7 pointsUpdated Count! https://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/187783-my-food-addiction-update-4/ Well, Shydow kept bugging to give an update on my collection, and it has grown exponentially since my last post... I noted in my last thread it took me a good 4 hours to compile everything to display, but this time is much worse. Deciding I had nothing to better to do on a Saturday night, it has taken me now 6 hours to get all the screenshots and lists together to post, and like last time I used an even more efficient method and it still took longer. Overall it was about half an hour getting everything out of the magic chests and into enough containers in a wagon, along with about 2 hours of painstakingly moving items around for organizational purposes, then another few hours for tally and organizing of that tally, computing totals, and to get screenshots and this post together. Anyway, since my last update where I was up to 1x LMC, I am now up to 3x LMC's, stocked with small chests each with 27 quivers for storage. Everything is better organized now and will be large food items and meals separated so they don't take valuable space from the quivers for smaller items, and I will also be acquiring some runes for the LMC's and the small chests as well to increase their volumes. My usual food deliveries are about 100 items a week as well, as opposed to the 20 or so a week when I first posted up my food collection in early 2017. 3 pointsIt's been over two years now and no love yet. It is not right that one can go hunting and get 100ql coal and yet at 98.06 coal making, using 99ql mats, selecting only the very best results after creation and adding the dirt, I still have a hard time hitting the magic number of 81.82ql on the coal piles to make 90ql coal with the walnut bonus. I'd like to modify my suggestion above from a couple years ago to make walnut give a 25% bonus to ql. I can live with having to make 80ql coal piles to get 100ql results. This seems like it is most likely a very easy modification to make, won't upset the game balance in any way that I can see, and will bring some reasonableness into the process whereby a highly skilled coal maker can get the same ql coal as a hunter. I'd also like to suggest this should be a temporary fix until the whole coal process (including coal from hunting) comes up for rework.

2 pointsI have always assumed that if you have a horse which is branded to your deed and is saddled, it is safe to park anywhere on the same server and no-one will be able to steal it as long as the horses permissions do not allow. This however, is not true. I had a situation happen recently where I discovered some of my saddled and branded horses missing from my island. I had just parked them all over the place, assuming they are 100% safe. However, since my settlement allows non-citizens to LEAD animals on my deed (a setting I need, because I have a horse market) this allowed someone to just come and snatch my own branded and saddled horses away. These horses had the Xmas gift saddlebags, so I was pretty devastated by this loss. The issue is the fact that the settlement permissions OVERRIDE the animal's own permissions. Surely this cannot be right? I did some tests with a friend who has no permissions to my deed and he was able to lead my branded horse away. What makes this even more alarming, is that even if I could just make sure to park my horses inside of fences from now on on my own deed, what happens if I visit someone else's deed and dismount. If the deed owner changes the permissions of their deed to allow leading, anyone will be able to take my horse. This needs to be changed so that animal specific permissions OVERRIDE the settlement permissions, and not vica versa.

After we were left with an unfinished map software and no information about when it will be fixed (if at all), I teamed up with my friend Substr, who is an experienced web developer, to create a new web based interactive map. When finished, this new community map will contain all the information that we once had (highways, landmarks and location names, resources...) and more! Here is a sneak preview of what it will look like: This new map is based on a small and clean web application, created by Substr. We (Substr and myself) will have complete control over the map software and thus will be able to adjust the map to the needs and wishes of Deli's community, without being dependent on a third party. The new map is almost finished and will be available soon(TM). Please stand by.

2 pointsCould not agree more with the OP. But I also want to add something that goes along with it. Creature cages unloaded onto deeded areas often cannot be reloaded by the owners because the deed perms overide the cage perms. I know Iam not alone in the frustration this has caused.

2 pointsThis is the thing. Right here. Paying attention is hard. Its easier to just autoattack someone else with godmode accounts, moon metal weapons, scale gear, tomes and own the battlefield. Skill is immaterial. Make people pay attention and they get wrecked. I suppose thats why they feel this system is flawed.

2 pointsCurrently the only branches found through foraging are birchwood branches. As someone who has acquired a fair few branches through foraging and more recently through archaeology, I must say I love the range of different branches now available through arch/restoration. There is currently a demand for some of the rarer wood-types for pegs, shafts, wood-scraps and all these can be made from branches. Some of these branches are quite challenging and time consuming to piece together through arch, so what I would like to see, is the same (or similar) wide range of wood-types for the branches found by foraging, as currently found through arch. I think it makes logical sense to find the same (or at least similar) branches in the present day, as the ones recovered through archaeology. Just a thought.

2 pointsIt seems to me that this abduction of a branded horse from deed is a malicious exploit of that server vulnerability by the perpetrator. It would be good when GM and Devs could check the logs to identify and punish the villain in case the horse did not just vanish by a bug without player interaction. Nobody can tell that he or she abducted a branded horse on deed with innocent motives. Such players ought to be punished.

1 pointDisbandMod Simple mod I wrote to disband villages/settlements on a server when the mayor has been inactive/hasn't logged in for a set amount of time. The reason I wrote this mod when there are already tax/upkeep mods out there for a similar purpose is I wanted one that would take place instantly. With this mod, upkeep will be ignored - once the configured number of days have gone by, the deed goes poof. I tested this mod on my local development server with a few test cases on 1.8.0.3 with ago1024's modloader v0.40 and the results were successful. That being said, there may be things I've overlooked, so I still recommend making backups! If you come across any bugs/issues please let me know and I'll look into fixing them. Note: Requires Sindusk's SinduskLibrary. link https://github.com/kevinmd88/disbandmod/releases DisableDeeds A niche mod that most servers probably wouldn't want. I created it for one of my own servers, and decided to share it for anyone who might find it useful. All it does is disable the settlement application form. Users who try to found a settlement, e.g. with the deed stake, will be given a message instead that it's disabled and won't be able to proceed with it. Any existing settlements that were on the server before the installation of this mod should be unaffected - they can be resized/modified/etc. as normal. 1 pointFor some reason, 1920x1080 resolution seems especially prone to crashing in fullscreen. Whenever I go through posts with this issue, it is nearly always either 1920x1080 or 1440x900 resolution, and mostly in WU not in WO. I recently switched to a 1920x1080 monitor, and when I tested running it at fullscreen, I crashed right at launch also (I normally run windows resizeable). Some people have speculated it has something to do with the older version of Java that is bundled with the Steam version of Wurm -- I have no idea whether this is true or not, but it could explain why WU is more prone to this issue. >>"If I open in windowed mode I get maybe 30 seconds of 10fps and then game closes as well"" Hmm this part is a bit more bothersome. Whether that is your resolution or not, try setting game options to something generic like 1280x800 windows resizeable (not fullscreen or windowed), then let it load, and once it loads, then maximize the window with the toggles at upper right corner to fill the full screen. It should adjust to the correct aspect ratio once maximized.

1 pointBringing a knife to a gun fight doesn't mean guns need to be nerfed.... it means you should have brought a gun. If you have moral issues with using guns, then PvP is not for you. There are plenty of ways to "block" spell damage... 1. You are a priest. This gives you two additional ways to negate the damage of an incoming nuke to the face. a. You have a hard counter interrupt on a 3 second cast called tangle weave. It has an even longer range than the aforementioned inferno. b. *edit* You mentioned pre-casting in your post, that was what was going here. 2. MOVE!!! If Inferno, or whatever spell... has a 10 tile range, depending on your current distance to the target you can do two things... a. Move in on them and try to hit/shieldbash/kill them, which might make them back up, thus interrupting their cast. b. Move AWAY from them. If I'm 9 tiles from you and I start to cast a spell on you, all you have to do is back up 1 tile and I should stop casting automatically. If you're encumbered, or you are wearing plate, or you are stunned/hurting because 5-6 people (even non priests) are hitting you with melee attacks.... that's your problem, not the spell itself. 3. *Removed* - Sorry, this one I don't want to share. Bottom line - the mechanics work fine. There are measures you can take to prevent them, with the appropriate awareness on the battlefield.

1 pointThe screen above is a test of per-camera rendering, currently just grid rendering - foundation to be able to use different cameras for different tasks (for example, one camera being above ground while the other one sits below the ground). Low-level rendering haunts me even in Unity. (it's much easier and clean to use and render such grids using raw GL calls rather than components built into Unity which work well, but don't really handle this specific case of DeedPlanner's uniform, multi-colored and frequently changing grid)

1 pointAs the one who had to live with her through her 5 days of rage getting up the mountaintop, let me answer that for her: Day 1: 50 Deaths Day 2: 50 Deaths - nowhere near the mountaintop Day 3: 50 Deaths - 8 hours of playing, 8 hours of dying, 8 hours of torturing Yldrania Day 4: A sh*tload of deaths - 5 hours of playing, then ragequitting after dying just a few tiles away from the top Day 5: Some deaths - 17 hours of playing - Climbing up without any gear but a deed stake in a long, 13 hour single setting endeavour Why? - you may ask Because I challenged her to play Wurm and her response was: if I manage to climb on this mountain I will stick around.
