At 03:50 server time an issue occurred that affected the skills tables for both creatures and players. This caused an issue with reading skill data and possibly saving skill data. The issue was brought to my attention at 04:07 server time when players complained about having no skill and being unable to complete actions as a result. I had first attempted to repair the table while the server was running in order to preserve any data from skill gains that I could, but this only made the problem worse - the table seemed to have vanished due to the repair failing. Xanadu was brought down at 04:20 server time. At this point I was able to save the binary data of the skills table in order to preserve it and initiated a MySQL restart. When the database server came back online the table was restored and repaired. I verified that skill data seemed intact by picking a few players who had complained originally and finding their skills to have appropriate values. Xanadu was brought back online and available for connections at 04:50 server time. Due to this issue there may have been a period of about 30 minutes where skill ticks were not saved. I will be meeting with Samool in the morning to discuss compensation for the downtime and possible 30 minute skill loss. Most likely we will be doing 5 hours of sleep bonus on Thursday's restart. We will update to confirm the decision. Edit: Confirmed - 5 hours of sleep bonus on Jan 23 restart. Thank you for your patience.

Hello Wurm students! Today I'll be doing a news post on the current news going around the starter areas. As you can see up top we've got our fancy new title font and style ready to rock and roll from our original, in house design team. The font cartel has long been knocking at Wurms doors, demanding that we submit to using Times New Roman or Arial and to them we say "No! We will make our own, new and original font!" Enough of that, let's focus on the most important thing....The news! Priesty Bois stand triumphant! After an overwhelming amount of angry replies and envelopes filled with smallpox, we have decided to throw the community a lifeline. Libila will be replaced on Freedom with Nacho, effective the Jan patch. We hope that those Libila fans out there understand our difficult position, but between sea creatures turning to zombies on land and the newfound mycelium farms on Celebration and Pristine, we have decided that Libila is the best God to take the fall. Journal gets more pages! With the Jan patch we will also add two new tiers to the crafter journal. I have the pleasure to be able to tell you early what one of these tiers entails and give a rough guideline what to expect in the entry after, due to it still being work in progress. Destinations Unknown Found: Create a fantastic item Improve an item beyond quality level 99 Repair 6250 fences, floors or walls Create 5000 liters of wine Catch 1000 fish Mine an exquisite gemstone Perform 100000 actions Reward: A random tome! Titles Unknown: This tier is fluid, meaning it changes depending on the player! This tier is all about the tome you win. When you win your tome, you get a single charge tome automatically used on your account with full benefits and penalties. From there, you'll finish this tier by using other tomes to advance your title until you have went through all possible combinations. Reward: The ability to choose your sorcery title! We would like to note that using the incorrect tome is likely to brick your journal, and we will not be reversing this if you do it. So you've been warned! Wurm Online follows in the footsteps of The Witcher! No, Rolf has not sold the lore of Wurm to CD Projekt Red for a few Euros! We are happy to confirm that Netflix has chosen Wurm to be the next game to get a dedicated series on their platform. Auditions for roles are still ongoing, however we can confirm that the director has already signed on to the project. Soon, we will have a thread Q&A with director M. Night Shyamalan to answer all of the questions. Confirmed roles so far are: Ryan Gosling - Protagonist Sean Bean - Deedmate of protagonist Willem Dafoe - The Goblin Leader Benedict Cumberbatch - Venerable Blue Dragon Danny DeVito - Angry Old Troll Adam Sandler - GL-Freedom jester Jim Carrey - Darwin Grant MacDonald - Oblivionnreaver Enki - Takeshi Kitano You wanna pizza me? We will be introducting pizza ovens to the game, which will take those endless amounts of sandstone and marble bricks you all have around deed. Using one of these pizza ovens adds +1QL to your pizza output, with rarity boosting that effect. Expect low market prices for these due to overabundance of rare bricks. They do look pretty though, so maybe it's time for some cool new deed decorations with them? Wurm got a 25 (s)killstreak! As a bonus way to absolutely demolish the mobs on Northern Xanadu, we will be adding killstreaks to the world of Wurm. Each kill you get with your weapon of choice counts towards a total kill count logged in event tab, and once you hit 25 kills, you can unleash your inner rage and kill everything within 25 tiles! This counter is reset each time the player is hit as a balance countermeasure, and the killstreak effect when used will give a random skill tick the same way Mindstealer would. Each mob gives a different killstreak name, so get hunting and discover your inner beast. Nacho is always watching Saving the biggest news for last, we will be removing the Libila colossus as a craftable item and replacing it with the colossus of Nacho. As there is currently no model due to our art team being too busy making Jackal skins for troll clubs, branches and mallets, we are opening the floodgates to you, the community! Design how you imagine Nacho to look each time you picture him, draw it to the best of your ability, taking as many hours as you need in your paint programs and post it here. To help your minds visualise how the demigod himself would look, I will be showing off our first submission from our very own Retrograde. We know it's pretty much already a perfect idea of how the colossus should look, but feel free to attempt to prove us wrong. Entries close in 5 days from this post going up, so get arty people. And that brings the news to a close this quarter. We hope you understand our position on the upcoming changes and will help us make Wurm the best it can be. Thank you for your patience with what I'm sure you'll agree, are the best quality of life changes you've seen posted in a news thread so far. As always, keep on Wyrming...

https://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Mole_senses For Magranon priests to have their spell Mole senses upgraded. To also include a tile height, which should work both in the mine level and above ground. This would add more utility to Magranon Priest and to justify the 60 favor casting cost.

In order to better consider the situation no doubt. 🧠

Further, mole senses needs to work exactly the same way as surface prospecting on rock. Don't just tell me "there is iron nearby". Tell me the quality, how many veins, etc.

Thanks for featuring my deed ❤️ I own Celestial Seaport, and Rockdawgz owns Celestial Heights. They are separate deeds We are just best wurm friends, who moved together from another server and deeded right next to each other ^ ,^ I'm glad you enjoyed my little crafting hall so much ❤️

Could we get Friend request event text in a different colour, and or a flashing message over the screen once one is sent ? So darn easy to miss as it is now.

View from Crystal Lake Oak Harbour is located at M21 on the in-game map, right on the eastern shore of Crystal Lake. It's a nice, quiet area with rarely seen neighbors, and loads of open space nearby, for those who prefer a bit of elbow room. We've been located at this spot for 13+ years now, so there is a lot of history and a strong bond to the area - meaning we're not going to 'up sticks' and leave you homeless. The deed has a very large mine, packed with iron of all qualities, and cursed with loads of gold and sandstone. We've also got zinc, tin, copper, silver, and marble. Clay and tar are right on the shore below the bridge. Our adjoining deed, Oak Harbour Farms supplies nearly 1000 tiles of farmland for any aspiring farmers or ranchers. (Oak Harbour Farms has been let go to lower upkeep costs, but the space is still open for farming.) A large, stocked workshop is open to all villagers, with some basic tools and materials provided. You'd have free reign over a section of land to terraform and build whatever your heart desires. The amount of land is negotiable, depending on how many villagers we have, how active you are, etc., but roughly 10x10 as a general rule. Or, you can just chill in one of the secure apartments inside the castle and make use of the community buildings. There's also plenty of building space within the mine if you'd like to live as a dwarf! If you are offended by the colour pink, I am terribly sorry... Hunters flourish in the area, as we're surrounded by woodland, and next to the Eastern Plains steppe, which is a great locale for your first forays into fighting. Please be aware Oak Harbour does not have templars, and the deed isn't fully enclosed, so be prepared to defend yourself against (or hide from) aggros in the area! There are guard towers that cover the area if you get into a pickle, though. For the most part, our alliance is made up of folks who play somewhat "hermit" style. We're all happy to help as and when we can, but mostly do our own thing. If you're looking for a village with lots of village-participation activities to get involved in, we are probably not the right fit. However, if you're just after a spot to hang out, craft, build, and maybe jump into a chat about how amazing cheese and bacon are, we've got you covered. We do not ask for "rent" or "tax" toward the upkeep of the deed or anything else. While donations to upkeep are certainly welcome, there is zero pressure to spend your hard-earned silver on it. If you might be interested, leave a reply here, send me a forum PM, or catch me in game, and I will do my best to answer any questions you might have. No bigots. No beggars. No bullies. bull****... for example... in granado espada it was all about teleports... PoE is all about teleports... you just GO TO WHERE THE FUN IS... it's not about the journey, sometimes you just want to be where you can do the thing you want and not waste time on the scenic road

That logic is flawed in itself. Free to play games use that technique to make things intentionally slow in order to "manipulate" players into buying "speed boost" packs to complete actions faster. But that's just petty game design focused on greed and exploiting player psychology. But wurm doesn't have such options, instead what we have are skills, tools and spells to make things fast and of high ql. There's a HUGE difference between doing things at a slow place by game design VS making them tedious. I made a specific distinction between "difficulty" and "tedious" . What inherent difficulty used to be there in transferring 10 000 items from one bsb to another? The repetion in itself was tedious and was offputting to many. This isn't about making "little changes that would please x player" but rather logical game design decisions that FREE UP time for players to actually ya know....enjoy the game? There is literally nothing rewarding in traveling after you explore a server. Traveling becomes a chore, like many things, which ultimately tends to snowball into players getting burned out or quitting. Why do so few people do rifts these days? Little reward to even make the trip. Why do you think players enchant grass? So they don't have to go through the tedium of having to replant each week grass or farm tiles for horses. Anyway, I dont know why I keep hammering the same point. People that keep saying "wurm is a niche game, things are supposed to be slow, yada yada" keep forgetting that player population has dropped to critical levels that aren't sustainable. Yeah it's a niche game....that's going to be a nice epitaph for it with the mentality that "everything HAS to be slow."

Oh thank you! I thought it was nicer coloured deeds, leave valdor on tundra tiles, vacation buckets and a polar bear in every home!
  16. 1 point
No offer has probably been made because much like myself who would love to have it dont even know where to begin for a price....
  17. 1 point
Well, lucky for you, I am here to help out. In addition to the nicer colored buckets (true story), you also promised polar bears on the tundra tiles, vacation deeds, and a Valdor action figure in every home. The last one seemed especially important...

Using wurm online assets would be a violation of our copyright, and would constitute using them in another game. I'll leave this thread locked but visible for the time being, but will be removing it as well.

This needs to be a continuing thing, seriously, or not, it’s a thing of sublime and unbearably accurate satire, 11/10, world read again for more subtle yet fun digs at everyone and everything Wurmian. Just absolutely top drawer.

Keywords "to be efficient" It's not necessary to play the game, just like circle of cunning isnt necessary to skill. But if you're arguing enjoyment/efficiency then sure, people will have different ideas. Personally I've rarely actively played on two accounts at the same time, and have been a solo account player for 95% of the time.

Fully agree, grateful that you are doing this service for the community. And you are right, it is up to the requester to care for the exact coordinates, and now at least confirm that the assumption about the location is true. The hints have been given.

Scratch that, was last patch. Was an unintended side effect of the loyalty system transfer option, it was changed to only be available if the option was selected. Will see about having it re-enabled for the month of Feb and update here. Will be enabled on the end of Jan patch for one month until end of Feb patch. This is the full warning and I'll add it in next week's VI!

No more steam updates for unlimited.. seems the game is going downhill. Wont play online no more because of them abandoning unlimited.

What I'm feeling from this page is that maybe it's worth delaying player god removal until Feb to minimise short term damage and allow some priest spells to be added, adjusted, reshuffled and maybe even follower stuff to be looked at, which would seem like a bloody good idea considering how short term the alert was

That directly contradicts Stop making statements without even presenting arguments to substantiate them is a mediocre internet discussion behaviour. What i said is not a contradiction because you can complete a goal by playing 1h/day is just going to take you longer. The choice of playing god knows how many hours a day is the player's choice. So if i play 5h/day to complete that goal faster than i would by playing 1h/day and burned myself out in the process then is my fault not the game's design. They even have the fatigue system put in in order to stop nerds going full wurm You never did something you liked and hoped you will never get tired of it but you know you eventually will? If not then you might be the perfect boyfriend. You miss an important factor in your thinking: Is called adaptation. You want the devs to adapt to your requirements while refusing to adapt to what they decided they want their game to be and claim is flawed design that makes people not want to play the game. It might be in your case but that just means Wurm might not be for you or that you are operating on a different consumer market speed of playing games. Slow down. Chill. Play Wurm to relax not to complete quests. Is why they did not even put quests and raids in it. My thinking is: i saw Wurm i informed myself what is about i knew it was a game where everything you do is dependant on a skill and on that said skill's level. At that point i made a decision if i want to play it or not and if i am willing to accept and adapt to the concept of the game and be okay with it. I knew i get too focused and invest too much time trying to complete an objective and burned myself along the way. The time you spend playing is your call not the devs. You want to make "little changes that would please me" and turn Wurm into a casual 1 month experience be sort of another flavor of the month game you buy on steam and then stop playing after making a house and a boat and just tell your friends you cannot wait for them to make wurm 2 but with better graphics this time and flying mounts. Wurm is still monthly subscription is in their interest for things to be slow. I want them to switch to PoE style where all gameplay aspects are free and they sell skins and cosmetics and stash slots (stash not inventory) for money. PvE skills and actions in Wurm are slow. You have faster everything in Wurm Unlimited, 4x actions on Jackal, 2x xp on Epic with guarantee skill ticks. Choose any of those if pve Wurm is too slow for you. Is also very ignorant behaviour to think that after 15 years of Wurm you are the first guy to show up and say: but what if they make this and that like all flavor of the month games out there? Dont they want ppl to play the game?!!!!!!! The answer is they do.. is why they don't make it a forgettable experience. You want to achieve something in Wurm you can if you work hard enough and long enough.
