In as much as I felt like I was starting to get a clutter of these things I've decided to let mr. posh name this one and he chose "Chiseled to perfection". Great choice posh. Just to let you all know that the chap who built the shed showed up and very kindly granted me ownership with no fuss. The issue is resolved and all is well in the world. Thanks all for your support.

There will be an extended downtime on June 11th at 1pm UTC while we take the servers down and move Celebration to a new hosting provider. Since this is a trial run, I will refrain from delving too far into the details of the provider and only say that I’ve been impressed with their knowledge and willingness to learn about Wurm’s needs. I’ve worked closely with them for a number of weeks now and I have confidence that we will be impressed with the result of this test. Once Celebration has been running successfully on this new provider, we will announce everything and answer any questions. I can’t wait to do a deep dive post on what we’ll be doing for hosting and how it will all work. For now, happy Wurming! Update: Celebration has moved!

My gripe is the rays not being occluded by rock. Here I am underground and can barely see a thing because the sun is shining into my eyes... what? I turn to look at it and there is this massive amount of light rays blinding me ... yet I am in a cave. This not only ruins immersion but makes it near impossible to use 'night vision' to navigate underground.

Sailing in Wurm just gets better.

A building, tastefully designed, may well fit into the landscape. there is no need that it always be but a cubicle. It may serve useful purposes, such as a shelter from attacking mobs for explorers and travellers, as well as a landmark (it may contain coord info in name in addition), be locked (freedom access drop pickup) against trolls, contain a bed, even a mailbox. Buildings can be situated under ground as well.

I am shortly going to be making a lot of locks, and know that I will curse keeping the keys in a bag or bowl. We can make rings from huge chain links to finger rings to jewelry chains, but a something as basic as a key ring. Just make it something you can make from an armour chain link, even.

Notched - adjective - Notched - marked with a notch or notches. Can prolly do better or simpler, or.. Scandinavianize (sp?) the names. and coming back to 1 of the original ideas. stained glass window, in a way. in reality it is just an image with removed areas, works well in .png but not so much in .jpg as jpg converts the areas to white.

In Oz, if you don't want a young tree eaten then fencing it off is a must. It is still fairly common to see a tree surrounded by its own little square of split-log walls. I think this all shows that it isn't simply a case of trees will grow wherever there is space. It is more complex than that, with animals both restricting and spreading trees, depending on the animal and on the tree as well as weather and topography. All too complex for a game like this to model, but approximations are possible.

In the UK, we had the opposite problem - trees weren't returning to open areas, and even carefully planted ones died off - the issue was caused by the native deer eating the saplings and young trees. The older trees were high enough to survive but new trees were decimated leading to isolated forests with large areas where none would grow. In the end foresters trialled fenced off areas, and the trees returned to these areas. Perhaps some animals in Wurm should have a chance at eating certain kinds of young trees, thus opening out clearings in the midst of forests. It's always going to be about balance.

Thanks to Dragonelle for collecting Alectrys's pair and dropping them off at my place along with her pair yesterday afternoon, because when I am Wurming from my Paramedic day job, I can not travel. Would not be cool to have to log off to answer an emergency call out whilst giving a Troll a well deserved terminal migraine. He might bite me... My wife brought her Priest over for a visit and Blessed all four of them. For Damascus... Yes they will be placed inside x4 Roof Less 1x1 70+QL white Marble Light houses. I have found they illuminate the surrounding area just fine from inside a Roofless 1x1. They will be "Secured". The building will be Open to Everyone so folks can get in and repair them. (which means the buildings can also double as a Safety Hut.) They will be on a Paved Slab floor so that they auto on and off and never need refueling, now that they are Blessed. After may hours of work, I have accomplished this http://prntscr.com/sgrczx From 73 to 76.6-8 has taken me just over 30 minutes, so although good skill gain, with all those damage and repair fails, I have hit the point of diminishing returns and increasing frustration. hehehehe Currently I am imp'ing four Iron Street Lamps, (Blessed) to 70 QL. These will be used as New side road entrance lamps at each end, to replace the Torch lamps which appear to take decay faster off deed then Iron Lamps. If anything needs changed on the small cart, it's to allow us to load 1x small crate (I suggested the same for the row boat). Leave it alone other wise, I still use mine from 8 years ago lol
