    I have been working as a night grocery stocker for the last bit. This is the first time ever I have been been told to leave early. I was told by my foreman that I can clock out; unlock a door and he will come around in a few mins and re-lock it (the store is closed for 5hrs at night). So happily I grabbed my things since normally I work overtime. So clicking my heels I walk to the first set of double doors which are unlocked and they automatically open but the 2nd set were locked. I unlock them and they did not automatically open. Taking from what I know about Wurm all I need to do is back up a few steps, walk forward and they will open... WRONG. I repeat the process for about 30secs moving back farther back and walking forward. I see out of the corner of my eye 2 of my coworkers standing there with their heads tilted confused. They make a sliding glass door motion so I grab the door and slide it open and it WORKED! I turned around, smiled and gave a thumbs up. At least working nights I can make the excuse of we work like dogs all week and that it is 2am and my brain wasn't working XD. o7, Launsel~

    I apsolutly disagree, the main reason i play Wurm is that unlike other games it doesn't have classes and you are not limited by number of professions you can take.Priests already ruin that concept quite a bit. Not sure i would be playing it anymore with classes tbh

    I'm going to -1 this for three big reasons: 1. This doesn't bring in new players. New players have no idea about skill curves, how hard it is to grind a skill, and mostly don't even grasp the concept of a need for specialization (of their own talents) in order to succeed. I didn't realize how grindy this game was until my blacksmithing was in the 30's, and I had played for several weeks. When I started, I played for about a month before I realized there was no WAY I was going to be a master of these 130+ skills. I doubt your average casual player will play as much as I did when I first started. 2. If you allow these "specializations" then every single priest out there is going to "specialize" in channeling. 3. This benefits grinders, not new players. Those of us that have been around long enough to know the precise science behind skill grinding will run circles around any new player. I already run circles around new players, which is why they aren't sticking around.

    This is a client mod that will help you create awesome looking videos in Wurm. This is an Alpha release. Real life dealt some bad cards this way and this code's been sitting on my harddisk 99% done for a few months now. I have not halted development of this, merely paused it for a bit. That said, as you may or may not know, I tend to keep my code updated to the best of my ability -- so please post feedback (positive feedback is nice too). I cannot promise I will be able to reply quickly, but I will eventually. All I really ask from you is please share your videos, tips, tricks (at least here) and encourage others to create awesome looking Wurm videos so we can get more people hooked on Wurm. My intention at some point was to create a real cinematic story that would showcase a lot of the features, did not happen, sorry. I'll instead just give you a very, very simple example that sat on the disk. This took about a minute and five mouse clicks in-game to create...     I suggest to change the behaviour of loading to cages to the same as we currently have when hitching to vehicles - a "random" animal would get loaded into the cage instead of the error message stating you lead too many creatures. This would be a nice QoL change when loading 4 horses for server crossing...

    Would it be too "out there", if activated support beam would show if the mine floor is flat or not, same as activated pickaxe? Having this paranoia while reinforcing... and always have to use the pickaxe to double check ? And while we're at it, concrete could/should show the flatness for the whole tile as well. Currently it only shows for borders.

    Greetings! I'd like to put forward a few simple suggestion that would have significant applications in various settings... 1) Allow for the creation of kegs. Kegs would be a special barrel that would have a “price per drink” feature added to it. Crafting recipe for this would simply be to add an item to the game: a "tap". A tap can be inserted into a small or large barrel and a keg of that size is created. 2) Add a price per serving option to a larder, thus allowing it to be set to “eat from only” or perhaps allow taking of individually prepared servings at a price the owner could set. No new items or crafting processes necessary. With these two things added to the game, food and drink could be easily sold on a per serving basis. It would also be easy to build a diverse and fully functioning Tavern in a community, which is the ultimate desire fueling this suggestion. This could bring a whole new dynamic to the idea of a public tavern placed in a large community. Other option is the idea of a new npc barkeep that has mechanics that allow for the bending of food and drink on a per serving scale. The keg and larder modification suggestion use graphics and mechanics that already exist it the game (except for the need for a “tap” for kegs, and would therefore be simpler to implement (I would think). The npc option would require more work... Humbly submitted... ~TH~

    I think it would be a nice addition to enable that armour stands, bow racks, polearm racks and weapon stands be lockable. Also a stand for shields to store would be awesome.

    tl;dr pls I remember first venturing out and becoming a follower and priest my first time. It was a special journey. A milestone. I met people along the way and was warned of the possibilities that I'd be sought after by those who'd wish me harm. There aren't many other games, if any, that I can relate this experience to. That being said, you could make that first journey as a new player, so long as you still had to visit the (un)holiest of (un)holies on Elevation to become a priest. I sure would love to be able to become a follower of a god, just by using a player-made altar on a home server.

    Not sure if there's a setting I'm missing, or some technical reason why this is so small, but the underground render distance is massively smaller than above ground - something like 15 tiles. When you're outside this distance, you just see solid black, or occasionally the "black layer" clipping into the rock walls. Is there any way this could be increased to give a better experience underground in large areas?

    It would be better if they just gave everyone a flat 50% increase to skillgain if you want to fix QoL issues and add in some catch up mechanics.

    Probably a broken mod on their server. Tell the admins to update 3D-items mod from bdew if they are using this mod. Could be the issue

Green hatchling slaying will be a public kill, gives green drake hide and acid potion bloods, bone or tome if it drops will be donated to poor cymmy, who has unfortunately lost three arms and a leg in the accidents . Anything else will be rolled off, you can have your own green dragon hatchling throw cushion. Meeting place is on the north coast, around 16b, there's an arched wooden bridge called Draw bridge, location will be from there with about 15-30 before slaying I might not be there, so get revenge for me too!     I'd rather allow anyone to be priests, and then add a bunch of priest skills. The true class distinction in Wurm is the time require to level up a skill; opportunity cost is Wurm's strength. I see no need for hard, static classes. So, if you wanted to learn all priest and crafting skills, you could do so, but it would take a very long time.

    Possible issues (some of the TODOs I wanted to fix before throwing this out there) On some clients you will have a bit of jerkiness at some movement speeds (tweak and see what works for you) When focusing on objects nearby you can get some rather fast camera moves if you traverse over the same point you are focusing on (avoid this by focusing in same direction but at a bit larger distance). If I recall correctly I tested some hacks here just before I paused development -- they may or may not be working Following a moving object needs to be smarter (right now it's just a simple combination of two linear interpolations if I recall) Before I paused development I had a TODO saying this: "Huh. It seems the renderer crashes after we've run a scene a dozen times or so... Is this reproducible?". This is unconfirmed. Following objects underground will not work Due to a limitation in Wurm, "moving/animating time" slowly will never look great with the shadows. Never seen it mid-scene myself, but changing time on the client may be overridden by server at any point (you can probably use the timelock mod to prevent this) Traversing too large distances will get you kicked off server -- should limit creator from sillinesses like this (but for now, I advice restraint) Probably a lot of debug messages in log and the Cinematics tab A conceptually large server component is not completed (not needed to run or use this) Need player/creature name in object notes (my VM crashed, cannot check the Wurm source ... for now) (no idea what I meant with this one) When you first enter the game, automatic activation of Cinematics tab does not visually indicate that it's currently the selected tab. A few of the examples are incomplete and/or missing - ...and a whole heap of features that are mostly extending on already implemented functionality

    Sometimes you make a few simple meals using a variety of veggie types, for example chopped bear + chopped corn, chopped bear + potato. Both come out with the same name, but give different affinities. I think this mod would be very helpful, as it would tell you which one gave you the affinity.

    you could actually shoot a trebuchet high up and run under the projectile and hit yourself but i wouldnt know anything about that... [15:59:06] You hit himself extremely hard in the right shoulder and hurt it.

    Another idea would be to create a new NPC character- a barkeep. Players would buy a contract for their own barkeep, just as they currently do a private merchant contract. Barrels of drink could be dropped off by the owner for sale on a drink by drink basis. It would only be placed in doors though, and a bar would have to be crafted where the barkeep could be placed. Once the barkeep has been placed, a bar and other appropriate aesthetic items would gradually be rendered around it.

    Just put 2 med rugs 10 tiles away from each other, not too hard when coupled with the wurm assistant timers. And on that note i'm going to Beegee's for a shake, hope i don't get a brain-freeze, makes me shiver...
