    It is really frustrating when you're trying to buy animals, and you're in the middle of a server, and you have to leave the server each time to get that creature un-tamed. PLEASE allow us to un-tame creatures that are in crates via the management system. EDIT: For those who don't know: You are unable to tame, charm or dominate a creature while you have one tamed that is in a cage. With this update, you would be able to load multiple creatures at the same time without major time issues.

    I wrote something earlier, but I regret and edited my post. I know it's not ok to write this on your WTB post, but I feel the need to defend my reputation because what you wrote. So to the Admins of the forum, I apologize in advance. I started it by correcting a lie you made to a new player, just because you saw an opportunity to make easy coins by selling him something other players give away for free. If it's mafia-business to be honest, and try to help new players instead of selling them stuff many players actually give away for free, then Im a big mafia. And im proud of it... ChampagneDragon just covered my back as a friend when you had a go at me in /trade and on private messages after the incident. You really need to get over it, and stop blaming me for ruining the horse market, I just corrected you when you said NOONE gave away free horses... Rgr

    *agrees with Devean* The reason I made this post is because it seemed to me to be an unannounced change so I was pointing out what I thought might be the possible cause/effect scenario. It seems an unreasonable imposition to have on the PvE servers in light of players having under 20.00 fighting skill if they have no other interest in fighting mobs. On the PvE servers it takes time to seek out mobs to kill just for the purpose of raising fighting skill in order to improve newly built guard towers by newer players who decide they might have a use for them. This then would be an additional requirement requiring time which they would rather devote to other things. The point being this is a new change and requirement which makes no sense for PvE gameplay. It goes contrary to the choice of this playstyle in which players may choose to avoid fighting mobs as much as possible. Building guard towers suit this purpose very well as they significantly reduce the need to go out killing mobs to train up fighting skill to kill them; thus, in a significant way this defeats the main purpose of guard towers on the PvE servers. I doesn't take much indepth thought to figure this out. The pvp reasoning/justification does not apply here and on those servers their connectivity, influence and main use are on an entirely different basis which is now misapplied to the PvE servers with this 20.00 fighting skill requirement to repair them. Sure, it is easy enough for the Devs to shrug this off doing nothing about it since apparently it would take separating this pvp requirement from the PvE servers. The thing is this has significant impact on the PvE servers in the ability to improve guard towers by those who choose to build them. Yes I am immune to this imposition since after playing the game for more years than most I have very gradually raised my fighting skill up way beyond this but the newer player (as well as alt accounts for specific mayoral purposes) are not so fortunate. This change just reduces one of their options for newer player survival in building and improving a guard tower on their deed or within the wilds where they might choose to settle. Then they can later *gradually* build their fighting skill by fighting the mobs that come to invade their area after the tower guards have their aggro on them. This is the way I slowly trained up my fighting skill in the first year rather than to go out specifically searching for mobs to kill and I am sure many on the PvE servers have done and still do the same thing. So if there is no guard tower around they will naturally choose to build and improve one with their masonry skill which they will have raised up to do so. Nothing to do with needing 20.00 fighting skill previously for years past, nor should it be now because of pvp requirements impact. =Ayes=

    A message different from the default "you stop leading the x" for when whatever's being led gets stuck on the corner of a wall/door and stops leading, maybe something like "x's lead gets snagged on the wooden house wall and is ripped from your grasp" so you actually know what the problem is instead of trying to figure out why your horse that's desynced 10 tiles away suddenly decided to stop or like, make them follow your movements better so they don't try to run through walls like morons

    So I made a new alt to check out Haven's Landing. After raising his masonry skill a bit I decided to try to repair some minor damage on a Guard Tower. The message I got was something to the effect that 20 Fighting Skill was required to repair a Guard Tower. As far as I know before this pvp Guard Tower linking update no Fighting Skill at all was required to repair Guard Towers on the PvE servers. This change will be problematic for players building new Guard Towers on the PvE servers since they may care nothing about raising their Fighting Skill but rather just want to build their Guard Tower and then improve it once finished, which will require repairing damage to it while doing so. Perhaps this is some oversight with the pvp Guard Tower linking system and isn't intended to be a requirement on the PvE servers? Maybe this has gone by unnoticed on the PvE servers and none have mentioned it? Anyway, I wanted to make a post to bring this issue to attention as no doubt as I mentioned it will be problematic to some newer or alt players wanting to improve a Guard Tower that they have built. A totally unnecessary requirement and restriction to be in place upon the PvE servers as it servers no constructive purpose there. If kept on the pvp servers only then yeah I see no problem with it since Fighting Skill is one of the main focus of that playstyle. =Ayes=

    Actually... I'm playing Wurm for over 20 years, and I haven't hit 20 FS yet. I hate fighting, that's exactly why I build Guard Towers! Requiring FS to repair the towers that are needed to help people with low FS survive the spawns is ridiculous...

    Uniques should remain extremely rare indeed, this is a good suggestion to address that, providing hints towards the creatures location but not spawning it directly. I can see how making them spawn at high levels would just invalidate the challenge and rarity that they pose. The other option of course being to not include uniques in the scope of any tracking update at all. But there is also the option to maybe add a few new "elites" in as a mid-ground, such as an "Brood Queen" for anaconda or "Alpha Wolf", as long as they make sense and fit in the lore! Such elites could be more difficult than a Champion and pose a real challenge to most players, or even groups, thinking along the lines of "Champion+Greenish+Raging" + CR increase from the usual mob.

    Update Jan 15th, 2019 at 01:54 GMT (UTC). I received an email a days ago from the Omaha, Nebraska funeral home that took care of Zorako and organized a proper burial service for him. The Chaplin apologised for the delay, but he was finally able to get down the Omaha National Cemetery recently (which is a long drive from the Mortuary to be fair) to get for us the promised photo of the proper head stone at Zorako's grave. http://prntscr.com/m6hrv4 Tom "Zorako" Hill has received a fitting head stone for his final resting place. I did send a thank you email back to the mortuary their time and effort. It was accompanied with a screen shot of the Zorako Memorial, which is located on FM East Highway, just across the road from where Zorako's village was on Independence, so show them how Wurmian's honour a fellow Wurmian, who was well respected and liked by all. My thanks to all who have shown their support during our time of loss and grieving. With a heavy heart, Hughmongus Co-Leader - The Albia Consortium (and a fellow veteran friend of Zorako).

    Laying our friend Zorako to rest. June 22nd, 2018 Amendment: See the end of report for a link to one of the TV stations coverage of the service which the Funeral Home was nice enough to sent me today as I was heading to the airport for my own flights home. Amendment: See the end of the below report for the link to the just received photo of the head stone monument that now marks our friend's final resting place. It was moderately warm overcast day today in Omaha, Nebraska, USA. Among the 200 plus folks who turned up to say good bye to Thomas "Zorako" Hill, were three Wurmian's. Hughmongus, Zpen, and Finndar. Skyefox and Gold dust both wanted to be here but could not get the time off from their respective day jobs to attend in person. The Chaplin started Zorako's burial service by telling folks that it was the gaming community who did not give up on Zorako... that we kept pushing to ensure he got a proper burial service with proper honours for a war veteran and retired serviceman. As they could not locate an living Next of Kin for him, Finndar, Zpen and myself were put in the front row (where immediate RL family normally go). We, his friends from the gaming community, were were acknowledged as his family as he no longer had one in RL. Two local TV stations showed up cover the service and a local newspaper. They were blown away by us coming in from all over the world. From east coast of the USA, west coast of Canada and from Eastern Europe to give our good friend a proper send off. The TV press wanted an interview afterwards and asked who was the group's spokesman. Although I (Hugh) was the senior Wurmian present (one with most time in Wurm and who has known Zorako the longest), I deferred to Finndar as I felt it more appropriate that an American speak for a fellow American and answer their questions.     it will always open from the lowest point and up. what direction you are facing does not matter, the slope of the rock tiles matter. So if you want it to open the other way. you'll have to dig all the surrounding tiles to rock, and then surface mine the corners, so that the tile slopes the other way.

    THIS I can agree with. I'm at 69.xx AH. I have a perfect herd of horses with USH. Each time I breed I get a tiny bit of skill. Heaven forbid a critter happens to need groomed for some reason. Makes me run an alt to the stables just so I don't risk a tick. This shouldn't be the case. Then after breeding I get to cull a significant number. Don't even get me started on the whole new color thing. 150+ foals born just to get ONE new color. No telling how many I'll have to breed to get teh silver maned one I want. Guess I should really start grinding leather working....

    DO NOT sell your main. Reasons: 1) killing the chance to ever return on your own name 2) making others uncomfortable to see an account they know in the hands of another player 3) you won't get the money from selling that would pay for the emotional ties and the time you put into it 4) I would hate to see you go permanently Selling items usually turns up more cash than the toon itself. I really hope we will still see you around in Wurm - and if the sellout is induced by RL issues those will get cleared fast.

    Hello I bet I am not alone in being one unique from finishing personal goals. Not to mention being given 2 months notice of the removal of personal goals. when you have to have played as premium for 3 months to qualify to be a "winner". Can you please give us more time to finish our goals. or have a huge unique event where we can get the unique we need to finish our goals. none of my alts will finish the game. But I am more upset that my main will not either!

    I've been playing around a bit with the new system. And because I have RL fishing experience it has been a weird experience. The system is clearly modelled after the real world and uses a lot of real world names, but real world knowledge doesn't transfer most of the time. I have no idea why different floats exist, for example. In RL I can use literally anything that is buoyant enough to keep my bait at the desired depth while being light enough to indicate bites. The float does not affect anything beyond that. And in RL, most fish hook themselves and pulling on the line may even be counter productive, like with carp which are notoriously paranoid. These issues turn the system into the uncanny valley of game systems. However, my main problem is how poorly fishing explains itself. It starts with the inability to get to a "working state", i.e. a state where catching fish reliably works. This is because it is never clear why something doesn't work. Specifically: * It is not clear that one absolutely has to click to hook a fish. This should be communicated better because it diverges from RL. * It is completely unclear why fish keep escaping after clicking. Not fast enough? Too early? Hook ql too low? Something completely arcane? The messages should either be clearer or it shouldn't fail. Combining twitch gameplay with rng skill checks is confusing and frustrating. * I don't see any way of finding out which fish like/dislike what with all the variables in play. Players shouldn't have to write scientific studies using extensive test runs and control for variables just to catch a carp. Perhaps write up some small blurb for each fish type including their preferences and expose that information via the analyse feature already used for the almanach. * The role of each reel/line is left completely unclear. Judging by the weights of the fish I've cought I should've always used the thinnest line possible and tiny hooks, but hooks only exist in two variants that I wouldn't ever consider IRL and one type that I would… I think the problems are completely fixable since there's nothing really egregiously wrong with it on a mechanical level, but far too much of it is shrouded in mystery. It should be dead simple to catch freshwater lake fish with the most basic and obvious equipment (i.e., a line tied to a branch and a small iron hook with a worm or some corn on it) to give players a base to branch out from, where they are reliably able to succeed at catching _something_.

    Great, so Wurm has captured the tiny percentage of the gaming population that finds all its crazy systems fun. What drives -me- crazy are the unnecessarily frustrating mechanics that push away a larger segment of the gaming population that would be willing to play Wurm.

    Yes, really. Let's just say it's obvious to me why Wurm's player base is so small. The game fundamentally disrespects its players (and like you, many players pass that on, so perhaps Wurm has a type).

    Anything requiring twitch skill on the part of the player as well as an abstracted in-game "skill" is a kind of double-whammy. If I have to hit metal precisely in a kind of mini-game to get what I want, then I don't want an abstract "skill" to also matter. I like the idea of removing repetition, but I'm mistrustful of twitchy mechanics (could simply be a new, more frustrating, lag-affected sort of repetition).

    Fishing went from a mundane click game to something interactive and awesome, it's AWESOME! tedious and convoluted. We got a Ninja update on clothing (white hoods and jackets etc) it's AWESOME! finally some plain clothes, only took them like 3 years? We got new mechanic for climbing and grinding it finally grants results, it's AWESOME!. they fixed something that's been broken since before I started playing!

    The thing that got me hating wurm most lately over the years is making bulk like bricks and planks for example. Realisticly you need those in tousands if you wanna do anything fun and serious. Now i don't mind that it takes 2 hours or more to chip 1k bricks but i do mind a lot that during that time i have to midlesly click every couple minutes, it's boring as hell and extremely punishing to players. Since introduction of stills my eyes have oppened in another direction wurm could be going. What if we could build extremely comlicated and resource demanding sawmills powered by water or wind where you could load logs and after significant time pick up planks, what if we could have labourers contracts, and we could employee npcs to chip bricks, make nails (they would have respected skills at 1 and progress while they are producing so the older contract would be it would gain on value and would be fairly expensive like traders), farmers that would farm deeded farms and harvest them when times come and resaw, we would have to equip them with tools and regulary repair those tools (they would stop when tool dmg is close to 100 though, dont want them to blow it to air). I have toggeled over the idea for quite sometime it could bring quite new flavour to wurm and people would still have option to do it themselves more efficient.

    I've designed (and released) slot machine games more reliable than wurm's enchanting system XD Seriously, the randomness is more than a little crazy. I know magic, by lore, is bound by hidden rules, but relying on gaming the rng is a bit extreme...

    I have pretty much left Wurm Online and instead have decided to focus on Wurm Unlimited (Mythmoor) so I can actually learn the deeper game mechanics and enjoy the deeper game content some time in THIS DECADE. Even with 7x skill and 5x timer, the grind is real but at least bearable. Maybe that is what you need, to play in a less-stressful, more productive Wurm rule-set.

    Its sad story for troll king, but not sad as live around. Land is flooding by greedy knights. Their greedy and proud come from a small cat. Small rubbish cat, which shaking fear in the dirty corner. Small cat, that was painfully hurt. She forgot, that pain comes from brake love. She forgot, she is here for god. Must remember for love a rise a sword in that name. Overnight strong spirit comes inside every knight. When understand, who we was ages ago, when understand our real doing, when understand our past lives, then pain will cut down. Rocks smelt into a fog and all will be forgiven. Love appears again and comes into the personality.

    Item Casting Services You NEVER pay for an overcast at DBM! If you ask for an 81-90 range and get 101, you pay the 81-90 rate. Casted materials are done by request and will normally be done right away. I will always use the highest q material available to me 100q in many cases. Nearly any material you could desired casted I have on hand! Shatter Insurance: I will replace standard material Weapons, Tools, Shields, and Armor pieces I can produce up to 90q at no cost to you, as long as said item being casted on is 80q or better. I may replace lower Q items at my discretion but its not implied. Sadly rare+ items cannot be replaced except with a standard tool, nor will I replace any cast not from the current order. Don't forget to put your name on your items if your sending them in for service! Wind of Ages / Circle of Cunning / Blessings of the Dark (WOA+COC) / LITDeep / LITWoods / LITDark / Mend / Stone Strike.
