    The fact we are arguing over creating a pvp kingdom for the sake of making money just further exposes a core issue with Wurm in that its own mechanics actively encourages treating the game like a job over valuing the gameplay potential it offers. The next issue that stems from this is that pvpers need to treat it as a part time job in order to pay for every last necessity the game forces on them, while people sit back and look at just a 2 month prem cost and 11x11 deed cost and scream how cheap this game is +1 for finding ways to remove financial exploits, but also for finding ways to remove needing them without negative impacts. You know, like me suggesting for years that res stones should be 1s because people with good gear are using them no matter what so it just makes it more available..

    i would never buy chaos stuff ever. only thing i ever bought was a tower for 50c like 8 yrs ago. I just think its wrong that chaos has a monopoly on this stuff. I think its wrong that everyone elses actions are considered less "worthwhile" just because we dont have the time or will to kill people on chaos. I think its wrong that we are not allowed to have any unique identifiers for pve alliances tabard /etc ( which are present in most any online game) its all about the $$

    So, currently horses or hellhorses aren't affected to the speed penalty that a barding brings when they are hitched to a cart / wagon. Since hellhorse carts with good gear go ~30 km/h they have been used time and time again in pvp, but the last few months it's basically a must have, which kinda sucks in my opinion. This is a simple suggestion to at least make them being affected by the speed penalty a barding would bring anyway. Thanks

    -1 this is the only tactic people on freedom have for stopping the fake chaos economy. give alliances the ability to create our own custom template on pve and this wouldnt happen.

    What does having alts for sermons have to do with creating a kingdom full of alts? Yeah, chaos has 20-30 players online but so does exodus, deli, etc - i dont see whats the point of this argument. Wurm is not a popular game. As it was said, PMK wagons have a high price for a reason. The risk, the res stones, the upkeeps and everything else. It doesnt matter what you think pvp looks like, or should look like. It is what it is. Im not even gonna try to explain any of this because from this post you can clearly see that you are not interested in pvp, you just want the wagons. You just want to come to chaos and skip everything - getting a group of real players, creating a capital, defending it, fighting enemies, expanding the kingdom, building towers, making tons of equipment, making insane amounts of bricks and mortar to build deeds and repair them after attacks, you just wanna skip all that and fill your pocket with that sweet wagon money without any risk, selling them for the same price as the kingdoms who have to fight for their place on chaos. So you're implying we're just laying on a mountain of gold that we have from the wagon sales and swim in it like Scrooge McDuck? A lot of the money actually fuels the economy because chaos players buy a lot of bulk materials, and gear from freedom instead of selling the silvers for euros. Also, creating custom graphics on freedom was already suggested a few times, i'm not gonna repeat what was in those threads. This isnt wurm unlimited where every player has his own wagon design.

    Im sorry but you don't get to play the victim here. I tell you who the victim is : it's the REAL kingdoms on chaos. The ones who go out, do stuff, the ones with an actual playerbase, not a bunch of alts. Wanna know why it hurts them? It's because freedomers will only buy so many things, and PVP'ing is a really expensive business in this game. By adding a bunch of wagons in the market without any risk whatsoever to your well being you effectively take away fighting opportunities... PVP is expensive , this is why : 1. We buy res'stones almost every single week. They are 5 silvers each, you cannot buy them from other players, or through trade, they are 5 silvers and that is it. 2. When you drain a kingdom on Chaos, you gain half of the money drained, the other half goes *POOF* . It's basically gone. So if you drain 37.5 copper, the deed loses 75 copper. 3. We need templars on every single deed unlike freedomers. We need them to inform us of enemies treading on our lands. If every guy on freedom just came up and made a kingdom of alts, even if we all got together and disbanded each and every one of those kingdoms as fast as humanly possible ( Even if they make more money than we would be able to effectively drain ) there would be no more design market. It would disappear entirely. So yeah, thank you Mr Victim for outlying such a "glitch in the matrix" so to say. This is something that needs fixed. Get your share as long as you still can. I hope you're happy with it.

    Hello. In order to prevent people creating PMKs just for money, could we introduce a system where the PMK gear (wagons, banners etc) unlock after reaching 1% influence? Wagons and banners are the main source of kingdoms funds, and their price is high because the money is needed for the deed upkeeps, expanding the kingdom, and other unexpected expenses. PMKs created purely for monetary gain are descreasing the value of other PMK's gear and destroys Chaos reputation. Thanks a lot.

    Currently, "decoration" items don't take damage on deed. This applies to statues, chests, barrels, and anything else that doesn't form a pile on the ground. However, they are only exempt from decay when actually on the ground. For example, an amphora in an amphora rack will take decay damage, as will a barrel or amphora placed on an empty shelf. I consider this problematic in a couple ways: It's counterintuitive. You would expect a barrel to take the same decay on-deed whether it's inside another container or not, especially when simply placed on a table. I wasn't even aware of the difference myself until it was clarified to me by the developers. It unnecessarily discourages the use of decorative and convenience features, such as amphora/small barrel/crate racks and the new ability to place decorations on top of other objects. I'm all ears, but I honestly don't see why this would cause a problem, and it would alleviate some confusion.

    2 logs to start creating a bonfire on the ground. Additional 50-100 logs to finish. Bonfire is like 2-3 meters tall. Quality of the logs affect: - final quality, thus max light radius (should be much higher then standard source of light) - how long it last, without refueling (could be 1 full wurm day on good quality) Additionally, it can be seen from big distances (twice as tall banners or more). - maybe quality could also affect distance, from wich it can be spotted Used for: - marking landing spots for ships - fancy lightning in front of your deed gate or around your walls - generally marking spots, especially a night - you got the idea Why? Couse night is dark and full of terrors.

    -1 A "PvE" alliance could be created so easily with me and one of my alts in two deeds. This would make for hundreds of "PMK graphics" which would be overwhelming for the already busy art developers. This just isn't feasible for the sheer number of "alliances" on Freedom.

    All that i wanna say, lets make it possible for freedomers at freedom. Dont care about your wagons and flags.. At least anymore But let's make freedomers make they own design at freedom for knarrs, caravels, sailboats, for some on wall pictures (that can be added) some things like this. make some pack. more textures for game, will make more people interested in game, also it will up market a bit, course new stuff. Left wagons for Chaos guys. I mean improving graphic in game cant be something bad. Well yeah here i cross the roads for Chaos guys. Ok i agree, but that happened course i cant make my design in a game with out of making kingdom. My apologies about that. But if you guys from Chaos think that it's bad idea to add any graphic in the game (even at freedom) than i can tell you that you really greedy and it's not about your tokens and resurrection stones, it's about you want all for your self. You don't care about the market, you dont care about me, who make pmk, you care about killing competitors only.

    yeah +1 Just add possibility to make some design for items like wagons on freedom for 500s why not. so we will make game prettier and don't make pvp players angry I think it's ain't fair that only pvp kingdom have possibilities to bing they own design in game, why so? Somehow better then pve players? Let's hope that we all care about the whole game, not about only kingdom profit Also i'd like to see kingdom / or designed tabards on freedom that would be fancy

    Added 2 more: 22Aug 2020 I made some new skins for some creatures (not just horses!) if you would like to use them, have at it! I will also make available some skins from the old creaturepack mod that I can't find elsewhere. For some of these textures, I bounced off of other textures done by other people. Thank you to Malena! The new horse colours introduced to WO were amazing. These skins are super simple to use. First you will want to close the game and its launcher, or you will get an error when trying to copy files into the graphics jar. You will need WinRAR or something like it, to be able to open the file. Find your WurmLauncher/packs folder. Find the graphics.jar, and make a copy of it. This is your original, keep it safe somewhere. Then open it up with Winrar. For a creature skin, navigate to /creatures (or /creatures/horse) and you will see the file names that you will be replacing. Simply name the file what colour you would like to replace, and then drag and drop it in here! Name examples listed below. Final step: click okay to the box that pops up when you drop the file in. No need to change anything. Easy! Here are some pictures! Here is the ocelot, unicorn, hell horse, troll and goblin, scorpion, wolf(husky) and brown bear(panda) that I use. Here are some png files. There are some that I don't like - but I will still offer them if someone wishes to use them or edit these themselves.     Hello again everyone! I'm here to Officially announce the Second Annual 2019 Summer Friend-A-Long, Brought to you by Dragon Beard Markets, Academy Network Alliance of Pristine, and random donaters like you out there! This years Event will be held July 22-27/28th. Hopefully this window will allow most folks the chance to attend and join in and the foolery of it all. Some of you may be asking what is an Imp-along? Well basically is a community event where everyone gets together to imp and cast for other folks for free! Anyone can come, anyone can help imp. The only real restrictions is on channeling skill. We have already built a dedicated deed for the event, collected a massive amount of materials, cotton, body bags, booze and cake (maybe cake) for the event! . There will be some minor changes made to the setup based on feedback received, and a few things added. I destroyed a mountain so you could all put your tents closer this year... cause you will need them. I always say if you didn't die at the imp-along you did it wrong, so don't fail me now. Please keep and eye on this thread as i will be updating it regularly with details of events, changes, whatever.... Updates: The event is now over, any items leftover in containers will be sent home with 24 hours to the name on them All room settings will be cleared at the end of the month. When: July 22nd- 27th 2019 Where: Pristine, T16, Friendship Bay deed. Map: https://prnt.sc/jdif1w - In game Map location. Map: https://prnt.sc/jdifka - Map from latest dumps. You can also plot to Friendship Bay from the highway network nearly anywhere on pristine. What to bring: Anything you want Imped, Casted, bloods mixed, your imbues applied, Mendings, etc, if it can be improved we can prob handle it here. What is expected of you as a patron: Be polite and be respectful Don't forget to put your characters NAME ON ALL YOUR ITEMS! Cant stress this enough. Anything not properly named is likely to be lost or stuffed in an overflow bin, and once moved with no name, there is basically no way to identify it as yours. Please try and remove your items promptly once imped/casted to avoid having your items secured in overflow. You do NOT need to label them with what cast/imp you want, just your name. Just make sure you place them in the correct container. Do NOT abuse people's generosity! Don't bring 10 or even 5 of the same item for imping/casting. The only real exception to this might be horse shoes. Anyone caught taking advantage will forfeit there items and be asked to leave. And the veteran impers do know what to look for, i removed almost 100 items last year due to abuse, and it was veterans who tipped me off. Do NOT sell items that were done for you at the impalong. Its about helping people out, not taking advantage of someone else's work to put coin in your pocket. Getting items casted is at your own risk! Thoe the priest will be required to have at least 70 channeling and demonstrate so with there 70+ title. Shatters can and will happen at an event like this. Item quality plays a big in this so if your going to get something casted, consider imping it first. If an item is shattered, and its reproducible on site, feel free to ask someone with skill to re craft it for you. You should not need to pick any items up that are not your (nor will you be able to inside a building) If your items are moved to overflow please contact a "Wurm Lord" Items are only returned to the character named on it! Also feel free to help imp items even if you don't have that skill to 70. The only real restriction is channeling. Everyone is welcome to help out! Consider this an opportunity to grind your skills and no expense to you other then time. Mats and favor are provided so go crazy imp or cast all the things! When you complete and imp or cast please call it out in local to the owner something like "/me VirusMD your pickaxe imp is done!" This should help keep things flowing particularly for items waiting to receive multiple casts. Imping Materials: All materials provided will be stocked in the resource carts next to each station, the general public will not have access to the bulk of materials, please try to NOT COMBINE tiny lumps like silver, gold, electrum, and the like for imping larger items like weapons and shields. Material usage will be alot higher, and we will get alot less imps out of the total stock of that material, less used is more for everyone! if you need a refill on something please ask in local or a "Wurm Lord" for refill. Getting YOUR items imped: As mentioned before be sure ALL your items are correctly named with your character. Find the station relavent to the skill required for your equipment. for example Hammers in Blacksmithing, Swords in Weapon smithing etc. Most are pretty obvious. Some of the most commonly misplaced items are: Carving Knife, Sickle, and Scythe witch are actually Weapon smithing. (Cooking) Knife and Leather Knife are actually Blacksmithing. New fishing rods are Fine carpentry, and the legacy rods are Carpentry Fishing Reels are Jewelry Smithing, with the exception of the deep water reel witch is Blacksmithing What is expected as an Imper or Caster at the Friend-A-Long: All of the above + Please name your lumps/materials if you have to put them back in the forge etc 70+ in your imping skills of choice is recommended but feel free to chip in with whatever skills you have for imping. -OR- 70+ Channeling skill is required to be permitted to cast on other people's items. You should be sure to wear your 70+ channeling title Sermons: Sermons are volunteer led, if you wish to participate in the sermon group please ask for a sermon team invite in local, and get further information for slotting inside that channel. What we still need: Still taking last minute room reservations, and please do sign up for the events your interested in below, there is still work to be done once i know who is participating when etc. But mainly its down to prizes prizes prizes! Anything you think might make a decent reward. Ships, rares, Kingdom Flags, Hota's Arch statues, etc.... anything you think might be a good prize. Donations are recorded and accredited here on the thread and announced when given away in case you want to make a donation for a service thread etc. If you can attend are want to work some skills specifically please post, and let me know what your willing to do, so we can get a general idea what we have covered. Friendship Inn and Lounge: Need a place to sleep off a hard days work? Hide from a GM (good luck), or just get out of the way? The Friendship inn and Lounge, has a pleasant little relaxation area on the room with a wide variety of booze for you discerning wurmian hooligans. The inn is capable of bedding 80 characters in 70 secure rooms with storage options. If you need a secure room for your stay please make a post requesting a room, be sure to include your character(s) names in the post. There is also a large piece of land set aside for "Tent City" Just outside the inn on the sandy beach area next to the docking (parking) slips on the East end of the event location. Room Numbers and Assignment: *PLEASE CHECK ROSTER FOR ROOM ASSIGNMENTS, SOME CHANGES WERE MADE* The Deed: The imping hall itself it a 5 floor pottery building with slate/marble decor. with 3 floors dedicated to various tasks. The First floor is the Smithing area, with 24x forges nestled together in a large group in the center, in the corners you will find some relaxing area's to afk/get out of the way in along with stairwells to the other floors. The second floor is for Non smithing related imps, broken into 4 main area's depending on the skill used. The 3rd floor is the Casting/sermon floor. I've broken all the spells into 4 main groups, based on the spell/priests that cast it. each group has at least 2-4 dedicated altars PER priest for that category, the more common priest like vyn/nahjo have at least 15 altars each on that floor, so no worries about tripping over each other at the altar! All organized into corners, In the center of it all is another ring of altars, surrounding a rare altar for the sermon goers, and the building is designed in such a way, that everyone below you should be counted as listeners for HUGE faith ticks! At this time we have about 3 Million Favor worth of veggies ready to go! Want to help chop? no? good we don't need you, because@ChampagneDragonis amazing and did ALL the prep work for the veggies for us! Apparently he likes doing this, so yah, amazing! He also does it for your precious silvers, so if you need stuff chopped look no further. Ship Imps: The WEST end of the deed is where docks are located for people who would like there ships imped as well. Please do not park here if your ship is over 70q, and Please move your ship once it has been imped help keep congestion down in the area for the impers.     Please give PVE alliances with enough members the opportunity to have a PVE alliance flair package similar to kingdoms. There is no reason to deny us this... There is a larger amount of players playing the pve portion than the PvP portion of the game. Codeclub AB will make money because there will be more people paying for this feature. Why shouldn't people that dont participate in pvp be able to form thier own pve banners/wagons/tents the syetem is already in the game. Pros - more income for Codeclub AB - more color - ability to showcase/ form alliance spirit/pride - less inequality in the pvp/pve balance Cons -Some more work for code club AB introducing new graphics (but i think the skinning process for those items is already there) -PVP will lose profit selling thier special colors. Solutions? One option would be dissallowing certain colors in freedom so pvp players could maintain some pride "pvp colors" ( ex. red or black or w/e) increasing the price to 2g for alliance flair package since it is less volatile than pvp.     Alright, here’s what’s happening over the next few months. As said in the last dev blog, we’ve switched to a different update cycle with monthly smaller updates and interspersed larger marketable updates, aiming for a few large updates a year on a predictable schedule. This month’s small update includes the client rendering distance changes that have been worked on for the past while, as well as some new creature AI additions, and the usual slew of bug fixes. These AI changes are intended to finish off the work started a long time ago on the Valrei creatures with the initial Uttacha changes, making them more interesting encounters in combat than the usual ‘target and wait’ that a large portion of PvE combat is currently. These Valrei creature changes will ideally make any fights involving the remaining creatures more interesting and varied than normal, and will lead into some content for the planned large update later on. The June and July updates are currently planned to include a few new UI changes for the preview client, as well as overall UI QoL features and general combat & combat UI improvements with some focus on giving more information to the player about what is happening in combat, as well as the usual bug fixes and possibly another new feature that I’m not ready to share yet. The first planned large update in this new cycle will be a large expansion to an existing set of content in Wurm Online which will see players exploring new lands and working together against a common enemy - hereafter codenamed Frontier. It will combine a lot of existing features and recent changes in Wurm into a big chunk of new content available to all players - old and new. The Valrei creature changes going live this month are a precursor to some of the work that will be involved with this update, and the reason they are going out early is to help us gather feedback over the next short while to lead into some of the planned changes for Frontier. As I’ve said in the past I don’t want to share too many details before they are finalised or well underway, so the most I will give out right now is that it will be a large update with new repeatable content that should entice players with a wide range of interests, and touch most parts of Wurm as a whole. Later in the year after Frontier is complete we’ll be moving onto extending the building options available to everyone, and later on after that we will begin working on plans for introducing another new skill to the game. Frontier will also be a precursor for big changes that will come to Epic in the future, and feedback from how everything goes later in the year will inform us on how we implement the current plans that we have. These changes to Epic won’t be anytime in the next few months, but when they do come they will involve a large overhaul to the cluster in an attempt to bring it closer to the original design for Epic years ago. We will be addressing the larger complaints of the Epic community in that update - but some smaller changes will be heading to live in the coming months as well. For those changes see the recent feedback thread posted here. More info about the exact plans we have for later on will be shared after Frontier is live. As always, more information about everything we’re working on will be shared closer to the dates that they’ll be coming in. Frontier will be accompanied by a marketing push to help make the most out of the new update cycle, and is where everyone will get a lot more info about what exactly is coming into the game.

    Path of Hate currently blocks anything thats cast directly at the player with LVL 11 Hate, only exception is Dispell. Seems off that spell like Purge or Tangleweave would be blocked. They arent spells that do any damage, and are basically variations of Dispell. Spell Immunity Gained at level 11 Spell Immunity - gives protection against offensive spells (details needed)

    Yes please, god that would be 10x easier than constantly worry about jumping servers then realising you are screwed on rewards. I don't even care about the title but forcing players to receive a 2.5% permanent skillgain on a cluster they don't even play on is just... So can I get the option to please choose the reward on freedom where I wanted to get it anyway since apparently I should have gotten it there in the first place? Sorry about the bitterness in my words, but this seems just ridiculous considering the last 3 journal goal stages take a lot of time and investment.

    Exactly, it was a hard hit having damage bonuses from priests go from 25% to 15% for PvP balancing. (Although that update wasn't very balanced) Plus healing resistances. spell resistances, and guard tower repairs and all that stuff. I see a lot of nerfs coming in the future from complaints, and I don't see why PvE should feel it. Oakshell is a good example, that was fun, now it's not nearly as good. About 33% less effective than before so wearing armour is required usually now.

    Some random thoughts on the subject, I don't think they'll remove it just because every kingdom made costs a gold lol, but i feel that making PMK gear should be a kingdom title so you don't get losers joining just to spam wagons. Someone's invested a gold into having their own design into the game, should they not be allowed to use it as they will? Should pvp require such a large amount of silver invested that you're almost forced to become a wagon vender just to fund your game? Most people that buy wagons/banners seem to have an obsession with buying one of each PMK just to show off their collection, does having 1 more kingdom really impact you that much, seeing as the average person owns multiple kingdoms merch? Should there be a limit before your designs are put in the game? 1/2% land and 90 days seems reasonable enough that it won't stop anyone determined to be a kingdom, but anyone that's just making a kingdom for spamming gear could easily be found and disbanded in that time. People like to talk about how much silver pmk's earn from wagon sales and whatnot, but pretty much all of it goes back into the economy in one way or another. In the end it's just people earning easy money however they can, much like traders. Can't say I've never heard the idea come up in a convo before but i'm surprised someone actually bothered to do it lol. i guess the locate soul nerf made it actually feasible to sneak in a pmk somewhere remote

    You need 2% for titles to work, 1% on PMK gear is reasonable. Don't think many fledgling kingdoms worry about flags and wagons before they get a foothold. Literally just a cash grab, kinda gross.

    Adding a new one: 1. announce no more developments for pvp. Clearly after this many years and the game shrinking in population they do not have the resources or time to fiddle around with a failing product in PVP. Instead, they should revamp the end-game of the PVE world from crafting, to PVE monsters, to animal taming... This coming from someone who quit because the pvp servers were dead (years ago on HOTS) and there weren't any more players coming. Wurm Online is the best version of The Sims medieval out there and they need to double down on this concept. PVP has been a thorn in this games side for a long time, filling the boards with constant bickering/complaints for years, and any new player that happens to try pvp will be quickly turned off when they realize it will take years to compete and in the mean time since there's so few players, you're going to get a lot of visits from the locals. Imagine if they had relocated all that time/effort into the PVE side of things, we wouldn't still be killing spiders and gators non stop.

    Just make a requirement "20 in any skill" then. Or 20 in any Body characteristic. Or 20 in Fight -or- 20 in Masonry -or- 20 in Repair. Or make it premium players only if they want to stop "freebie alts", since they are pretty much already penalizing non-premium characters in this regard anyway. That way they weed out throwaway alts for some stupid pvp game mechanic reasons, without requiring players with zero interest in combat and fighting be required to grind up combat and fighting skills. A farmer, a cook, a pacifist, should all be acceptable gameplay options. And any pvper who insists how "easy" it is to just spend your first days in the game grinding 20 fight skill even if you don't want to, are pretty much proving this rule is not stopping them and their friends from making repair tower alts despite the rule. And that the game is based on meaningless grind for the sake of grind, not on making choices on how to spend your efforts.

    +1, we just had a pmk created with 2s alts, and the "King" ordered a lot of unfinished wagons on freedom just to profit from it. Maybe the players needed to create a PMK should also have a skill requirement like 50 fighting or something, that could solve half of the problem.

    You mistake criticism in not wanting the game to die and fade away for "whining". An mmo requires players, especially for pvp. You may be content with playing on a server that has a monthly average of 6 players, while I, and obviously many others, look at the total pop right now and see 255 players on every server combined and think "this isn't right, please do something". You may be content with players not having a voice and just shutting up and watch the total premiums drop every week while we just play blind and look for things good, but as evident by the prems disappearing every week, the majority does not feel the same. If we are here speaking, that means we haven't decided to leave yet, should we just ignore the glaring issues until we decide to?
