Hello. In order to prevent people creating PMKs just for money, could we introduce a system where the PMK gear (wagons, banners etc) unlock after reaching 1% influence? Wagons and banners are the main source of kingdoms funds, and their price is high because the money is needed for the deed upkeeps, expanding the kingdom, and other unexpected expenses. PMKs created purely for monetary gain are descreasing the value of other PMK's gear and destroys Chaos reputation. Thanks a lot.

Distant rumblings are heard as rumour spreads, the creatures of Valrei have taken notice of freedom lands, and seek to test your mettle... Over this weekend we'll be hosting Valrei invasions at various starter deeds, with the intention to hit all major start deeds (Xanadu might not get them all, but I think we still left the portal to vrock landing up, so we might just use there). We'll give approximately 2 hours notice via the event tab ingame, so be ready to set forth! We'll be using the new creature combat AI for deathcrawlers, sol demons, eagle spirits as well as the spawn of uttachas existing mechanics, previously only on epic. If you can't make it but want to see the action, I'll be hosting some pop up streams with all the chaos coming live on twitch, so check us out there and follow if you haven't already! https://twitch.tv/wurmonlineofficial/ See you there!

What does having alts for sermons have to do with creating a kingdom full of alts? Yeah, chaos has 20-30 players online but so does exodus, deli, etc - i dont see whats the point of this argument. Wurm is not a popular game. As it was said, PMK wagons have a high price for a reason. The risk, the res stones, the upkeeps and everything else. It doesnt matter what you think pvp looks like, or should look like. It is what it is. Im not even gonna try to explain any of this because from this post you can clearly see that you are not interested in pvp, you just want the wagons. You just want to come to chaos and skip everything - getting a group of real players, creating a capital, defending it, fighting enemies, expanding the kingdom, building towers, making tons of equipment, making insane amounts of bricks and mortar to build deeds and repair them after attacks, you just wanna skip all that and fill your pocket with that sweet wagon money without any risk, selling them for the same price as the kingdoms who have to fight for their place on chaos. So you're implying we're just laying on a mountain of gold that we have from the wagon sales and swim in it like Scrooge McDuck? A lot of the money actually fuels the economy because chaos players buy a lot of bulk materials, and gear from freedom instead of selling the silvers for euros. Also, creating custom graphics on freedom was already suggested a few times, i'm not gonna repeat what was in those threads. This isnt wurm unlimited where every player has his own wagon design.

Im sorry but you don't get to play the victim here. I tell you who the victim is : it's the REAL kingdoms on chaos. The ones who go out, do stuff, the ones with an actual playerbase, not a bunch of alts. Wanna know why it hurts them? It's because freedomers will only buy so many things, and PVP'ing is a really expensive business in this game. By adding a bunch of wagons in the market without any risk whatsoever to your well being you effectively take away fighting opportunities... PVP is expensive , this is why : 1. We buy res'stones almost every single week. They are 5 silvers each, you cannot buy them from other players, or through trade, they are 5 silvers and that is it. 2. When you drain a kingdom on Chaos, you gain half of the money drained, the other half goes *POOF* . It's basically gone. So if you drain 37.5 copper, the deed loses 75 copper. 3. We need templars on every single deed unlike freedomers. We need them to inform us of enemies treading on our lands. If every guy on freedom just came up and made a kingdom of alts, even if we all got together and disbanded each and every one of those kingdoms as fast as humanly possible ( Even if they make more money than we would be able to effectively drain ) there would be no more design market. It would disappear entirely. So yeah, thank you Mr Victim for outlying such a "glitch in the matrix" so to say. This is something that needs fixed. Get your share as long as you still can. I hope you're happy with it.

The fact we are arguing over creating a pvp kingdom for the sake of making money just further exposes a core issue with Wurm in that its own mechanics actively encourages treating the game like a job over valuing the gameplay potential it offers. The next issue that stems from this is that pvpers need to treat it as a part time job in order to pay for every last necessity the game forces on them, while people sit back and look at just a 2 month prem cost and 11x11 deed cost and scream how cheap this game is +1 for finding ways to remove financial exploits, but also for finding ways to remove needing them without negative impacts. You know, like me suggesting for years that res stones should be 1s because people with good gear are using them no matter what so it just makes it more available..

All that seems that you like that at pvp only ~19-20 online and in best time it's reach ~ 50 online with all you ALTs for sermons However, you can see Epic changes? Hope you do, there will be total mass fight with all around accounts.. you can buy for sure some resurrect stones but that up on you, nobody push you to buy them Yeah you get not so much money per drain the deed so maybe at least you will try to think that pvp made not to make money but to enjoy fight? Let's remove the huge value of pvp game, you think online on Chaos still will be 20? And I'm not a victim. I just up on progress, for more people play this game course its awesome. All that you do on pvp is not something like you MUST, it's what you want. So dont bring it's like hard working Everything simple, you want more people play pvp, make them dont fear to lose all huge value that they have, make pvp fun and not so toxic like you show now

yeah +1 Just add possibility to make some design for items like wagons on freedom for 500s why not. so we will make game prettier and don't make pvp players angry I think it's ain't fair that only pvp kingdom have possibilities to bing they own design in game, why so? Somehow better then pve players? Let's hope that we all care about the whole game, not about only kingdom profit Also i'd like to see kingdom / or designed tabards on freedom that would be fancy

Before you find the deed token, they could already have 100 wagons stocked on their freedom deeds. There's a high probability that its just a token in the middle of the field, or in some old ruins so theres nothing to cart away. With no way of disbanding the deed other than continuous draining it can take a long time before that happens. Also that can be prolonged just by throwing the money into the deed (money acquired from the wagon sales). Before the introduction of the 2s alts, you had to pay 1g for the declaration of independence plus 10s for each alt, so thats 2,5gold in alt premium only, 3,5g total. Now that cost is down to 1,5g total so thats a big difference. You pretty much need to sell 10 wagons and you're in the green. Imo the 2s alts shouldnt count and the wagons created should be normal freedom wagons untill you hit the influence treshold
  15. 2 points
+1, we just had a pmk created with 2s alts, and the "King" ordered a lot of unfinished wagons on freedom just to profit from it. Maybe the players needed to create a PMK should also have a skill requirement like 50 fighting or something, that could solve half of the problem.
  16. 2 points
Yes, wagon kingdoms shouldn't exist just to profit.

I was talking with a friend about this post today and decided to look it up and remember it. Rageed is still alive and well, living with me in Independence now. He's a gazillion years old, but still the best 4 speed horse ever! [03:04:41] It has fleeter movement than normal. It has a strong body. It has lightning movement. It has very strong leg muscles. It seems overly aggressive.

Unfortunately this is part of taking on responsibility to organize something. As long as no one organizes anything, no one has any expectations - but because you took on the challenge now people expect something from you. On the other hand, I too wish this was handled better...You said you waited for 2 hours, did you try PM ing the people on the forums that registered? Some of them could have seen the message with plenty of time to spare The last big hurdle to get Benediction for my GF is exactly this. Eveyrihting else can be completed within a day...so in effect, you just set back one person in particular by some time, a person that actually registered for this. I am not upset, it's a community event after all, I am just sad for relying on a system (and that is why sniping happens, because people don't trust a system...) In any case I don't want to derail the topic itself, which is very noble - but wanted to point out the irony in what has happened

This is Orga. It has no snow, marsh, or lava tiles, but every other type. When you first launch it, flowers are more rare, but they grow over time. Ores are average frequency, with adamantine and glimmersteel about as common as gold, which is half as common as silver. I think the land masses could easily be divided by kingdom. Tons of little patches of clay, tar, and peat all over the map. If you're interested in it, let me know.

Only if I get to yell monty python insults at you all while you do so. I'm up for it, if any PvP kingdom would like to test it on chaos we can arrange that. I mean, we could just spawn them on the hota zone as a final goodbye

Hello everyone, As a long term player, I've struggled on and off to find a skill that has really sucked me into the game. After the cooking update, like many others, my group of friends were brought back into the game with this major change. And once I found out stills existed, I just knew I had to use them. Beverages was oddly fun to experiment with, creating new drinks, using new tools and learning a system without much documentation at all. With the help of a friend of mine, even creating a calculator to match the drink to an affinity and documenting timer length based on quality. However, our optimism of a new market being made for alcohol was quickly shattered once we found out that only moonshine with every possible ingredient gave a timer worth selling. And so, this document was created. Within, you will find changes I believe will make the skill more engaging, rewarding and interesting. And maybe even opening the door for ice sculptures, the item we all want but never knew we wanted. Any and all feedback is appreciated, as I really have tried to think of every possible way of making the system a lot better. A massive thank you also to Fabricant and Demonix for helping me a lot in the early and later stages of this document and encouraging me along. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D8_xfBbX_spNwIeljN7m4Ljt78GzdcHJBd_7WH3KMI8/edit?usp=sharing And for those maybe not wanting to read the full document, I will give a very very very short summary Allowing the creation of ice and coffee Creating a cocktail set to mix drinks New recipes using these tools And creating an item type that can be used to give us ice sculptures...

Worth a like, even just for the decorative roleplay-style setup picture :) Another unmentioned benefit to such items would be a reduction in 'trash' left behind at such events and in general, for a potentially substantial period of time after temporary events.

This is now the third time I've been excluded from this cast on Xanadu, not by shadowy players, but by friendly ones who, though aware of my desire to participate, do not wait or make any attempt at contact. So sour grapes (of which there are certainly some) aside, I'm a bit confused about what the point of this exercise has been. As I understood it, the plan was to wait for the favour pool to fill, and then agree a time and place so all willing attendees on the list had reasonable notice to make sure they could participate (a few hours is not reasonable, unless we're to give up sleep, quit our jobs, abandon our families, etc. etc. for Wurm). Instead, you've gone and cast the rite immediately and involved only those people who were available at the time; and for that much, I commend you. But there were no PMs, and no waiting. What real difference is there between this and any other group that has 'sniped' the rite in the past, i.e. cast it immediately for fear that someone else would cast it first? Not a whole lot from where I'm standing. Don't get me wrong, I still believe the major fault lies with the devs for contriving such an obviously flawed system that is anathema to fun and cooperation. But I am rather disappointed as I had thought this thread was an attempt to take the high road: plan and organize the rite in advance, and if someone snipes it ahead of time, then that's on them and at least we have some evidence to point to when asking the devs for changes. Instead, we're left with the same desperate grabbiness, the same inevitable acrimony that bubbles out in the aftermath, and no clear answer as to whether cooperation can win out over 'sniping'.

We have actually done something like this before. It was the server named Pristine. Pristine (and later, Release) were both launched under a "quarantine" system -- only brand new characters (with nothing) could be created there. People could not bring over ships filled with stuff and existing characters. This allowed the "new character" population to develop its own self reliance, economy and sense of pride without constantly "competing" with characters that had been skilling up for a decade. If they had dragons & uniques and no one had fighting skill more than 10, they just had to deal with it on their own. Everyone started with nothing, there were no mailboxes until brand new priests could make pilgrimages to the white light altar to establish their priesthood and then slowly grind up their skill. After a set period (I forget how long? Perhaps a year, I forget now) the people on that server eventually wanted to be connected with the game community as a whole. There was really nolonger a point to keeping them isolated, as any new players from that point would be now playing against high skilled veteran players who once started-with-nothing. It actually worked EXACTLY as you predicted. Old players came back, new players were attracted in, Wurm had some of its biggest population surges ever. But eventually, the newness wears off and you have yet-another-server spreading the population over a thinner and thinner density. Now most people -- even those of us who LOVE new servers -- realize this system has a built in issue. Even if they did something as complicated as this "ironman" creation, eventually the people would tire of it and want to play the game with other established players -- but in your example, since they can -NEVER- escape the ironman status, they would simply quit rather than have to start over yet again. We would lose them forever as players, instead of attracting new / returning players who would stay. It's an idea with a lot of merit ... and unfortunately also with a lot of flaws.

just in case no one shows up, here are some previously posted 2k maps (Bdew has one named "Broken Islands" that looks like what you want) ** edit, oops BDew's map is the one they are currently using for their server Otherlands, and as a result they did not release the server files needed to use this map yourself. They were just asking for feedback. Sorry about that.

This is pointless. Explain how this makes the game more fun again? Were you trying to make a list of ways to make the game an even bigger PITA? Here let me help you.... 1. Remove crates. Completely. Build rafts and haul a full Corbita of a whopping 4,000 dirt, like the good old days. 2. Remove the crafting window. 3. Disallow the use of any tool except spoons to chop down trees. 4. Disable farming - you want to eat? Forage for it! There, is that hardcore enough for you? -1

Hello Wurm Lords, Once more I am here pleading my case for flower seeds and new and better plants. Sunflower tiles where trees cant grow, or just flower tiles that look more like garden tiles, but where trees CANNOT grow. forests are nice, but must the entire world be covered in forest? rose bushes with ROSES ON THE THEM. Being able to get seeds from flowers so you can have more of the elusive white dotted flowers. And maybe just add some flowers to the flower tiles you have . How about flower arches, window boxes, or wall climbing flowers. Or lamp post climbing flowers. Please... give us things to beautify our WURMY WORLD. As always your humble servant, Not stupid BOBB

They are required because there are various instances within WyvernMods where there are references to the aforementioned mods. In order for some of the features to work, these are dependencies. Meaning they have to be installed in order to work. Even if you don't intend to use them, the mod as a whole will not function correctly and probably crash without them. This is a huge package of modifications. It would be impractical to separate these all out into individual mods to pick and choose which ones to install, as no one ever did it with the exception of WyvernItems for however long the source was released. So the next best thing is to make said options configurable, but in order to do that you have to install the entire mod, as well as its dependencies with the most up to date versions so everything required by WyvernMods is loaded by modlauncher. That being said, the configuration file does allow you to turn them off if you do not wish to utilize those features, but they must be installed in order for it to work properly with the way mods have to be created and compiled to work. Angelklaine's explanation is pretty spot on. And the feelings behind it are pretty spot on as well. Wurm Online is a huge world of possibilities and when you mix humans in the mix... well sometimes 2+2 doesn't come anywhere near to 4. We would prefer to help all involved and to understand and explain any issues that are causing unrest. Very rarely have we had to invoke this rule, and the few we have had to actually ban over it, wow... just....wow...
  50. 1 point
This rule is pretty much a catch-all rule GMs use to address any issue they could not think of at the moment the rules were created. For example, someone could use a cart to phase to the inside of a fence and pick up a drake set from a chest they would not otherwise be able to. Or someone drops dirt in front of someone's docks beaching all their boats in the process. Or a dude comes and parks all his caravels on your deed because they block his view, so he rather blocks yours. Rules like these allow GMs to address unexpected situations by using a "catch all rule". Generally this applies to common sense actions which a reasonable person would say "Yeah that's a shitty move". On principle I don't like these rules because the person applying it can be completely subjective and their application is based on what the perception of morality the GM has at the time. Humans are quirky creatures, and its hard to predict what bothers one person and not another.
