When mining, it's convenient to know if I'm about to mine a tile that is or isn't on-deed. However, barring certain tricks (firepillar, painstaking tile counting) you don't know if a cave wall is a deed/perimeter tile until you've already mined it out. This can be costly or at least irritating when trying not to open up your deed's mine to non-deeded territory. I have a simple suggestion: When examining any sort of cave wall tile, add deed/perimeter information to the examine message, like you would get when examining the cave floor. If this would have some kind of unfortunate PvP implication, it could be limited so it only displays when you're already on the deed or its perimeter, so people can't use this to determine an angle of attack when mining into a deed, if that's a thing people do in PvP.

I posted this in the bug report of damage being taken but feel I should add it here too: My apologies for getting it wrong!

Afraid so, I gained ptsd after the brief period we were hunting uniques. Not so much the uniques themselves but the people that we encountered along the way. Wurm used to be a mysterious place that I loved exploring and so many people I admired, respected and wanted to meet. Sadly it turned out to be a cess pit of toxic, full of selfish individuals in sad little cliquey groups, most of my friends stabbed me in the back and now Wurm will never be the same again to me. On the plus side I get to take away with me the most amazing thing, a diamond in the rough, Zorana. We met in the game and have both realised that we found what we were missing in our lives. All the proceeds from sales are going to our wedding which is in May. Therefore, I am not bitter, I thank Wurm for what it has given to me over the years and now with the final piece I shall go and live a happy life. I shall do my best to stay in touch with the few that remained true.

Since sadly seals will not be removed from the game. I would like a new seals killed achievement so I can track the amount of seals I've put down.

I had the pleasure of wandering around your deed sometime in the past couple of years. Such an amazing place, really, truly impressive. Imo, needs to be a heritage site in wurm. Best deed ever!

Bears. Bears made my start difficult. And a snake. I wanted a bit of a "cabin in the woods" experience, but from what I could see it would be helpful to be part of a village as well. I spotted an ad for a village in the NW corner of Indy and started the long walk from Haven's Landing (with at this stage only the ingame map for navigational aid). I got caught by a bear down near Crystal Canal, and on respawning back at HL I headed straight back to get my gear from the corpse, little realizing that the bear wasn't done with me. Gear recovered, somehow I managed to run enough to get away. Somewhere near the south end of what I now know is the Great South Mountain Road, another bear spotted me before I spotted him. Inspired, I ran into the sea..... AACCHH! IT FOLLOWED ME! Cue Benny Hill music as I ran around trying to find a way to shake this bear. Bears 2, me zero. Respawn at Freedom Markets, head off finding my way to find the wrapped bear-toy. I pitched my tent a little way off, so that when the inevitable happened I would have a nearby spawn point. The bear seemed to be wandering off, so I grabbed my gear, only to be chased again by the bear. I headed for the tent thinking I would be safe. Bears 3, Me 0. My latest corpse was inside the tent. So was the bear. So was the new me. Benny Hill sequence again until I was again inspired. I got a reasonable distance before Bears 4 and then respawned in the tent, with my gear-holding corpse. Hooray! I left the bear harrying deadme#4 and headed back up the highway. I came across an anaconda in the middle of the road. I climbed the steep verge, and came back down on a side road. As I was trying to edge back onto the highway beyond the snake without attracting its attention, I miss-stepped and slid down a very steep ravine to wind up trapped in between terrain an an estate wall. I managed to get out of that and was wandering about trying to work out where I was and how to get back to somewhere useful when a "Venerable Champion Brown Bear" hit me from behind. I tried to run, but really had no chance. Bears 5; me nothing. I was starting to think that if all this game consisted of was trying to recover gear from the last death then it wasn't my idea of fun. Fortunately someone came to my rescue, dealt with the bear (that was indulging in extreme overkill) and gave me a lift back to the markets. If it wasn't for that help, I would likely have simply logged out and never logged back in.

btw.. proposing the name for this achievement to have 'unseal-ing' wording in it.. seems quite fitting... <.<

+1 Totally agree - heritage site - especially if it is not bought by some rich player.

The idea of being able to make a document (at your own impetus) to transfer ownership is a nice one. It's nothing like the old writs of ownership. JS

Farewell to the both of you. I hope you return. I have always enjoyed dealing with Zoranah, and I wish I could have got to know you better also. I don't know much about the world of unique hunting, but in the world of Wurm Online, you will both be missed. Take care, and I wish you would both return to us after the honeymoon!

Retrograde, can you please next time you run an event be specific it is for freedomers only, would save some time for the remaining epic players running around with silly hopes to find stuff thats not there, as now your saying "servers" implement as it includes all of them. Just saying, as silly mistakes like that do not credit you good reputation as Community Relations Coordinator.

After going thru the Golden Valley (?) tutorial - and whatever it's faults, Haven's Landing has to be better than that - I chose Summerholt on Xanadu. An hour and a half later a wolf killed me as I was exploring. I was never able to find that corpse, so of course lost all my droppable gear. Luckily i had pitched my tent, so didn't lose that, but hadn't figured out I could put stuff in it yet. Over the next week or so after I couldn't get free food from the bartender, keeping fed and outrunning mobs were my primary concern, and I wasn't good at either But I was hooked. I found the wurmpedia, and some newb tutorials and what-to-do-as-a-new-player posts, and eventually found out i could bury my dozen or so corpses scattered around the area, rather than dragging them into a bush to hide my shame I occasionally found items scattered around, and several veterans in the area, Jackjones, Huser, and Odr, in particular, helped out with tips, advice and the occasional upgraded tool. Once i joined NEXA, everything became easier as they are a wonderful caring alliance, more than willing to share their knowledge and wisdom. Rather than join Amish Estates, which in those days was a thriving village, I founded my own deed over the remains of an old deed (Mistvaginery's (sp?) place), and set about really learning the game. I think this game should be hard for new players, it's a semi-realistic real world sandbox after all, you wouldn't expect to be able to strike out into the wilderness IRL and thrive right off the bat without any survival skills. And yeah, being in a village and part of a community is easier than going off on your own. Choose your own path, but accept help when it's offered. The thing I struggled with the most, other than the aforementioned food and mobs, was moving and talking at the same time, and learning all the controls and how to do basic things. But that has clearly not deterred me, as I've averaged over 8 hrs a day for the last 2 yrs and change Love this Game!!

Trolls and hell hounds as a new player, sneaky trolls you wouldn't even know they were till "wham" lights out. Never had issues with veteran players that I can remember. Once I joined a village things went much easier. The worst thing new players get stuck in their heads is having a deed right off. I advocate you join a village with a good Mayor who will help answer questions but not baby sit either. I have learned from early mistakes as a Mayor trying to babysit new villagers. Let them work at their own pace and just be there to answer questions and occasionally kill a mob. The Hermit mentality can really kill a new players experience through frustration I believe.

getting knocked off my horse and killed by a Lava Fiend, getting eaten by a Crocodile that was hiding (invisible) on the side of a mountain. thanks to odynn fur helping me retrieve my corpse for the latter. The only thing that very nearly made me quit was a veteran player 1 week in but ive mentioned that elsewhere and mystrix has reported a similiar experience. I've nothing particularily useful to add to this thread. I was told how challenging the game is and how few people it appealed to, course that wasn't a problem for the finance model back then. Expectation is the thing, if you're prepared for wurm it's hard to get discouraged.

not intended to take damage, will be fixed! Will take damage from use and can be improved (after update) Also a craftable version will become available shortly, it will provide less sleep bonus though (similar to how the saddle sacks reduce weight by more than the saddle bags)
