Journal of Jack A. Lormere. Day 5: I’ve been on the trail of these rumoured creatures and I’ve discovered something shocking. The link between these lands and Jackal have grown strong enough to cross both ways. Strange rocks now cover the land after these “Rifts” are closed and they allow me to transfer a part of myself to their home lands, Jackal. I don’t think my knowledge and skill crosses to Jackal, but upon returning I feel like I’ve retained what I’ve learned… Jackal: The Next Frontier For years now, the aggressive residents of Jackal have been relentlessly attacking the lands of Wurm through the use of Rifts – transporting themselves to Wurm and attempting to wreak havoc upon the citizens there. Now it’s the players’ turn, as Jackal becomes a land that players can travel to. Following the close of the first Rifts after the next update, items known as Lodestones will appear at the site of the Rift and become craftable by players. These Lodestones will allow you to transport your soul to Jackal to take the fight back to them. Lodestone travel will be two-way, and will only transport your soul – no items or skills – but travel back to the lands of Wurm will impart some knowledge onto your character that you gained while on Jackal. The Jackal server will be a server that resets every 6 months, with faster skillgain and action speed to account for this, meaning a fresh start for players wanting to experience it without the feeling of everyone being ahead. These lands are not as tailored for human living as the normal Wurm lands, and this will be evident as you make your way there and explore. Work together and fight your way through the denizens of Jackal and take control of the land. This is only the beginning of what the lands of Jackal entail, more details about this hostile and alien landscape will be unveiled over the coming days. Thanks to everyone who came tonight, was a blast! Special thanks to Welmari, Nukkinak and Deri who helped with the penning as well as all my alliance mates who assisted with the event. And of course grats to those lucky folks who went home with a tome charge, and all the other winners too

It happened to me several months ago as well, with my Fo priest, who was member of another deed, and couldn't charm on my deed under any conditions, despite having same full permission since forever. Eventually I had the Fo priest joining my deed to be able to charm animals on deed, and kept her as villager ever since, but is a workaround which cannot always be used.

Being a new Wurm Online player, I was as confused and overwhelmed as any new player, I saw Aroma's post here on the forum, send her a pm and she promptly responded to me, after a long chat, she invited me to live at her deed, she is super kind, very helpful and a perfect mentor for new players as well as returning players. Thank You, Amora for all the help you have given me, I really appreciate it.

when a player logs in it does 1 simple check. public boolean isInvulnerable() { if (getPower() > 0) { return GMINVULN; } so regardless what the wiki or what ever says, if you have even 1 GM power you are set to invulnerable. TBH this would be a very simple thing to change, maybe a new modder could look at it. A simple hook and replace the getPower() with getPower() - 2 so GM 3 + would be only ones set to invulnerable.

Good job securing it and making it public, also on a weekend. At least the players occasionally provide some weekend event. Almost worth logging in for but not likely. Have a good one slayers.

I don't know how heavy on game performance this would be, yet after the Independence Anniversary event, coupled with valrei mission avatars, I got to thinking. - Would it be to much on the game to have NPC's in different outfits roaming either near starter towns along the highway system routs or for any linkage route for that matter. First it would give the game a bit more of a living feel. When traveling, places are empty alot giving the impression no life or energy of activity about. - Let's also add to it the ability to tie missions to them such as the bartender in the starter town has run out of rye, please find Abe the farmer last seen near Agricularia Homestead and ask him for a bushel of rye, then make a satchel and return to the bartender. - Are these not modulated nodes that could be easily programmed on the trader routes and lets say rewards are a bit different also, some type of archeo fragment of usefulness

Changes and Additions Journal Changes The journal now has the main tutorial and a fishing tutorial which you can use at any time. The First Steps = Replaced Find Route with Join Village on servers where highways are disabled. A close tutorial button has been added for characters older than 6 months. A quickbind page has been added to the tutorial. A mouseover note has been added to the journal reward info as a reminder that the reward will be received on the cluster where the tier is completed. This reduction is more significant against less armoured targets (like cats and wolves), but has minimal effect on tougher creatures (like trolls). Bugfix: Fixed an issue which made journal tiers visible without properly being unlocked by the previous tier. Bugfix: Fixed an issue which caused Paved with Stone journal reward to show complete but no title was rewarded. PvP Bugfix: Added a close tutorial button on pvp servers. PvP Bugfix: Fixed an issue where new deeds would not be chained when placed until a new tower was built or the server was restarted. Fishing changes: Added lore action to rod/pole on boat, and rod/pole/spear/net on tile. Gives a little information on what might be found in areas. Damage to fishing tools is not as drastic as it was for larger fish. Increase rarity bonus on pulling-in failures (less likely to snap rare+ line etc). Destroy fish if tools are broken to prevent floating ghost fish. Max time for initial fish to appear has been lowered. Fish will nibble a bit longer before swimming off. New Fishing tutorial has been added to your journal. Fishing Bugfix: Fixed a few incorrect or confusing fishing messages. Fishing Bugfix: Buoy examine will now show both lamp and barrel dye colours.
