    The Jackal server will be shut down after it’s closure. Since its finish, the Jackal server has been up in order to allow accounts still on it to cross back and receive points and skill transfers. Shortly, we will be shutting the Jackal server down as we prepare to focus on the Steam launch.     With a few changes Wurm could have writers, publishers and bookshops! Let us write question marks, line breaks and other characters on papyrus and paper sheets. When a book page is renamed, use that name. So instead of "inscribed paper sheet, walnut (Introduction)" it just says "Introduction". This already happens with the book title. Allow more books on bookshelves. 11 (low bookshelf) and 15 (high bookshelf) look a bit pathetic. Let merchants sell books with pages. Some of these suggestions have already been made in other threads.

    I am rather new to this game (only been playing 2-3 months now) and I have to say I am very impressed with the level of GM and staff continued relationship, interaction and growth of the game. I have seen and played other games (sandboxes specifically) that the GM relationship to the games stagnated, leading to stagnated games. The length of time this game has been running and the continued support, updates, activity and interaction is awesome. I am very thankful and impressed to have found Wurm. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    At the moment this high end piece of furniture doesn't really do more than a small barrel with 10 jars in it, and it's only real feature is looking pretty. So I propose the following changes: 1. Allow the vials to be resized in a similar way to measuring jugs (only available if empty, current measure shown in the name to make things easier) 2. Liquids stored in this table DO NOT DECAY, AT ALL. 3. A special container for healing covers only; covers stored in here DO NOT DECAY.

    Ok so firstly this is a collaboration between 2 people, me and Angie, Angie did the models and they look awesome. It has a new model, so the server will need to run serverpacks mod and the players will also need the client version of serverpacks mod in order to see the model. General idea is that at the moment in order to make big volumes of the same color is difficult but also recreating that exact same color at a later date is almost impossible. So we added a new device called a 'Dye Maker' although it is more of an extractor or separator but either way dye maker is the name i originally gave it and it stuck. Device can be crafted in game by players. The process goes like this. Craft the device which will be on the ground, just like forge, fountain and such. Activate the dye in your inventory and right click the device, click 'Add dye' and this will add your dye to the device, there is an amount that is lost for adding dye (this is set by server admin). Activate any item and you get the action of 'check dye' this will tell you exactly how much dye has been stored in the device. Activate a container that can hold dye in your inventory and right click device, click 'Extract Dye' and then you will get a window pop up asking you to set the values for the dye. Choose your RGB, quality and volume. perms, the player needs pickup perms on deed in order to extract dye, anyone can add dye and check how much dye but need perms to extract dye. That is pretty much it, there are very complex calculations as far as how much dye is added to the device. Properties file looks like this ## Item template Id to use for the dye maker device, change if it conflicts with another mod targetid = 5858 ## % amount of liquid lost when adding to device losspercent = 50 ##lowest value of R,G and B for extraction, example: if set to 50 all 3 values must be at least 50. minimumextraction = 50 ## maximum of R+G+B allowed to add to device, any higher cannot be added as is to device maxrgb = 450 The game itself makes it very easy to make white dye which in the game at least is 255 255 255, so making white dye would add large amounts of each RGB, so there is a loss value to counter this which is set by the server admin, default is 50%. Then on the other side of the coin 0 0 0 is pure black and doing volume calculations on 0 would mean adding a tiny bit of dye you could extract thousands of volume of pure black, so there is a minimum value for the R G B extraction, which can be set by admin, default is 50. Which means the lowest RGB values possible to extract are 50, so 50 50 50, this makes a dark brown but not quite black colour. Also a maxrgb value for adding dye, this is R+G+B, so you if set to 450 then you won't be able to add pure white of any ql. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjnBltNOSFjChAaSk_GXtEbXecVP?e=OQCEkZ So there is a group of us working together at the moment in our own time to make more interesting things for wurm, including models. This is just the first released mod and there will no doubt be more to come.

    This post and graph is nothing related to anything to do with a UI, and I believe you used this before to complain about what you felt was feature creep. You want the UI to be intuitive and in most games noninvasive. One of the issues that wurm faces is you NEED these windows open, which is nothing to do with your graph. The argument would be to reduce the number of windows needed, and that is UX, not UI. That comes from things such as: Dragging items from a window into an in-world container without needing the container window open - window eliminated Interacting and dragging objects in-world - Window Eliminated Place - Removed keypresses/interactions Default actions - Less working out keybinds more information on simple mouseover - eliminates clicking and examining Dig to pile - less inventory actions Harvesting from horseback - Less interactions with horse Dredge into boat - less inventory actions UX is ongoing, and there's been a lot of work on it over the past year or two. UI is only part of what makes wurm feel clunky, and we are working on addressing that as we have in the past, and will in the future.

    In general the UI tweaks are looking quite nice but aren't addressing the key issues of the Wurm UI. I agree with you some of those things are just making things even more complicated instead of fixing things. What the main problem with the UI is that there are too many windows, too much text, too much information. Scientists call this phenom "Featuritis".

    Hello Good Wurmians o/ I've always been a Lonewolf and I always wanted to live alone within my borders. Thou I've always tried to help new players by visiting their deeds and helping on place, teaching them there as well as traveling and looking for lost souls wandering through the land. Now I find no time for staying in others deeds but I can use some company, as well as show very basics, share my knowledge, give opportunities and introduce new souls into our world. I'm looking for eager new players, one player exactly, one player who's eager to learn, who's willing to work and who's not afraid of any tasks. Mostly I'm looking for someone who likes adventurer's life just like me, who's bold enough to go out a deed for few days to hunt, fighting for survive as well as getting rewards and knowledge about land that we live on, and when we return, we keep trying to do our best working on our very own land. Living with me might be tough, I'm not offering you free items, enchants, glory or money for you and your family. I'm not even particulary interested to encourage you. But that's what Wurm's life is about. It's not always easy, it's not always rewarding, it might be rough, but afterall you're getting more satisfy if you feel responsibility for your every step and you know that you earned everything just by yourself. In short who I'm looking for: - New player - Eager to learn and work - Player who loves to hunt and travel - Trusted person, possibly with recommendations from old Wurm's pricks. - Possibly some kinda Roleplay guy. - Curious about World I've created simple recruiting form to fill up and post in this topic or through PM.     The problem with unique creatures that has been going around since they have been around is that people are privately slaying them or keeping them as "pets", this is unfair and a monopoly because they get to control the market for the drops. this is unfair to must people like me because it makes it a zero to none chance of me being able to get the hide I want for armor, I have to spend all the coins I earn on upkeep and premium, and I am not going to send real life money to get the hide/armor either. this shouldn't be allowed. And, since they are so rare you may not be able to get enough of the drop without going though the monopoly, that is a problem as well I suggest to make the spawn rate a bit higher so people are able to enough of the drop they need.

    Can't set volume: You can only change volume when the measuring jug is in your inventory. It is in inventory, empty. Tried full, empty, dropping it and repicking it up, nothing. Can't change volume anymore. Several players reported it on CA chat also.

    While we're at it, can we have Books act similar to shop signs upon rename.... where as there are a selection of 10-15 covers, different colors and patterns, that we can choose from? I'd love to have an elder scrolls thing going for books so as to make series of books have similar look and feel. History of Celebration, Vol 1-9 having a red diamond pattern Chronicles of Epic Failures, Complete works having black stripe pattern Stuff like that

    To shortly describe what is done: The east-west tunnel is 5 lane, 2 road lanes to become a highway once all resource veins in the way are cleared, and 3 (2 and a half) water lanes to be lowered to cog/caravel depth some day. All walls are reinforced. The road has highway fit entrances on both sides. Once all resource veins are cleared about 1100 support beams, 550 catseyes, and accordingly bricks and mortar are needed to make a nice highway which is planned in the future to connect into and over the mountains west of F21. This is what is left to mine out: The south to north (F21 to E21) tunnel is also fully mined out to 3 lanes (to become 3 shipping lanes) now, and fully reinforced. Yet floors have to be lowered by about 40-50 slope on 3x220 tiles ca. to make it passable for ships (is rock floor atm). And there are about 43 resource veins to be mined out (posting a list below, that is a moving target though as we are working on). Everyone wanting to help is welcome. Aske may accommodate helpers in his deed "Bos Harbor" in F21, additionally, we have a workers's shed in the desert area in F21. I have 2 priests in the area who may summon. Some pics: Tunnel Entrance at Bos Harbour in F22 Highway junction and tunnel road entrance at Bos Harbour Tunnel exit to lake at F21 Inside the tunnel Road exit in F21 Workers' shed and road exit in F21 Northern tunnel exit in E21 Inside northern tunnel.

    Done same with few towers, mailboxes barely take damage, usually never using or getting close to public ones(no need to), cant remember using fountains.. usually using a cart and have a water with me.. the tower I usually just repair if I care for them to be around.. and if ql drops too low.. than spending time to imp it a bit...

    I have always made it a practice to repair guard towers, mailboxes, and wells and fountains that I come across. I agree it's a good thing to try to preserve public facilities and landmarks.

    ok rift mod had some fixes and improvements. spawning mobs no longer resets power to 0, just subtracts the power used from the total. when sacrificing you get an event print stating the 3 power stages set by the server admin.

    Hello friends and wurmians I am here to say to my friends(mostly) and fellow players that time has ended on my wurm life, i have met some wonderful people i will not forget , i have shared some great times and some sad times but the great far outweigh the bad for sure and i would not have had it any other way . Thrown into wurm after discovering it in a game forum i got off a google hit about sandbox games in 2013 i found this gem of a game , naked and screaming from hell hounds and trolls chasing me on release, i managed to be saved by a village and from that moment on i never looked back, my last few years was spent on Pristine and they were one of my greatest i will miss all my friends and my alliance. But my job and the farm my wife and i brought last year (1800+ acres) is very busy , i now have my own real life deed with cows and sheep(we got new lambs yesterday) and felling trees (even tried it with a 2h axe , it nearly killed me how much effort it took) and also lots of other farm activities/jobs . I want to thank all my friends i don't want to throw names out in case i miss someone and it may upset them, i want to thank the staff , we have amazing staff and our in game chat channels monitored is a real treat to see in online pve sandbox, and the help i received when i called a ticket or asked a CA question was second to none i wish wurm , players and all involved a great future and smooth and successful steam release. I was always saddened when players or friends left one day and i never heard from them or worried what happened to them, so my friends you know now i am fine and my wurm time just ran out 😕 Hugs , Toey

    There is also the old reliable standby of foraging for it. you'll get mats - some useful, others not as much - and with any luck from the RNG gods, you could have enough silver after several hours-days of that to get premium. Back when i used it to pay for premium, it usually took a couple days of foraging to get enough to pay for the month. downside is it isn't as safe as staying on deed and banging out raw mats.

    I just joined this game with my wife about two weeks ago. My previous experience with the game was eight or so years ago, playing for a few days on a pvp server then quitting when my first house was destroyed. It’s going much better this time around, and we have built up a quaint little couple of shacks and a farm with some animals just outside of Haven’s Landing, since my previous experience made me want to make things simple and easy to let my wife get hooked on the game. Well now she is hooked. We have been talking about deeding by the coast and then sailing to a new island eventually, but now she wants to skip all that, leave what we have behind, and go off to settle in our permanent home using our one free teleport. So my main question is, where should we go? We’d like a place far less populated and with less history, because we had a bad experience with our mine digging breaking into a public mine, but I also enjoy stumbling across the occasional rotting house and searching it for its history. Besides that, we are perfectly fine being far away from everybody, because we have friends that may join and between the two of us only we have tons of fun just working together on basic things, like digging a useless ditch for four days. Besides my main question, I am also wondering what we should bring and how we should prepare, what precautions to take and all that, to make sure we dont go all the way out to some place and then one of us dies and we cant get back, or something unforeseen. We really don’t know much about the game and enjoy discovering, so keep that in mind with your answers. I’m not trying to master something just to remove all the risk before I go, just the real importabt stuff. Im also guessing that what we can bring is limitted to our inventory, not a cart or an animal or anything? Thank you, Vibius

    Aye. IRL, a ships motion is hardly the "jiggling" that a compass would get over land. It makes no sense to drop anchor in the middle of the ocean in order to take a compass reading.

    That's a wonderful picture, but I have to agree it needs more books visually. Somehow. +1 to some dust option too I guess... or just limit the no-decay to books on shelves.

    The roof is made of bridges on 3rd and 4th floors and the building itself is U-shaped.
