I've coded a simple vote reward mod. I've seen a few servers with this, and some posts on here asking for such a mod with some claiming to have paid for it, so I figured I'd just write it and make it public. Configurable Options: APIKEY= Your Wurm-Unlimited.com server API key. This can be found here: rewardamt= The amount of coins you want players to receive when they vote rewardmsg= The message you want to display when they successfully claim their vote claimedmsg= The message you want to display when they haven't voted, or have already claimed their vote. Checking or claiming the vote can be done in-game with the command /vote Release: https://github.com/revelation343/VoteReward/releases/latest Open to any suggestions for the mod. Wurm-Unlimited.com allows voting each day, so be careful with those reward amounts.

Wurm used to have Voip for people in local. It was directional and faded in volume as your distance increased. If memory serves me, Rolf wanted it to be a paid service which, obviously, never flew. It would be nice to get this feature reactivated as I felt it added quite a bit of immersion to the game.

As in title. Currently we get hidden mission objects from investigating and digging (regular or to a pile). Would be nice to add mining to the pool (regular and surface mining).

Ok.. So I wanted to start with how I wanted it to end, by adding some Roleplay features. I know Roleplay is a bit a joke to some or a scary prospect a loved one brings up in the bedroom but I think it depends on the manner in which its undertaken. RP'ers range from extremely serious method actors embodying their characters all the way to those that want to momentarily escape their bubbles and have a giggle expressing themselves. Personally I've never been heavy into RP but have had some mild experience with it and have had a lots of enjoyable encounters being creatively silly. Recently I commented in a thread on Wurms forums which discussed ways to revive Wurms population and I said the only way would be to remake it from scratch and I still retain that to be true. However, I also commented on how games today are largely successful based on their ability to draw a crowd of viewers via streamers playing it. In it's current state Wurm is fairly boring to watch, we have some talented streamers whom make it enjoyable to watch with their content and personalities but for the most part it's pretty bad for streaming. This is where role play comes into effect, gaming role play servers are more common than you'd think and some have huge success and even more so now with platforms such as Twitch making role play characters into mini celebrities. I've never been a stream watcher as I'd rather play a game than watch someone else play it but lately I've been watching role players play GTA 5 on a particular server known as 'NoPixel'. I have laughed, proper belly laughs, more in the last week or so than I have in the last 15 years combined all because of the creativity of a small group of streamers who between the top 10 on NoPixel bring in easily 50,000 viewers consistently. This is possible one because of the role players and two, most importantly in my opinion because of the tools provided to the role players to make use of. Things like VoIP, animations covering an array of emotions and situations which would compliment scenes, tools and places withing the world which can become part of the story and last but not least RNG, you need that little touch of randomness to keep it form becoming predictable and I don't just mean plots I mean outside influences that will force a player to adapt but ultimately still allow them to achieve their goals. I know Wurm won't rival NoPixel in terms of viewers simply because the already established streamers which play there most likely wouldn't play Wurm but some would if Wurm was more role play accessible. You can argue players can already RP in Wurm which they can but it's not good to watch. Wurms engine doesn't have physics like GTA does where something as simple as falling over can trigger very funny and enjoyable content but what Wurm does have is huge potential for role play all we need to is add the tools. VoIP Animations With just these two things players could begin to construct their stories and create content that would attract a small following on Twitch and other streaming platforms which will inevitably swell our ranks with new players. Animations includes things like /sit to sit on the floor in place or /fallover to make your character fall over in response to something, I'm not going to list them all but you get the idea. Also it's loads cheaper than advertising.

Hello, I'm Gofs, I finished and sold total 4 deeds 3 at Xana, and 1 at Pri, (one more coming soon) I think Wurm is beautiful, very impressive by possibilities game, where possible to create very nice deed's. For example build deeds not just for skill up, but with some general idea, like Pirates deed (at some island), or Monastyr deed (somewhere at mountains) I gonna put some examples of my works here :

@Lisabetfor every reason in the book. I could settle with an alt, like Ester or Delara also I'd also like to have @Odynnglued to one of my deeds.

My whole alliance is pretty amazing. Specifically, I pick: Yuri (he keeps all tools, weapons and armors tip top, and levels or builds bridges over all my digging and mining mishaps without saying "I told you so".) Audrel (my awesome friend, always makes me laugh.) Robbycrusoe (just wow for deed and building design, his paints and bling, mushroom houses, rainbow pepperment unicorns, chocolate icecreams and pizzas, and keeping my champion pets fed.) I would add Warlock except I already have access to all his stuffs so I guess we are sharing a deed already

Some bridge - Yaga Greetings Wurmians! That's right, I'm back with another edition of the valrei international. We've been rather busy this week with the launch of wurm unlimited 1.9 to catch it up to wurm online, but there's still plenty to talk about, so let's get to it Wu live This week saw the launch of 1.9.1.5 (and quickly 1.9.1.6, pesky bugs) and it's been huge. There's already been a few mods for the new content and seeing the servers buzzing with activity is awesome. I was playing on a server on Monday, and playing again today after the update made me realise just how big our visuals have come in the past six months, so a huge personal shout out to both Samool and Saroman, their continued work to see wurm look and feel better than ever has really impacted the game, and it's awesome to see. Far far away Speaking of visual improvements, samool has been doing some amazing things with distant rendering. Gone will be the days of bland green land, and instead, we will have this! Does anyone else like beavers? Cos dam! (seriously, who doesn't like beavers, otters or ferrets, they're the adorablest!) Coming soon One thing I have been working towards and talked about in many places is the start of our very own wurm dev streams! From general discussion, answering questions and playing the game, to specific streams about upcoming features I'm excited to say we're getting near the point we can start with this and see where it goes. If you have ideas for things you'd like to see, whether from how we play to segments we handle let us know below and we'll see about whether we can include it. We have no firm date to the start of this yet, but our goal is to start in the next month or two with weekend streams That’s it from us this week, we’re doing some behind the scenes changes to how we handle things approaching the switch to AWS, once we are closer to those changes we’ll lay out our plans for future works . There’s a lot going into it and some pretty awesome things, so stay tuned for that! Until then though, Keep on Wurming! Retrograde & the wurm team

I often scout the Rift locations and post info, but I missed posting this one. If nobody has objections, I'll happily be the fill in Rift-hound while Finndar is on break. I just didn't want to hog it... but it doesn't look like many folks are bothered

@Sharkin and all participants: Congratulations for the victory, and thanks for the picture. I had such a fight with very small numbers before, and it is exciting and a lot of fun. I would have liked to participate indeed. But for those unfamiliar with participation from other servers' non coastal locations: It takes, depending on the wind situation, between 40 minutes in optimal winds (one direction only) and 1.5+hrs in adverse winds (that is not a gale in your face, but a light breeze crippling your speed in all directions) only to reach a coast on another server. Then it takes time to get close to the rift (optimally near a coast) to get ready for a fight of 1.5 to 3+ hours). Even if postponing the way home it means you need to plan for 5+ hours of concentrated wurming. Knowing exactly where to go is a great help. It may even make possible to sail over the day before and taking a quarter or just log off until before rift start. Therefore, rift information in advance is a great help to raise numbers of participants which may become more crucial in the upcoming summer (central europe etc.) season.

The PvP cluster is redundant as mentioned above and the majority of players gave up on it then defaulted back to the original cluster the moment they got the chance. The proof of that is in the time right after Freedom players were allowed to join Epic, some big fights ensued but it ultimately didn't work and despite the heavy skill reductions people left Epic because it had died, it wasn't dying, it was long dead, so dead not even Libila her self couldn't rebirth that corpse. The idea of Epic being anything other than a corpse is fanciful, making Epic uncapped F2P will make it a jest and it'll maybe get some activity for a month or two until the novelty wears off, a bit like Challenge did but it'd probably live long enough for those still holding items they need to offload. Anyone still bleating about how the time they've invested in building or pixels and whatever else will be lost needs to read about the stages of grief and remember you all agreed to play with the understanding of full loot, property destruction and/or loss of anything and everything within that cluster the day you created your characters. You were given the chance to move your characters, if you didn't take it at that time and have spent more time beating a dead horse well, that's on you. There was never going to be a solution for housing two clusters on what is a very niche player base in decline, hence the merge. I remember when Rolf sought some feedback from us few that played on old Affliction before it was reset, stating that the server wasn't covering costs and something needed to be done to help it recover. He reset it and made it bigger. Thousands of hours worth of stuff was lost yet the changes didn't save Affliction, the resilient rebuilt and the weak willed resigned and some just exploded into clouds of red mist. However, Wurm kept turning with the memory of old Affliction growing smaller as each moment passed until old Affliction became Affliction, people stopped making the distinction and the same will happen with the Epic cluster and Freedom, once we collectively let go of deluded notions. We can make Chaos use the a version of the F2P model if it's believed that's going to help and/or apply any other ideas to Chaos to fuel the PvP scene but the reality is, Epic is dead and the majority of those still advocating for it to be anything other than unplugged are probably motivated by means other than sentiment. I support the idea of taking steps towards increasing the population by means that don't have anything to do with a separate cluster and instead focuses efforts on a consolidated player base not a divided one. I like the Epic curve, it worked great and I think there are ways to make F2P work all round in ways it can be fun for casuals to bolster numbers and as fodder the die hard warriors will grind into paste. Allowing F2P up to 70 fighting and cap their characteristics at 30, applying the curve to Chaos but cap F2P at '70 effective' and no meditation path or other premium benefits such as priests. This speeds up the overall time required to get competitive for both whilst not giving F2P too much ability (that will be abused) and still giving new players a much more insightful experience. However, every 6 months (idk) they should be subjected to a 50% reduction in all skills and characteristics. The reason for this, if they are still playing after such a long time it's safe to assume they are enjoying the game and should contribute to it's upkeep or they can either keep regrinding every X months. Other wise they choose to become a premium player and play like everyone else does paying each month, it also has the added benefit of making life difficult for those whom will inevitably try to maintain multiple alts for nefarious activities.

Something I always felt was missing from rifts was a climactic battle at the end; usually the initial part of wave 3 is tough, but then it gets really easy by the end. Also, on larger servers getting home is a real bugger at 4am in the morning after a rift. Thus, I propose that at the end of each rift, if certain conditions are met (high number of premium players in local with contributions over a certain level), one final wave spawns after participation awards are given; the rift dragon. The rift dragon being much stronger than a regular dragon, with a large rift wide AoE attack, and with an unusual tweak; the dragon's attacks deal extra damage to anyone wearing dragon/drake/moonmetal armour. It will always head back to the rift area and, if not killed within an hour, it despawns and the rift ends as per normal When killed, anyone who passes a reasonable (10+?) participation score on the initial rift, or lands a blow on the rift dragon, earns a random piece of loot: Rift Dragon Bone Fragments - Can be crafted into a rune that can be applied to any item (essentially a multi-material rune) Rift Dragon Scales - Can be used on an item to give them an extra rune slot (100% success rate) Rift Dragon Blood - Acts like a single use of silvery fluid (prevents 1 shatter on an item), or can be consumed to teleport a player home Rift Dragon Heart - Grants one free use of teleport corpse (karma skill) No corpse is left behind, instead a temporary (1 hr duration) portal opens that takes an player that uses it back to their home deed token on that server, along with their ridden mount (passengers get taken to the pilot's home deed).

I usually don't post in the forums very much and would like to let you know that I have been playing Wurm online for over 10 years and love what this game has become and thank all the devs throughout the years for their hard work. There are some things this game needs to have due to some of the wonderful updates that have come out in the years. I would like to see waterfalls and rivers to make deeds even more beautiful :-). Rivers higher than just sea level. You could have watermills along those rivers making flour. You could also make certain fish available in those rivers. It could allow canals to irrigate rice above sea level for those people without coastal deeds. No need to allow boats on those rivers, keep those at sea level. As for the lava pools and lava falls, I would love to have an underground dwarven paradise, but i can't because i can't make lava pools and lava falls. What kind of dwarven paradise doesn't have lava :-). All this wonderful stuff you are allowed to do underground now needs those lava pools and lava falls more than ever. As for the underground mushroom farming we need a better way to be able to get mushrooms.

So, I had an idea the other day, and several others in chat also agreed with it. Placing an amount of water in a copper still causes it to boil off, would yield a small amount of sea salt after a significant period of time. This new salt would be used as a replacement for salt mined in recipes. The salt could also come out at equal QL to the still, in order to encourage people to improve them. What are your thoughts?
