    I met Tich by chance in my very early days as a Wurmian on Independence when it was the only PVE map, Tich spoke with me just like any other everyday player. It was only later I'd learned that Tich was a superstar who had made the very highway I had used to reach the South East area of Independence. It was quite a humble experience. Rest in Peace.

    Yet another problem caused by allowing Black Light/negative alignment priests, gods, and spells on Freedom. I feel like this isn't going to end anytime soon.

    Upon taking the map updating task, I've noticed quite a few deeds on the map that are no longer there. So after making the requested adjustments, I started updating them. One by one I've been trying to see if these deeds are still current. As you can understand this would take forever. This is where I need YOUR help. There are over 500 listed deeds on Xanadu currently. So I'm asking all people who have deeds on Xanadu to take a moment and look at the map http://wurmonlinemaps.com/xanadu if you see a deed that is no longer current please comment here, send me a PM, or message in discord (CrazyDad#4826). If you want your deed added or removed let me know also. If you need instructions on how to go about it, please ask me. It's my hope that even though Xan has the biggest map, that we can have the most up to date map as well.

    As it is now the inventory is a mess, as its all jumbled up on every relog. I sort mine exactly how i want it to be, and then on relog it's all messed up again and i have to redo it or live with the mess it creates. I want my backpack on top, then water skin on second row, then the groups, and finally my lose tools that's temporarily in the inventory and don't need a group, but as it is now that will only last per session. I would love if there was a possibility to add this to the game, there has to be a function that can support this sorting.

    Yeah! That's right! Stick it to those damned lazy people with heavy work commitments who use part of their salary to make up for lost gaming time! They don't bring in half the funds to CCAB compared to someone who grinds silver 12 hours a day to pay for everything and undercut CCAB here and there for personal cash!

    I think adding some items that require multiple (2? 3? 4?) skills to do it. So you might be able to build a siege weapon that requires high level blacksmithing, ropemaking, and carpentry to use. A single high skilled toon would be needed. It mixes up just being able to imp the same old items to X to X+1. Furthermore, this could be used to give some additional uses for lesser skills.

    A very simple system to implement and which would keep busy everybody 'forever' and make living in Wurm world meaningful could be as follows: - Reputation system with the King. - Allow every profession/crafter to carry all his best stuff to the King's shops in the capital in exchange for rep points (even better if no wagoneers allowed). For example: farmers could get rid of all the surplus crops, at the same time feeling they are doing sth meaningful. - According to Reputation level, you get a title related to the king (with some perks maybe) and/or, even better, a special item/station/whatever.. No need to be too flashy. For example, a small working station for that profession that would be getting better according to level. It does not look too difficult to put in place.

    BT working on bows is already a huge issue, especially when one combines a BT bow with fa/fb arrows. But at least BT has to actually be 'worked' for, which a majority of people probably do not want to be bothered to do it. If you can just simply throw a cast on a bow in minutes, then everyone will need it because it's so easy to do for the people in large kingdoms or with priests that have high channeling. End result is that it just increases the entry level to pvp even higher. But that's just the simplistic way of looking at it. Imagine people with LT bows, you are making the strong stronger. 10 chain/plate guys vs 10 drake/scale guys, don't think I need to say which are the newer weaker group and which are the stronger more experienced. If the 10 chain/plate guys are getting a drake/scale guy beat up and in danger of dying, the guy being beat up won't have to wait in danger for a lof cast to go off, they can just simply run away from the slower chain/plate guys and laugh as they sit in safety shooting the sitting ducks with a shortbow, getting free heals all the way back to full health. Or the guy running around wrecking horses with spears that gets banged up by aosp bardings, he can just run away and shoot horses that are too wounded to move fast to heal. Now imagine boat pvp, forget needing to cast off full heals rackin up that healing resistance, just shortbow the worst guy in the enemy boat and stay healed Its a can of worms that needs to be closed not opened more

    im only new 1yr plus . this lifestyle of zanadu suits me perfectly , everywere i go i have small conversations with people from all over who all seem to be doing what im here for enjoyment .i can understand why others come here to try get players to play other games because we have the right people .i love the thought that someone is out there carefully improving the game which brings me sanity and heaps of fun .i knew the first few days when i was helped from trouble this was going to be a awesome game hidden in the masses. ive met players who are very nice even thou i do not know them .the decent words and help they give to a stranger in this day n age is very cool wurm .i have to say the humour that comes from a simple chat conversation makes my night. funny as some of you . we do need a clean up crew of some sort a lot of stuff in waters and land around the place dumped .

    Really like this general idea, if I may say so. A mechanic that allows some players to learn skills that allow them and them alone to craft certain items would be fantastic. Certain items would be valuable because they actually are rare (uncommon) in the game. I'd hate to see these item recipes/crafting skills just come to a player randomly in a moment of inspiration though. For something like this to be truly valuable and the obtaining of them to have real game play significance, the chance to be inspired and receive the ability to craft any item of this nature should be tied to in game experience/play time. Suggestion would be to tie the chance of learning of such things to lore found in archeology, or the completion of missions, or special tomes, etc. Discovering and learning lore in the game would unlock and increase the chance that you may be "inspired" to learn the crafting of something new. Really like this idea as well. ~TH~

    We aren't so much worried about players stealing them. We just want them to be planted in a spot where everyone can use them, and know where to find them. Exactly where, lol.

    I suggest people read those "limitations" again. This rules out a lot of things but... Actually there is a way to easily "instance content" by creating a new server for it. In particular I am thinking in terms of a "Hunting Server" as has once again been brought to the forefront in the S&I section of the forums. There new mobs can be introduced that are more difficult to kill in various ways and also new item drops could be introduced on them as well with perhaps some enhanced effects on them. This is why an isolated server that contains these types of mobs is a good idea as well; because not everyone enjoys the combat aspect of game play. So this would keep these more "challenging" mobs that the elite fighters are so fond of away from the normal servers. Think of this Hunting Server as an equivalent in terms of rewards (drops) as the HOTA is on the Chaos server, only centered upon PVE combat with aggressive mobs. This is a nice idea too. We have had "Rares" for some years now but they have become almost commonplace, so some "moments of inspiration" that would add a new craftable item recipe bound to that individual character only would make the item very special. In a way this was already done with some new cooking recipes named to the individual creator but then anyone could create them afterwards which removed their special exclusivity of creation. Better that this be retained by that individual who could then offer it to other players. =Ayes=

    Without the addition of new interesting mid level non-unique creatures (rift boss or slightly harder) the end game in Wurm Online is playing on a PvP server and trying your wits at outsmarting or out-surviving other legitimate players, gms, devs, and of course the 'win at all cost' players that will use any means available, legal or not.

    Oh boy, you are a special little type of cowardly goblin, aren't you? ? (Not big enough or bright enough to be a full fledged troll). Can't face Chaos, so you use passive aggressive griefing to vent your tantrums on a bunch of Care Bear Freedom players? ? Baloo had her deed there first. Her, "deed vision," should count for more with the GMs but for some reason they rule on your side. (Favouritism or pity?) Mt Tundra, was called that years before you came along. Try a real PVP game such as EVE, I want your tears when you come crying back here. ?

    Has anyone thought of maybe changing tundra to allow spawns.. http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/glossary/gloss5/biome/tundra.html.. plenty of animals live on tundra in the real world, why not make it a bit more useful.

    this was intended to be in the original post giving a little history of my deed and festival So why name kappa? The name Kappa has a history though I don't know all of it in this game. It means a few things to me however, Kappa is a creature in another game i played before wurm called "Harvest Moon". In that game you give Kappa a cucumber it comes out and thanks you. Some say Kappa is a demon and I have had a few people tell me its a greek liter but to me, it's my wurm home I bought from another player who later became a great friend. I have become good friends with all my neighbors. Why a Lunar Festival? In real life, I love the moon ever since I was a little girl. in Wurm there are few moons each one special in its own right. In Harvest Moon, there are seasonal festivals every month and one of my favorites was the lunar festival. So instead of linking it with Halloween, or Christmas, and since it happens in november, in the USA we have Thanksgiving, but all those holidays get a lot of stuff for them anyway. My dear friend Leander and i were brainstorming one night and he said something about the moon or create something individual and this what we got. i love too. and hope you all love it too.

    Those 2 dueling ring boundary markers are 8 years old so it was probably from when I was marking off the original HoTS dueling area before moving it north of The Shroud. I have removed the errant boundary markers. It's not impossible there are more in that area, but they are just remnants and not related to The Knights of Seris.

    Hi Jake. Look closely at this map, most of this area is already tundra (there is more of it, as this is older dump). Also it's almost the same area as original tundra. I have recently asked you about this, you said something completely opposite to what you say now. You asked for perimeter around The Jungle - we included it. You asked about distance from your sandstone highway and we did that as well. I've explicitly asked you if you have any other issue with restoring tundra to original area. You said you don't have any deeds there and it's ok. There was plenty of time since then, to refine your mind should you forget about something. If I can't trust what you say, then we have a problem. So far you seem to be the only one having issue with this project. What gives you the right to shove us out to Xanadu and tell us what to do? I could say similar things to you. If you want to control the whole server as if this were open PvP, go to Chaos. As we already had an agreement, I consider it still valid. Restoring tundra is a lot of work, it's already ongoing. If you try to grief it, I will put a griefing and harassment case against you. So whatever you are planning, you better be open about it before it gets to fists.

    The subtle joys of Wurm are the things that fill my heart. They're the things that keep me coming back again and again. To name a few: Atmospheric modeling: the wind and the rain drive the motion of the clouds and it feels more realistic than other games I've played. Sometimes I'll find that I'd planned on mining underground only to have the dawn arrive with a bright cool sky and no wind. Who wants to be underground on a beautiful day like that? And I'll wind up changing my plans for the evening just based on the weather? Yes. The ambient sounds - the croak of the frogs on the shore, the wind across the steppes and the chimes at night, the birdsong in the morning, the sound of a gale wind through the trees. The heavens - the fact that we have a planetary system, stars that rotate around us. Some nights I just love looking up at the night sky before I turn in myself. I will never be able to own a second home, and Wurm becomes that second home for me. I still have years of plans for the old deed, and yet when it sometimes feels like too much work... Getting out of the house and taking a long ride about the island. Sometimes even packing a tent and food for a much longer adventure. Finding parts of the island that one still has never laid eyes on even after all these years. And finally: Sunsets. I must have seen this sunset hundreds of times from the balcony of the smithy. It never gets old. It's what brought me back after a long absence and part of what keeps me here.

    Something that popped into my head the other day was how cool it would be for the game to introduce "Spirit Steeds" for deed owners. They could have the same rendering as the Spirit Templar (I tried to mimic this in Photoshop to give some idea) The purpose of Spirit Steeds: To ease the life of a deed owner to move around on their deed by having a horse that is at their beck and call at any time without having to fetch it from a stable, without worrying about it wandering off etc. I find that half the time I can't be bothered to use my saddled horses because it's own chore to go get them (I have a very big deed) To give a perk to people who invest in having a deed As a status symbol for deed owners, especially if they have villagers on their deed Aids in fighting mobs alongside spirit templars, however is much weaker and does not give a significant contribution to damage as not to negate the purpose of hiring spirit templars Suggested functionality of Spirit Steeds: Like the spirit templars, spirit steeds roam around the deed. To use the steed, be located anywhere on your deed tiles and give the command "/whistle". The steed will gallop to you quickly from which ever place it was roaming around at (Funner to have it run over instead of instantly poofing, just to give a cooler sense of immersion) The steed will stand next to you for up to one minute, after which it will wander off again if you do not interact with it To interact with it, right click and choose "Ride". You can ride around your deed like you would a normal high speed horse, even if you don't have enough body control. As long as you are owner of the deed, you can ride it The spirit steed does not use a bridle or saddle. It cannot be kept "in place" with a saddle, however it can be "led" without the need of a rope. Simply right click and "lead" to keep it with you while on foot When led, the steed will not follow you outside the boundaries of the deed and you will lose lead once you cross that threshold Once dismounting or un-leading, the spirit steed will stand in place for 1 minute, after which it will run off again You can only have 1 steed per deed, however this steed will progress as your deed progresses The spirit steed will give off the occasional ghostly neigh in the distance Conditions for getting a Spirit Steed: Spirit steeds are not bought or hired like Spirit templars, instead they are "gifted" to deeds that are older than X amount of months/years (perhaps for when a deed turns 1 year old?) The idea is to encourage players to keep deeds going From that point on, the older the deed, the faster the Spirit steed gets - but of course keeping to a reasonable speed that does not become unmanageable Inspiration source: Once again, Ultima Online was partly the inspiration for this.
