Please allow a tick box option for always taking or dragging or moving "as much as I can carry" without having to select this option. This selection can be saved in a setting, or just enabled at certain times. Would be immensely helpful to tick while building or moving bulk items. Thanks.

Interesting idea. I've never really had a problem with this, I just drag the pile of items and when the pop-up appears (or even before it appears) I just press the 'Return' (Enter) key - it automatically takes as much as I can carry.

+1 for maybe a toggle-able option something I could easily turn on and off while moving materials around or something. I do the same as @Musedoes but it would be nice to save that extra click and slight delay for the pop up.

Jackal is 'Epic' reskinned with a few new mobs, no PvP, and a few super generic skins to spend points on; it really isn't anything different than what we had prior to its release.

Remove JNLP has been overdue for many years. Every game comes with it's own installer nowadays, it is just something you can't do anymore in 2019. So deal with it, every modern PC can handle the new launcher format. There is no reason to keep the JNLP. Ad Windows S mode: The windows S mode is a hopeless attempt to get the monopoly back to the microsoft store and make sure all the software is purchased via microsoft. If you buy a notebook or PC with a preinstalled Windows, the first step you should do is to completly wipe this PC. Install a fresh Windows 10, best to use the Pro N version of Windows 10, because that one has more features and less unneeded apps (ads). Usually the ads coming preinstalled with a new notebook have big security vulnerabilities, this is why you never should use the preinstalled Windows version you get when buying the PC or notebook. If you don't always wipe your PC after buying it not even god himself can help you. The most prominent and ground breaking security vulnerability is Lenovo Superfish, a completly unneeded program which has caused one of the biggest security issues in the last 10 years: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superfish#Lenovo_security_incident

Update Issued at 2024-03-24@ 17:00 GMT (UTC) Greeting fellow Wurmians, After two and half years as Keeper of the Indy Community Map, Archead had been promoted to Wurm's Public Relations Department and he has stepped down as Keeper of the Map. Our congrats on the promotion and best wishes to him in his new position. So once again the torch has been passed. As of July 5th, 2016 the Albia Roads Map of Indy has taken over from the retiring Indy Community Map. To view or download the Latest Version of Albia Roads Map of Indy please go to... https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kHuvWv-8Sha5nsRgow9LSLrNxwYbHFpL/ We are hosting it on Google Drives, which lets you "zoom in" right there on line, as well as downloading it if you wish to use a picture viewer to enjoy it in Hi-Rez. Adding Villages or Submitting Road Changes... If you want anything to be added, post your request in here, with the X-Y map coordinates, and if possible a little image to show exactly where you want it to be placed. (You can use an image host such as imgur.) Only a Mayor can make a request to have their deed put on the map and it has to made here in this forum. So all you hermits out there, your secret location is safe! BTW, we do NOT reveal any "off Map" places we come across during our road and geography surveys or add them to the map. BTW ... If a Mayor wants their deed removed, send me (Skyefox) a private forum message and I will remove it. Although we make every effort add what is submitted.. how much information we can display in a given area is sometimes is restricted due to font size limitations, amount of local roads a name would obstruct or we may be aware of lots of new deeds in an area and adding a road or feature name may not be possible as it would prevent adding those new deeds when they apply to be on the map. So there are times when we will say No to a submission and if we say No, it is Final and we will not enter into debate on our decision. Finally, a big thank you to those who have helped with the old Indy Map in the past, including Darkmalice, Mystecore, Mammadarkness, Maximusi, Huserx, Wraithglow and of course Archaed. A special thanks to Maximusi for hosting the old Map download site for the past few years. Indy is a lovely world with a great road system awaiting tourists. We hope this makes your travels and adventures safer and more enjoyable. Best wishes! Skyefox and Hughmongus Co-leaders of the Albia Consortium Co-Administrators of The Albia Roads Map of Indy New Features and further information about how the Albia Roads Map of Indy was created. Back in October of 2012 we started work on the Albia Roads Map of Indy. Initially we did it as a private resource, when we found it was easy to get disoriented or lost using the old Indy map, when we were out exploring. The map was created from a compilation of the original Community map by DarkMalice, Project FRAM data from the early years of Wurm, Rolf's map dumps and actual travelling of the roads by Hughmongus and myself. It took Hugh a year in his spare time to intergrate all the geography data. Then we started tile counting the roads and highways in October of 2013 with the North East Praires and north coast. Any road that can be travelled on by foot or horse and cart is on the map. When we encounter roads that were behind locked gates/gatehouses we indicate what roads we can see. Where we were permitted access to map a settlement's roads, Gates and Gatehouses are indicated by a pixel gap in the road or side road. Where time allows, we are constanting updating the terrain and adjusting the coastlines, though in Wurm the landscape can change very quickly, so don't be surprised if some of it isn't exactly right. Thus, We do not guarantee accuracy due to the ever changing nature of a sandbox world. You will notice a few extra items on our map as well as some changes to icons, such as the new Tar icon, a smaller version of the Guard Tower and Mailbox icon's. The new Markers for Shrines, Temples, Obelisks and Pillars that were added in May of 2016 with more to come. The hollow Orange outline boxes surrounding the Guard Tower icons indicate the calling range for the guards - get the mob inside the boxed area and guards will respond to your call of "help" in Local Chat. Towers without the orange box we do not have an accurate position for yet, so only the GT icon is placed in an approximate location. The legend on the top left has all the information. Enjoy! Playing the game today and this came up: I do not understand why you would want to remove a platform-independent launcher and replace it with a native, platform-specific launcher. This is the exact type of problem Java solves. I cannot run the "Linux" launcher on my Linux because the developer has made assumptions about my Linux: ./WurmLauncher ./WurmLauncher: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.9.4/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.21' not found (required by ./WurmLauncher) ./WurmLauncher: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.9.4/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.9' not found (required by ./WurmLauncher) If you plan to distribute a binary as a launcher, then it needs to be statically compiled (and thus huge) to remove such assumptions. The above binary is NOT statically compiled, and includes linkage (and version assumptions) for over 60 system libraries. Why? Why? Why remove JNLP... If you do this, I will be locked out of the game because I do not run the same Linux as the developer.

Happy Halloween, Wurmians! We on the Wurm team hope you’re gearing up for your spooky fall festivities. Here on the team, we’ve been hard at work to make this Halloween a thrill for all. Tricks! We asked the creatures of Wurm what they’d like to dress up as this Halloween. Unfortunately, none of them spoke English, so we decided for them. Keep an eye out for all sorts of spooky trick-or-treaters masquerading about on your adventures. Will you find the goblins dressed as Aliens? Or the troll Princesses? Maybe if you’re lucky, you’ll spot a delicious Candycorn! And Treats! That’s not all, however. The pumpkin shoulderpads and troll masks are back and will soon be joined by this year’s new Halloween treats. Be sure to go hunting for your chance to find the human skull mask and the witch’s hat. Expect to see these go live after the next update in the next day or so--just in time for Halloween! That’s all for now, folks! Have a safe and happy Halloween. Eat lots of candy, scare all your friends, and keep on Wurming! - Joelle & The Wurm Team

Currently, "decoration" items don't take damage on deed. This applies to statues, chests, barrels, and anything else that doesn't form a pile on the ground. However, they are only exempt from decay when actually on the ground. For example, an amphora in an amphora rack will take decay damage, as will a barrel or amphora placed on an empty shelf. I consider this problematic in a couple ways: It's counterintuitive. You would expect a barrel to take the same decay on-deed whether it's inside another container or not, especially when simply placed on a table. I wasn't even aware of the difference myself until it was clarified to me by the developers. It unnecessarily discourages the use of decorative and convenience features, such as amphora/small barrel/crate racks and the new ability to place decorations on top of other objects. I'm all ears, but I honestly don't see why this would cause a problem, and it would alleviate some confusion.

Hey, don't knock it. It's not my kind of thing, but it seems popular and if players like it and are having fun then good luck to them I say. If it's good for Wurm then it's good for all of us?

Also mentioned in another thread that all of the new Laptops and Desktops come with Windows 10 S mode. This does not allow any program to be installed unless it is downloadable from the Microsoft Store. Please either put the JNLP back or certify your install and make it downloadable from the Microsoft store so I can continue to play. Otherwise I will have to request my pre-paid subscription back as I will no longer be able to play the game I paid for.

The reason the order is all jumbled is because the file was generated by the mod, and the only way I found to make it preserve order seemed a bit involved at the time. But it doesn't actually matter which order the entries are in, so you can copy and paste as you like. The only important bit is the "classname" and "classpath", they must be in the main .properties file for ago's modlauncher to find the mod. It wouldn't matter if they were copied into the per server file though, they would be ignored.

As per title, spawn them with followers by default, goblins are spawner only so GL will almost never have followers and they wont roam outside a certain area anymore so troll king won't gather many followers either, it doesn't do their hierarchy justice.

Before I moved from Xanadu, I was part of an amazing alliance that was/is very active and amazingly funny, querky, drama free, and often working on projects with it's bulk of players around Summerholdt and spread across the north coast of Xandu, hence the alliance name of NEXA. olufhairbreaks, aniceset, jackjones i believe are still the contacts , you can't go wrong with this group, it is a rich fun active great experience with resource network

Buying an already "reputable" account and some end level gear will absolutely spoil the game purpose; Wurm isn't a game where a drake set or an epic level weapon matter, Wurm is a game about self accomplisment, about being proud for what you did or what you make on your own, the joy to reach a certain level in a skill, the hapiness to turn something rare and see its shine. If you use money and buy everything, you will soon get bored and quit, because you "played" the game without playing it and got everything a player gets after a lot of hard work. I wish you good luck anyway, but a reputation isn't bought, either in real life or in Wurm, a reputation is built over time through what you do and how you act, you earn it yourself, can't hire someone to bring it to you.

I just read all of this and I think we can deduce that we start a new version of our character on the new server, which has a 3x skill gain, as well as faster actions. There is probably also a skill tracker that knows how much skill we would normally be gaining, under normal conditions, back on our original server. When returning to the original server, I'd guess all that hidden normal skill accumulation gets applied to our original character and then cleared for our next trip to the new server. That would be why the notes say "retain some of the knowledge". If this is correct (or close), then I also suspect it will be much easier to work on skilling with the new server, for people at the very high end of their original server skills. Such as mining rocks and iron on the new server to hit 70, then coming back to the original server and seeing mining 99.0 become 99.3 (or something like that). Just my guess and I could be completely wrong, but seems like it could become the best place to skill up. The draw back would be the lack of high level skill gain enchants, but hooray for a new market to sell them I'm very excited for this server and hope to jump on in the Fall, when I can return actively to Wurm.

I think this hits the right marks but has some serious design flaws which will show themselves later down the line. From my perspective, it looks like it's trying to hit the following marks: Create a new space where players can find uncharted lands. Ensure that there's no gap between highly skilled accounts and new accounts. Provide a challenge to players who have experienced the tougher content of the game so far. The way this is pitched hits all of those marks. By themselves, each one is positive. Together, though, they conflict heavily. Creating A New Space Creating a new environment for players to play in is great. Having it with separated skills is fine. Ensuring they can go back to their normal gameplay on the "main" servers easily is fantastic. However, this design is inhibited by the following requirement: This forces a prerequisite on anyone who wants to participate in the new environment. Not only do they need to be strong enough to participate in the rift (or leech off one, which some players are not keen on doing), but rifts themselves are volatile and only occur at specific time periods. They can also be difficult to travel to, whether you're a new or old player, because transport to a rift can be a challenge. Furthermore, while there's nothing mentioning it, I'm skeptical about "competition" over obtaining the lodestones. Will everyone get one, or will there be a limited amount that players who participated at the rift will be fighting over? Will these lodestones be consumed on use? Will they be so common that everyone will have one? If so, why even have this as a requirement? Adding the requirement to enter the new space to a rift needs more discussion. This arbitrarily limits player interaction to a certain subset of people who fulfill a prerequisite instead of allowing those who actually want to participate to do so freely. The Gap Between Accounts vs New & Challenging Content There are players who have played for a long time. Years and years, and they have accounts that show that dedication. Some people view them negatively, others view it as a mark of pride and envy. In the end, these accounts exist and many hours were spent making them into what they are. When you have one of these accounts, all the challenges in the game as they exist are trivial. Killing a troll is no problem. You eat champions for breakfast and craft 90 quality items of whatever you want. The next step is to pose some new challenge to this account. It's coming in this next update; Frontier... but there's a catch. You can't use the skills and items you obtained. Not only is this going to be off-putting to players who have put serious amounts of time into their accounts, but I'm also confused why new creatures are only being displayed for unskilled characters and reset every 6 months. Players with high skills generally enjoy taking on something new and challenging, seeing how it matches up against the account they invested so much time into. Instead, the newest challenge is being added to a land that can only be accessed by accounts with no skills, and will never obtain the "super account" status. In conclusion, it seems like the design was mixed between a hunting server and a new land that fresh players can explore without feeling gated by lack of skills. The problem is these two concepts don't mix very well. You either design the server as a fresh land for new players, or you design it to challenge your existing ones. You tried to design the server for everyone, and instead ended up with a server designed for no one.

Personally while I'd love to have a hunting server with more PvE challenge, I also want it to be accessible, meaning with skills and items transfering so I can go over there with some friends to have some fun when we want to. With neither of those transfering we'd first have to grind up skills and aquire items. Now that's not that bad, if we only had to do it once, but the 6 month reset would ruin even that. I'll keep following the news on this as the general idea of a more challenging PvE server sounds really interesting to me, but so far the details sound like an unappealing executing, I hope that will change.

I am looking for a reason to start playing again, and this wasn't it. It could possibly be enjoyable if the survival depended on you banding together. So the PVE would have to be scaling and force people into a sanctuary with other players. Then there is the 6 month reset... As soon as this hits, I fear you will lose half the population and people will lose interest just as they did with Rolf last reset project... which I can't even remember the name of...

Seems some missed the "faster" part here; but yeah the 6 month termination point and deletion of all accomplishments there are negatives to be considered. Although some compensation may make time spent there of some value to Wurm Characters indicated by this statement: What exactly this means remains to be seen but to me this would be the main reason to spend any time there beyond a curious look around. If it is of little value in that respect I would see this as just another WU type of server not really up to par with more established better ones available to play upon for your Wurm diversionary experience. As with all things, time will tell. Yet one of the main drawing points of Wurm is the ability to build your Character over years of time and have your skills and accomplishments remain as both testament to that and the further enjoyment of the game that they provide. Hopefully this "Next Frontier" will be a further benefit to the main game. We shall see..... =Ayes=

Deed Locations and Mission Ritual Locations Updated: 2024-03-24 @ 17:00 GMT (UTC) Every deed on the Albia Roads Map with its name and x-y co-ordinates are listed below in the hidden Spoiler Area: Zorako's Mission Ritual Locations Updated: 2024-03-24 @ 17:00 GMT (UTC) Please note as of July 30th, 2023, we are not adding Non Mission Ritual related structures that people have build as "Decorations" for their deeds. In the Hidden Part below is a list of the Mission Ritual Locations that were added to the Albia Roads Map of Indy in response to a suggestion from our late friend Zorako with the release of Albia Roads Map of Indy Update of May 29th, 2016. As a tribute to our veteran friend and a most generous Wurmian, who passed in March of 2018, this list is now named Zorako's Mission Ritual Locations. To add a Mission Ritual related structure such as a Shrine, Obelisk, Pillar, Pylon, Temple or Gate you discover in your travels.... Please post to this forum its Name (as seen on mouse over), it's Albia Map X - Y location and what type it is. IF you can please grab a screenie from our map of a 5x5 grid around what you have found, using a Paint program mark an "X" where you found it. Then please insert that image into your forum message as it would really help us to place it properly on the map. A special thanks "AnotherNoob" for his assistance in helping us to get the improvement up and running. He provided us with an initial 11 locations of the where some of these can be found. The most valuable thing that you can make, find, or be offered in this game - is friendship. Look out for those folks that take the time with you now, whilst you are just starting out - make time for them, and you may find they may still be your good friends in 5, 10 years time. You won't find a more solid boost to your reputation, than the recommendation of a good friend. Welcome to Wurm Online!
