It would only require me to go to the location and verify everything. ya know counting and that math type stuff, and yes if all the stuff on this side of the equation meets all the stuff over there on that side of the equation, I am willing to proof Alegria's work and slap a stamp of quality on it.

I just had a visitor, counting the barrels of wine, I love his outfit and his magic : [15:35:20] You have received 1000 karma for 'Create 5000 liters of wine'. I'm a bit lost for words now, so I'll just say, The End !

Dear Wurmians, Let me tell you a love story gone bad. When I just started playing Wurm, it was love at first sight and I continued to play for 2,5 years with lots of love and devotion. I trusted Wurm completely, I may not have always agreed with everything he did, but as in every good relationship, we always could find enough mutual ground to stay together. But today, Wurm has cheated on me. Let me explain: For months I have been working on completing this one personal goal: make 5000 liters of wine. Mind, I'm more of a casual player, I have some sort of RL and a full time job. But nevertheless, I have spend a lot of my valuable free time in completing this achievement. It was not something I enjoyed doing, but I was looking forward for the reward at the end. And finally, more than a month before the deadline, I was finished with the 113 barrels it took, still leaving me plenty of time for the 2 last achievements to complete. I was chuffed, I still loved Wurm and the future looked bright. But after all the barrels turned into wine, I still didn't get the achievement. My first thought was, that this was all just a big misunderstanding, that it was just a bug or something. After all, I still have all 5040 liters of wine stored in my deed. I thought that if I could only talk to Wurm, he would say it was just all a big mistake and that he would fix it. I had so much trust in Wurm. But after talking to a friend of Wurm (who had experienced the same thing), all my hope was chattered to ever completing this achievement. The reason it failed? I must have left the server while a certain amount of the barrels turned into wine, so they didn't count. I did make all of them, like he asked, but some of them just didn't count. (Wurm had never told me about this rule.) And so, Wurm has broken my heart, and with all the trust gone I don't know if we can stay together any longer. I'm already disbanding the first one of my 4 large deeds because, Wurm, if your going to cheat on me, you can no longer have my money. The end? I have no idea, I still hope Wurm will contact me and some of the broken trust can be restored. Happy New Year Wurmians. Alegria

@Retrograde@Enki Would it be really that hard to grant an exception to this person? I mean, it really isn't their fault that they did not know. The whole system is being phased out and Alegria did in fact complete the requisite. Is not like she screwed up and is now trying to get preferential treatment. This is a known issue that will in fact dissapear once the old system is taken out of the game. She's short on time She has done all the work She unfairly was not aware of the potential issue when crossing servers. This is a case of good faith. Why not give them a hand? You have the ability to do so. @AlegriaRegardless, my offer stands. Don't quit. I'll help you get this completed. Just let me know how much more you need and if the staff doesn't help, I will.

Thank you all so so much to support me by posting here. Especially since many of you don't even know me. I felt that my basic english wasn't adequate to properly defend my case, but you all stood up and did that for me, way better than I could have. And thank you Wurm for reaching out and not giving up on me and like Spolmit put it so splendidly to rule by the spirit of the law rather than the letter of the law. I'd be happy to let Enki into my deed Myst on Affliction (not that he needs my permission to do that) to let him do the equation thing. The barrels are in a building named "Brewery". He may even take a few sips, just to make sure there aren't any sour grapes in it, before he uses his QL stamp. As for the offers to give grapes and maple sap, thank you very much, but I don't think that would have worked out. The mere thought of having to put another grape into that press already gave me an anxiety attack. I also have zero skill in wine making on freedom, and since skills don't go that way, it would have been another painfull proces. Waiting for Enki now and I will post here if things proceed. Thanks again ❤️

Wurm is a great game and much of this is due to the team behind the scenes and Retrograde in particular has done much to inform, entertain and create bridges between the mechanics of Wurm and the players. The warning about the wine-making not being counted if on another server is indeed noted in Wurmpedia, however, not all players are avid readers of the wiki and instead simply enjoy the game without thinking or worrying about the nuances. Some will say that players should check and read the 'small-print' and they are culpable if they fail to do so but I feel that many will sympathise with Alegria. It is surely plain to see that Alegria has created the requisite amount of wine but in the eyes of the game they have not. Is this not unjust? We are dealing here with a wonderful game, but a game that needs players. What a wonderful opportunity for Wurm to say thank you to a player for making Wurm their home by considering their plight- after all it IS the season of goodwill!.

This would probably be a lot of work to do properly but, please let us make sleds and go sledding down big hills with good slopes! Obviously a sled can't turn much and would follow the curve of slopes and crash into trees, but it could (hopefully!) pick up massive speed on the right hill! Imagine the projects people could start to make the perfect sledding hill, even in a limited way to facilitate travel! (Quickest way down a mountain!) Let me hop in a supreme oak sled and race my mates down Dragon Fang!

There is something I should inform all of you about. I am currently in hot water with the Wurm Online team for this action. They are none too pleased with me. It is not that they didn't want to help, it is policy that they followed to the letter, policy that I and Budda have put in place. It is good policy, and they did right by it. I have no intention of stepping on or bypassing intended mechanics. Normally, I would have talked to Alegria and pushed for you guys to pool together and make this work without me. In fact, for others I still highly recommend completing this achievement mechanically with the help of others if warranted. Sometimes during the holidays, I do a few things that I would not normally tolerate during the normal mundane days of the year.... you know, the ones that end in ay... This season I was really overworked and gave the seniors of my team some extra play room to have a little fun which saved me a ton of holiday workload. They did great. Everything you guys and gals do in Wurm Online is an achievement and I do not want to diminish that. I do my best to judge situations on their merits and in some cases I may rule in a fashion that seems against a ruling I have made before. This is never out of favoritism or any kind of bias. It will always be in relation to the merits of the situation and changes in the game. These kinds of matters get me in trouble, and it leaves you with the impression that the others of my team are bad guys. They do a fantastic job day in and out, and it is mostly a thankless and abusive job. They deserve a lot better, and I know it hurts them when I step in and do something like this. 10 times out of 10 I will stand behind my team's decisions, so trying to 'take it up with Enki' isn't going to get you anywhere. Many pm requests this year went unanswered because they were not worth taking time away from more pressing matters, and almost all I did respond to just got mad at me and cursed and berated me for not ruling differently. I wish you all a happy new year, and hopefully when the team lets me out of the dog house I can enjoy it too.

It would be so sad to lose a potential opponent on Epic I would never notice anything about your English - though I'm not reliable as it is not my mother tongue either. To the main point of my answer is: Just for the record, for the achievement you don't need to do all the legwork creating the wine, the magic is done when you seal the wine barrel with that woodscrap. For the sake of safety I do pour all the smelly guey liquid to wine barrels in my inventory before I seal it with a woodscrap. That ensures that the barrel of wine will proudly bear your name on it. EDIT: ohh and make sure you don't drink up all the stock at once when the QL check is done ...

The problem is, the goal just says you need to make that much wine. Which they did. So, it should count. It doesn't, because they were on a different server while it fermented, but the goal doesn't say "make X wine without changing server", it just says "make X wine". You are never warned about this in-game. I've had the same thing happen to me with the trash heap goal. That one is a great deal easier, so it wasn't a big problem, but I have to say, I was a bit annoyed. Maybe it should be a bit smarter and actually merge player data instead of just overwriting with the newer one. Or maybe, when a server updates the player data for a player that is on a different server, the server should communicate the change to the other server, so it can do the same operation. (As long as it transfers the operation and not just the new value, this should be fine. Like "add 10kg of wine made") I have finished my goals, so I'm not longer personally affected by this (apart from losing out on achievements, I suppose... don't really care), but I would definitely consider this a bug.

if they are saying that they cant fix this then they need to explain why others were helped. I had Enki come and count my wine. He verified all of mine from pre patch and post.

Cancer Sucks According to statistics, approximately 38.4% of men and women will be diagnosed with cancer at some point during their lifetimes. When you think about the size of your family, the statistics catch up to you, and suddenly cancer becomes something you experience first-hand. I am no stranger to cancer. When I was 7-years old my oldest sister, Tammy, died from Leukemia. Then thirty years later, I got the diagnosis of a malignant tumor in my abdomen. Thanks to good doctors and a bit of luck, I am now a 10-year survivor of Stage 3 Malignant Peritoneal Mesothelioma. We recently lost Tich, one of the developers of Wurm Online, to cancer. Tich designed many of the features we know and love, including Bridges, Highways and Bees. Her death touches all of us in the Wurm Online universe. And so we honor Tich's memory with a this fundraiser in hopes that science can help find cures for a disease that affects too many. We have partnered with the Cancer Research Institute, which has a system of personal fundraisers: https://fundraise.cancerresearch.org/fundraiser/1809564 The NEXA clan is planning a series of auctions on the WTA forum to benefit this fundraiser. Winners of auctions will be able pay for their item(s) with a donation to this fundraiser as a form of payment. (They take credit cards.) We'll take silvers and PayPal too, with all proceeds going to the fundraiser. These auctions will be linked here and will start soon. Sincerely, Jackjones From the desk of Enki (Head Game Master) Disclaimer: This fundraiser is not affiliated with Wurm Online or parent company Code Club AB. As per Wurm Online rules all transactions are done at your own risk same as any other auction. This is not a personal fundraiser. Were you inside the cave? or maybe a bit far? Those lists are based on combat logs, so i guess the 2 lists were gathered on different spots. Maybe one slightly inside the cave, and the other slightly outside? or maybe they were just 2 different spots far from eachother and you weren't close enough to odynn to get in his log. I hit it 8 times on odynn's log, and i believe that's right, i certainly hit it more than 3 times. Thanks Alkhadias, btw! : ) ...Never got so much digging skill in a single dragon slay

It certainly was a fun event and I've enjoyed it a lot. Although I didn't have much time to take screenshots, I was able to capture two nevertheless. One showing the dragon slaying achievement, something which - I don't doubt - several of us got for the first time. I think the other one is more fun, as it shows how many times you need to slap a dragon, before it's dead. After it got killed, two of the players decided to volunteer for the 2nd part of this event, called "Search the body". Luttuosa and Alkhadias eventually managed to find those two bodies, although I'm not sure what they actually won; other than the eternal gratefulness of the char's owners. Still, it was a good day all in all and I certainly hope we'll have more like these events in the future. Thorin

This is the solution that's desperately needed. So many game artefacts are caused by this lack of communication cross-server. Wishing these things away with "That's just how the game works" isn't really ideal, especially when all of these problems rear their head time and time again - all with the same underlying cause. Investing the time in fixing more core functionality reaps rewards tenfold in the future; even on player-facing features.

I hope I am able to continue seeing the community come together to help its members when something like this happens. Seeing the offers of help are the reason that I feel Wurm has not betrayed me.

If this is not enough, let me know how much more you need. I'll help with the bill to get you the rest of the grapes, if this will keep you in the game.
  34. 2 points
Just in case this hasn't been clear before: I did put in a ticket. I told them all the wine was still there. But he told me nothing can be done. I would imagine they could search the logs to see if I made all the 113 barrels myself, and that they could fix it manually. But nope. They may have fixed it for multiple players, but they haven't fixed it for me. Should I just make another 14 barrels? I considered it. But grape season is very close to the deadline. Not enough time to harvest, prepare and make it ferment. Unless your a 24/7 player maybe. And even then it would still be a gamble. And there's no guaratee that it would work this time. I didn't wait until the last minute just to prevent this. I got the last grapes from some friends to finish this in time, all for nothing. So should I spend even more time to complete the last 2 goals, just to fail again at the finishline? I think it's been enough. I just wish I could get back all that time wasted ...

Sorry to hear this tragic story. If it can be corroborated by Wurm, I hope that the spirit of the law may be applied rather than the letter of the law. If unsuccessful, I would be glad to give you 500 grapes and 4 small wine barrels of maple sap to enable you to attempt to reach your target. They are currently on S Pristine. Happy New Year to you Alegria and we will hopefully see you in Wurm in 2019.

I doubt that there will be a lot of people whom still play that remember this name. Nonetheless, I wanted to let you all know of his passing. For what has been a terrible last 2 years of people passing whom have had Wurm at their heart and soul, this one hits me the hardest. I learnt of his passing today through a friend whom no longer plays Wurm and reached out to me on Facebook. I don't know all the details yet so will update you all once I know more. For those that don't know, Wintersolstice began playing Wurm Online in Beta map 7, almost 14 years ago. A time when the graphics where near as good as they are now, the player base was tiny in comparison, but it was still the game we've grown to love over the years. Winter was a person who was extremely caring and spent a lot of his days helping out not only those in his village but also others whom were in need, whether it be friend or foe. At the forefront of this, helping out new players was what he was great at. I started playing Wurm in September 2005. I tried to learn as much of the game as I could within the confines of a deed known as Grey Town and it wasn't long before I decided to venture off on my own with my brother, Mee. We stumbled across Wintersolstices' deed one day and noticed there were some unlocked fences which we decided to help ourselves to the items inside. We loaded absolutely as much as we could into the two small carts and ran off with our newly found bounty. It had been about 45 minutes before we were stopped by this guy called Wintersolstice and he caught us red handed. Our carts loaded to the brim with items in his name among others. It was here that Winter gave us an ultimatum. He condemned us to live the rest of our Wurm lives with him, which turned out to be some of the most fun I've had in the years I have played Wurm and some of the most memorable. By the end of the very last beta map, I had been a part of his deed for almost a year, and we had made plans to make a deed called Silron Valley on the only PVP server that was accessible after the announcement that the game was going to go to 'Gold'. A year and a half had passed on this map, over this time, I'd joined multiple villages, quit two or three times and my parents had split up, I looked up to Winter as a father figure and still do. A catastrophic server failure meant that Wurm had to start over once more, in what is known as Gold 2, and the current cluster of servers, with the only surviving map from that era, known as Chaos. Again we found ourselves with Wintersolstice in the village known as Rivendell. We went through several iterations of this deed name and it was in the 3rd Rivendell that Winter learnt that he had congenital heart failure. He went in for an operation to have a pacemaker put in his heart and I had no idea what this was at the time but once he explained what it was, I knew it was serious and that at any time the unthinkable could happen. Winter tried to still log in as much as he had in the past, the various health problems that Winter had meant he would be on for weeks at a time, and off for a week, there were a few times he would disappear for months only to pop up once again and tell me he had gone back into hospital. He wasn't in good shape at all. The last time I spoke to him was over a year ago, but I didn't know it would be the last time we would ever talk. Winter called my brother and I Little dudes, we're all grown up now and I wish you had been around the last few years to spend some more time with us because we absolutely loved every moment of it and that's something I will never forget. Today is his birthday, December the 22nd. The Winter Solstice, the reason for his name. Rest in peace Tommy. I'll miss you and you'll forever have a special place in my heart. https://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Player:Wintersolstice

I guess mainly this is why the personal goal system is being phased out. Too many unhappy players. I know this not helps for all who is putting a lot of work, time, effort and maybe silvers to achieve the goals though. What I strongly hope that the new journal system avoids tasks raising such issues...

Hey folks! With the end of the year just around the corner I've spent quite some time on reflecting on what, for me atleast has been one of the most interesting and exciting years (Both inside of the game and out.) One of the first things and probably most relevant to the Wurm Online community is the founding of the Valrei Entertainment Network (https://www.wurmonline.com/valrei-entertainment-network/)which essentially is a group that is supported by Wurm's PR team and Devs, to help build up the viewership of Wurm. This works on principal of engaging the existing players plus bringing new players along with spreading the word about Wurm though variety streamers. At the start of this year, without the FF brothers streaming regularly there really wasn't a huge amount of viewership and interest in Wurm Streams. There was a small handful bringing in maybe half a dozen viewers at the peak so shout out to you guys (Minnasulus is probs the one for me who springs to mind first). Looking back at this though now and seeing how much the stream viewership for Wurm players has grown is crazy. With some streams peaking out at 70+ concurrent viewers and the Wurm Online climbing more than 2000k spots on Twitch for most watched games. It's clear to see that there is a demand for content has increased but not just that with more people streaming and sharing ideas. Plus the Wurm team getting involved, the quality of the streams overall has increased by a huge amount. I'm really proud to be part of this whole thing and I'm excited to see what next year brings for VEN and Wurm streaming. Now the next thing I've spent a huge amount of thinking about lately is just how much new content and stuff has come out for Wurm this year. Honestly some of the biggest fixes and updates for the game have come out this year and it's really exciting to see things being worked on with real vigor and honestly in a way that makes sense in a more overall game sense. Budda, Saroman, Samool (<3), Sindusk and all the other devs have done a terrific job working tirelessly to keep this game chugging along and now coming up to either my 13th or so year of playing. I can say with complete honesty there has not been a time in Wurm's past that has made me quite as excited to play as it does now. Plus a big upside is that one of my biggest gripes with the game (personal goals) is on the way out so YAY! Finally on a personal note, as some of you might know, this year I started streaming. With the couple of test streams in February and picking it up more seriously in March with a schedule (Including Wurm Wednesday!). I really feel as though I've found something I am really passionate about and enjoy. When I started i set a goal of 50 followers a month, considering now I'm just shy of 800 at the time of this post. It's safe to say I achieved my little goal and had soooo much fun and made tons of friends along the way. A big part of that has been as a part of and with the Wurm Community so thankyou, so much. One of the true highlights of this was earlier this month doing a fundraiser for a Organisation called "WIRES" which rescue and rehabilitate native Australian wildlife. Thanks to the generous viewers of the streams, we managed to raise between all of us $1300 which is pretty amazing. Being able to do something I enjoy to do good things for the stuff I'm passionate about (Eg animals) is a truly wonderful feeling. This year has been without a joke, one of the best of my life. I've managed to make good progress in a professional sense in my RL job, I've met an amazing gal and I've also spent a huge amount of time an energy channeling into my streaming hobby. I'm fitter and happier than I've ever been and my creative side is satisfied. Whilst I feel like I'm now so busy I barely have time to do everything I want, I ultimately am genuinely excited for what 2019 will throw my way. To everyone reading this, whether you're a friend, passing acquaintance or an enemy; I genuinely wish you all the best for 2019 and I hope you reach your own goals. If you'd like to watch a recap of the best bits of 2018 Streaming from my perspective:
