    Hello again everyone! I'm here to Officially announce the Second Annual 2019 Summer Friend-A-Long, Brought to you by Dragon Beard Markets, Academy Network Alliance of Pristine, and random donaters like you out there! This years Event will be held July 22-27/28th. Hopefully this window will allow most folks the chance to attend and join in and the foolery of it all. Some of you may be asking what is an Imp-along? Well basically is a community event where everyone gets together to imp and cast for other folks for free! Anyone can come, anyone can help imp. The only real restrictions is on channeling skill. We have already built a dedicated deed for the event, collected a massive amount of materials, cotton, body bags, booze and cake (maybe cake) for the event! . There will be some minor changes made to the setup based on feedback received, and a few things added. I destroyed a mountain so you could all put your tents closer this year... cause you will need them. I always say if you didn't die at the imp-along you did it wrong, so don't fail me now. Please keep and eye on this thread as i will be updating it regularly with details of events, changes, whatever.... Updates: The event is now over, any items leftover in containers will be sent home with 24 hours to the name on them All room settings will be cleared at the end of the month. When: July 22nd- 27th 2019 Where: Pristine, T16, Friendship Bay deed. Map: https://prnt.sc/jdif1w - In game Map location. Map: https://prnt.sc/jdifka - Map from latest dumps. You can also plot to Friendship Bay from the highway network nearly anywhere on pristine. What to bring: Anything you want Imped, Casted, bloods mixed, your imbues applied, Mendings, etc, if it can be improved we can prob handle it here. What is expected of you as a patron: Be polite and be respectful Don't forget to put your characters NAME ON ALL YOUR ITEMS! Cant stress this enough. Anything not properly named is likely to be lost or stuffed in an overflow bin, and once moved with no name, there is basically no way to identify it as yours. Please try and remove your items promptly once imped/casted to avoid having your items secured in overflow. You do NOT need to label them with what cast/imp you want, just your name. Just make sure you place them in the correct container. Do NOT abuse people's generosity! Don't bring 10 or even 5 of the same item for imping/casting. The only real exception to this might be horse shoes. Anyone caught taking advantage will forfeit there items and be asked to leave. And the veteran impers do know what to look for, i removed almost 100 items last year due to abuse, and it was veterans who tipped me off. Do NOT sell items that were done for you at the impalong. Its about helping people out, not taking advantage of someone else's work to put coin in your pocket. Getting items casted is at your own risk! Thoe the priest will be required to have at least 70 channeling and demonstrate so with there 70+ title. Shatters can and will happen at an event like this. Item quality plays a big in this so if your going to get something casted, consider imping it first. If an item is shattered, and its reproducible on site, feel free to ask someone with skill to re craft it for you. You should not need to pick any items up that are not your (nor will you be able to inside a building) If your items are moved to overflow please contact a "Wurm Lord" Items are only returned to the character named on it! Also feel free to help imp items even if you don't have that skill to 70. The only real restriction is channeling. Everyone is welcome to help out! Consider this an opportunity to grind your skills and no expense to you other then time. Mats and favor are provided so go crazy imp or cast all the things! When you complete and imp or cast please call it out in local to the owner something like "/me VirusMD your pickaxe imp is done!" This should help keep things flowing particularly for items waiting to receive multiple casts. Imping Materials: All materials provided will be stocked in the resource carts next to each station, the general public will not have access to the bulk of materials, please try to NOT COMBINE tiny lumps like silver, gold, electrum, and the like for imping larger items like weapons and shields. Material usage will be alot higher, and we will get alot less imps out of the total stock of that material, less used is more for everyone! if you need a refill on something please ask in local or a "Wurm Lord" for refill. Getting YOUR items imped: As mentioned before be sure ALL your items are correctly named with your character. Find the station relavent to the skill required for your equipment. for example Hammers in Blacksmithing, Swords in Weapon smithing etc. Most are pretty obvious. Some of the most commonly misplaced items are: Carving Knife, Sickle, and Scythe witch are actually Weapon smithing. (Cooking) Knife and Leather Knife are actually Blacksmithing. New fishing rods are Fine carpentry, and the legacy rods are Carpentry Fishing Reels are Jewelry Smithing, with the exception of the deep water reel witch is Blacksmithing What is expected as an Imper or Caster at the Friend-A-Long: All of the above + Please name your lumps/materials if you have to put them back in the forge etc 70+ in your imping skills of choice is recommended but feel free to chip in with whatever skills you have for imping. -OR- 70+ Channeling skill is required to be permitted to cast on other people's items. You should be sure to wear your 70+ channeling title Sermons: Sermons are volunteer led, if you wish to participate in the sermon group please ask for a sermon team invite in local, and get further information for slotting inside that channel. What we still need: Still taking last minute room reservations, and please do sign up for the events your interested in below, there is still work to be done once i know who is participating when etc. But mainly its down to prizes prizes prizes! Anything you think might make a decent reward. Ships, rares, Kingdom Flags, Hota's Arch statues, etc.... anything you think might be a good prize. Donations are recorded and accredited here on the thread and announced when given away in case you want to make a donation for a service thread etc. If you can attend are want to work some skills specifically please post, and let me know what your willing to do, so we can get a general idea what we have covered. Friendship Inn and Lounge: Need a place to sleep off a hard days work? Hide from a GM (good luck), or just get out of the way? The Friendship inn and Lounge, has a pleasant little relaxation area on the room with a wide variety of booze for you discerning wurmian hooligans. The inn is capable of bedding 80 characters in 70 secure rooms with storage options. If you need a secure room for your stay please make a post requesting a room, be sure to include your character(s) names in the post. There is also a large piece of land set aside for "Tent City" Just outside the inn on the sandy beach area next to the docking (parking) slips on the East end of the event location. Room Numbers and Assignment: *PLEASE CHECK ROSTER FOR ROOM ASSIGNMENTS, SOME CHANGES WERE MADE* The Deed: The imping hall itself it a 5 floor pottery building with slate/marble decor. with 3 floors dedicated to various tasks. The First floor is the Smithing area, with 24x forges nestled together in a large group in the center, in the corners you will find some relaxing area's to afk/get out of the way in along with stairwells to the other floors. The second floor is for Non smithing related imps, broken into 4 main area's depending on the skill used. The 3rd floor is the Casting/sermon floor. I've broken all the spells into 4 main groups, based on the spell/priests that cast it. each group has at least 2-4 dedicated altars PER priest for that category, the more common priest like vyn/nahjo have at least 15 altars each on that floor, so no worries about tripping over each other at the altar! All organized into corners, In the center of it all is another ring of altars, surrounding a rare altar for the sermon goers, and the building is designed in such a way, that everyone below you should be counted as listeners for HUGE faith ticks! At this time we have about 3 Million Favor worth of veggies ready to go! Want to help chop? no? good we don't need you, because@ChampagneDragonis amazing and did ALL the prep work for the veggies for us! Apparently he likes doing this, so yah, amazing! He also does it for your precious silvers, so if you need stuff chopped look no further. Ship Imps: The WEST end of the deed is where docks are located for people who would like there ships imped as well. Please do not park here if your ship is over 70q, and Please move your ship once it has been imped help keep congestion down in the area for the impers. Ship Parking: The EAST end of the deed houses several new docking teirs that will house many ships, if your ship does not need to be impled please be sure to park on the EAST side of the deed, where "Tent City" is located just East of the Friendship Inn and Lounge. Blood Mixing: We have a large supply of source salt for potion making, so feel free to bring your bloods for mixing. Hopefully well get a couple high skill volunteers who can do them for us!     Chaos seems to be moving quite slowly, and I've been thinking of ways to increase participation in the games opt-in PvP server. One such thought was a chaos <-> freedom portal. Obviously such a portal could be abused in certain ways so I've come up with a few restrictions that might make it a bit less abusable. Can only build 1 per kingdom, and can not be moved easily, might even be a toggle for your "capital" to teleport to its token that can be changed every six months simillar to the name. (to prevent hopping back and forth to freedom to instant-defend a remote deed). Can not bring any items through, you'd have to leave your freedom gear in freedom and vice versa, or sail it as normal(This feature should not be used for trading or safely shipping items). Possibly a cooldown when coming from freedom to chaos(more 1 hour than 1 day) before being able to go back again to prevent using the feature for scouting. Can not be used unless you've been in a kingdom for a set amount of time(2 weeks?), this means you must sail there the first time. (If preventing mercenaries is desired, however I think that's just a sandbox feature). The idea is to lower the barrier of entry for freedom players to participate in PvP, and to enable players that want to do both to participate in PvP more often on weekdays and when limited on time. Few issues that spring to mind: Can hire a group of freedomers as mercs and bring in to attack/defend (provided you equip them, since they can't bring gear), however this seems more like a sandbox element than a problem.     The expression of the mask is that of a predator daring anyone to challenge the wearer in combat. This is a very rare and interesting version of the item. Colors: R=21, G=222, B=75. You can barely make out the signature of its maker, '.al.'. A gold rune of Jackal has been attached, so it will reduce size (10%) Web Armour has been cast on it, so it may slow down creatures when they hit this armour. [80] Reduced weight of 2.25kg. Fits in a Bag of Keeping, with or without the rune. A long and slender sword. This is a very rare and interesting version of the item. It bears an aura of Smeagain. It could be improved with a lump. You can barely make out the signature of its maker, 'Vali'. It is enchanted with Human Demise and will be more effective against humans. Nimbleness has been cast on it, so it increase the chance to hit. [96] Shatter Protection has been cast on it, so it protects against damage when spells are cast upon it [100] A gold rune of Jackal has been attached, so it will reduce size (10%) Life Transfer has been cast on it, so it will transfer life to you when harming enemies. [91] Circle of Cunning has been cast on it, so it will increase skill gained with it when used. [94] Mind Stealer has been cast on it, so it will steal skill knowledge from some creatures.     IntelliJ > Eclipse imo; at least for any long term development. You want to use maven(1) or gradle(2). Probably gradle would be better. 1: https://maven.apache.org/articles.html 2: https://gradle.com/training/introduction-to-gradle-05202019/ think of both of those as packagemanager+makefile. It describes dependencies that are downloaded from the "maven central" repository (or other repository) during build. Using libraries picked by-hand is something you definitely could do, but if you are willing to publish code later, you should not. Even if you don't plan on publishing, you should not. Ago publishes both client and server modloader jars on his repos. Its PITA to figure out on how to build a random bunch of java source files downloaded from github. this also is pretty much trivialised by using either build system. I can't produce examples (anymore) on either of those; read up on @bdew's mods on github. Bdew's love, Bdew's life, Bdew's awesome. All hail Bdew. Then, client-helper mod's code is relatively easy to read, too (its full of bad examples of code though, imho; but hey, it works so its good enough (no sarcasm here)).

    Those mean kids. Especially that crazy damn peasant zien. Pls share what mean things they said or did to hurt you. Throw up your log. As I remember, people were telling you to stop running into the mob. And they were giving you sound advice on gearing, game mechanics etc. Maybe they were not eloquent enough to express their advice in a nicer, more palatable manner. As a fellow noob, I know that the truth hurts sometimes. Makes you feel stupid, like a disappointed donsky, or a silly dumb bell maybe. But hopefully, if you stay on, you'll one day look back and laugh about all these. Or witness a noob make these very same mistakes you made and you'll see things from the other side, and perhaps, deliver your sage advice better than those rudeboys you have galantly mentioned. As the wise @tclunatic said: In the meantime, let's chuck back a few coldies and have a laugh about all this malakary. Perhaps be good to also grow thicker hide, like Oakshell, so kind or evil words said in jest or otherwise might just bounce off us like inconsequential little darts of null import.     I have set up a small horse market on one of my deeds together with Aarbi. Location is Sandland H10 on Xanadu ig map, next to the north end of the bridges in the bay. The merchant, who sell keys, is in one of the houses next to pens. There is a boat parking both by the pens and east off deed. For now we have a variety of horses for a vareity of prices but I hope to sell only top quality in the future.     If you're still close to the starter town Haven's Landing there's a bartender who will feed you for your first 24 hours playtime. Also there are fields where you can harvest cotton and foods for your needs.

    Christopher, I know everyone is trying to soothe your feelings but I think I'm going to fall into the "mean group" here: At multiple rifts (indy) you've rushed in and pulled massive mobs. You've gone in and tried to solo gangs at a time. Everyone kept telling you to lay off, work as a team, and yet you didn't heed their warnings. I do not know where this rift was, as I didn't participate in any this round, but if people weren't listening to you, it could be because you didn't listen to anyone for many, many rifts. You showed yourself not to be a team player a long time ago. You can't expect people to just run to your help now...

    I want to emphasize another aspect: An estimated two third up to eighty percent of the players are non native English speakers/writers. This works badly on both sides, senders and receivers, and misunderstandings or misinterpretations occur easily, and escalate even more easily, in the tense situation of a battle in particular. What may have been meant just as an advice to improve the gear may have been understood as patronizing and insulting. Personally, I know about the drawbacks of my equipment, I use it though and take in account higher risk as well as lower damage dealt. As I have not witnessed the situation of that day, it is well possible that from the other people's perspective it looks different. Now I see that Zien wants to quit because the "naming and shaming" which is always a damn stupid thing hurt him and spoiled his fun with Wurm. That is a pity as I met and learnt Zien as a decent player and I would ask him too to swallow the frustration and go on playing. Please all of you be a bit more careful with your wording.

    Ever seen the historic gypsy wagons. Even have wood burning stoves in them basicly would be a horse drawn camper. They had all kinds of wagons for different purposes back in a day. From kitchens to Blacksmiths. A miners wagon. Maybe a portable forge maybe a ini forge say 1/2 the current capacity. Maybe a flat bed wagon that has no canopy blocking view. Maybe a chariots or a 2 wheel buggy. BUt a veriety of horse drawn items. Also maybe a small Knarr more maneuverable and faster when rowed but will 1/ to 1/2 capacity. A class of boats between the small sail boat and rowboat and the large merchant ships.

    yeah no idea if the person who created it is coming back or not, I just posted my version which works on 1.9 and yes it has changes that I made just for my own way of thinking. I take no credit for mod and all the usual stuffs, just posted it so people had something to use since 1.9 broke the mod.

    There's been a lot going on recently, and I'd like to give a bit of background on where we stand, what's been going on, and what the near future looks like. However, first, the patch notes of today: New Mod: Fishy Tweaks (by Bdew) Added on screen notification when a fish bites (when rod fishing) or spawns (spear fishing) Caught fish can be automatically stored When fishing from the ground this will try to store the fish in any keep net that the player has open When fishing from a boat it will try to store in attached keep net, or crates/FSBs for larger ships or ship hold When fishing with a net and none of the above apply the fish will be moved from the net to player inventory Added passive skill gain ticks during fishing actions Spear fishing no longer misses if you click too far from the fish. Instead - if you click close you will get a bonus to your skill check Nimbleness cast on spears makes fish with them easier Wind of Ages and Blessing of the Dark casts on rods/spears/nets and their QL make fishing with them faster Timers for various stages of the fishing and lore actions can be changed Lore action will display a detailed report on all that you can currently catch after 40 skill After 60 skill you will be able to look up detailed report on each fish, see what it likes and how it affects your chances Enchant Decay Once per day, there will be an enchant decay tick for items with casts over 250. This excludes Bloodthirst. If there are casts over 250 (that are not Bloodthirst) on the item, the system will remove 3% of the difference between the current power and 250. For example, a 400 cast would have 4.5 power removed. Arrows have a special exception which causes them to decay down towards 150 instead. This system is temporary and intended to be removed after some amount of time (likely a few months). Miscellaneous Changes Updated Bulk Sorted mod (thanks Bdew) Crate sorting has been disabled. This was originally an unintended side effect of bulk separated which I wanted to fix, but never got around to. With this update, there is a configurable option for it and crates will no longer be able to be sorted. Existing crates with sorted contents will retain their sorted items, but items added to them will probably not sort correctly. Bulk objects with a plural name will now always use their singular name. For example, it will always be "lump" instead of "lumps" - this prevents an issue where the sorting would create two separate groups if there was only one of a certain quality and multiple of another. Faster transfer has been enabled, which makes bulk-to-bulk transfers faster. Moving objects out of a bulk container is no longer limited by player strength. Hopefully fixed a bug where crates would sometimes randomly change to unsorted after a server restart. Cross Faith Linking has been repaired, and priests can now link with any player regardless of faith. Added the item Statuette of Reevi. Reevi priests will continue using the Fo statuette until the next update to give players who have converted a chance to make their new statuette before the change occurs. Armour Limit Factor functionality has been repaired. Armour Limits for all armour should now reflect pre-1.8 values. Added Bloodthirst infection wound functionality to DUSKombat. Priests with over 70 faith in a non-deity will get bonuses in combat similar to those from the priest rework. Bug Fixes Fixed an issue where high-power enchant casts would sometimes reduce the resulting cast. Additionally, channeling has now been added to the calculations, and improvements to casts will be more impactful with higher channeling. Arrow Packs are now tagged as weapons and should properly accept weapon enchants again. Fixed a bug where Replenish could not be cast on certain containers. Fixed an issue where planted objects could not be moved or stolen on Arena. Fixed a bug where Expand could not be cast on magic containers. (Thanks Bdew) Communication to the Players I've been doing a poor job communicating to the playerbase of the server recently. I'm sorry for that and I'll aim to do better in the future, starting now with everything stated here. I try to respond to personal messages as much as I can, but sometimes there's more than I can manage to respond to. If I ever failed to respond to a message, please don't take it as a personal insult or me ignoring you. I get many messages and sometimes get distracted and forget to respond to some. Enchant Decay A couple months ago it came to my attention that an exploit has been created through a series of my mods that allowed players to obtain unreasonable enchant power on their items. Due to some miscommuncation, this was abused to a significant degree and created super items that were far beyond the intended scope of the mechanics. I've addressed this in a previous post, and patched the exploit quickly to prevent further abuse. However, I failed to implement a system to remedy the problem quickly. At the time, I expected 1.9 to come out within a few weeks, and was awaiting the priest rework to avoid having to write the system twice (once before, and then a fix/repair after the priest rework came out). In hindsight, this was a poor decision. The 1.9 update did not come out as quickly as I anticipated and we were left with players using these exploited tools for several months. I should have responded far more quickly and implemented the enchant decay, despite having it break or require a rewrite with the 1.9 update. Next Steps The next additions to the server will include a hunting map, custom improvements and additions to the journal (such as titan slaying objectives & rewards), adjustments to large-scale combats (legendary creatures, titans, etc), and the Gem Augmentation skill (which I've been waiting to complete for nearly a year). I've been eagerly awaiting the ability to move away from bug fixes and adjustments towards creating new content for the game. However: The next few weeks of my time will be largely devoted to a few other game-related objectives outside of Revenant. Wyvern Reborn As many of you know, Wyvern Reborn has been largely neglected in favor of Revenant's development. So much so, in fact, that it still runs on Wurm Unlimited 1.7. This was not a problem until the 1.9 patch, when downgraded clients could no longer connect to the server. While I'm unwilling to update the mods and revive Wyvern Reborn, I feel it would be neglectful to wipe it away and remove it forever. In that vein, I'll be doing an identical process to the previous owners of Wyvern. As the next task, I'll be working on taking Wyvern Reborn offline and publishing the server files to the public for others to potentially update & rehost the server. This will take some time, as I don't want to release information that should not be released in the databases, such as twitter authentication keys, passwords, and chat logs. I also need to organize and release the source code for all the mods that were active at that time, since they have undergone significant changes. Configurable WyvernMods Due to the generous contributions of patrons on my Patreon, we've reached the stretch goal of making the WyvernMods collection configurable. This is already partially in progress with some of the changes made today, but it will take more time before I'd feel comfortable releasing it as a mod for any server to use. Players on Revenant might not be seeing the benefit of doing this, but there are actually significant improvements that will come along with making the mod configurable. Staff members would be able to assist me with updates to the server. Custom titles could be created for events with a single configuration line. Adjustments to creatures and balance could be made through configurations instead of having to be coded. Development speed would accelerate as the configuration becomes more robust. For example, making item recipes configurable will allow faster implementation of new items. I expect to have a prototype or working version of the configurable WyvernMods within the next week or two. Conclusion While we're in a bit of a transition period from 1.9 still, progress is being made at a steady pace. I'll do better to keep everyone updated as time goes on.

    Yeah the food fill mechanics weigh far too much on the QL of the item instead of the actual quantity eaten. Here's the % of food fill for a given QL of food (blue line). This is identical whether it's a meal, raw meat, whatever.

    Hey, folks. Just a small tip here for new players who still do a lot of hunting for food early in the game. It's a little annoying having to chase the more docile critters around, like cows and sheep and chickens that tend to run away when we try to attack them. It's a lot quicker and easier if we select the critter from a few tiles away, then click the "Attack" button in the toolbar, and then approach the critter up close. Doing it this way we get our first strike on them before they have a chance to run away. Faster and easier kills. Just a minor tip.

    from what ive seen in the comments, its not the new system thats flawed but the presentation of it to the player. especially the new player. new players dont read the wiki nor read the forums as a habit, but wurm is very different from other games in that way that you can learn a lot from both that you cant really learn ingame. I didnt log in to the forums for my first 6 months of playing if i recall right, and i remember the difference it made. but for new players its critical to help them in-game for retention sakes. noobie logs in, sees fishing skill, decides to make rod and go fishing, 3 hours later hasnt found half the materials, logs out, never logs in again. suggestion. in description and recipe add a 2 word description that leads them in the right path. fishing net: Level, beginner spear fishing: Level, beginner, intermediate rod fishing: Level, advanced and when they try the tool give very detailed reason in event tab why its not optimal. ie. net need to be used in shallow waters. do i like the new system? no i dont. too over complicated for catching creatures with brains the size of a pea. I went fishing once and ran out of bait, i was chewing gum and put the gum on the hook. Got a bite so hard that the fish broke the line and was probably the fish with the best smelling breath in the seven seas.

    @christopher I can't do much to change what happened to you, but I can help mend a bit of what was broken. I will gift you two horses along with cages to transport them if you got the means to come get them. Send me a PM and I will have two 5 speed horses (a breeding pair if I have it, need to check if I got a breeding pair) you can come get. I know is not much, but I hope it helps.

    and exactly thats what makes food mechanics bad, If I eat that ql 60 meat raw its doing good stuff If I cook it it's suddenly bad. But I need to cook stuff to ever increase in skill. And fileting the meat doesn't realyl ruin it given that cooking makes low ql anyways.

    Time for another Random Enkounter! This time the Randomizer landed me near Thiagoxbo on Deliverance. He noticed me right away and would have to endure 4 random challenges. #1 What is the name of the new Start/Tutorial deed for new Wurm Online players? With a two minute time limit, he failed to get it correct! #2 Bring to me a small barrel within 2 minutes! Maybe a bit too easy.... #3 Name any one of the deities of Wurm Online! Thiagox got it correct nearly instantly with Vynora. #4 The Gnomelord Geppetolemew seeks revenge for your trespasses across their grand fields of Gnome Berry trees. He has sent his fourth great grand nephew on his mother's dog groomer's sister's side of the family. He has been conniving and scheming for months as he raised up a gnomish army to vanquish you! Who will win? The innocent but thieving Gnomes whom you have trespassed against? Or Thiagoxbo, the brute who keeps stepping on their grand orchards, depriving them of much needed alcoholic bliss! Thiagoxbo must face 3 waves of the army that the great grand nephew of the Grand Gnomelord Geppeolemew has raised to fight him! Wave 1 - The Gnomoos attack! The 10 Gnomoos were valiant if ill equipped with their brown and white war paint and short sharp horns of goring. Thiagoxbo quickly ended their milk making days as their pasturized war cries carried through the fields. Wave 2 - The Gnophers of gnawing! 15 Gnophers began their assault on Thiagoxbo's legs in a commanding attempt to gnaw him down to size. Thiagoxbo's clothing was not much help against the razor sharp teeth of the Gnophers, but his supply of bandages held out! Wave 3 - Archgnomortys! 3 Arachgnomified Morty's have arrived on the field of battle. Can Thiagoxbo send them back to whence they came? probably not... but killing them should be much more entertaining! Each eight legged Morty dealt plenty of good strikes on Thiagoxbo, but he had a good head on his shoulders and knew when to retreat to heal, and when to draw the Mortys out to the end of his sword. With Arachnomorty blood spilled all over the place Thiagoxbo held out and won the day. With the army defeated, Elmer the great grand nephew of the Gnomelord Geppetolemew's dog groomer's sister, came out to battle to the death. Unfortunately, a loin cloth is not sufficient armor against a long sword. A short , simple death awaited Elmer. Now the Gnomes of the Deliverance isle will have to do without their much needed nose warming brandies. Thiagoxbo received for his efforts, Cake and Pizza! A rare cheese drill that the Gnomoos brought with them A supreme fishing net! 3 jars of honey, maple syrup, and vodka. Very useful for cooking Arachgnomorty legs. A pair of steel boots, because he really needed some ankle support! A mountain lion rug to cover up those blood stains on the floor. And most importantly 16 mallet heads! Yes, you heard me 16 mallet heads! Always know where your precious mallet heads are! Now for the bad news.... There was a strange dimensional portal gun laying on the field of battle after the three Mortys were dismembered, but since Thiagoxbo failed the first challenge, I chucked it into the void. At least he will never have to get hooked on inter-dimensional cable TV.

    Yeah dunno, I disliked the fishing update the moment it kicked in, because I wondered "Why would you take a simple skill and make it overly convoluted and complicated with 0 intuitive aspects about it and force it on us? The rewards for this new convoluted system aren't great. They are the same. FISH. Damn fish. Maybe...maybe the occasional pearl. The skillgain isn't better. It's slower." Why would you make a skill that was pretty slow to grind anyway even slower now? It's boring. It's not for newbies. It's barely even for veterans. What's the payoff for fishing now? In my mind, good game design relevant to wurm implies effort = reward. Well I put a lot of effort in imping and creating everything for fishing only to be sorely disappointed. The skillgain isn't better at all. Fishing nets decay like crazy. My old fishing rod didn't stay rare when I upgraded it. It simply feels like a bad system forced simply because Tich passed away and CC wanted to honour her. While I admire and respect the sentiment, I don't understand how implementing such a big update to one of the most "relaxed" skills in the game actually is a better experience for everyone. Every player I asked so far told me they will never pick up fishing again, not even for priests except for the fishing goals or queuing up fishing actions using nets only because that seems closer to the old system. Dunno, seems simply like one of the most unwise skill decisions ever, made even sadder by the fact the devs will never revert to the old system which was fine. Simply put, the update that was made to make a skill "look cool" now , turned out to be an update that made players totally discouraged to even attempt to skill fishing anymore. It's ironic.

    exactly that. For example, so many steps to make the various lines, using different tools. Why only 1 type of hook in the hooks section of the tackle box? Is this intended or a bug? How does one get bark of an overaged birch tree? using which tool? which skill ? same question with the rest of the bait items... etc.

    It has finally come time for me to open up my big project for public use. Wooden mine doors are still in place but have been set for Freedom Kingdom to be able to pass. This is actually 2 canals. First one goes from Hammer lake to west, into the Little lake. From there second canal goes all the way to the ocean. First one is roughly 420 tiles long going from 1721, -4834 to 1296, -4833 on community map. Second one is roughly 720 tiles long from 1033, -4738 to 311, -4736. Below is picture of the locations. Both canals are passable by any boat. Driving carts or wagons is not possible, but given locations, there would not be much, if any, need for such. For easy passage it is advisable to stay close to north wall of both canals. Canals are 3 tile wide (with only 1 tile wide entrances), but only north lane is completely cleared of veins and lowered for any ship. In the future I will take out veins in middle lane as well and possibly southern too, but that is not a high priority (all walls are reinforced, and since you can pass through with any ship it is time for me to take care of some other projects). Also anyone is welcome to hack out the remaining veins whenever they wish. For people going through on caravel, the shorter eastern canal unfortunately has your head peeking through the ceiling most all of the way, but the longer western canal is better height (somehow the ceiling does come lower in 2 locations, where you will have you head through it for short moment). Some history: Some pictures: I hope these canals will be good help for lot of players and maybe open up the shores of Hammer lake and the Little lake for some more viable deeds. - Nestangol

Black and red dye + papyrus for cards... 52 pieces of papyrus, about 1l of each ink (yes, YUGE deck... just to keep some difficulty alive). 16 Pawns, 4 Rooks, 4 Knights, 4 Bishops, 2 Queens, 2 Kings, 1l black dye, 1l white dye, 4 planks, 1 small nails: Chess Board. Replace those chess pieces for 32 wood tokens to make a checkers one. Similar for a backgammon... "#!%!%!%load of wood scraps + press to make dartboard face, combine with a few planks, green and red dye, a few nails and feathers to make the darts, treat with same mechanics as archery practice. 55 troll teeth for 9-9 dominos.
