It would be great if a link to the game rules was made available either in game or on the launcher. Maybe I missed it elsewhere but looking around I saw that there is a line in the EULA (which let's be honest, hardly anyone reads): It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself and abide by the Game Rules, Forum Rules and Chat Rules and all future revisions thereof that must be adhered to by all users of Wurm Online and are published on the Wurm Online site. From there you can click website on the launcher (found in the drop down). There are no links to the Game Rules in any of the menus. At the bottom there is a link to Terms and Conditions which just takes you back to the EULA. I don't think players expect to have to look in the forums to find games rules (I know that I didn't). If we want new players to abide by the rules, I think it would be advantageous if the rules were more easily accessible. Perhaps a "Game Rules" link could be added next to the "EULA" link at the top of the launcher? Or maybe a link in the main settings menu in conjunction with a short step in the tutorial that explains where to find the rules?

Buyer Merchant What does it do? Introduces a new type of NPC, based on the merchant, that will buy items from players instead of selling them. How to use Simply head to your nearest Trader and buy the new "personal buyer contract" and place it as you would a merchant. The name will have a "Buyer_" prefix to distinguish from merchants. Then right click on the contract and choose "Manage traders". This will bring up a menu like the merchants but with "Manage Prices" and "Add Item" buttons. Go through the add item menu (see the screenshots below) to add an item to the buyer's Price List and when a player trades all the items on the list will be shown, along with prices and minimum ql requirements. Trade some money to your buyer to get them started. You can remove it any time you want before it's spent. Features Screenshots Beta Everything should now be working as it should. However I haven't tested it on a populated server, and with all the item possibilities something might come up. I also wanted some feedback on how it works. Menu improvements, etc. Requirements ago's Mod Launcher Instructions Download the zip file Copy contents of zip into your Wurm Server mod directory Settings Crafter What does it do? A new type of NPC who accepts orders from players for items to be improved in return for money. How to use Visit a Crafter with an item you want to have improved. "Trade" the item to them and select what ql level you want. Also, available is "Mail when done". Add the requested amount of money and finalise the trade. Type /crafters into chat to get messages from every Crafter you have current orders with, then pay them a visit when your item is ready to collect. To place your own buy a "crafter contract" from a trader and hire a Crafter just like other NPCs. Choose which skills the Crafter will use (add individual skills to a whole set of crafters or just add them all for one super crafter). Collect the money that comes pouring in (assuming the server owners haven't set money to tax and upkeep, or just tax). Features Requirements ago's Mod Launcher Instructions Download the zip file Copy contents of zip into your Wurm Server mod directory Screenshots Settings Delivery Contracts What does it do? A new type of contract that facilitates placing heavy items on a merchant. Have the spirits deliver piles of bricks, forges, ovens, and many other items. The bearer can take it all the way across the server without worrying about the weight, then have it delivered to their village token or a nearby waystone. Want to be a carpenter and sell carts on a merchant? Now you can. Want to sell "kits" such as starter packs or sets of tools (e.g. smithing set/carpenter set)? Now you can. Note - You cannot highlight a range of items and only pack those. If you pack one item in a group it packs all the others of that type in the container/inventory. * WARNING - Not PvP safe* Requirements ago's Mod Launcher Instructions Download the zip file Copy contents of zip into your Wurm Server mod directory Settings MerchantCap What does it do? Set a per player trade cap for merchants. If a player makes any trade with a capped merchant it will add to their player spending history and if any trade would go over that amount it will prevent the trade from completing. Using a GM character and wand, right-click on the merchant and there will be a "Cap Trade" option, with "Set Cap" as a sub-option. This will bring up a window where you can set, and later remove, the cap. After a cap has been set there will be a second sub-option, "Clear History", if you wish to remove all player transactions with this particular merchant. Otherwise the history will remain, so you can toggle the cap on and off without losing history. Can be used without BuyerMerchant on normal merchants, or with BuyerMerchant to also work on buyers. Unlike most of my mods, this does use a database. It is called "merchantcap.db" and can be found with all the other databases in <ServerName>/sqlite. Requirements ago's Mod Launcher Instructions Download the zip file Copy contents of zip into your Wurm Server mod directory Settings CustomTrader (and Currency Trader) What does it do? Custom Trader - A new type of NPC based on the standard trader, that can only be placed by GMs. Has various options for a custom inventory, including restocking rules. Use a 'tag' to share the same inventory between multiple custom traders, or just use a unique inventory. Currency Trader - Based on the Custom Trader, this NPC trades items for a specific type of item used as a currency. For example, claim prizes in return for HotA medallions. A new NPC that will buy tools and weapons according to various factors. (See Settings below.) Requirements ago's Mod Launcher Instructions Download the zip file Copy contents of zip into your Wurm Server mod directory Settings Banker What does it do? A new NPC that can manage bank accounts remotely. As well as the usual Manage/Withdraw options you get a deed token, you can also use the "Move account" option to move your bank account to other villages, with the same requirements, without visiting the actual village. Bribery can be configured in the settings (see below) to allow players to move their account instantly to another location, for a price. GMs and owners (if contracts made available on traders) can also set the face of the banker. Note, there is some odd behaviour with how the client handles face changing. The face changer window will always show the gender of the player, not the banker. Although most of the options will still work (no facial hair on females though), if just won't look right. Whilst using the window your own characters face will change in the Character window, this doesn't happen to the face other players see and will return to normal after confirming changes. Also, for some reason, doesn't like setting the correct hair style when the window first opens, just toggle it back and forth to set it to the right one. Requirements ago's Mod Launcher Instructions Download the zip file Copy contents of zip into your Wurm Server mod directory Settings BeastSummoner What does it do? A new type of NPC that can be placed by GM, to offer creature spawning services to players. Features include: Summon lists Specify creature templates, prices, age, cap on amount spawned in one purchase, limit creature type modifiers. Currency Choose between normal coin and (nearly) any item type for payment. Tagged summoners Like CustomTrader, set a named tag to share a summon list between multiple summoners. Set spawn point Set the spawn point where the creatures will be created, it doesn't have to be near the summoner themselves, and you can also set a range (in tiles) where multiple creatures will be spread out. Creature Type Price Modifiers Set global modifiers for creature type modifier in .properties. e.g. Champion creatures could be set to 2 to double the price compared to other types. Summoner customisation Set the model, and optionally the face (if using human model), of the Beast Summoners. Disclaimer - In order to support the widest possible use of this mod, I've not limited the creatures you can spawn, offering all those offered by the GM Summon menu. However this may mean that there are things you shouldn't be spawning. Be sure to test any before you unleash try them on players. Event message: "You are not allowed to do that." when trying to take something out of my cart, which is already open. Yes, I am allowed to do that, I am just not close enough to do so. This is not only misinformation and confusing, but very annoying to say the least. Thus, suggestion: Please change this message to ready something like "you need to be closer to do that" or something similar. Even better would be to increase the reach into and out of a cart, so that: - if you can open the cart, you can take things out of it; and - if you can kill a mob and open it, then you can butcher and bury it, without having to nearer to it. - if you can open a bsb or a crate in a rack, you can take things out of it, etc. The reach into and out of carts is now completely out of sync and needs attention - please! These suggestion have been made many times, including the following:

When you own a deed and someone else finishes a colossus on it, or purchase a deed with a colossus created by someone else, the mayor does not have move (push, pull, turn) rights nor do they have destroy option. Please allow these for the mayor of the deed the colossus is on, similar to guard towers. Thanks.

More or less built, but feel free to scrap everything down to start a brand new deed with the 20% reduction to come. 8s each - Less than a settlement contract and even less than a trader one! Free or Open to any offers, don't let them disband! Offer will stand till all the deeds are sold and/or disband. Traders cannot be moved : as per the official infos bellow -

Greetings Wurmians! As you know as of midnight on the 1st of March, 2020 (GMT) RMT will no longer be tolerated within the game and will be against game rules. Any information stating otherwise will be considered out of date, reporting it will allow us to correct the matter. We know this change may take some time to get used to but we do expect it to be followed. As such any attempts to sell anything via ingame chat for any money will be met with a request to avoid doing so. Continued actions or behaviour to promote RMT will result with moderation. Posts elsewhere will also be removed for including RMT transactions as available options. As of the 1st of March we will reset the Discord market channel. We'll also be looking at reviewing past sales and threads involving RMT and whether we will take action on them. Any decisions to archive or remove part of the market threads history will be communicated with notice to remove or rewrite with no mention of RMT. Of course over the coming weeks these guidelines will firm up and attempts to sell via RMT will result in instant action, we appreciate you all adapting to these new rules as quickly as you will.

Don't waste your time looking for it. He operates on projection, sophistry and cherry picking. If this were to be applied consistently, archery is circumventing weaponsmithing and able to kill most mobs even more than a slightly more in depth and better WF would be, but nevermind that. I don't know how good WF is, but if it's basically useless I see no reason it shouldn't be buffed a bit. I wouldn't even mind if a chuck norris level character would be able to take on a troll. Wasn't there a guy who got it to 100? Let him wrestle a dragon, the man deserved it.

I don't need a trader moved cross servers but it just seems odd that it's not "doable" to move one to another server. Delete the existing one, give the player a form, watch them plant trader ?? good job

I'll try to play along with this a bit. If I chose to take my priest monk fighter guy to a pvp server and get killed, that is on me. I lose all of his gear which would include his enchanted clothing/monk armor stuff, jewelry and anything else I had on him along with skill loss. I'm sorry none of that would probably be any real value to you unless you could find another monk fighter character that was interested in buying it from you- maybe even me if I found it valuable enough to buy back from you. I'll say again that weaponless fighting is already a thing, and there are a few players that have made that a fighting style for them. Heck, you can equip enchanted frying pans as weapons in weaponless fighting and go have fun with them. No weaponsmith needed there. My suggestion in the OP simply allows a weaponless fighter to go around wearing pants and fight using enchants while bare handed (wearing fighting gloves or bracers), and not having to equip frying pans or some other odd thing. I must admit, beating a hellhound to death while duel wielding frying pans does sound fun.... I still want my legit shaman monk fighter though. If I ever did decide to take him to try him out on a pvp server, I'll be sure to carry a couple enchanted frying pans as loot for you, should I bump into you and you kill me.

Those little imping icons to the right of the items being imped should serve more than to tell us what tools to use for the next imp - they should provide a way of accessing them. I have long thought that we should be able to click on these imping icons to activate the best tool for the job in our inventory, including the hand. Use a tool-belt much? We should be able to add our hand icon to the tool-belt so we can select it with a key-press in the same way as a tool. Finally, (and I am not the first to mention it), I think one psychological problem with the use of the hand tool, is not the hand but the QL. Why do we have 90+ql tools but our hands remain 50ql? Surely with practice in pottery or the use of salve/balm our hands should increase QL so that they can add something positive to the end result.

Truthfully, I'd be a lot more into it if it gave you a bonus to ship speed or to mindlogic so you could command a better ship or something. Then it has an actual function too. Of course then you'd need to have one for non-pirates. (I'm surprised there was no request for eye patches, shoulder parrots, wooden leg pants, hook gloves, and cutlasses sword skins to round out the look)
  38. 1 point
If we get pirate hats we should also have shoulder pads with a parrot built into the model.

I mean they definitely can. The company is allowed to do what they want when they want in terms of punishing an account, it would just take them getting enough potential evidence to avoid backlash. No mmo has a real system in place to detect RWT, but they can see signs of it, and continued signs would lead to action. Discussing how someone could be able to get away with RWT in the future isn't a great idea on the forums, but their main target is likely players who do it continuously. Someone dropping expensive items or 50s 3-4 times over the course of a few months is suspicious and likely grounds for them to take action.

Agreed, I have a single wide overly long, utterly pointless 80ql bridge by my deed that is making it impossible for me to hook up to the highway network I could do extensive amounts of terraforming to get around it, but it would still be there, still being pointless, when the land it's on is already perfect and good to go for highway-making. I could spend years of my wurm life bashing every last tile of it, but I should not have to when a catapult is supposed to work Someone please fix this. Pleeeeeeese

Which is completely irrelevant to the point that complaining on forums will not resolve the issue, ever.

Skill checks have a "bonus", which is a totally separate factor from your skill and the difficulty of the action. It's granted by things like the result of a separate skill check for the tool, or by things like faith/alignment bonuses in the case of channeling. For reference, the maximum the "bonus" can ever be is 70, and you mostly just get that when enchanting due to alignment/faith/deed bonuses. There's no quick and concise explanation for exactly how much it affects the result, so you can't really think of it as "40% better" or anything like that. The important thing to know is that it improves the result on average, and that +40 makes a more substantial difference than the previous +20 did.

Using a VPN totally fixes the issue. I downloaded ProtonVPN and since using it, I have not had any connection issues at all. I even connect using a USA-based connection point in ProtonVPN and I can run as many clients as I want and they do not have any bandwidth limitations. Download ProtonVPN, install it, launch it, choose a connection point, launch Wurm, enjoy.

If we break it down what do you get back on a trade when you purchase the contract? 2.5-3s? so it sounds like they’re just making the offer for perhaps convenience, it didn’t sound like a requirement. Whether it works for someone or not it’s just an offer. I might take them up on it if I had a bunch of bulls to unload or something for example, and had reason to drop a merchant. Also as far as worst case scenario you get the contract and they disappear and the deed disbands.. you still have the contract which should resell for 5-7s too so the risk is minimal really. Merchant contracts have always sold so quickly and been so slow to buy, at least in my experience.. that this seems like a completely reasonable offer

open your console and type sensitivity 5 (or a number between 1-9) until you find the best one for you it has to do with mouse sensitivity being too high (been awhile since I tried WU so it may be slightly different, just need to find and change the mouse sensitivity settings)
