so you're upset someones farming a public trader better than you so you harrass them and then make a forum post about it?

Yes... traders... Oh, nothing... Edit: Ah heck with it. I've never liked traders. Never thought they're good for much besides "abuse". Just some personal feelings.

As title, slots for armor that aren't used in combat or anything and show up instead of the "functional" armor you actually have equipt, so you can be stylin while you're out and about without having to worry about dying in two hits to a suprise unique or whatever you find that day. Probably pve/same kingdom only for obviously reasons

Now, when the Priest Overhaul was released I felt a tad confused. My reaction was something like. "Oh my, there is still a lot that needs touching up." So I will start with deity's. And then spells on my thoughts and concerns. This post will also give you an in depth look on what deity's you should be picking and what suits you best. Because I know there is a lot of TLDR material here so I put the deity's and various concerns in bullets. Vynora: This one has always been a good one. In terms of enchanting, yeah, she is one of the best. CoC+WoA is a solid combo, with AoSP and Nimbleness plus MIndstealer and Frostbrand make her a fantastic tool and weapon enchanter and a decent armour enchanter. With a pendy cast too! In terms of utility Mend and Wisdom of Vynora are lovely casts. And in terms of passives, a 10% skillgain bonus is EVERYTHING is gigantic. Oh, and the +2 defensive CR on pavement/sea isn't worth mentioning. Lol, really great deity though, always has been. And Excel is a nice defensive bonus spell for when you want to be a tanky boi/girl. She has a fantastic focal point as an enchanter. Magranon: As a caster he is poor, no tool casts, 1 armour cast, and 1 weapon cast, but good for pendulums. As a fighter, yeah, he's the best, Vynora is a better mage on average in PvP due to reduced casting timers for the heavy damage spell, but Maggie really is the best in combat. A 15% damage bonus and a 25% increased in combat skill gain and +2 offensive CR are three good compliments, and as a utility he ain't bad having Disintegrate and Strongwall. Personally it just isn't enough to draw me to him though, priests need good spells to go on and make good money, and he just doesn't have good enchants. Only a deity you'd see on PvP I'd imagine. Frantic charge is fantastic now that it has a 10% increase attack speed and focused will is nice during down times. Just all around the best Melee combat deity in the game, giving Magranon a pronounced focal point. Which is good. Libila: As an enchanter, she is lovely. Both armour enchants so she is great, Bloodthrist, RT, ED, so great for weapons, and Blessings of the Dark, so she is good for your best tools, not for skillers, which is a good balance versus Vynora, in combat she is good, not great, but good, as a mage she is the best deity there is, but there is one problem, her fast cast spell Rotting gut is weak for some reason, but despite that Worm brains (because it always hits the head) is the best heavy damage spell there is, dealing the highest amount of Worm brains damage and having a cast timer of 15 seconds, just like hypothermia, and having the favor cost of 40, plus pain rain, and Scorn, which can make for some fantastic/sometimes sh*** healing. She can have up to +5 offensive CR with Truehit and her passive, which in almost all of my tests doesn't beat Magranon's 15% damage bonus, but in PvP she can be better in certain situations, but more often than not, not. In terms of passives she has absolutely no skillgain bonuses which is a huge turn off, and a stamina bonus which is useless on freedom. The +2 offensive CR is kind of nothing. But her place in PvE combat is niche. And bad. But as I said, good enchanter, and that alone can be a great reason to pick her. But the zero skillgain bonus hurts. She has a great focal point as an enchanter, and mage. And Alchemy Sacrifice is huge. Fo: Now this one is a tad confusing to me, especially in comparison to other deity's. And I will get in to why but first... As a caster deity he is poor. Only sporting 2 weapon enchants, no armour enchants, and nothing for tools But to be fair his weapon enchants are rare, which is nice. Life Transfer and Venom are very unique and do only belong to Smeagain/Nathan. Here comes the complaints... He is decent utility in the act that he has Genesis... but Nahjo does utility so much better, and enchanting too, with a lovely sacrifice ability to boot. (Alchemy sac) And here comes my biggest complaint, he is only good for healing, and many other deity's already have healing abilities, all you gain is Light of Fo, Which yes, is a great healing spell... for rifts. Events, PvP. But... Unless if you have alts and are obsessed with having every ability, Light of Fo does not balance the massive losses and utility, and Fo's passives are mediocre, with absolutely no skillgain bonuses, this deity just does not appeal to me at ALL. But Animal Passive is nice. Riding hellies. I wish there was a healer deity that didn't make you give up enchanting, because that is a huge kick in the butt. Nathan and Paaweelr don't make you give up enchanting for warrior damage bonuses. I just don't get this deity. And it sucks for me too, I love healing. In terms of buffs he is alright. Sporting Bearpaws, Forest Giant Strength, and Oakshell, Bearpaws is kind of the only way to grind weaponless fighting, but. Why would you want to do that? Oakshell is a great spell for when you want to grind shield skills without having your armour take damage. And Forest giant strength is decent, a fair spell for buffing a newbie. But not that great if you are already strong seeing how body strength scales at higher levels. Oh and 1 thing, Fo is the only deity with "Toxin" an enchant that boosts jewellery damage for poison wounds, complimenting Venom and giving him a slight bit of uniqueness. To sum it up, this deity isn't a lot imo. His only focal point is healing. And that alone is not of much desire since other deity's have healing spells. And much better enchants/passives. Tosiek: This one is just plain confusing to me, compared to Libila which this one is very similar to, it just seems. Like less. The damage spells are worse, you loose some damage spells, you loose Truehit, you loose some enchants. You loose PASSIVES, all you gain is charm animal, refresh Mind Stealer. It's just so lopsided. However you do gain a 10% skillgain bonus which is kinda big, but It's just not enough, It's worse in almost every way. And I struggle to see why someone would pick this over Libila. Paaweelr: This one is actually very well balanced, Hypothermia and shard of ice are heavy damage enchants, with a nice combat edge too, sporting a 15% increase in weapon damage and a 25% increase in combat skillgain, Paaweelr is an interesting alternative to Vynora AND Magranon, he is most similar to Nathan imo, in terms of enchants. And speaking of that, Paaweelr is a great enchanter. In weapon enchants he has FA and Nimbleness, in armour he has both AoSP and Web Armour unlike Vynora. AND he has Blessings of the Dark instead of CoC+WoA, which is an interesting difference. In terms of utility you get Charm Animal, Wisdom of Vynora, and same sacrificing bonuses as Vynora, this deity feels like a well balanced Vynora alternative with a combat edge for those who like casting, and fighting. He even has Cure medium! Paaweelr is a nice deity that you can fight in, that doesn't force you to give up being an enchanter. Also you get disintegrate which is cool because you can't mine as Paaweelr. But you get to smash rock walls. Nathan: Hey Nathan, my bae. The deity I myself plan on going after I'm done grinding channelling. This one is very similar to Paaweelr in many ways, a good combat deity and enchanter. He sports zero pendulum enchants unlike all deity's. But that isn't a huge deal. In terms of weapon enchants he is nice, doesn't sport nimbleness but you still get that WoA effect from BoTD, as Nathan you get Venom and Essence drain, which are both fairly rare and good enchants for weapons. For tools he has BoTD, as an alternative to both CoC and WoA, and he has both AoSP and Web armour, making him a well rounded enchanter. He is extremely similar to Paaweelr, only instead of Charm animal you get Dominate, you do loose Wisdom of Vynora which hurts, but you do gain alchemy sacrifice, which is a huge deal. Being able to throw garlic/rosemary (Libila and Gary and Tosiek have this too) in an altar and gaining huge amounts of favor is a life saver, and it puts many other deity's to shame, I wish there was more balance amongst other deity's without reducing the alchemy sacrifice, like making cordage ropes good again and making sacrificing bonuses better, but hey I'm not supposed to be talking about this yet. But yeah. In terms of passives he has a 15% damage bonus, he has the 25% increased combat skillgain bonus which is lovely. He also has disintegrate like Paaweelr. To make up for the fact that he isn't as good of a mage in general as Paaweelr. Nathan sports all three tiers of healing. Focused Will, Cure medium, Cure serious, and Scorn, which as I said before, can be a great healing spell depending on the situation, and also can be absolute garbage. I like this guy a lot. Another example of a good caster without giving up that many combat powers. Nahjo: Lets start this one out with casting. As a caster he isn't that bad, sporting Wind of ages, Mind Stealer, Aura of shared pain Essence Drain. Sort of a much lesser Vynora, but he massively makes up for it in being the best utility priest there is. Sporting Genesis, Mend, alchemy sacrifice Strongwall Light Token and even Charm Animal + Oakshell, and even a lovely 10% skillgain bonus makes him the best priest for grinding channelling there is. Having Human Demise, and Lurker in the Dark makes him the best grinder. Although he suffers in terms of combat he sits in sort of the same boots as Vynora, being a great utility. I still highly recommend this deity even after the overhaul due to these many bonuses. Even though he does suffer as an enchanter. It's a good deity to start with and a good one to have in your pocket. Smeagain: Now this one is confusing to me, it has many bonuses, all of them mediocre, she sports a slight healing bonus, a stamina bonus, and half stamina drain on rock, she is also immune to lava burns, all of these bonuses are useless (except for rock stamina), and she even doesn't have an increase in any kind of skillgain which is a huge turn off. As an enchanter she has Life Transfer, Blessings of the dark instead of CoC+WoA so no skillers or easy enchanting on horseshoes, but a very nice spells nonetheless. Web Armour, and that's about it. Not the strongest enchanter. She is a decent healer though, sporting Heal and Cure Medium, but those aren't the best spells, only for events. She has dominate which is kind of fun... Truehit which in all my tests doesn't increase your chance to hit by much at all unless if you are a newbie. So she is just sort of an... Intermediate healer, intermediate caster. With other deity's providing better healing by a long shot, even Nathan. This deity just seems... Confused, but she is a good climber sporting half stamina on rock tiles and refresh. Which is cool. But... Yeah, I just don't really... Get why anyone would pick Smeagain over Nathan or Vynora, or Paaweelr, or Libila. Just... strange. She's alright as utility, but she lost strongwall in the overhaul, but does have Genesis, but yeah, no skillgain bonus and sub-par healing spells and not many enchants makes for a sub-par deity with no real powerful focal point. Gary: This one, is just holy what on earth why does it exist... As an enchanter, Gary has Blessings of the Dark, and Lurker in the Woods/Dark, That's it, okay, so, there is very little enchants at the gain of what? Nothing! No damage bonuses, no healing passives, no skillgain passives in anything, as a mage he is decent, but other deity's do him much better, as utility he has Genesis, that's all. As a healer he has Cure light which is a good spell, but, there's just nothing here! It's almost strange how horribly balanced this deity was in release, at least give us some nice choices but this guy just lacks in EVERYTHING, all corners, all fronts, he lacks. I just don't get it, do NOT go Gary. They even removed Charm and Dominate from him. So he was looked at... Maybe. The whole thing was rushed. The only redeeming quality of this deity imo is the fact that he has alchemy sacrifice And he does have Forest Giant Strength plus Hell Strength, but those two spells are incredibly difficult and expensive in favor, so they hardly work in most cases... Afterthoughts There are many imbalances in place still with many deity's. Many deity's suffer having any real focal points, and alchemy sacrifice is an overwhelming bonus that can draw many to BL. I suggest increasing value of cordage to 1.5 because veggies still far outweigh the work/effort that it takes into making cordage ropes. And rope tools aren't as easy to manage considering how good addy knives are. Nobody will grind to 90 ropemaking to get a slight increase in resourcefulness... Especially considering how fast veggies are to make. And as I have stated before. It bothers me how much of a penalty most deity's receive in order to have decent healing spells. Healing by itself isn't a strong focal point, especially on freedom. Which is why I would never choose Fo or Smeagain. And if you think that Oakshell/Forest Giant Strength is enough of a thing to give up enchanting, then no. And the reason why I didn't include Charm Animal is because many other deity's like Paaweelr have charm, and Paawee is a fantastic caster/freedomer. I have seen it especially from @Etherdrifterthe guy seems to not be happy about Fo's situation, Fo just didn't gain much at all from the overhaul, and I can see why he isn't happy, because I wouldn't pick him. But on another note... in this entire list I did not really list the useless spells. Like goat shape, and Cleanse for example. Only the highlights, like enchants, certain buffs. And great passives/Skillgain bonuses. The things that people should really focus on when picking a deity. And the things that are good for freedom/PvP life. When it comes to choosing a priest, it isn't easy. But I hope this list will help people know which deity to choose for their life style. Holy cow this post is a lot longer than I mean't it to be. O_O

Buuut .. "many MMOS" which have Wurm-like features do not have all the features offered here, rather one or two of them, and very poor implemented. (Let me give you only one example: riding. From the old Oblivion (and the entire Elder Scrolls franchise) to the newly Animallica (in early access) games, you can ride and "have" horses. It is a painful, hurtful, traumatic experience, your horse is horrible hard to command, you cannot do anything while mounted, you cannot breed your horses, you cannot gear them (unless you call "gearing" paying a stable owner to throw something on your horse, which you have no control on) and generally you cannot interact at all with your horse, a not so nice designed pixelated animal with weird anatomy or dead fish looking eyes. On the other hand, in Wurm riding is a pleasurable experience, you can do 101 things (and some others I forgot about) while mounted, you can breed your horses until your deed ratio falls bellow the sea level, you have a lot of things to put on them, for look, speed, protection, different looking and, oh yes!, some dyeable gear now, you can groom, tame, fsb a horse, give a nickname to your nanimal, your horse goes through different life stages, it can be cared for, hitched, transported over seas, as for the design, what is more to say than look at those many colours!! look at the thread with screenies of new born baby horses!! Please note that riding a horse is ONE thing you can do in Wurm, and it comes boxed with so many things tied to it, you rapidily lose count of them! Add to that that each and every of those things is also boxed with so many things, which are boxed with so many things, which ...) I'll rest my case here. I am sure most of us played a lot of other MMOS. Listing what unique things you can do in Wurm means you can do all of them in the same game, not in 20-30 different games put all together, and even so you wouldn't cover all the options you have in Wurm. Wurm is so complex, it doesn't have any "competitor". Nor will it have one in the near or not so near future, considering the trend in gaming industry, which seems to be pulling us back to the late '90s - early 00s, with simplistic, lifeless graphics, basic features, linear and short stories, "go there, kill 5 bandits, bring back their house goblins as proof" quests and 3-6 months of playing time (6 months, riiiight! .. but I felt so generous). Wurm is so complex that it turns out to be another life on its own. Boring, less appealing, annoying, frustrating, yet so much of your own in its full splendour, glory, hopefulness and joy. Enjoy it while it lasts and get the best out of it while you can. What unique things can you do in Wurm?.. How about tell Nessie a joke and make it laugh out loud?

No, i'm doing it normally on a normal server, where you get around 1s75c to 3s on average, with 1s going back to the upkeep of the deed where your trader stand... if you have a min sized deed. Unless you own a trader, what you have are misconceptions given by all the traders haters without any REAL facts backing it. With an 18 month average to actually start making money from them... no, not really. Unlike people who farm uniques or rares+, traders give ###### money. They are not... and unless Rolf come here to state the original trader intent... no one REALLY know what they were intended to be. Only thing I know is that people keep beating the already dead horse based on what they used to be years ago before they got nerfed to the ground and a lot of others REALLY LUCRATIVE ways have been introduce with ZERO INITIAL INVESTEMENT!

Fact check me, but the camps also award Rift points, yes? Could the goal just be changed to "earn a total of X Rift points"? Seems like a more organic way to go about this, while also rewarding high caliber participants in Rifts to get a bit more juice for their squeeze and making attending Rifts fully actually worth it, as opposed to goal seekers just tagging a Rift with 20 points participation and then sodding off again. Then again, tagging might be a bad thing...just throwing the idea out there. +1 to having camps count to the goal in some way though.

Wildelf, yes Bloodscythe is a good person and likes to help others. There are many in Wurm who like to help others. (and unfortunately some who just like to cause trouble), and some like to do good deeds anonymously, as Ayes does. Ayes is one of those people, who has over the years always anonymously helped others, and has put in many, many hours (and in some cases his own money) making nice areas around starter deeds for public use. To state that you don't see anything good on his part, even by reputation, just shows that you're new & unaware. (and understandably dismayed and a little hurt by this unfortunate situation). Unfortunately, due to the nature of Wurm, these types of situations have come up more than once over the years and you shouldn't stop playing your character because of it. Just understand that it's Wurm. Land disputes over how undeeded land should be used are frequent , even land that someone has claimed as their own without deeding it (which is allowed), hence the saying "deed it or lose it" which is supposed to settle it & make everyone feel better about it but never does. Another saying in Wurm is "just because you can, doesn't mean you should." As a sandbox, many things are allowed that shouldn't necessarily be done out of common courtesy. In general, messing up the work of others where it has clearly not been abandoned, is not a good idea. In this situation though it's not exactly undeeded land, it's the perimeter of the starter deed, and Ayes made that mine as a convenience to be used by all. And from the sounds of it there was a whole lot of work involved, not to mention signs set out, etc., stating that it was for the public. So on this point I feel Retro is out of line & very inconsiderate to just brush it off with a "no big deal." Just my opinion. My understanding is that Haven, which is a fairly new thing in Wurm, is allowing people to settle in the perimeter(?), but in general I thought it was supposed to be public lands with resources and facilities intended to be used by all and not claimed or blocked off in such a way as to prevent others from using them. A place where new players could have a safe haven to familiarize themselves with the game before venturing out to either join a village or start their own, not to set up permanent housekeeping. I know Haven is different from private deeds, but as a general rule, doing anything in perimeters that aren't yours is bad form and buildings can't even be built, (and if building can be done in Haven perimeter then that's definitely different from private perimeters). Since you're new you can't be expected to know any of this right off so don't take this wrong, I'm not criticizing. It's just that it can potentially lead to hard feelings, as it has in this case and you should just be aware of it. And with building/settling allowed, I doubt this will be the last time Haven perimeter land is disputed just as undeeded lands elsewhere are hotly disputed at times. It's a Wurm thing, no reason to think that's ever going to change so it's just something to be aware of and gotten used to. As you venture out and learn more about Wurm, it's a good idea to keep in mind that settling in an area and making changes to the work of others, like public roads & tunnels for instance (another hot issue of debate sometimes), can often lead to bad feelings for all involved. And if you mess with someone's perimeter, you're likely to start a real firestorm. There is so much open land that it's not difficult at all to find areas where you won't impact anyone else's game, even on Independence.

Domestication has always been around in real life, a step from mere taming where an animal is actually loyal and more than just a step away from going to kill you. In the case of dogs and cats, it's what defines and shaped our histories together, so it'd make sense to include some form of that in Wurm. It'd be nice to have a trait for animals if you're a certain level in husbandry that you can domesticate them, particularly through breeding submissive and docile animals together. Maybe creating normal cats instead of wildcats and... dogs. Yeah, I'm still thinking of what a step up from our normal Wurmian dog would be. Just a thought. Not really anything game changing, and to keep it from being too abusive, you can make it so that only certain animals are able to be domesticated.

Deeds aren't needed for traders. Are you one of the people that thinks that you need an alt logged in 24/7 next to the trader for it to work? Sounds like a fine investment to me considering the games been going for 13+ years. that'd be a 900% ROI over that time using your rates today. Things that actively require you to play the game make more than playing spreadsheet calculator. Sounds fine? Get people to spend silver on the game Yet again, Things that actively require you to play the game make more than playing spreadsheet calculator. Sounds fine? 0 investment required on traders either, just go plop a house over one of the hundreds of abandoned traders all over indy. I was getting around 80s/m when i was draining all the ones that i knew of around 2 years ago, and i didnt even block them off or anything. Spamming reveal creatures to find uniques on indy gave me a really nice map of them all, I'll sell you as many trader locations as you want, 10s each

I hope you are prepared to fully reimburse the players who have invested coins in them if you intend to further nerf them into the ground... Unless you have a shitload of 1s deed upkeep deeds and an insane amount of traders, you are not making income with them.1s50 to 2s per traders per month is nothing compared to the amount of free coins the forage / botanise / kill / bury system offer. That system already give a lot of coins, new players are also more likely to create rares... If the system is broken its for the few that farm traders (and i'm not sure how many are left nowadays!), not those who are using them to lower their upkeeps.

The simple solution is to not allow selling of goods for coins, and rework purchased Traders. Instead, to help new players allow them to gain coins more frequently to compensate and be fair to everyone veteran and new player alike. The whole new player experience just really needs to be redone.

I came up with this idea due to the innate desire to get to know and understand each of the Freedom cluster of islands. So, I want to challenge those who have that itch to prove themselves to try and sell us on why we should visit or even live on that part of Freedom. You can make it into a tourism pamphlet, or just express the wonders and details that you've experienced in person living there. The most important thing for me is that I want you to really give me your best shot at showing your love for your server, and the reasons why someone should be there instead of somewhere else. It'd be awesome to get the best picks of each server, and make a little brochure for those that have never played Wurm, allow them a taste of each server and let them know what's there for them. Bonus points if you can throw together something for the more scarier areas like Jackal, Epic, and Chaos. Good luck, my friends.

+1 no use for them, also if we can ride it, why cant we gear it
  30. 1 point
As suggested by the title. Wurmians might benefit from finally being able to craft and use large saddles, for Wetas on Jackal, at the moment Large Saddles can still be produced, but have absolutely no use at all, I propose we simply allow Wetas to be equipped with them, with a slot for saddlebags, and perhaps a bridle for leading as well. Why saddles? Well apart from being able to actually use Large Saddles, they could perform the same function as horse saddles, namely keep the animal in place when saddled, since wetas tend to just wander about when not being ridden, a minor annoyance when travelling, a major pain when on a corpse run, just having them stay put would be wonderful.

And surprise, surprise players have done just fine there without the ability to purchase their own Traders. An experiment gone well in my opinion. Players can't purchase Traders there either. Also recently someone (Retro I would guess since he built new Trader stalls over them at this time) removed the ability for Traders to buy items from players. Before this someone was bragging in Freedom chat there about how he was already draining those two Traders for some good silver. Seems someone got a clue that with all the new deeds being placed that this would repeat the occurrence on Pristine/Release where those focused on draining Traders were making huge amounts of silver during the initial deed placement phase. Nipped in the bud on Jackal or maybe something temporary? Only those who decided to stop the practice there know. =Ayes=

There is no damage when you fall into a mine, either from outside or inside the mine, into a dropshaft. A 20 slope entrance cannot be classified as steep; 20 is the standard slope everyone uses for roads, highways, mine entrances and tunnels leading up or down in caves and whatnot. @WildelfI do not believe anyone has anything against your race, gender, creed, hair colour or length of the nose. Communication between players goes two ways, perhaps you could also listen what others around you have to say, see if your personal plans are matching their plans and visions for a certain area? As far as I understand, you are living in the perimeter of the tutorial area, on Independence, which is a public area, heavily shared with people owning deeds there and with all other new'ish players temporarily using the place or just joining the game. Have you considered finding a place of your own, a little further away, where you can modify the surroundings the way you like it, without the risk of interfering with other people's plans? Before saying you are a new player, without money to put into the game, let me tell you it doesn't necessarily have to be a deeded area, although deeding helps immensely with a lot of things; living on wild is also possible, doable and happening here and there. Independence is a large server, has a lot of undeeded land, anyone can find his own place that suits him (or her, so nobody feels discriminated). As for @Ayes's work, before some people getting upset at him and saying he did something potentially endangering new or seasoned players, I can say, without seeing that mine, that nothing can be less true!!! For many years Ayes was around, and not only on Independence, but on other servers as well, creating beautiful safe spaces around starter deeds (starting back in a time when life in Wurm was MUCH more harsh than it is now), maintaining public mines, crafting areas, offering supplies to passers by, putting his time, efforts and personal money in the service of a community which - as it can be seen here - is not always the most grateful. Unfortunately, older players, who should recognize such services done for the benefit of many, are enjoying being "helpful" and ruining what was done, sometimes only for the sake of being called helpful. Perhaps many of you have no idea what Ayes did for others over the years. That's understandable: he did it using alts, characters nobody knew they belonged to him. He never bragged on forums or in chats about what he did and, when one or another found out "x" character was Ayes, his identity wasn't made public, in respect for his humble anonimity in which he did his work.

I will just interject with the fact there is an existing public mine. Havens Landing itself has a mine all players can use and are encouraged to do so. As it is the perimeter of this zone no one has any say in what can and cannot be done there, I commend bloodscythe for taking the time to check out to make sure he is not stepping on anyones toes or against the rules. In the end one of the many mines around Havens landing was closed, this is no big loss as there are many more.

We appreciate you liking them, they were one of the first features of Jackal finalised, and have certainly added to the weirdness of the land. That said, Jackal is their home and they will remain solely there. We're aware of sometimes a mission spawning them but next update they will be all removed and send to a farm home on Jackal.

I just started setting up a new server, and tried this for the first time. It works great! Thank you very much for this.

Yes I would have loved a Dapple Grey, it was one of my favourites. I think I would have chosen one to ride. Here's an old English Nursery Rhyme: Dapple Grey I had a little pony, His name was Dapple Grey, I lent him to a lady, To ride a mile away. She whipped him, she lashed him, She rode him through the mire; I would not lend my pony now, For all the lady's hire. Which just goes to show how precious our animals are to us, and how we must treasure them whilst we have them, whatever their size or colour, even if it is possible that some other people might not feel the same way.

The option is called "outline_picking" so a keybind would look like eg this: (press f1 to bring up the console) bind ctrl+f3 "setoption outline_picking false" There's more options, but there doesn't seem to be a complete list anywhere, the best I've been able to find is http://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Wurm_client_release_notes_2007
