    I like to use a wagon but often do not off deed to the lack of being able to see aggros approaching or what is in the area around. Could we have an option to build a wagon without a cover or be able to remove the cover that is already on it ? Thank you for your consideration Savronne

    +1 to removing global cast requirements and a couple of suggestions: XX - Channeling skill XX - Number of casts > XX quantity XX - Number of casts > XX Power XX - Damage dealt to creatures or players (maybe give double bonus to pvp damage)

    When I first started playing Wurm and encountered my first iron key lying randomly on the ground, I thought it was something special: maybe there was a hidden meaning or secret. Now I know that keys/locks don't decay and stick around on a server forever, and I've made a habit of picking them up as I find them on Serenity. My question is this: how many locks/keys are there piled up on the ground across the islands? Would be especially curious about Serenity.

    Until I finally took up a religion not so long ago I had no way to get rid of all the keys that I had accumulated. It seems that it would benefit the game for trash bins to delete keys and locks too. Then these useless items would not tend to pile up in foreverville. =Ayes=

    I wouldn't call you that Gwyn but I give up on improvements when the failures outweigh the practical applications of the results. Skill levels I treat the same way and would never spend time attempting to hit 100.00 in any of them. 95.00 skill and tools are excellent for most tasks if not all. Even then for those who feel the siren's lure to go above 99.00 the rewards are pretty much all tied to an individuals motivations and perceptions rather than gameplay benefits. =Ayes=

    Call me perverse, but I think Wurm has already got this ever so right. The noble futility of chasing unattainable perfection, the law of diminishing returns, the choice between 'good enough' and 'could be better' — however you want to frame it, this is balanced in a way that elegantly models real-life creative processes, at least in my humble opinion and experience.

    Animal Husbandry is the most relevant to my primary distraction in this game; I'm pretty sure by this point I have solidified my spot in the crazy horse lady category. Fighting is enjoyable enough, and my FS, weapon skills have progressed at a nice clip. And I never knew that I had a penchant for construction, but some of my highest skills are carp and masonry. My digging is still highest of all, for now, although just barely (and without ever having need to grind it). Common activities such as terraforming and gathering clay for mortar seem to push this skill higher for many folks.

    Thread updated All Hota statues are now located on merchants with the price listed in the first page. EVERY HOTA STATUE HAS A DIFFERENT RGB VALUE SO EXAMINE BEFORE YOU PURCHASE. Only purchase what you can carry with you at one time due to deed permissions requiring a certain limit on pickup/load to prevent griefing. Prices are updated.     You realize that no penning means, even less public access to these slayings unless you play 6+hours a day every day.. you'll have probably 0% chance to get into one.. Just making them unpennable will only favor the groups that roam around and hunt them once there's a rumor about their spawn. meaning... if you change the mechanic.. rethink that also.. while you're changing things around.

    Hi folks. I have good news / bad news sort of news. TLDR: Bad news are that I will no longer put any work on WA, short of maybe critical fixes if they ever are needed. Good news are that I will probably write a couple entirely new tools for Wurm Online. They will cover some stuff WA already does and some things it does not. Longer story: Since some time now I'm running rather busy life. As anyone who worked in IT already knows, being a developer means pretty much doing double job. One job is the thing we get paid for right now. Second job is learning stuff we will be paid for in the future. This second job gets more difficult every year, as the tech keeps on advancing faster and faster. When I've made WA, it was a strong addition to my portfolio, but today it's a bit of an old dinosaur. It's quality is completely unrepresentative of my current skills and It's technology is outdated and neither something I currently work with nor something I want to be working with. I can't use current WA to advertise myself to potential clients I wish to work for. I need to spend my free time building software that is modern and I need to focus on smaller apps, so that they are finished and polished before technology makes another leap. There are a couple very popular features in WA that I think are worth re-coding as more modern apps - and there were couple ideas for new tools, that might be worth exploring. That is my current plan for next months. I can't promise they will be "better" when compared to the old megazord, but I will do my best to make them attractive alternatives. This has to come at a price and that price is to let WA itself retire. Hopefully devs won't be making too many breaking changes, so there is a good chance WA will keep on working for a good while.

    That one is really tricky to answer, I love most of the wurm skills and would even love to have some more new ones. But one that took my eye from start was metalurgy, I love to make my all tools from steel and in some way it's sadistically satisfieing how much preparation you need to do and how much other skills you need to grind in order to get huge amount of excellent ql steel by yourself.

    My perception of the GM team is very positive. In the rare times I have put in a Support for their help over the years they have impressed me as being very polite, as contrasted to the authority figures out in the RW. Once I had GM's called on me for changing the diagonal edge of a highway (old rules) and I disagreed with their decision but I changed it back and that was the end of it. No resentment held on my part. Mainly I see dissatisfaction and complaints about them from the pvp community because some harsher steps at times need to be taken to keep them under at least reasonable control; therefore, I put little confidence in any negative statements they make in response. I just end up instead feeling sorry for the GM's that have to deal with them. I am not saying *all* pvp players are bad either, so let's not go down that road. =Ayes=

    So I was working on finishing the highway through my deed and realized that my plan for having the highway run through my deed was conflicting with how I wanted my deed to look. It seems the game currently doesn't allow gates on a highway. Which makes sense so players can't lock up a highway for other players. I think gates should be allowed on deeded areas where highways run through as long as players are allowed to pass through them. This would help create a safe area for players to run into if needed, and can help achieve certain design aspects. Like having a Gate at the entrance to the castle.

    I have noticed we can dye saddles but the colour does not appear when worn by the animal, would be a nice feature if this could be implemented.

    in pvp if there are many people attacking you, you are meant to receive an Antigank Cr bonus. The bonus is 1 CR for every player above 1 that is attacking. In the wurm unlimited code this appears in Combathandler.java in the method getCombatRating. if (this.creature.isPlayer()) { int antiGankBonus = Math.max(0, this.creature.getAttackers() - 1); combatRating += antiGankBonus; this.creature.sendToLoggers("Adding " + antiGankBonus + " to combat rating due to attackers."); } Around the time of the recent priest overhaul or possibly just before that, it seems this bonus is no longer working.

    Something I always felt was missing from rifts was a climactic battle at the end; usually the initial part of wave 3 is tough, but then it gets really easy by the end. Also, on larger servers getting home is a real bugger at 4am in the morning after a rift. Thus, I propose that at the end of each rift, if certain conditions are met (high number of premium players in local with contributions over a certain level), one final wave spawns after participation awards are given; the rift dragon. The rift dragon being much stronger than a regular dragon, with a large rift wide AoE attack, and with an unusual tweak; the dragon's attacks deal extra damage to anyone wearing dragon/drake/moonmetal armour. It will always head back to the rift area and, if not killed within an hour, it despawns and the rift ends as per normal When killed, anyone who passes a reasonable (10+?) participation score on the initial rift, or lands a blow on the rift dragon, earns a random piece of loot: Rift Dragon Bone Fragments - Can be crafted into a rune that can be applied to any item (essentially a multi-material rune) Rift Dragon Scales - Can be used on an item to give them an extra rune slot (100% success rate) Rift Dragon Blood - Acts like a single use of silvery fluid (prevents 1 shatter on an item), or can be consumed to teleport a player home Rift Dragon Heart - Grants one free use of teleport corpse (karma skill) No corpse is left behind, instead a temporary (1 hr duration) portal opens that takes an player that uses it back to their home deed token on that server, along with their ridden mount (passengers get taken to the pilot's home deed).

    Improving an item has a difficulty equal to the item's current QL. So, if your skill and tool average out to the QL of the item, you have roughly a 50% chance of success. This makes improving extremely high-QL items very tough, since your tools can only be so high quality. Also, you can only improve something to a soft cap of (0.77*skill + 23) QL. Attempting to improve an item above that cap doubles all skill gains, but reduces QL gains to something extremely minimal, small enough that it doesn't keep up with damage from failures. Also, even before you hit that cap, the closer you are to the cap the slower the QL gain is. At 99.80 skill, you can improve an item to 99.846 QL. So yeah, you're going to see incredibly slow gains as you approach that, and you're going to have a lot of failures unless your tools are 99+ QL. I believe imbue might raise the cap though, so that could help if you put some potions on your tools. Even if you had "100" skill (really 99.999996 or something), you would be very unlikely to get the QL close enough to 100QL for the game to round it to 100.

    Fighting as it comes the closest to what i love doing most. Unless there was a walking/riding/sailing skill it would be that cause just going around and seeing what is actually around the server or other servers is always interesting.

    +1 I noticed the journal entry There was a Holy Crop cast on Inde and it got me thinking that this journal entry would only benefit the person who sees and casts it first. Not everyone is going to know when the spell is ready nor will they have enough priests around to cast it themselves.

    Electrum takes -10% damage through use. Gold and silver take +20% and +2.5% damage through use, respectively. This makes electrum better than gold or silver at most tasks.

    You quoted the chaos bannings. I am pretty sure it was not the 'GM team' who banned everyone in the area. As for the proph ban, I would assume that there was a vote, but the decision to not divulge information around the ban would of again been from higher up.

    I've spent another 30 minutes trying to find another battle camp, and I am unable to. Not a surprise, as I am left without a pendelum and those bubbles aren't around anymore.

    To use the old adage -'you cannot please all of the people all of the time'. I have seen this on one of the WU servers where I help out. We have a great team but every now and then we get criticised by someone who thinks we got something wrong. I can assure you that all we want to do is to make our server experience the best it possibly can be. Using the above, I would suggest that the Wurm Online GM team do a marvellous job overall. I would find it remarkable if they got everything right all of the time. They are humans and as well all know, humans can and do make mistakes.

    In my opinion GM team is doing good job, in all cases they are polite and fix a problem if they can. Only thing that worries me is many things they cannot do "couse it's pvp server". Of course it's not they fault but rules set by management of the game.

    I really like the idea of having a way of a person sending something to have a way of tracking that - what item is sent to who and how long it has been outstanding. and potentially the ability to recall for longer. This would also help solve accidentally mailing something to the wrong player due to spelling errors etc. Honestly I'm a cronic bad buyer, I don't have enough time in IRL to devote anywhere as much time to Wurm as I'd like and im very likely to get caught up and forget about something relitively minor - such as a small purchase on Wurm. It's very easy for me to log out from Wurm and sometimes find myself not able to log back in until the following week sometimes. This is something I am sorry for but also something that is unlikely to change unfortunately. I'd imagine I'm not the only one in a similar boat in this respect. Sellers also need to consider their buyers aswell, everyone's playtime and ability to relate with the game is different. So that's my two cents, +1 to more control and information for mailers and -1 to name and shame type stuff because it's calling out behaviour that is exceptionally unlikely to malicious.

    The changes were mostly affecting the biggest lag spikes - like the daily "backup lag" (worst on Xanadu, was like a 90 second pause), which should not be a thing anymore. We're still working on some more improvements.

    It has taken a while; well, in fact, it has taken much longer as expected; but as of today, Fraggle Rock Canal is an offical Herritage Site. Many thanks to Ajala for helping me out on this. And many thanks to the GM's that had to come back every time because things weren't beautiful enough, but never ran out of patience. If I ever make another application, I'll know what to be prepared for.     It is possible to print some message in the global chat after game start. Or we can create a special command to send to the server and server will print some area message to the Event tab. Or we can process a new special server command to disable the mod. But with the code sources provided it can easily be disabled.
