The inconspicuous leader of goblin folk has been found and buried alive in the tundras of Xanadu. One of the members of the ever increasing team of public slay enthusiasts located the leader and we all had a good ol shindig penning. Great job Bipolarbear in locating the rascal.

People can make a name and shame thread on the forums atm they usually end up in the town square, But what I will say is name and shame threads are usually a bad idea certainly over little things where it's possible both parties are to blame. Sometimes it's better to be the bigger person to just accept these things happen and learn from it. But if you want to go down the route of name and shame threads the option is there, but the words below probably say enough. We will not protect you from your own actions. If you cross someone and they have something negative to say about you, then you earned it on your own merit. It is in your hands to protect, preserve, improve, defend, or destroy your reputation.

Sunder with a good skill priest does 20 damage. Mend when casted on a 20 damage item repair exactly 2 points of quality. Sunder does exactly what it is supposed to do, and so does mend - the main "problem" is that you need a higher skilled priest to get those 20 dmg sunder casts (I know, big problem, actually needing to get a skill up instead of just relying on an easy "click and go" mechanic). But mend is so very linear, there is no randomness involved or calculations. All casts work precisely as they should, as opposed to before, where a utility spell was used against it's exact purpose - that utility spell is now used for it's intended purpose and the spell designed to damage object is useful. I wouldn't call that dumb.

It's unfortunate that the consequence to this change is that it'll be harder to lower tools in quality, but I can't even pretend like I'm not excited about being able to mend down my pelts and whetstones before they reach 20 damage!

The games community is already up in arms often enough about things either not convenient or just out of control of higher ups/other players. Let's not add fuel to the fire, for a week even, please? Trade problems happen, ###### happens. If it's a legit scam, then okay, you might have a case to pop up somewhere and say "hey, X thing happened, be careful around this person, here's what you can do to prevent this happening to you" Or, you could do the mature thing. Try and actually talk it out with the party in question. Sure, chances are they'll disagree, maybe even strongly, but at least at that point you can say you did the smart, responsible thing. I honestly feel more and more like the "name and shame" threads are just pure toxicity, made usually in the heat of a moment, or over a build up of shitty experiences. When was the last time one actually served any good purpose?

^ The first of these two quoted sections is a ridiculous and quite frankly manipulative way of going into making a suggestion with. The second section is implying that people are elitist for not agreeing with their own opinion (and this isn't a wild accusation or paranoia on my part, it's a recurrent theme in the suggestions made and supported by this person). As far as the actual suggestion goes: -1 This suggestion isn't something that removes tedium or brings Quality of Life: It's a suggestion that allows for the action queue to play the game for you. I know that the argument for stacking of other actions might pop up, but that's just over-simplifying the game to suit the argument. There is a major difference between queuing up smithing actions and queuing up walking, since the prospecting skill consists of part walking and part prospecting. By removing the walking as something the person would actively participate in you'd effectively remove part of the skill, and for a proper comparison to for example blacksmithing it'd be: Stack 3 actions on the same tool, but stack a 'choose' action in between the three actions to avoid having to change tools yourself. So you stack 3 actions with a whetstone but even if the second and third improvement action requires lump and hammer you just keep going, because the 'choose' actions do the work for you. Imply whatever you want about "vocal oldtimers", I for one am not so intimidated by your opinions that I'll support suggestions that take something away from the game. I'm neither against removing tedium (I was for example one of the people requesting being able to transfer from bulk-to-bulk and to be able to bin hot lumps), nor am I against QoL changes (I hope that one day the garbage QL lumps that are still spawned from some item creations will be removed, since they create the need for extra clicks and a risk of accidental combining). This suggestion isn't about either of those factors though, this is about removing some of the effort involved in a skill that you have chosen to grind.

Many of the traits that are passed on through breeding seem to revolve around horses. I have a few suggestions for traits for not horses. Wooly - Sheep: chance at producing +1 wool when sheared Silky - Sheep: produces higher quality wool when sheared Productive - Sheep, Cows, Bison: ready to be milked again sooner Fertile - Cows, Sheep: Chance to produce twins Strong body - Cows, Sheep, Bison, Pigs: Produces +1 meat when butchered Negative traits (Can be removed with Genesis): Unproductive - Sheep, Cows, Bison: Take longer to be ready for milking again Bristly - Sheep: produces lower quality wool when sheared Bald Patches - Sheep: Takes twice as long between shearing Barren - Sheep, Cows, Bison: Doesn't produce milk

Tich's Gone Fishin' Memorial (Release L-25) An introduction by friends of Tich. Logging into Wurm, looking at our friend's list to see the first name not online to be Tich pressed those close to her to create a memorial, not only for others to see, but also to leave their own memories about this wonderful person for the rest of Wurm to enjoy. This project began in early November of 2018 and served as a cathartic focus for hearts and minds that were still struggling with Tich's passing. Though the work took only about 2 weeks to complete, with a subsequent few weeks of fine tuning to follow, by far the most difficult task was/is to write on opening introduction to the people of Wurm for the memorial. It is our hope that those touched by Tich or her works in-game will make the journey to Release, at L25, and bring with you a bit of something that ties you to Tich and her works, to be left in perpetuity as your own addition to the memorial. (Feel free to contact Daciana or Pomona by forum pm for help in placing or securing your personal additions, or adding personal anecdotes or stories to the Tich's Gone Fishin' Memorial) What began as players seeking comfort in remembering a friend, transitioned into co-workers yearning for an opportunity to show what she meant to them, and what we all hope will evolve into a community reaching out together to put the wealth of impact Tich made upon us all on exhibition. While here, please take the time to explore every aspect of the memorial. You will find a multitude of surprises made available through substantial background help from the Wurm Online Team all of which were especially close to Tich. Thank you and we hope you enjoy the memorial.

Hey all, It was just out of curiosity when I questioned in CA Help whether there was a name and shame page in the forums to warn players/characters both old and new of traders/players that may lead them astray or scam them in any many. This could be a failed currency exchange, an unpaid job or another duplicitous action. It would be a landing page to place a set of names for individuals victim to such deceptions to protect and hopefully prevent future disappointments. It's just an idea, but I'll like to know what you all think. Thanks, TheSmithy

Town square is fine, sometimes its important to name/shame good example is Niru. I agree with shaky though most of the name/shames end bad for both parties involved. I could easily name/shame 10 people right now but no one would care. I've learned that from previous experiences. ?

i'm more annoyed at how inefficiently you're grinding prospecting than the actual idea. you only need to move every 10-15 minutes. If you have to "earn it", what does that do for the average new player? oh, just get 40 mind logic so you can queue movements into your actions? if someone's grinded 21 points of mind logic to get to 40 (hundreds of hours of mind logic increasing skills worth!) chances are they don't give 2 ###### about being a "keyboard slave" or however you put it, they're probably enjoying it. you can already do such things with g-series mouse and equivalent (bind wzzzz, where z is prospect and w is move forward for example). locking away features in a game behind hundreds of hours of playing isn't going to entice new players to stay, and i have 0 idea how you could come to such a conclusion. troll thread made to garner reactions. how original.

I don't know the logistics of how they would make it work, but +1 to this. I like to build stables for my horses, which means manually feeding them by dropping grass, which just looks sloppy. I'd like to install neat little troughs in each stall for my horses, both for the purpose of, of course, keeping them fed, and also, y'know... aesthetics.

is there a mod for getting surface mining to one hit?
  32. 1 point
When grinding prospecting, you don't need to move after every prospect action. No one's action queue is so long that being able to queue movement would have any benefit here.

-1, account buying or selling shouldn't be possible at all. what mclovin suggested is pretty cool idea for skill gain boost if you feel like wurm is too slow paced. EXP scrolls or whatever to do the trick. Purchable only from traders with silvers or with real money from devs, but then again.. we already have sleep powders, affinities, affinity foods, CoC... or Skill cap increaser 100€ to get to 30 skill cap like you suggested before, whatever but not ready skilled accounts, if you want it easy, play epic, dont turn our isles to that........ crap.

I will elaborate my decision to -1 this just to make it more clear why.. I do not care how people decide to play the game, with a 1FS character or with a 99FS character. As long as they pay premium then that's a valid character that they are allowed to play. None of this bull** "alt" stuff is valid in my opinion since i know people that play 4-5 (or even more) characters at a time with not problem, some are priests, some are crafters, some are both.. there is no hierarchy for them.. it's just the "tool" they choose to use to do a certain task and that's it. I've been asking for a definition of an "alt" for a long time and nobody was able to provide one because it's relative to the situation a character is used in (eg: shared accounts are main accounts if you fight on them, but alts if you use them naked to bash a fence). I understand that most of you "old school" pvp'ers have completely lost the hope that new players will join the pvp servers, but I for one didn't, and I've seen it happen a lot of times. I would really like to see it happen way more of course, but I honestly think that one of the reasons why a lot don't join us is because of threads and discussions like this one where everyone gets heated and it leads to the same inevitable conclusion.. a locked thread that doesn't help the game in any way, all it does is strengthen the idea in the minds of the people that chaos really is a toxic community.. So with this in mind.. the fact that we want a 10FS player to be able to enjoy the game as much as a 70FS player, instead of trying to forbid one from playing the game fully (remember meditation) why not just make it harder for them to engage in offensive situations like the ones you described. About the issues you mentioned : - drain a deed : I would actually tie this one to a skill that has no use, thievery (20 let's say) - bash a tower : doesn't this already require 23BS? - bash wl/bl : same as tower bash - be mayor of a deed : what ? I really liked the idea of making the archery towers and strange devices work better against low skilled characters (add minimum FS here).. it would solve your concern but it would also not take away from any defensive actions for a starting player that tries to protect his deed. This way a new player can enjoy the game and be part of pvp from day one (defensively) but, the same way you tell him to stay away from a troll or guard tower, you tell him to stay away from deeds with strange devices and archery towers..

I dont think its become a problem to be honest. I was just curious as to if there was an increase and to point out how ambiguous the questions were. We were very concerned about this when one of our villagers answered wrong because he really thought stool was the right answer. Imagine this: here you are doing an action with a high timer, such as leveling, or maybe your character has 7 actions and you are using a lq pick to mine. You alt tab every couple minutes while you watch Netflix. On your next alt tab, you see the question box. You know its been sitting there for a minute or two and you get flustered and see the stork and stool question. You answer stool. We now know you wont get banned for it. But that player may not at that time, and will start to wonder scared that everything they did may be lost. This causes undue stress. I dont mind this system. I think its good, as it is at least one layer of safety to prevent widespread macroing. But it needs to be fixed so this doesn't happen and undermines the system we have in place.

Because copyright laws demand as such. If someone owns the copyright and someone not the copyright owner submits it, if CCAB used it without the copyright holders permission, they would be liable in most countries. --- Obligatory haha get rekt TC as it is my duty. Now on to the serious stuff. I think this is pretty sad on so many levels. The TC design although not particularily my favorite wagon (Wagons were pretty terrible mind you) was a very sweet design. The tabards were exquisite and rather amazing, and the art overall well made and very identifying of The Crusaders. It was overall a very well thought design that spoke of the identity of a kingdom. Seeing it gone is very sad and a loss to the community as a whole. Regardless of who's at fault here and what was agreed upon, what promises were fulfilled or broken or what this drama consisted of, this is a prime example of what Chaos has become. This is a snowball that has been rolling downhill ever since the MR hacks/metagaming/whateveryoucallit hit Chaos. Since then kingdoms stopped being players and friends enjoying a videogame and became these bloodthristy animals that their goal is not only to win a game, but to devastate their opponent in whichever way they can. The whole pvp community on Chaos has devolved to this. People trying to get people banned, people trying to find to make the game unenjojable for others, or people trying to get opposing kingdom members kicked. Its a war of emotions and drama instead of a war of the battlefield with death tabs and disbanded deeds. Its atrocious. Its what we've brought upon ourselves. I am not going to point fingers at anyone because despite of what the groups themselves may think, they are both at fault on this, and its already spilling outside of Chaos, now affecting people who have nothing to do with it. Its despicabe that people who could otherwise be friends are doing these things to each other. Why? What's the point? To win? We need to stop doing these things to each other. Its just a game, homies. We're not children. Lets leave the hair pulling behind and go back to bashing each other's heads... in game.

This is twice you use this exact wording. This more sounds like the struggle you're going through right now. You don't want to continue to pay for a game you play. As far as the idea, no. Easy mode kills games. Next we'll get achievements for walking 4 feet just so everyone gets their participation trophy. No thank you. This game does not need to be dumbed down. It would detract from the work everyone has put in for over a decade of game play. If people do not want to pay monthly or have minimal starting skill levels, this is what WU is for and is done in WU easily.
  45. 1 point
I agree with Aeris on the appreciation of the game aspect, as well as that players who buy accounts (especially players newer to the game) have a different focus on game play. Obviously they don't want to earn their skills by playing the game but rather to use these advanced skills to achieve specific results. This is not really the game design at all which is a slow and tedious building of skills to a higher level but rather a way to bypass all this perhaps years of work through the purchase of developed skill accounts. If this were the intent of the game the Devs would simply boost up skill level gains to any speed that they desired, as can be seen on some of those WU servers. Even the deal you propose in your OP is a bad one for the game's income since currently to raise skills above 20.00 players must pay for Premium time. On that basis it makes no sense at all. Why should players pay for any Premium time up to 50.00 skill level then. You are already also including an instant advancement to 30.00 Characteristics and Skills in this deal too. Hitting 30.00 in Characteristics takes much longer than Skills in comparison, so it just shortcuts that advancement significantly as well, all at the loss of income that would otherwise need to be paid for Premium time to get there. Perhaps you should consider that it may not be a "mistake" that the game is designed so that players will slowly progress in it by building their Characteristic and Skill levels to then enable them to accomplish more within it. Try to think of it as being intended and that these account sales on the forums were *not* really part of the process but just an unfortunate consequence of a situation that would be significantly problematical to control. If this were the case, as it does seem to be, then the game would never participate directly in the sales of developed accounts since it goes contrary to the game design of slowly developing your own Character. This is where I think those who purchase other players Characters are missing the point of the game design because for whatever reasons they wish to avoid putting all this time/work into the game. For the game to directly participate in this *Character Purchase* aspect as you suggest would just show that they had abandoned their standards for some dollars and short changed their players who had developed their own Characters according to the game design. Tldr? Read it then! =Ayes=
