We need a chicken and a cow statue, it would make a good center piece for any farming deed. Support your local egg and milk farmers today.

when you are shooting a mob in the middle of nowhere and theres no buidings around and it takes you 20 arrows and you kill it, you can't loot it if its on a deed this is silly and needs to be changed, people shouldn't lose x amount of arrows because what they're shooting wanders onto a deed
  5. 3 points
It would be nice to be able to craft these when you're in the middle of nowhere and forgot to bring your tent! Perhaps craftable with a rope and some wood? So often I've found a nice sheep but want to log out because it's late, but of course if I do I'll lose the sheep. A hitching post would solve this problem and enable my sheep collecting tendencies.

What inspires me? Wurmians, in all the years I've played, it's not the places, it's not the buildings, or the bridges, it's the people who make them, you are my inspiration, you are inspiring, from the new player who just entered the game, to those who survived Wurmageddon, for the stories, the tears and the laughter, to quiet times, and the raucous, you're all my inspiration, and the reason I continue to log in and roam the lands. I thank you all for just being there, for continuing to inspire me to procrastinate and wander, to see what you have built from the rocks, trees and dirt we inhabit, you're all the inspiration this Wurmian will ever need.

It would be nice if there was an option to do forges and ovens with a short or tall chimney. I find it frustrating when you have a two story house and the chimney from your forge / oven on the lower floor sticks up into the room above. The tall chimney would be nice for a single story building so it could stick through the roof and create a nice effect , and the short chimney would be nice for a multistory house so it wouldn't invade higher floors.

One thing often discussed that turns people away is how slow the grind is for beggining players. Many people are dissuaded from playing the game because of how hard it is to get started. Enter mentoring. Two players link with each other similar to the way priests do. As long as they are within 10 tiles from each other, mentoring remains active. The mentor must have higher than 70 skill in the craft he is mentoring the other player on. The mentee must have less than 50 skill in said craft. As long as those conditions are met, the mentee gets a skill gain bonus. This stacks with other bonuses already available. This system allows for accelerated training for players who are trying to learn a new craft. It also promotes social interaction and allows players to work together side by side and works toward keeping communities together.

I wanted to make a red cloth suit for the holidays but I am having a problem. I went to make a cloth jacket into a red jacket following directions. First I added water and have an unfinished red jacket. Then I went to add a cochineal. It would not give me the continue option. Turns out the assembly in the crafting window is asking for 1 conch, not 1 cochineal. You gotta spell the words right every time guys. These darned computers do exactly what you tell them to do, not what you meant to tell them.

I dont think we should reject ideas based on what people will complain about or not. A good solution is to allow sorted/not sorted as it is in the WU mod. If people dont like the auto sorting system they can disable it and do what has been done since bsbs were invented: manual sort. I'd like to see WO absorbing more qol mod ideas into its core functionality. Many of those mods are great ideas the WU development team can draw from to improve the game.

The thread overhaul is complete! After about 40 hours of work, along with numerous red bulls and some forum magic, the new thread should be a whole lot easier to read, make more sense, and be in general a lot more pleasing to read instead of a wall of text!

I would really like to see something similar to the bulk sorted mod from Wurm Unlimited, but it's implementation should not be so... choppy. The idea of shelves that accept certain QL is along the right track, but I'd like to see something truly inventive that makes sense and doesn't require player configuration to achieve the proper result. Also, shelves would make the interface harder to manage. Any ideas for ways to make this happen without just sorting by groups of 10QL and 1QL past 90?

For me its not what inspired me but who. The answer to this is and was from the very beginning of my wurm life Tich. From the moment I learned to dig and heard of legend of this fabled woman who carved the roads throughout the lands that I walked on, I was in awe. I spent my first year of wurm digging like a crazy person, I couldn't get enough of it at my own place or my brothers so I started to travel far and wide answering the call from anyone who needed help. I'd drop what I was doing to go to anyone who needed help in anything from simply being shown the basics of flatraising or needing help fixing a bump in a road through to large scale projects like a fortress or high wall. Helping to complete the great southern highway with Tich was a huge bump in the inspiration she gave me. When I started Epic it was to be my break from digging and I promised myself that I would do none. Seems that over the years I was there the seeds she planted in my brain lead to a lot of digging roads to help directionally challenged people find their ways places such as JKs bloody long road and the road for MR and JK to find the whitelight on old Elevation, then other roads on new Elevation and Desertion.

Family, friends, and purpose - these are among some of the most touching things we can have in life. I really appreciate and find inspiration in how much a player can truly find these very elements in this game. For those like myself with little or no surviving family, those living in a real-life setting that is prohibitive to their true desires in life, or even those with a real-life that's just fine but is well supplemented with the endless possibilities posed by being a part of Wurm, this is one of the few games I've found to really provide for anyone who has a wish. If you want family, friends, adventure, a castle overlooking the sea, a chance to become a game-world king or master craftsman - it doesn't matter - it's all available to you here if you work at it. To that end, I'd also like to extend some holiday season love and respect to one of those particular relationships I've come to really appreciate over my time in Wurm - the one and only Shydow. For those that know him, he is the epitome of a good friend, helpful community player, and much more. I don't have Facebook and wasn't aware of the contest for sharing funny stories, but I can tell you a few... oh like the time as newbs Shy so generously donated a mailbox to my cause which I then spent a week jealously guarding, pushing across Newspring, one action at a time, hiding in trees, waking in the night to log and check if someone was near my precious stone mail center! - Only to finally get it home to great personal joy and fanfare and hearing from another player that they would have just made one for me for a lil copper LOL Anyway, I really appreciate my bud Shy, his fairness despite trial and test, steadfastness as a player and game contributor, and much more. Friends like this are what it's really all about, so sincere thanks. Yes, stories like this are the hallmarks of the game, and can be the comical starts to priceless bonds and relationships sometimes even hard to find outside of the game. So, to wrap it up here, on this Thanksgiving Day and during this holiday season, cheers to the friends, family, and purpose we are privy to find in this life and our other life - WURM.

No matter how high your skill or tool quality is, you can still fail repeatedly on pruning a single vine, tree or hedge. Out of 788 starts to prune in one day, I failed to prune 278 times. Sometimes the RNG gets on a hot streak and it could take 10 attempts to prune a vine. 96 forestry here 90 ql sickle I do not understand the purpose of this, you can cut down tree's and hedges in never failing swings of the hatchet but can't prune a branch off in one go?

Creepy, sleeping with open eyes.... I think this must be a bug.
  26. 1 point
It's skill+10 for prune diff, which is pretty dumb, causes prune chance to drop off a cliff after 90 forestry, and i doubt many people grind forestry by pruning alone. I have a f2p alt with 20 forestry and a 95ql sickle coz he's better at pruning, coz logic. Maybe it was a good idea 10 years ago but it could definitely do with a change today.

Correct. Hmm... From what I remember currently it's impossible. There is assumption that cave tile must have any height, but I will lower the limit to 1 to make openings look as close as possible to how they should look like. (also gives me idea that I should implement the actual cave doors)

Not sure how difficult this will be to code but we can open and look at wagoneer items, so it would be great if we could drag clothing items into the slots to dress them up a little, like we can put barding on our horses. On a side note, please allow normal Wurmians the ability to make that Wagoneer bed...cool as !

Thank you everyone for your responses! And while I really appreciate your gracious invitation, Joelle, I'm afraid that I have already accepted the offer Alkhadias made and joined him at the Lunar Order Academy. Perhaps I will find my way to you for a visit eventually As of this point, I have a tiny 1x1 wooden hut on a village plot, along with a large cart that needs some improving before it can be of any use to me. Joining a village has definitely helped with getting started, and the people with the Lunar Order that I've met so far have all been really great! Premium is definitely not something I'm in a terrible rush to get at this point; there's no real value in it until I have my essential skills high enough that the limit on free accounts is a burden. In the mean time, I'm definitely just interested in learning how to take care of my toon and get by day to day. But after that I'll need to figure out what kind of job/s I might want my guy to start focusing on as a way of supporting my community and making a profit. Up to this point I've been wanting to figure out which jobs might be best for me to consider pursuing with the ultimate goal I had in mind, becoming a priest of Vynora. But thinking about it now, it might be better instead to figure out which kinds of jobs I most enjoy, and then choose which god I might want to be a priest of based on which meshes best with my day job lol. Knowing that farming isn't as hard to schedule as I originally thought is really useful, thanks Ayes. And thanks for providing some suggestions to consider, kochinac

I found a solution. i had an older installation from another game and the filepath in the registry was wrong. just edited it to the actual one and now i can start the game with the java control panel. to access the control panel start the javacpl and then click on general and then on show temporary internet files and then you got a list with your java aps.

+1 Shameless plug too for https://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/120253-bring-back-old-oleander-bushes/ and if there is not enough time to get new flowers out before Christmas, then perhaps have all crops just remain fully grown when they were supposed to turn to weeds, but they render zero crop. This means that crops turn into decorated (static) tiles like lawn, rendering no crop and no animal food, after they were supposed to turn to weeds (instead of turning to weeds). https://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/166360-crops-never-turn-to-weeds/

I think it would be cool to have a dirt path tile with worn down dirt in the center and and grass on either side to create a more rustic look. Something like the image below:

Our largest Xanadu deed is called Kalambaka - and sits under a steep mountain. Inspiration to build a medieval looking town came from the same inspiration (Kalambaka is the town under the cliffs of Meteoras).

Besides the incredible friends/community here, I draw my inspiration from mainly two sources in Wurm CELTIC INSPIRATION: I am proud to have Scotch/Irish lineage, and have always been obsessed with these cultures. My dream is to one day visit Scotland and Ireland, but until then I content myself with listening to nostalgic Celtic music, gazing at pictures of the Scottish Highlands and trying to recreate the untouched rustic beauty of those places here in Wurm. I was so excited a few years back to discover this game, which would allow me to act out medieval-era life, explore vast lands, roleplay a Celtic girl if i wished, and best of all create my own Celtic paradise My three deeds of "Loch Lomond", "Isle of Innisfree", and "Loch Caledonia" (named after real locations) were born from this fantasy (you can see that my inspiration is rustic, cozy, beautiful mountain/lake views). Since the Celtic culture/lifestyle has always centered around the land, so also do my deeds in their location and design. I prefer rolling hills and untouched slopes to harsh, flat, 'grazed over" megadeeds. (Here are some of the pictures of Scotland that inspire me most) https://imgur.com/a/dv7AaRM There are also beautiful Celtic songs about each of these real places, take a listen! Pictures of my deeds: Loch Lomond https://imgur.com/a/XhY7g9H Loch Caledonia https://imgur.com/a/w0WNdyg Isle of Innisfree https://imgur.com/a/BKHlGB2 **** I would be remiss if I didn't also mention the profound admiration and inspiration I have for "Glengarry" at R18, Pristine. It's rolling mossy hills, stone fences, and stunning views truly inspired my own deeds and aesthetics. (She really has the "rural pastures" look down!) **** Glengarry: https://imgur.com/a/MKsfueW Second Inspiration, My Best Friend Sidereal It was a fateful night, during my first year of Wurm, I was weary from setting up my deed Loch Lomond, patiently carving a hollow out of the mountainside to nestle into. I had heard of this place with an enchanted name, Glengarry, and decided to take a sail down to check it out. Little did I know that calling out to say hello to a name in local on the way, would change my Wurm life forever!! Since our first meeting that night, Sidereal has been my best friend, sister, confidant and co-adventurer! Oh the memories we have made and the hours spent chatting away, sharing our hearts, dreams and sorrows and laughing at her ridiculous puns There are too many wonderful things we have done to even name favorites here, but together we built the Isle of Innisfree deed, picked lingonberries on the top of the world, dragged vicious turtles and hell horses home as they nipped at our heels, and gone on crazy adventures .. .. . including retrieving my corpse from an ill-fated spot more than a few times! Here's to forever in Wurm, darling! Sidereal and Me Photobook: https://imgur.com/a/QUkzlZ4 I hope you enjoy, you can tell my attachment to Wurm is highly sentimental! Let me know if you want to come visit my rustic deeds

This idea is interesting to me. Would there be any benefit for the “Mentor” to link to their mentee? Or would the skill gain boost only be for the lesser skilled player? Would there be other tiers of mentoring, like at 50 skill you can mentor up to 30, at 70 to 50, 90 to 70, etc? Hmm. And also there’s the “Could it be abused?” argument, especially if there IS a benefit for the mentor. Interesting idea, nonetheless. I’m all for anything that promotes playing Wurm WITH other people, seems like everyone plays alone as it is now. We need to focus on community-oriented ideas like this!

Last time I checked the new BT is 33% damage at 10k, Frostbrand gives 30% with a 100 cast power. Other peoples and my main complaint with this NERF are as follows. Small weapons with BT have been the meta for years and thus many people including myself have trained those skills exclusively. I personally use small maul / staff and have high skills in those, this change will make both of those weapons so much worse than med maul/huge axe, it makes no sense to use them at all, making those weapons pretty much worthless in both pve and pvp. I looked through your math and unless some base damages have changed recently to small weapons, the damage is a lot less for frost brand small weapons in real world testing than your math shows. Right now with the existing BT an Addy Small Maul with BT is a fair bit (I would estimate 10-15% last time I did a spreadsheet on it) more damage than a glimmer med maul with frostbrand, however the investment\time required to replace a 10k BT weapon is significantly larger to offset it being better. I prefer balance and choice, with the current BT there is a choice, BT small maul v FB med maul is close enough for example that you can be successful with both, with the new BT there really isn't a choice, nobody in PVP is going to spend the hours it takes to level up a BT weapon, because even with its tiny damage increase its actually worse in pvp because a frostbrand weapon gives two wounds, To make BT worth using in Pvp it needs to be at least 10% more damage than frostbrand (ie 40% at 10k) to offset creating only one wound and the time investment required to get it. Also how about a dps increase for small weapons to compensate for this nerf so they are not 100% useless?
