In the far distance, the last popping sounds of the Blackmoor Impalong fireworks display could be heard. One by one, our friends departed Independence but not for home. No! For they came to Release. Far across the seas, their swords raised high and with the wind on their backs (hopefully). It was on this cold winter's night when every man, woman and child gathered for a sight not seen by many in their lifetime. 'Twas a great Raging Black Dragon and he had but one message... "Join me on Release for the Blackmoor Impalong Afterparty! A PUBLIC DRAGON SLAYING!" Well, who would turn down such a request! Location is the deed Knight's Rest, K18. See y'all there. Bring your party pants! *due to unforeseen circumstances of the RL variety the event will no longer be streamed on the Wurm twitch. location will be added Saturday - will be coastal location. Loot roll will be public -- one roll per RL person, must be on kill list (niarja/twitter). (ps please don't bring 3 million alts. We'd all like to be able to move, and actually leave with some scale. Please be reasonable ❤️ ) Special thanks to finders and penners and live bait: Brainer, Malokai and Deri.

It's still possible. Not worth the effort required. Maybe now that finding uniques is almost entirely rng you'll find someone perma-penning uniques to do it though, seeing as they can get people banned for trying to interfere

Hi all. After getting the test servers running in AWS, I turned my attention to our build servers. While doing so I identified several areas where security could be improved and have been working on that. I've also been struggling to find ways to export our current Jenkins pipeline into a format that can be safely committed to source control and imported back without issue. I'm tempted to forego this in the interest of furthering our on-boarding to AWS though. If anyone has had experience with Jenkins jobs in SCM, please feel free to comment! Finally, I've been doing more research into some best practices regarding managing the Wurm server containers. One thing that test has shown me is that my current set up is harder to manage than I'd like. While it's better than what we had before on the test side of things, it's still not where I want it to be for us to go live. I'd like to build monitoring and alerts into this infrastructure as well. I look forward to testing the new infrastructure changes I've made in the coming weeks. Thanks for the patience and happy Wurming!

I am Qwizat, Mayor of the legendary Eden Village. We have 4 deeds, 3 housing, and 1 hunting. We have been around for years, but at this point I don't have the time to devote to the game i would like and its a wonderful place to build a community. See our video tour: I'm looking for someone who's got the energy, time, and enthusiasm to recruit and manage what was once a 30+ population village and get it back there. I will pay for all deed expenses and i will give you freedom and perms to improve upon what we already have. The job will go to the best qualified person I can find (which is why its here in auctions.) Only contact me at Qwizat.eden@edenvillage.com and i will get back to you asap.

This animal appears in medieval bestiaries. It really ought to be added to Wurm, perhaps as a unique. It defends itself by expelling a fearsome fiery fart. You can read more about it here.

I don't think the RMT is the real cause there. If something is shiny or has bigger numbers, people want it. There is loot drama in every game with loot.
  10. 2 points
And the real cause is RMT , pure greed above all else cause a lot of Wurms issues . To many use this game for personal cash grab ...

What I, btw., fail to understand, is how you can speak of intentions to improve QoL, and stubbornly stick to that horrible "light breeze" torture. Right now, returning from a fairly pleasant rift fight, I cannot get to bed for another one and a half hour for a tour which can be made in 45 minutes (which still is not few). I understand if someone rage quits about.

How to Make Everyone Happy: A Guide Step 1: Use The Gallows to explain why players are banned. So many topics involve people discussing bans. Earlier this year, The Gallows sub-forum was created to provide transparency about moderation actions taken against player accounts. In the whole year, only four threads have been posted. Are these the only bans that occurred for the entire year? Even in the topics posted, the details are extremely sparse. No evidence is provided and nothing aside from "these people were banned and here's why." I was hoping for something a bit more thorough where a statement would be made. Take control of the narrative in these situations and provide your viewpoint and tangible evidence! This would be a good step towards satisfying the players who are upset with how these bans were handled, as well as reassure those who don't care that the game is being properly moderated. It's a win-win and it baffles me why you wouldn't use the position of authority to explain why actions were taken. Step 2: Stop dodging around tough questions and just answer them flat. Additionally, learn to actually admit fault when there is some. You'll never persuade someone that your viewpoint is correct if all you're doing is dodging each point after point. It's a miserable tactic that just leads to endless fighting (which is why this thread is 5 pages long). So enough with quoting someone and pointing out minor inaccuracies. Tackle the big picture! What's after Steam? What happened to the old projects that were mentioned in previous roadmaps? Are there going to be adjustments to systems that were released and were not fully successful? Make a nice, clear statement that tackles all of the big picture problems! It's also important to know when to take a knee. I'll start for you - the priest rework was a failure. It didn't meet the markers it set out for. It turned PvP into a spellflinging contest and needed significant adjustments to PvE balance, including some spells that were simply not useful. Sure, it can be argued that many of the goals for the priest rework was met. Casting combat spells is useful again. Healing exploitation was fixed, as well as significantly shaking up the healing-centric PvP meta that existed. There's significant improvements to QoL for enchanting and similar. But all of that good comes with the bad. For PvP, it felt like non-priests were useless. For PvE, healing in rifts was significantly nerfed and made doing rifts with few players significantly harder. Jewelry enchants were annoying to create for PvP purposes. If there's one regret I have from leaving the team, it's that I wasn't able to refine the priest system after significant feedback came through. Changes of that scale aren't going to come out perfect on the first try. It saddened me greatly that most of the work I did ended up being mostly abandoned, with just a few nerfs at the combat spells and some minor bug fixes thrown at it. However, time and time again after revisiting the forums every now and then, I'm reminded why I left. All of the reasons I outlined are still an issue. Jackal was essentially designed in secret and launched without public testing. The concerns I had for Jackal came true almost completely. People who wanted a hunting server didn't find Jackal satisfying, while new players had to jump through hoops to get there. Moderation actions are still being taken without properly informing the player why. For the most part, they're not even bad moderation actions. It's just the players not knowing why - that's the issue - and that remains the case today. The common theme here is communication. Improve the communication to the players. You'll have less questions to answer, and they'll have less anxiety about the future of the game.

So I got to thinking, there are a lot of minor, everyday annoyance in wurm. My current pet peeve is sudden withering (from very old sprouting to withered overnight), it's a bugger. I dread this happening to my trellises since I can't simply remake them! The thing is, it's one of many tiny annoyances in wurm every day. Removing them would remove a lot of the challenge from the game, but giving an alternative fix might be something nice. And this is where unicorn horn wands come in. Take one unicorn horn (weight of 1.5), have a jewellery smith attach a gem (product QL capped by gem QL, weight = 2), then have a priest cast a spell on the wand (or use the appropriate spell rune on a wand) to give it an effect. ANYONE can use a wand and wands vanish once their QL drops below 0. Unicorn Horn Wand + Wild Growth = Wand of Rejuvenation (use on a withered tree/bush/trellis to turn it back into a very old tree at the cost of 20 favour and 5 wand QL) A couple more examples: Unicorn Horn Wand + Heal = Wand of Curing (use on any diseased player or animal to remove disease at the cost of 30 favour and 10 wand QL) Unicorn Horn Wand + Mend = Pottery Sealing Wand (use on any damaged pottery item to remove 20 damage at the cost of 20 favour and 5 wand QL) Unicorn Horn Wand + Strongwall = Wand of Stable Footing (use on any unreinforced mine floor tile to reinforce it (default reinforced floor texture) at the cost of 30 favour and 20 wand QL) Optional Extra: Give priests a damage reduction on wands [Damage =Base Damage*(1-(channeling/200))] Edit: Changed borked formula

This is something that has bothered me since the very first day I started playing Wurm: The fact that you can not strip down to your "undies" but instead are forced to wear a raggedy shirt and pants. Instead, Wurm's default "naked" skin should have undergarments, just like every other MMO. For those who really like the default outfit, have that as actual clothing pieces instead that can be optionally dressed if so desired. - I want to feel fully immersed in a roleplay sense, thus - I would naturally want to take those clothes off whenever I enter the water to go swimming - it just feels wrong to be wearing a linen outfit when swimming - It restricts my options for customizing the look of my character because I always have to "deal with" and try to hide the raggedy outfit underneath. - I'm guessing that the origins of the "naked linen outfit" was due to starting with a new character and it would feel weird to start off completely naked, but now with newbie characters starting out with a set of leather armor, that's not a concern and hence that default skin is not needed anymore A super quick and rough idea of what that could be:

My deed dropped less than 24 hours ago and some upstanding player came along and built a shed 3 tiles from where my token stood, just to steal a planted HOTA. Now, they've got the HOTA and I am left with a shed in the center of what was my deed so that I may not deed again. I've already put in a /support in, though I don't think it'll go anywhere. I've read here in the forums from others with similar thefts that have claimed that the team considers using a shed to circumvent anti-theft mechanics on PVE to be "fair game". Whatever. Another ridiculous decision in the long list of Wurm's ridiculous decisions... Standing here at the location my token once was, I am now over 3 hours in waiting for a response for my /support call. And when a GM finally does contact me, in the off chance that they're able to help and remove this shed from the center of my deed, the question begs to be answered: Do I really want to bother redeeding? Honestly, at this point, no. There are many reasons, including the ever-dwindling player base. No, I'm not rage quitting over a silly statue. But I am finally giving up, disappointed. How many are left playing this game? And out of those people, how many are not even giving a deed owner 24 hours to redeed before hawkishly building sheds inside of the deed to swoop down on valuables? And how many of them are leaving their sheds behind, as a big middle finger to the person they just stole from, blocking them from redeeding over their hard work? Please, I implore you (the remaining community) to take one thing from my post: This game is dying and doing scumbag things like tossing up (and then leaving) a shed in the middle of a village that has just disbanded, just so you can acquire a 5s item, is going to leave you with nobody left to play with. To all of those who I consider my friends, I will try to see you one, last time in-game. Some of you aren't very active so I don't know if I will get to visit everyone. For all of those that I've had good relations with, thank you for the 10+ years of fun gameplay and a great community. If any of you would like to keep in touch, feel free to add me on Steam. Send a private message if I won't recognize you by your Steam handle.

Fairly sure they're already in the game, they just can't be bought or found anywhere. Functionally they work, they just haven't added them. Why not? Who knows. Web shop was something that seemed to be thrown around but now the mention of it just gets a reply of "yeah don't expect it anytime soon"

Java 10 is not an LTS version, currently Java 11 is what you should be using right now, followed by Java 17 next year. I am not sure how to change that client side, I only know how to do it server side. Maybe the client mod loader has an option to do so, but I am not sure, the server modloader does have an option for sure.

When I switched LlamaCity from a normal 2K map to a 4K map, I did an intensive search based on features versus price. I settled on a VPS from contabo https://contabo.com/?show=vps The 2 data centers are in Germany, but I've had zero problems with the service even though I'm in the US. I could have gone dedicated server, but since the VPS has been performing just fine, I saw no need for a dedicated. They don't seem to be overselling their VPS at least not in my case. I'm sure my package could run an 8K map easy enough which cost just a few dollars more than the game hosts I had used previously. They have many very affordable packages actually better then when I signed up. Llama City has been up since October 2015, and the current map has been up on Contabo since June of 2017. I set up auto pay through paypal and never give it a thought. You can also use Skrill if you prefer.

One thing that's wrong with Wurm that hasn't been mentioned is the behaviour of the community. Yes, that's right, it's OUR behaviour in Wurm that's wrong and that's one of the reasons people are leaving. Because they're fed up with how some players treat certain events, how some players were protected by (former) staff members and that certain players still try to monopolize some things. I'll post a list of examples, some just related to my homeserver, Xanadu, some are most likely happening at all servers. 1) Rifts: When rifts were introduced, they were consider as player events where a large group of players at a server gathered, build a protective area, including one or more altars dedicated to several Deity's (but Fo was always one of those), occasional imping and when the rift opened a group of 50+ players tried to shut it down. It didn't take long before some players realized that they could benefit from this by having alts nearby, making it a lot easier to harvest the resources the moment the last heart was sacced. As a counter reaction, it was decided to have players get a reward straight into their inventory, as well as some rift materials to avoid that kind of abuse. Nowadays we have players gathering near the rift area ample minutes before it opens, kill enough monsters to get the hearts for saccing and while one fool player still sacs the last hearts, the rest is already waiting with their axes and pickaxes raised to loot for rift mats as fast as they can, before everyone rushes off to their deed with their earned treasures. Gone are the days of having a player event; nowadays it has become a treasure hunt to gather as many mats as fast as you can, while also trying to get as many Rift points as possible. 2) Markets: At Xan we got a certain group of players who had the idea to set up markets near every starter towns the server has. Personally, I think the idea was quite a good one. Having one market near a starter town would give new players an opportunity to buy better equipment. However, where things went wrong is that one player owning many of those deeds, decided to drop 3-4 of his own merchants at the markets; making it quite hard for other players to compete. So what we got now is one merchant of player A selling tools, one merchant of player A selling weapons, one merchant of player A selling armour and one merchant of player A selling enchanted items and one merchant of player B selling a bit of everything. Eventually resulting at player B removing his merchant, because he won't make a profit at all. While all of that happened, one of the players of that specific group decided to drop a market deed basically at the doorstep of another player. When being asked about moving the deed, the comment "deed it or loose it" was used, that specific player got some protection of a (at the time) staff member, resulting in the player having access to the deed being lost, leaving the game. Taking quite some players from her alliance wit her. At the same time, a highway was messed up near another starter town - without informing or asking the builders about it - road signs were placed INSIDE! startertown borders; something you can't do as a regular player; meaning a staff member - my guess; the same former one that protected the player in the previous mentioned case - has given a regular player rights that player never should have gotten in the first place. And to conclude things, not that long ago, the same player decided to change a piece of highway at Newspring; without asking ANYONE!! living at that island if they would mind if he did that. And once again, using the same phrase: "deed it or loose it". 3) Prices of goods: With the amount of more skilled players increasing over time, the market slowly got flooded with higher ql items. Since it's always a matter of offer and demand when it comes to selling things, prices began to drop to make sure a player was able to sell what he made. The result is known; items costing 2-3 silver three years ago are being sold for 0.75 - 1 silver nowadays. When I began playing, a 70ql Knarr would cost a player 8S; an 80ql Knar would sell for 9S and a 90ql Knarr would sell for 10-11S. Not long ago, I saw a 90ql Knarr with either volume or speed rune and 43 Large crates being offered for the same 8S that would get you a 70ql ship four years ago. The reason is what I mentioned before, more and more players getting higher skills and the only way to compete with that is to offer better items. However, better items also have less decay, making it less useful to imp them or to sell new ones. Which results in more items flooding the market, resulting in a drop of prices to sell some, which results in higher items being sold etc. 4) Uniques and private hunting groups: Just like rifts, uniques are meant to be hunted down and killed as a community event. However, ever since I began playing this game four years ago, there have been private hunting groups who've been looking for, penning and killing uniques, after which they sold the blood / bones / hides / scale if they liked or used parts to either create armoud or potions which were sold. The "excuse" I heard for doing that is that the ones being part of a hunting group have to make enough money to cover the cost of the alts and the deeds used to find and pen the uniques. However, when it comes to deeding for a certain purpose, those building highway tunnels are having costs too. And unlike deeds set up for an unique slaying which often are only "active" for a few weeks, a tunnel project may take months; meaning the deed costs are significant more. Yet, the moment a player building a highway tunnel would set up something like a toll-booth over the highway, charging everyone who wants to us the tunnel 25c to cover the 6S that player spend to maintain a deed, quite some players wouldn't like that. But at the same time it's tolerated when a private hunting group is doing that and selling the items they got at high prizes, as their only competition is another private hunting group. 5) Impalongs: 5a) I won't spend much time at this, but has anyone noticed that we've had impalongs organized by the same persons for the past years now? When something like that happens, at some point no-one will organize an impalong, as we all know there's going to be one at "X specific date at Y specific deed / server". 5b) On top of that, the focus has changed from imping items for free with some games as minor entertainment, to major entertainment and arena fights and imping only done by those who aren't interested in fun and games; or those not being able to be online when the fun and games are happening. The result of that is that players are beginning to be left out and eventually decide they may as well leave the game completely. After all, why stick around in a game where you're considered a lesser part of the community, simply because you're living at another continent? Bottom line, While Wurm was a community driven game when some of us - and myself included - began playing, it's more and more becomming a game for a bunch of egocentric players who don't give a damn about others, as long as they're having a good time. Resulting in those who are willing to do things for the community either feel neglected, ignored or simply deciding to leave the game. And those players who're still prepared to do community things, are more and more keeping quiet about it and / or deciding it's not worth their time, money and effort anymore. Usually resulting in partially finished projects which are no good to anyone. Thorin

We have seen three attempts (Epic, Challenge and Jackal) of making a server/cluster with special rules. Epic had some success years ago, but it is gone now as far as I can see. Challenge died very quickly. Jackal saw some pupularity in the beginning but is now slowly fading. I doubt that a restart will see the same player surge as it had on day one. I understand that Steam will get its own server which will be separate from the rest to start with so the noobs dont riot on the core servers (is that really a problem with deeds and permissions?) But I hope the devs have learned from this and will focus their effort on the core cluster in the future.

I agree that the system itself is all udders-up. Rewarding people for -just- being in local is an asinine system. Its like claiming a mob on another mmo and then having to roll your reward with those who don't participate. Unique drama aside, this mechanic incentivises lazyness and foments drama. But banning people is not the answer, especially on a game that such a tiny playerbase. For example, lets take Lambq the Chinese player. Lambq is a player that barely speaks the language and never goes to the forums. Here is Lambq strolling around Deliverance on his cart looking for a place to mine gold. Suddenly Lambq's local fills with a group of 12 people. Curious by the group, Lambq goes searching and ends up finding the dragon fight! So Lambq sits in local to watch the fight. But the hunting team doesn't know who Lambq is and send him messages to leave local. Lambq ignores the messages because he cannot understand them. So the hunting team finishes their kill and call a GM. GM shows up, tries to converse with Lambq to no avail, assumes he is an alt and bans him. This scenario leaves a legitimate player with no ill intentions banned and with no recourse to appeal their ban because he doesn't even speak the language. What does this ban accomplish? Sure, we can argue that this scenario would never happen because GMs would do a thorough investigation, but please, we know this is not the case. Incidents much more simpler than this have resulted in bans that have had to be reverted (after arduous appeals). Bans should always be a last resort, and not handed out willy nilly as the go-to punishment for minor offenses. And yes, being in local of an Unique slaying is the definition of a minor offense. Set the loot to be received by those who engage and cause damage to the creature instead of being in local. You do it for skill gains and titles already, why not loot? It will solve 98.5% of the issues and would eliminate the need for a ban. Lets advocate for more people on our game, not less!

A kingdom on Chaos could have thrown out a better 'Stronghold' with their current numbers than what I see here. This project exhudes lazyness, not rush. My suggestion is in the future, let people test stuff and give their feedback pre release instead of trying to surprise people with shoddy, rushed work that will only piss off the community. You have a test server: use it! We could have told you long time ago this was going to fail. And dont say "this had to be done live" like you've said before. No it didn't. People dont want 'surprises', they want good content.

The Hunters Guide of Proper Unique Creature Hunting Etiquette To maintain proper etiquette when encountering a creature of unique stature, one must always heed to sportsmanlike conduct as written below. When you discover a unique creature, you have two courses of action available to you. The first course of action is to attempt to contain the creature so that it will go un-bothered until such time as you have fattened it up for slaughter. This is by no means the best option as any unique creature can escape any confinement you build at any time of its own choosing. Under no circumstances should a contained unique on or under a deed be 'lured' out by any means outside of the intentions of the hunting party with claim. This will be classed as griefing and will net the offender/s a ban. The second course of action, and most sportsmanlike to boot, is to gather your friends, family, coworkers, and any spare un-dead you may have lying around collecting dust, and have a splendifirous slaying party as soon as possible. Children always have lots of fun playing games like 'fingers and horns', 'tooth tail toe', 'foot toss', 'tug of entrails', ' and of course playing the old classic scene from the famous 'Swamp Wars' play and pretend to be Duke Skyrunner battling Barth Tater with bloody severed arm sabers. The adults meanwhile can butcher the rare and unique creature and create wonderful stews and other fine meals from the leftovers of the creature to eat as they haggle over the dispensation of the more valued body parts of each slain creature. There is of course a third action available to you, though I am loath to mention it, but you could, in theory, turn, run away, and pretend you never saw it. With multiple hunting parties hunting down these poor misunderstood unique creatures, recently, it has become such a war for the blood and other various body parts of each unique creature that many of the people hunting them are no longer having fun at this time honored blood sport. This is where proper etiquette must be applied for all to enjoy their kill and wear it too. So, with that in mind, let's lay down some etiquette for this wonderful tradition. First come first serve! What does it mean to be the first? I am so glad you asked. Normally, first person on scene is the one to claim the unique, but arguments do arise and we need something more solid to go on at this stage. So let us start a more tangible system by which if an argument were to arise, an arbitrator can be sent out to scout the situation, and determine decisively who is first. Step 1. Commit one of these actions within range of the unique. Mine a tunnel Build a colossus Dig a dirt, heap of sand, clay, tar, lava Plant a sign Cut a tree down Build a bridge Surface mine a shard Step 2. Remember where you committed the action! If the arbitrator cannot find proof of work, then your claim will be denied. Keep in mind, the above is only necessary if there is a dispute, which will likely only happen during the first few hours of discovery, but for your own sake, commit one of the above actions should you encounter a unique creature and wish to claim it for your own group to eviscerate. Containment Protocols! If you have chosen to lay claim to a unique, what do you do with it? Kill it of course, you silly dunderhead! Since most of you will not be able to take on a unique creature by your lonesome, you should gather up a slaughter party and throw a big bash for the unique creature as soon as possible. Unfortunately, it can take time to gather a large enough group of blood ravers to attend so you may decide to confine the unique creature in a 'pen'. This of course is not really intended, and unique creatures can escape on their own volition, so if you try to confine one of these poor Wurmland denizens, do not come calling to us when it escapes to get to the greener grass on the other side. Should the unique decide to escape your attempts at confining it, it is again wild and can potentially be claimed by another, as long as they follow the above steps, if your party is not actively present to maintain your original claim. Under no circumstances should a contained unique on or under a deed be 'lured' out by any means outside of the intentions of the hunting party with claim. This will be classed as griefing and will net the offender/s a ban. Attempting to merely 'pen' a unique creature without a deed such as, using a sealed mine or a fence may work as a temporary option, but once you leave the area, any claim to it becomes invalid! The slaying! This is by far the most fun part of the event. Unfortunately, some have tried to sully the experience and so we provide you with some basic common courtesies that all should respect. Courtesy #1 – If you are not with the slayer party that has claim to the unique creature, then leave the area! Courtesy #2 – Do not bring alts into the loot drop range. Courtesy #3 – Do not steal the corpse, body parts, or loot drops from the claimant party. Courtesy #4 – Under no circumstances should a contained unique on or under a deed be 'lured' out by any means outside of the intentions of the hunting party with claim. This will be classed as griefing and will net the offender/s a ban. Going against these courtesies of etiquette will be considered an act of griefing and will net the offender/s a ban. Community slayings! There are times in which hunting parties will organize a public slaying of a unique creature to share the spoils. These are come one, come all events. No one will be turned away from these, but a certain decorum of etiquette must be observed. Courtesy #1 – Do not steal the corpse, body parts, or loot drops from the organizers of the community slaying party. Courtesy #2 – Under no circumstances should a contained unique on or under a deed be 'lured' out by any means outside of the intentions of the organizing party with claim. This will be classed as griefing and will net the offender/s a ban. This guide will be updated and adjusted to counter loopholes as more scenarios are considered in order to keep these activities in line with the spirit of the game.

That small(er) bsb, which was requested multiple times, about 1/4 from the actual bsb size, so you can store some kindlings or other supplies without taking half the space in a room and without making any room look like a warehouse

My point is change the crafting to be more interactive or dont touch it at all, QoL is things that annoys me and doesnt bring me value as a player, that I cant keep animals alive unless I put them in a house because else the food decay in 2 days and before they have a chance to eat it, or the constant repair of stored tools on deed, lantern always decay whenever it used or not, there is many things to pick from. I mention fighting because other games do it a lot better where players have multiple options to fight and you have to use your brain to do good and use different strategies depend on what you fight. Similar approach could be taking to crafting so you as player didnt just have to chose right action depend on what game tells you but you actually had multiple choices and effect depend on previous result and success of action. Another thing is skill gain get rid of the illogical system where you need to use worst tool to gain skill.

Just a thought I've been tossing around in my head about the tutorial, and since that's what this topic has sort of turned into I suppose it's apporopriate to voice it here. And if someone else has suggested this, I apologize, I haven't read the entire thread word for word. I think starter gear should be given as reward for completing certain tasks within the tutorial. For example, you start out with nothing but a hatchet when you spawn into GV. Your first task: chop a tree (an easy tree--one log). When that is done, your reward is a carving knife in your inventory! Then your next task is to use that to make a kindling. When that is done, your reward is a steel and flint! Then, your next task: make a campfire. When that is done, you get a pottery bowl! So on and so forth until all of the "newbie" gear is achieved. It not only allows new players to learn what their tools do right off the bat without overwhelming them with an inventory of things they have no idea how to use, but it gives them a sense of accomplishment: "Look at all the things I HAVE EARNED, and I've only been in the game half an hour!!"

All loot comes comes in 25, 50,75 and 100 ql versions plus standard chance of rarity. Apart from the blessed seryll rings, the strength of the bonuses are determined by quality, as they take damage, the bonus will go down. THESE ITEMS ARE NOT REPAIRABLE This means that these items do have limited lifespans, and the market should have both a steady incoming supply without drowning it with these items. RINGS Generic blessed seryll ring with empty socket. Does nothing until you attach a gem which can be done by jewelry smiths of enough proficiency. These rings give certain situational bonuses that consume "charges". The first time you put it on it uses 1 charge then every hour another one is used up. Common lasts 50 hours, Rare 75, Supreme 100, Fantastic 150 (i.e. has this many charges). When removed they cause negative effect for 5 minutes depending on which gem is inside. Sapphire: Stamina reduction +5% causes Vulnerability when removed. Emerald: Dodge +5%, Clumsiness when removed Ruby: CR+2, Clumsiness when removed Opal: Spell resist base +5%, Exhaustion when removed Diamond: Healing effect +5%, Vulnerability when removed Star versions have an increased effect. Gem rarity changes the rift item to higher rarity if so. 2. Improves random skill skillgain 3. Prevents swimming damage 4. Ring of stealth. Improves chance of going stealthy 5. Ring of stealth detection. Improves chances of detecting stealthed players BRACELETS: 1. Improves parry bonus for crushing 2. Improves parry bonus for two handed 3. Increases pierce damage 4. Increases polearm damage 5. Increases enchant damage bonus NECKLACES: 1. Increases fighting skill gain 2. Increases improve skill max 3. Reduces hurting time 4. Increases chance to focus 5. Replenishment, reduces food and drink consumption

Fairness and equality for all please! Something that has been annoying me for a while now is the gender specific sorcery and frankly the females getting the worst of it. Lets start with something like skeletons (male) and wraiths (female) Skeletons can be spawned anytime anywhere and can result in 3-7 spawns, Wraiths are only 1 and can only be spawned in a cave or at night time and if they come out of the cave into daylight they will die instantly. Really? Skeletons are buggy yes but lets assume it isn't and focus on the equality of gender based spells. Now we have Stone wall (male) and Ice wall (female) These spells are different and would really make sense for the Ice wall to be paired with the Fire wall from the white tome assuming they do the same thing with different flavours rather than the Stone wall which now means females can never have this spell yet males can have a different version of the female one. My favourite gear grinder is Continuum (male) and Mirrored self (female) Continuum is a pretty nice spell that females can never ever have access to and instead are given a spell that not only doesn't even work effectively since the mirror images have a blue outline that isn't fooling anyone nor their dead straight movement. But even if it worked a little better its still pretty dull in comparison to something like Continuum. The last one is Karma bolt (male) Forecast (female) Im not really familiar with these two, much less the female one but again it seems like two completely different spells that cut one gender or the other out of ever being able to earn. Ultimately it makes no sense to base things by gender and cut parts of the game off from people ever achieving, so even though I've brought this up before I'm now making an official thread to start the gender equality protest. Please join me in voting for an equal playing field for all by liking this post and giving your +1 today!

With the implementation of wool and yarn, I can't help but hope that we will have some new clothing options. I know I'm not alone with our female Wurmians when I say, I'd love to have some clothes that are aimed toward the female gender! A dress may be too much to ask for, but something that wont make me look like every male in Wurm. And....can I wear a hat WITH my hair please?

As the title suggests allow to change gender of toon with the help of mirror. We can only change looks and not Gender.

I disagree. Appearance is hugely important to many MMO gamers, myself included. Functionality has its place as well, but so do aesthetics.

This has happened to my friend and now it happened to me. I went to make a new account and completely missed any option to choose gender in the registration process. Now I have an ugly man called Brambline and it's too late to start over since I sent this account money ((. Could the mirrors please be changed to allow gender change as well? I'm sure there are tons of people who have made the wrong gender by mistake. As proof of that, my friend Kirasamah (a feminine name, no?) who now has a male character.

I was playing the game and had an idea. Most of my ideas would never happen for many reasons and I cant ask for them in the suggestions thread. So I thought hmm wonder what ideas others have seen or thought. Absurd Suggestions. Today I thought would be nice to watch a forest fire caused by a lightning strike. Could even be useful for clearing land or useless trees. I would like to hear the ideas you have had that would never happen.
