    Greetings Wurmians! As you know as of midnight on the 1st of March, 2020 (GMT) RMT will no longer be tolerated within the game and will be against game rules. Any information stating otherwise will be considered out of date, reporting it will allow us to correct the matter. We know this change may take some time to get used to but we do expect it to be followed. As such any attempts to sell anything via ingame chat for any money will be met with a request to avoid doing so. Continued actions or behaviour to promote RMT will result with moderation. Posts elsewhere will also be removed for including RMT transactions as available options. As of the 1st of March we will reset the Discord market channel. We'll also be looking at reviewing past sales and threads involving RMT and whether we will take action on them. Any decisions to archive or remove part of the market threads history will be communicated with notice to remove or rewrite with no mention of RMT. Of course over the coming weeks these guidelines will firm up and attempts to sell via RMT will result in instant action, we appreciate you all adapting to these new rules as quickly as you will.

    I LOVE iron fences, but the bricks on the side can look a little ugly and overwhelming when you have a huge row of them. Could we get iron fences (and the gates) without the bricks? Even just the current models without the side pieces. I want a beautiful fenced lawn, not a horse prison.

    I was wandering the wilderness when I came across this curious object Now, you know what it is - the title gave it away. That's an Epic Structure, the temple to be exact. Not exactly Epic by any means. And I get it, it's a temple to the mighty error bag, a relic of our past. So I'm not going to ask for someone to model and texture a whole temple, all I want is a little visibility and reward for using something like 1000 materials Something like this Yes, yes that would do it nicely.     Are you tired of dullard bridges? What about your grand design falling short of a bridge brighter than it is (and no ability to dye things lighter, seriously, that's not a thing, neutral is at 255, not 127)? Introducing the concept of DYEABLE BRIDGES With, like, the commonsense ideas like "only the creator can dye" (they're clearly tracked, only the creator can rename) and "why not include floors while we're at it" and "who even remembers what roofs are" Consider bullying your local devs into slaving away for hours so we can have this today! do not actually bully devs, consult common sense before use, terms and conditions apply

    What "productive responses" are you expecting this thread to met with @Nikko? Having predictable pricing would be convenient. That's about the most I can say for it. And with the end of RMT, I believe there will be a market correction, and it won't be to raise prices back to what they've been for roughly the last ten years. Disclaimer: I have no background in economics and my crystal ball is current in the shop for repairs. That said, here's my logic: a $10 Visa gift card is more valuable than a $10 Starbucks gift card. I can use the the Visa gift card at Starbucks, but I can also use it at the movies or grocery store or dinner out. My Starbucks card is good at -- Starbucks. That's it. So when players could exchange in-game currency for out-of-game currency, it was of more value to them. Now, silver -- like the Starbucks card -- is good in only one place. With silver worth less, the same in-game action (or material) will result in less silver. That's my opinion. Yours is clearly different. I hope you find this post productive. I only find it opinionated, and I rarely find opinions "productive" (of anything other than more opinions).

    It would be good to have somewhere to put gear so that that it is actually depicted (as it would be on the ground or a table) but is a stand or rack. You could have a rack by the door with your favourite weapon, or farming tool, visible so that you can rack it when not in use, but you can grab it directly without opening the container first. Or make it a stand, only holding one item, but allow them placed close together on a tile. Going to farm? grab your shovel, rake, scythe etc. Going mob hunting? sword & shield, bow and quiver etc. It would also allow a player to create a display of choice items in for example their armoury (or boudoir if you are into that sort of thing). It would also be a good way to have shields standing instead of either packed away or lying about.

    So with nothing better to do with my life, I have decided to collect different rare Trowels. Below is a picture of the current Trowels I have. I am looking for any metal that isn't what I have already. Please let me know if you have something that fits the bill. Well figured I may as well start looking at supreme trowels too depending on the price.

    The rift location is southwest of Vrock Landing, in the northern part of H13, 2593, 2476 ca. in community map. Access is best from the Highway south of Vrock Landing. I made a makeshift path of felled trees turning west from the highway at 2689, 2445 opposite of the gravel road to the east. (map follows). Dates as usual at niarja https://www.niarja.com/universes/online/rifts The path is (barely) rideable, improvements are welcome. A camp will most probably be more handy south or west of the rift zone, so that this route will lead directly into the trouble once the rift is open. It is the best route to the rift though.

    I know that you guys are looking at some qol things and one that comes to my mind is a guard tower that a new player can build. Even if it was just a few guards it would help till they can either get a deed going or the mason skill to build a stone one. (one that a free/new player has the ability to build)

    Guy from freedom were looking for dirt on Epic. I got some, so I offered that I can sell him some dirt at standard price 1s/1k (it was standard price on Epic like always) or cheaper if he gonna buy more. His reaction was like I was trying to rob him, "couse on freedom dirt is twice cheaper on even less".

    Hi everyone, With the upcoming Steam release there’s been a lot of questions and discussions around the future of RMT within the game. We know Steam will not allow RMT within their platform and there have been many questions about what this means to the original servers, given the talk of merging at a currently unknown point. We will go into detail below about not only what we plan on doing but also why we plan on doing it, and what you can expect from here on out in regards to it. Real Money Trading When Wurm was started, it was started with the belief that players should be able to profit from their time invested in the game. This core belief helped build the economy into what it is today. Many players have relied on this system in converting ingame assets into real world money but it does cause issues within how players interact with Wurm, and what they expect from it. With a direct, open translation of silver/goods to real world money, many players took prices dropping as views of direct loss of income, similar to being told your boss is paying you less because they hired more workers. It built many expectations of the trade in Wurm and a major focus on maximising profit even if it was not needed ingame, the excess could be sold. Value of items was inflated because they were seen as investments that could be sold off should the need arise, and unfortunately was the core reason behind a large amount of macroing cases the GM team has handled over the years. It also provides an issue where we ourselves are competing for sales with our players, with players able to sell their currency for cheaper than we could due to no overheads and taxes on it. The landscape of the internet and online gaming has vastly changed over the past sixteen years, and many parts of Wurm have remained in simply because changing it was too big a step to take. With the steps to Steam it gives us an opportunity to re-evaluate many aspects of the game that have felt a little too daunting to touch, and offers us the chance to make major changes in order to provide a welcoming environment and reduce premium and silver costs as well. Currently having RMT on the regular Wurm Online servers we would not be able to have any connection with the Steam servers, and the existing client would not be able to connect to the Steam servers. With this in mind we have made the tough decision of no longer allowing any and all RMT and account sales effective March 1st, 2020. This will include sales of silver, items for real life currency and account trades. Account trades It has been raised in many threads that account sales mean high skills never truly leave the game. This causes a huge top heavy system where high skilled accounts are sold and resold and we want to encourage new players to gain skill and take part in their community, feeling accomplishment for gaining their skills. This also occurs with accounts shared between a group of players, such as a highly skilled weaponsmith or priest that can be accessed 24/7 We want achievements to be individual based rather than adding value to an account, and as such we will also be placing a ban on account sales for ingame silver AND Real Money Trading. We will be adjusting our stance towards shared accounts. Your account may be shared on a personal basis (i.e. a family member or a close friend) but sharing your account with multiple people will be against game rules. We will also not be providing ANY assistance with account ownership disputes where the password has been shared in ANY way. Trader Mechanics Traders have long been a contentious point, with Xanadu and Jackal both disallowing traders. Initially launched as a means of offsetting the high upkeep costs of large deeds, traders have since been used as a means of farming silver from the coffers on a large scale, using minimum size deeds which goes against the original intention and is not ideal. Trader items have their benefits in being sold, but the ongoing ability to use them for means other than their directly intended purpose is something we are taking the opportunity to address. After the end of February update traders will no longer pay out silver earned from the kingdom coffers or give a portion of sales back. Instead they will now grant a percentage reduction on the upkeep of the deed they live on which cannot stack with multiple traders. We will be discussing the actual percentage over the month and have the final decision before the launch. We will also be revisiting trader prices and reducing them to account for these changes. In order to accommodate players wanting more traders on their deeds we will be reducing the minimum range between traders to 20 tiles. Traders will no longer be able to operate on land without a deed, and if they are on un-deeded land at the time of the update they will disband immediately. We know these changes may affect some who rely on the silver but we feel the deed upkeep reduction will still provide significant value while removing the ability to farm multiple traders. We’re aware these changes are major changes to mechanics and our stance on Real Money Trading. They have been controversial mechanics with many suggestions about removing them, and with the Steam launch coming up by mid 2020 we feel this allows everyone to have time to adjust to it prior toit, meaning there will be no confusion about whether we allow it. Changes to store prices This time is also an opportunity for us to adjust our store prices for both premium and silver. After the shop maintenance today our store prices will be: 5 silvers - 6.49 euro (1.3 euro per silver) 10 silvers - 12.99 euro (1.3 euro per silver) 20 silvers - 21.99 euro (1.1 euro per silver) 40 silvers - 43.99 euro (1.1 euro per silver) 50 silvers - 49.99 euro (1.0 euro per silver) 100 silvers - 99.99 euro (1.0 euro per silver) Premium time 1 month: 7.99 euro 2 months: 15.99 euro 3 months: 20.49 euro (85% original price) 6 months: 38.39 euro (80% original price) 12 months: 67.19 euro (70% original price) These prices will be the same across Xsolla and PayPal and effective after the store update. Steam server connections These changes allow us to announce something else we have been working towards, and that is how the Steam servers will integrate with our existing servers. The Steam servers and the regular Wurm Online servers will be available via BOTH clients, and simply be disconnected via mail and travel. This will mean that all servers can be accessed from Steam, as well as the Steam servers accessible via the regular client. This will still require separate accounts. Moderation This does mean that selling silver or any other ingame goods and accounts after the cut off date (1st March 2020) will lead to moderation penalties including suspension of accounts. During the last update we included several new logging tools in order to help GM’s track items and silver trades, we’ll be using this period to test it out and make adjustments if necessary. As Real Money Trading has been in the game for such a long time, we’re aware many merchant threads do mention sales of silver, as well as official comments, so we’ll be spending this month updating all of our documentation to remove it. We will also be working with players in ensuring their forum market posts are in line with the new rules, such as hiding or editing threads that include it. This is a big change for all of us, and while we've done our best to address the issues you might raise already, we will be here to answer all of your remaining questions, and Retrograde will be more than happy to discuss it during our live-stream on Sunday at 9pm UTC as usual. If you have any really cool, or better yet semi-unique, items or a particularly nifty character which I might want, and you are looking to offer a favorable deal to ensure you get it done in time we may be able to work something out. Shoot over a PM with what you're thinking and I'll get back to you. I'm mostly interested in curiousities. No promises to buy anything, but I'm willing to consider most stuff with a few exceptions: Common tools/weapons/gear (even with great enchants) are not of interest unless its a stunningly good deal.     I am building a rather large castle city themed deed using rendered walls I intend to paint. I am using bridges extensively in areas, and really wanted to use rendered bridges as well but do not have the option to paint them to make them match the rendered walls when I paint them, so I'm using wooden bridges instead because they go well with the way I intend to do the walls. Being able to paint bridges though to match our walls would be fantastic for situations where bridges are part of the structure itself. Even just for the fun of being able to paint a bridge whatever color we wanted would be fun, but especially in building situations would it come in handy.

    I mean they definitely can. The company is allowed to do what they want when they want in terms of punishing an account, it would just take them getting enough potential evidence to avoid backlash. No mmo has a real system in place to detect RWT, but they can see signs of it, and continued signs would lead to action. Discussing how someone could be able to get away with RWT in the future isn't a great idea on the forums, but their main target is likely players who do it continuously. Someone dropping expensive items or 50s 3-4 times over the course of a few months is suspicious and likely grounds for them to take action.

    The prices of Wurms economy is based on the same principles of a normal market: Supply and Demand. Prices are as high as they need to be because of this principle, and the only thing that's been keeping up their prices all these years has been RMT(bar a few exceptions since recent updates). Most of these items experiencing price drops is due to the lack of demand for said products, go ask the the average player if they need more dirt and they'll show you the k's they're sitting on.

    New Elevation would have been fine if they would have allowed PMK's. It was mentioned several times, the devs refused, and they saw the result....Failevation 3.0.

    I know like me longtime players are tired of building house after house and would like to have more to use their building skills on ..Building structures that would make use of building and crafting both would be a highly embraced IMO. Things like Saw Mills for crafting wooden planks or wood beams from logs, or Grain Mills for our crops. Could be large alliance projects even. Wind , Water powered by streams or ocean .it would require crafting and building could have parts to be repaired etc. Large grain silos would be nice to store large qty of corn, seeds other grains etc. I could see some needing a water tower , I have ran out of water from my well while working on dyes many times ..they would also at a nice feel to villages, even putting deeds name on them as an option. We could mine coal and have coal or wood powered train system that players could build from stations that would work like wagoners but could be used by players to travel and livestock and large items to be moved. Also a lot of times players move from one deed to a new one , many complain it takes forever to move all their items with a wagon making many long trips back and forth .why not allow for wagons to be connected to make hauling a bit easier ..just a couple wagons hitched together would be useful for moving , logging and im sure other times. Contraption for making glass items would be a fun craft, windows and vases and dishes could be added like pottery skill. And last my personal item that i think would be fun is a new skill in barbering . we have the tools for most part with scissors and dyes, a few more added items like chairs and shears and shave cream etc idk if that is ever gonna be possible but it would be a fun skill to try to add into game (Not holding my breathe for it ). Just game is getting stale with nothing new to build or do ..Please help

    Overhauling and rebalancing PvP for the same twenty people that want to PvP is out of the question. I am not frustrated at Budda or the devs for "abandoning" PvP development, I'm frustrated at the attrition of players in Wurm as a whole, which has had a proportional effect to the population on PvP servers. But anyone with any knowledge of PvP whatsoever knows that the attrition of the PvP player base is our own fault... one death at a time. PvP suffers from the same ailment as PvE - lack of players... but the difference between the two is that PvP is much more linear in strategy and results. On Xanadu, a new player might quit the game simply because they suddenly realize the amount of effort required to build a deed, a large house or even a simple 2x2 shack. In PvP, people quit because they die, not to @Enki or to trolls, but instead to simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time... with the help of a few huge axes and a dead horse or two.

    I've always wanted to leave a rake leaning up against the wall by my farm fields rather than having it sitting flat on the ground. It would provide utility as well as aesthetics and doesn't seem particularly challenging to add.

    How is a new player unable to make a guard tower? To me, summoning the "king's guard" should take quite a few resources and effort. Mining out the rock shards for it is about 10 tiles of rock being torn down - not that hard. Making the bricks for it - another few seconds of effort per rock shard. Getting the clay can be difficult depending on your location, but the time required to actually gather it is quite low. Though it might be a pain on Freedom, none of this is especially difficult or complex. I'm not sure about the "rate of attachment" to a guard tower, as that's not something I've tried to do on a fresh account on the server cluster I frequent.. but that part might be worth looking into.

    Copper Canyon is welcoming anyone who wants to join! We are M 22 on the in-game map right between the Eastern Steppe and Crystal Lake. We have space enough space for someone to build in a 5x4 area, or you can just live in the main building. We are part of a alliance called Eastern steppe alliance or ESA for short, everyone is surrounding the east steppe. Our mine is ready for use it had lead, gold and iron, and it is connected to the capital of ESA witch is Oak Harbour. Copper canyon has been settled here for 1 month, and no plans of disbanding anytime soon. The main building is the workshop / home with supplies for anyone to use, just replenish them as you go, if there is something are are not sure about do not feel afraid to ask me about it. The deed is not enclosed at all, so aggros will wander in, we do not have any Templars, but there is a guard tower on-deed, but still be on the look out for them. For the most part, our alliance is made up of folks who play somewhat "hermit" style. We're all happy to help as and when we can, but mostly do our own thing. If you're looking for a village with lots of village-participation activities to get involved in, we are probably not the right fit. However, if you're just after a spot to hang out, craft, build, and maybe jump into a chat about how amazing cheese and bacon are, we've got you covered. You do not have to pay for Rent or Upkeep While upkeep would be appreciated you do not have to send your silver on it when you could use it elsewhere.     The time has come to end the arbitrary restrictions on mailing items. Not being able to mail certain items (merchant contracts, sleep powders, etc.) is simply not conducive to trade, frustrating, and unnecessary. With the Steam release approaching, now is the time to address this issue once and for all. Personally, I think if it can be placed in inventory it ought to be mailable, period. I also think the 1c money sink is not necessary, but that is another topic. Please allow all items to be mailed as long as the item can be picked up. It will fix some really bad Wogic and help the economy immensely.
