Quick update as folks have been asking. So we had a rather rocky start to Jackal being in AWS. We picked too small of an instance size to start with. Samool made some server-side optimizations to help with a bit of lag and resource usage. There were configurations required to run a production-level Wurm server that did not show up in testing. This lead to crashes, lag, and more crashes. Jackal couldn't remain up for more than a day without issues. Fixes for all this went out earlier this month, but then we had a rather rocky update last week which resulted in several restarts - not enough time to measure performance and stability of Jackal to any reasonable degree. Our next patch is scheduled for this coming Thursday, which will be over a week of up-time for all servers - including Jackal. That will help us determine if we're stable enough to bring Celebration into AWS. If we're not, then we'll consider other options for the server, such as relocating it on the Hetzner side of things to see if it's hardware.

Kochinac is my real life last name, spelled a bit differently(Kočinac is real one). Since English doesnt have letter č i replaced it with ch because it's the same sound as ch in chair. Also c in the end is not read as hard K as many people asume, it's more like zz in pizza, English doesn't really have that sound too.. Reason why i almost always go with my last name on my mains is because it's unique even in my country and because i don't like to refering to my character in 3rd person, they are actually me, not someone else so i like to wear my real name in game too.

I was chatting and joking around in my alliance and how long Xan has been up.. and how long we have all been here.. I seem to be the baby of the group... every one else is old timers.. Sooo I jokingly said that Retro or Enki should gift walking canes.. to any one over 5 years in wurm.. LOL then one of the alliance members continued that thought...... by adding>>> I wouldn't mind a nice walking cane. Have it be used as a weapon, uses staff skill, but also gives +0.25kmh walking speed :D I thought that might be a fun idea!

Objects should show user-assigned names before the description instead of the current format which places the name at the end. For example, if I have made a weapons rack out or lindenwood and rename it "Tools" because that is what is going in it, then it should display as "Tools, weapons rack, lindenwood" instead of "Weapons rack, lindenwood, Tools". Likewise if I have designated a BSB for dirt, then I don't need the description to say "BSB, cedarwood, "Dirt"". I already know it is a BSB because I can see it, and what it is made from is of low importance, but the priority for me is to know which BSB has dirt and which has e.g. stone shards. We name these things to make them simpler to work with, but the names are relegated to after the stuff we can see without even a mouse-over. If I call my huge axe "Giorradair" then I want to see Giorradair first and after that the description that Giorradair is a huge axe made of steel. This wouldn't be hard to implement. I expect the format is already something like object, material, name and a null name simply doesn't display. All it would need is a reorder to name, object, material and a null name simply doesn't display.

Where there were assumptions that 1g is a lot? Great that you are doing great But you know that monetization and monetizing as much stuff as possible in general is not a great way of running a game? How freedom alliances are related with all this heraldic stuff related with kingdoms et cetera? I mean, why should I be able to, as a random guy, go and create my own banners that would be added to the game? And why would we stop on banners? How about player-made tapestries, furniture etc etc? But... Don't we have Wurm Unlimited? Don't we have a game where you can create your own server and do there anything you want? Including heavy modding the game? But wait, one guy few posts before said that pvp people are "tiny niche portion of the playerbase", so i dont know how we are overcoming Freedom Isles in a hate. I'll be honest, in my short history of pvping i have encountered a lot of hate from few freedomers, they behavioured even like pvp was a cause of all whats wrong and bad in our lifes.

There's missing Freedom Docks deed, I know that the deed was disbanded for some time last year, but it is on highway map anyway and can be found when you look for the routes. Could you please add it again? The token is just few tiles as previous one if I remember correctly. And yes it is my alt.

If Wurm offered a service to produce banners and wagons for players on the freedom servers, I would glady pay for one for my deed.

Gud'morning Dev team and new owners, Friday, March 20th, 2020 at 17:33 GMT My wife (Skyefox) just used the Xsolla Visa Card option at the top of the Shop Screen to buy another year of Premium.... .... and our credit cards immediately got Frozen. With seconds of clicking Buy, our Canadian bank's Visa card automated anti fraud system cut in. We received an automated telephone, informing is of "suspicious" foreign transactions and that our credit cards had been frozen. We telephoned our bank back straight away and it took about 30 minutes of battling bureaucracy to get our credit cards unfrozen. In that process I ended up with our banks Anti Fraud Security Department. The security officer at our bank's Anti Fraud Department told us that ANY transaction via Xsolla is now consider a High Fraud risk by Canadian banks. He told us that all Xsolla transactions have been down rated to "untrustworthy". He explained that this is because Xsolla, which is based in Russia, is the "credit card" service of choice for fraudsters to run their scams through. He further explained that this is because it is very, very hard to trace fraudulent transactions done through Russian financial services. He finished off with the warning that "ANY" transaction through Xsolla now triggers anti fraud protection protocols. In closing... To the new folks who are now the owners of Wurm... Please... you need to seriously consider moving the Wurm payment page financial transactions services to a Swedish or European based "real" bank. We were both very upset that our Credit Cards got frozen because my wife used the Xsolla option at the top of the Wurm Shop Page. As an interim measure.... ... please consider moving the Pay Pal options to the Top of the page and move the Xsolla credit card options to the bottom of the page whilst you find a new and more internationally trusted financial service to process these transactions. This will help prevent others from suffering the monumental hassles and inconveniences of having to get their Credit Cards unfrozen after paying for something in the Wurm Shop. Food storage bins open up the front when they are over halfway full (8000+ volume stored inside), similar to how the BSB model gets an additional box on top when its over halfway. It is just uncommon to see FSBs with that much in them, since most of the food items are very low volume (Whole fish, pumpkins, cabbages, and lettuce aside).

i have 7 accounts named after drinks i like which is more than the 5 that are some variant of gary i used gary because i needed a name that wasnt my name and im bad at names and it was a normal name that was on the top of my head that doesn't suck like eugene or something i cant use my real name because most variants are already used and it's more difficult when spelling it backwards like the coolkids do still spells it the same way i named my first priest fatjesus because someone called me fatjesus in college because i had long hair and a beard and it was a priest and im bad at names so it worked for me im so good at names that when i made an alt to cast fungus for hate tiles i named it fungus and then devs just had to go and change the name of the fungus spell, probably to unknowingly spite me, very rude

Ah, I get asked this all the time. No, it's not from the drink. It's also not from Borderlands. I came of age alongside the internet. When I was in college, AOL dial-up was all the rage and people were getting used to this weird new form of communication called email. My friends and I all had nicknames for each other, mine was Moxie because... well, I had moxie. Chutzpah. I'd usually take things a step further and be a little crazier/weirder/bolder than the others. So, eventually I started using that name for online gaming, long before Borderlands was a thing. Actually, it's very possible that character was named after me. 🤪 And yes I've had Moxie the drink. It tastes like tar and sassafras, and it isn't my favorite. 🙂 Lyric was started to be a Fo priest, so I wanted a name that sounded kinda hippy-dippy/naturesy. I love music too so it fit.

Quite funny how the same bug appeard in Wurm Unlimited already a few years ago. Keybinds can be extremly dangerous, if not correctly checked server side they can become deadly for every server cluster. I once planted a water skin

It was back in 2010 my wurm adventure started. I was 16 and it sounded cool! 😎 At the time I didn't know it was a word with a meaning to it.🤣 Me and two friends spawned at The Howl. We walked for what seemed like hours until we reached the shores of SW Independence. We took refuge at a village called Croc Knob and got well fed by the mayor Kronius. We saw an island in the distance and got in love with it. We started to work on a row boat. It was made by the finest olive trees, cut down by my friend wielding a rake. When we finally made it the island we got ambushed by bears and wolves, back to The Howl we went. We did the same thing again and planted our first deed. One of the two friends are still playing wurm with me today.

I dont think Wurm devs could work collectively in the same office. If they are anything like the players, they'd kill each other over the last donut left on the break room.

Wish they would add them to WU as paid DLCs like all other companies.

I have had this incorrect error present itself several times while surface mining. I believe what has happened is I am surface mining at a location where at one time, long ago, a cave existed near the surface. It has since collapsed and there is no longer any open cave tiles below where I am mining. However, the server still "thinks" there is a cave there and will not allow the surface to be mined below the old cave height. Originally I thought perhaps there was an unconnected void below me. So I mined into the tile from below figuring to Strongwall it if I found a void. If there had been any void, I would have mined into it or would have received another error while mining into it from below. But there was no void. However, mining into the tile, even without closing it with Strongwall, seems to reset the ceiling height and I was able to resume surface mining. Of course, you need to make sure the ceiling of the new cave is lower than the height you want to mine the surface down to. This has now happened four times, and in each case I was able to work around the issue by mining into the tile from below. The "fix" for the server seems to be to reset/remove the ceiling height below when a collapse happens (when all tiles surrounding a corner are collapsed). EDIT: Associating support ticket #72787 with this bug.
