    First of all , if you fit those same requirements feel free to apply to join our Deliverance hunting team. There is no chance in hell we would join a group with such attitude and behaviour problems we have experienced being on this server. In a slightly more sober mood, lets go through what actually happened that night YOU stole the dragon from us shall we. Zoranahs birthday , a dragon spawns, we go look for it as a birthday treat and find it. While penning several people show up saying its property of the Deli team so I decide to run with it to pen it. In the mean time Zoranah receives a barrage of disgusting abuse and obscenity from one of her so called friends and neighbour resulting in her being extremely upset. 20 mins into penning you and your group show up saying you have gm support and steal the dragon from me. Is that you offering help and knowledge with uniques? Did anyone apologise to Zoranah? No. If you think I will forget that night, ever, you're mistaken. My vision is totally to make more unique slayings available to the public, I don't care about the money I care about haters hating after someone goes through a lot of effort making it available for them in the first place.

    Born on Deli, 5 deeds on deli across 3yrs, I did not qualify for this super elite group either despite living on a friends deed at that time. Those in the magic club found it great, those not, found it rather unwelcoming Someone had a fall from grace due to this stubborness and militant running of deli. I'm all too happy to see these things availed to the public when finder is that generous. I once found a forest giant, deeded, and actively trapping, before even stating intent, i had same thing happen to me on another server told this is the server's unique, and was pulled away from me This sense of entitlement i've not ever understood. Oblivionreaver and Lord Louis are to be commended for their skill in tracking, finding, trapping uniques as well as the amount of time they choose to share them with all of us. There is money out of their pocket few think about as they enjoy the spoils as well. The dragon drama always surrounds motivations of all this could me mine and you can't have. What makes wurm a fun game beyond the mechanics is the sense of community..what you hear over and over again how helpful, sharing, giving it is over other games. Lets keep this aspect alive and well, as many of you have, by showing thanks and appreciation when someone avails an opportunity we'd not otherwise have..even if you didn't get everything you wanted. I never knew that type of childhood, so it's helped in my expectations in gaming as well. I'd like to see this across many other servers esp the few out there with closed slaying policies

    Hello everybody, Fairly new to the community (playing for like a week). Was happy to tag along with my neighbor Smack and his friend Vixen for this. It was a ton of fun and the epitome of what I believe an MMO should be. Anyhow I thought I'd share some screenshots of the event and maybe a few from my first journey cross server.     If you've got a problem with me lets hear it, stop being so passive aggressive and name dropping me in a thread about a dragon that 1. I didn't hunt. 2. I didn't pen and 3. I didn't attend. I don't generally hunt on deli but maybe i'll move there so i can come take your uniques and give you an actual reason to talk this much ######.

    Irony here is that quite a few of the players involved in this slaying were the same players that hold private slayings where most people are not invited. Even having this public should be good enough. Imo you don't owe anyone an explanation.

    Actually it's worded that only fighters will get included in loot rolling... I don't see the issue here. If you fight, you get a chance, if you didn't and stood afk like an alt, you don't. Fair to me. The fact that the event was opened to the community is fantastic. I got 0.04kg scale, yes it's terrible, but the point was social bonding. I'm ecstatic I was there, was more fun then when I've gone to smaller more private slayings. Kudos to the OP for being kind enough to prioritize socialization over money. Thanks for the awesome event

    And oddly even after that the word "steal" is being thrown around. Guess one wrong person can always find a friend, prolly more fun to beat that drum with some company too. This wasn't the place or time to air it out, so moviiiing along. Not counting the rival hunting party, all of the comments we got were VERY positive and to end it on a good note-Thank you all for the patience and consideration (twas our first event afterall) thanks everyone that showed up,participated and had fun with us ! ?

    I've been playing for about a year now so here's my 2i. First: The selling/transferring of accounts does need to end. The accounts that get to high levels and get passed around causing the value of high end goods to crater from the fact that the people who buy them seek to get a "return on investment" by churning out a bunch of items and proceeding to flood the market. Second: There needs to be a way of being able to "dump" various amounts of raw materials for a "separate (and untradable) currency" like someone else posted. My idea for this is a quest that you have to pick-up at like a message board; "The king needs [boards/bricks/other raw materials (QL don't matter for this stuff) or weapons/armor/tools/equipment (stuff like saddles, backpacks, etc) of a minimum QL] and is willing to give X [currency name]". This currency could be used to buy things like buffs, karma, sleep bonus (not powders) or even unique things (how about adding the chance to buy another mirror to change your appearance?) that can only be obtained from this method. Having this for the individual as well as for the players settlement (which instead of karma might give towards the settlement bonuses or could be used to add a few coins to the deeds coffer.) would give players incentive to produce/buy what the mission requires. This would get players to convert the extra junk they have lying around into something that they might want.

    As of the last update, I see these odd squares and triangles of different textures around my roads. It seems to be on tiles that are half paved.

    I don't know if other countires celebrate this or anything similar (forgive my Murican-self) but I wanted to take the time to wish everyone a Happy Father's Day. I think we, in America at least, take the day for granted. We see it as a time to kick-back and drink beer, although we try to do that every holiday, am I right? Let's not forget, we are the shapers of our children's future. We set the example for their attitudes, their hobbies, their likes and dislikes, and their view of what a family is. We are their role models. Just as Mom's do everyday, we have the responsibility to do everything we can for our children to ensure they grow up on the right path to being a good and kind human being. So absolutely, kick-back and enjoy the day with your family, you've earned it. But also, think back on this last year and work harder to do better. You'll see the reward in years to come as your kids grow up and make you proud. Happy Father's Day Wurmians!

    So the question I have in regards to this is how or why anyone should be able to prove this to a Dev/GM. You told us that you weren't removing previously completed goals... So it's not like I decided to take a screenshot of them, because (Yes, this is absolutely MY fault here, should NOT have done this!) I actually decided to trust the words put in the newsletter saying that you wouldn't be touching completed goals. My error! Because doesn't seem this was correct. I pretty much know for a fact that I have had at least one of my diamond goals completed for months prior to this update. Now ALL of the Gold+ goals are back, and none of my previously completed goals (that again, have been completed for months) are present. I am basically told to start over. It's just incredibly frustrating to actually have been close to completing this at one point, and to have even been working on preparations for completing the other goals... and now suddenly be told to start over from basically scratch, while 20+ people a day complete the game cause you made their lives easier by RNG. Yet another (fairly trivial, I'd say) reason I heavily dislike this game and am constantly on the look for something else.

    I'd love to see more diversity in hedge models. For example, rose hedges with rose flowers intertwined or thorn looking visually thorny. Thoughts?

    It really stiffles the enjoyment of bow hunting when arrows need repaired after every mob.After 3 mobs there already hitting 7 to 10 damage and start breaking.I suggest that arrows take less damage if they hit there intended target.

    Real Death is what you click to become a Champion of your Deity; are the rest of you followers/priests of a black light deity? It only works at the light/altar that your deity belongs to.

    All fighters get loot? If you want to be on roll you hang about, next time you organise a slaying and try sort out who is fighters who is not from alts and whatever else for 120 people, see how you fair. You got a slaying you got scale, don't be so ungrateful for the sake of maybe i could won some crap. Thanks for the appreciation, hope the next public dragon slaying goes well for you.

    Thanks the updates and fixes, and your continued efforts to improve Wurm. ? I will be looking forward to clearing some 'unknowns' from my ignore list for sure. I don't actually understand why anchors can now be made from all metals. Sort of making lead less useful right? But maybe is for the best. idk. I will sort of miss the newbie search for local lead for an anchor for their new 10.0001 rowboat.

    (So, nearly another year has gone by, and it has been slow going. Although the pictures may not seem like it, a lot of progress has been made on the deed. The beach has FINALLY been completed, along with the edges of the deed slope. The only area that needs to be completed now is the area by the mountain for our main house. For those of you who remember our old home, it will look the same, with some major additions around and behind it. The whole thing will overlook the rest of the deed for an amazing view. Our Cats have their own "Cat Houses" Our new Beach, complete with pet whale! The altars still show where the old temple used to stand. The nice, sloping south hillside, and the former location of my mine.... A different view of the beach. Hopefully, our next update will have the finished model of our home, workshops, and warehouse.     Vynora overlooks the land, full image here Dear Wurmians Things have been a little quiet on the news front, and I'm incredibly sorry, and to make it up to you all, I've gone combing through buddas desk, and aside from all the empty bourbon bottles, I found some really interesting things, so lets see it! Personal goals For a long time now personal goals have been a feature that can be quite frustrating to some, with hard to attain goals vs simply getting lucky with RNG. We outlined our desires to improve this system but also explained that a large danger is how the personal goals system draws the goals, without actually saving them. This meant that any changes to achievements could lead to everyone having their goals re-rolled, causing countless headaches. With a lot of careful work, and repeated testing, we're now able to address this issue, and will be removing some of the more tricky diamond personal goals. If you previously had one of these the system will now generate a new achievement of a equal tier. The following personal goals will be removed: Create fantastic item Conquer the world Rule a kingdom Become a demigod Become an arch mage Become a planeswalker Become a shadowmage Become a magician Mine a fantastic gem In the long term, we are working towards a complete overhaul of the way personal goals work, and will be removing the current system in its entirety. If you wish to receive the winner title and rewards for completing your personal goals, we'd advise working towards that, as the opportunity may be gone later. THINGS! ON TABLES! Long long long desired, (and even appearing as a mod) is the ability to place things on tables and shelves. We've wanted this as both players and devs for a long time now, and we're really proud to be able to unveil it today! It's functionality is directly tied with placing objects, so to put an item on a table, simply right click > place. then as you hover the green outline over the table, it will display on the table. Moving the table around (or even picking it up) will carry the object with it. The list of items that will be able to have items placed on it are the following: square table round table dining table bed bench (stone) bedside table open fireplace canopy bed tripod table high bookshelf low bookshelf round marble table rectangular marble table We'll also be introducing three new items: Empty low shelf Empty high shelf Bar top This feature has huge design impact, and will really open up possibilities about showing off and decorating. We're extremely excited to see it finally come, and hope you are too. Once it's launched, we'll be running a room designing competition, so think about what you'd like to do with your decorations! Introducing the content creation club Valrei Entertainment Network! Last news we had a small competition for suggestions to title our new streamer support program, and there were a ton of great ones, we eventually settled on the Valrei Entertainment Network by CIRAY, as the name. We've had a few applicants and will be reviewing them all over the coming week or so, expect an announcement in relation to it soon! Animal crates A little feature no one really knew about that we haven't told anyone about is animal crates! (just kidding, we don't have amnesia) And we're readying up for some public testing with them over this coming weekend and maybe a little next week. Still just a rat in a cage We'll be looking to check server crossings mostly, as our wonderful tester Alectrys has been hard at work breaking them in every other way. We'll have a thread up in public testing detailing everything we're looking for, so I hope you're keen for them! Now, I know you're all wondering "How long until this comes in?" and I have good news! These features should be in with the next update! As for the hard date on that it's not yet firm, but we are planning for this and more in time for wurms 12th anniversary, so buckle up! There's a lot to get ready for, from building tables, to working out which personal goals you want to achieve, to comforting your animals before moving them to the next server, so you all get busy and make sure to come on to test!     First thing Wurm needs is a proper business manager who has the ability to: Successfully manage an advertising budget & expand worldwide recognition, how many minecraft players that are becoming adults now would love to discover another game Notch worked on? I know when I mention Notch made the game I play to minecraft players they immediately want to know more. Enhance the player experience by making both new and existing players feel welcome and valued as opposed to treating them/us with this endless snark that we have been forced to endure since Rolf disappeared Realize that they are in the entertainment business and people are paying to have fun, make them happy - don't tell them to be happy Devise fun incentives for players to invite new players to the game and shine a positive light Maintain a high standard of professionalism, fairness, and consistency Give the game a positive direction and inspire creative thought and fun problem solving If Wurm had 10,000 players most of the MMO problems people complain about would diminish. Pvp servers would be thriving and kingdoms would once again be the proper size, not 5 buddies with 25 alts to game the system only to complain that its too hard to go against a proper kingdom of 100+. The economy would be booming with all strata of players buying, selling and trading as opposed to this tiny pond where everyone focuses on the best of the best endgame wares. We probably still have enough open land to accommodate 10,000 when you consider how large and empty Independence and Xanadu are, not to mention the smaller servers that usually have 10-30 players on at any given time. Rolf, if you are reading this, we have tried the nepotism and bury your head in the sand routine long enough, its time to find a professional to take Wurm to the next level. Just think of how much better your vacations will be if you have 4 times as many Wurmians.

    Affliction is considered to not be a reputation controlled homeserver. HotS are supposed to be able to raid other HotS on Affliction without any reputation system preventions or penalties. This also means that we are not subject to the protection of the Disruptive Players rule, and that if people use alts in our kingdom on our homeserver it's allowed, and our only option is then to force them out ourselves. However, Affliction in fact actually IS a reputation controlled homeserver. This is probably a bug, because the GMs do not consider it to be one. We still suffer reputation penalties for unlawful actions, and can reach negative reputation, at which point we will suffer 5x skill loss if we die. This means that the reputation system is preventing us from dealing with nuisances on our homeserver, even though it is required for us to deal with them ourselves, since we are not protected by the Disruptive Players rule. [13:20:09] Your reputation is -13. Please either fix this so that we do not suffer reputation loss for unlawful actions on Affliction, or consider it a reputation controlled homeserver (as it currently actually is) so that we can be protected by the Disruptive Players rule. Examples of specific actions that can cause reputation loss on Affliction are catapulting other players or guards.

    EDIT: Many of the bugs in this thread are still not fixed after all these years since the introduction of the new permission system. I will post the confirmed-as-still-broken bugs immediately below. I will leave the old post as part of this thread, and will adjust the bugs reported in it by crossing out things that are fixed, changing text to red for things that are confirmed as still broken, and leaving as black text things that we are unsure of. Bugs confirmed to still exist since this thread was originally made: Leading on enemy deeds Problem: We cannot lead any untamed horses on enemy deeds, even as unlawful or without Templars, which means we can not raid horses to use for PvP or raiding homeservers How it used to work: You could lead horses on enemy deeds at any time, even if the templar was alive and the permission was not allowed, because why would you abide by an enemy's laws? A solution: Either have enemy deed laws not apply to players not of their kingdom, or require a templar to be alive to enforce the laws. In the past laws didn't take effect unless a templar was alive, which meant you could kill a deeds Templars to break laws as any kingdom, but this is no longer the case, making raiding often either much more difficult or even impossible in certain situations if you are same kingdom Note: Horses can currently be lead by using a bind to do the action, but unless you have LEAD bound to a key, there is no way to lead horses, and lead does not appear in the right-click menu. Unable to take from bsbs in houses Problem: Bsbs/fsbs in houses often will not let you take from them (even without a lock), as when you try to drag their contents to your inventory it responds "You must use steal to do that.", but there is no way to use steal on the contents of a bsb. How it used to work: You would be able to take from bsbs inside houses A solution: Allow taking from bsbs inside houses, and if the house owner wants permission control or security over their bsb, they should attach a lock, rather than having 100% secure moonmetal/drake/etc storage by default/bug. Unable to steal items from houses you lockpick into Problem: You cannot use steal inside of houses you lockpick into, even off deed. Steal is only possible if at least one of the house's walls are destroyed, so that the permissions do not take effect. Right now on PVP you get the message "Stealing is punishable by the death penalty in these lands and you decide not to." even if you are on unlawful. How it used to work: You could steal from inside of undamaged houses by right clicking and using the steal option. A solution: Allow stealing from inside of houses on PVP by going unlawful. Non-tame/non-branded horses not moving after relogging Problem: When you crash or have to relog and you are on a non-tamed/non-branded mount while in combat you can't move unless you dismount the horse. How it used to work: Never happened prior to the perm system change. When relogging on a horse it worked as usual. A solution: Allow any ridden mount to move after relogging. This is most likely a bug with the permissions system seeing you don't personally "own" that mount. Note: This often also happens if you get relogged by the game when the embark bug happens. If it happens from the embark bug, disembarking the horse will also bug you and cause you to relog, and then the next time you embark on the horse it will be unable to move. If the embark bug happens to you while on an enemy deed, it will make you momentarily leave the world, and when it reconnects you, you end up outside the enemy deed. This could easily be abused in PVP by repeatedly embarking and disembarking your horse until the embark bug happens, to get teleported outside the enemy deed, and escape your attackers. Can't drag same-kingdom locked boats Problem: You cannot drag locked boats, even if they aren't moored. How it used to work: You could drag same kingdom locked boats unless they were moored. A solution: If a boat isn't moored and doesn't have a captain, we should be able to drag it. If you want to prevent a boat from being dragged, you should have to moor it. Receive hunted status for attempting actions in lawful Problem: Now receive hunted status for attempting actions you aren't allowed to do, even though it prevents you from actually doing the action, and even though you are in lawful mode. How it used to work: If you were in lawful mode it would prevent you from doing things you weren't allowed to, and it would not penalize you since it prevented you from doing the action. A solution: Do not penalize/set players hunted for actions they attempt while in lawful mode. Note: An example of something that causes this is using a lead bind on a deed that disallows leading, while in Lawful. It will fail to lead the horse, but you will become hunted anyways, despite being in Lawful. Old post below: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ever since the new permission system was added, many things that were normally possible on the PvP cluster Epic became impossible. Many of these problems seem to be unintended bugs, and numerous complaints have been raised about them, but for the most part they have still not been fixed. This thread is for compiling a list of all of the permissions issues that epic has experienced since the addition of the new permission system, and ways that game mechanics have changed for the worse or become impossible under the new system as opposed to the old. As you post your discovered permissions bugs and complaints, I will add them to this post. Format your replies like Problem: How it used to work: A solution: Before you get into reading these, here are the most important issues that would clear up a lot of these problems: LAWS SHOULD NOT BE UPHELD UNLESS THERE IS A LIVING TEMPLAR TO ENFORCE THEM. PERMISSIONS SHOULD NOT BE UPHELD UNLESS THERE IS A LOCK ATTACHED. THE OPTION TO BREAK THE LAW MUST BE AVAILABLE. New permission system issues: Laws are upheld without live templars Problem: Deed laws are enforced even if the deed hired no templars, or even if all of the templars are dead. This has been very abusable by unjustly making actions impossible, and has allowed enemies to use deeds on homeservers in order to prevent their boats from being picked by defenders there. How it used to work: Living templars were required for deed laws to be enforced, and to break the law you had to kill templars before doing illegal actions, or go unlawful and break the law, thus putting you on KOS. If the deed had no templars, then you could do whatever you wanted. A Solution: Make deed laws take no effect on pvp servers unless there is a living templar. Allow players the option to break the laws, with the consequence that the templars will attack them and KOS them on that deed. Unlocked unowned vehicles can't be boarded on deeds Problem: You cannot embark on an unlocked vehicle on a deed if it doesn't have you in its permissions, even if its unlocked, you are unlawful and the deed has no templar How it used to work: Unlocked vehicles were always usable by anyone, because a lock should be required to enforce their permissions. This allowed for picking and taking vehicles, which now became impossible. A solution: Don't enforce vehicle permissions unless it has a lock, and dont enforce deed permissions unless it has a live templar. Can't remove locks Problem: If you are not the owner of something (chest, cart, boat, bsb, etc), you cannot remove the lock with the key anymore. The detail of an object having an imaginary owner preventing you from removing a lock with the key is immersion breaking, especially when you can already access it's contents by opening it while holding the key. You are also prevented from sailing any boat you find the key to, you may only access the hold. How it used to work: If you found the keys to something you could use them to remove the lock without needing to pick it. People often held onto high ql keys they found and over time would figure out what they went to. You could also board and sail ships as long as you held the key. A solution: Enable removing locks from objects by using the key on PvP servers Unable to take from bsbs in houses Problem: Bsbs/fsbs in houses often will not let you take from them (even without a lock), as when you try to drag their contents to your inventory it responds "You must use steal to do that.", but there is no way to use steal on the contents of a bsb. How it used to work: You would be able to take from bsbs inside houses A solution: Allow taking from bsbs inside houses, and if the house owner wants permission control or security over their bsb, they should attach a lock, rather than having 100% secure moonmetal/drake/etc storage by default/bug. Unable to steal items from houses you lockpick into Problem: You cannot use steal inside of houses you lockpick into, even off deed. Steal is only possible if at least one of the house's walls are destroyed, so that the permissions do not take effect. Right now on PVP you get the message "Stealing is punishable by the death penalty in these lands and you decide not to." even if you are on unlawful. How it used to work: You could steal from inside of undamaged houses by right clicking and using the steal option. A solution: Allow stealing from inside of houses on PVP by going unlawful. Can't target same kingdom templars Problem: You can't target same kingdom templars in order to kill them and break laws. You first have to be KOS'ed somehow in order to autoretaliate to kill them, during which it won't let you change targets to a different templar, it only lets you kill the one that attacked you first, and then the next one to hit you after its dead you then autoretaliate to, etc. Not even the mayor can target his own deed's templars. How it used to work: You could go unlawful in order to target and kill same kingdom templars, in order to break same kingdom deed laws. A solution: You should be able to target same kingdom templars by going unlawful. Can't lockpick same kingdom doors Problem: You cannot lockpick doors of houses owned by a player in the same kingdom as you on elevation. How it used to work: You could lockpick any door or gate by going unlawful. A solution: Allow lockpicking same kingdom doors/gates by going unlawful. Note: Fixed Non-tame/non-branded horses not moving after relogging Problem: When you crash or have to relog and you are on a non-tamed/non-branded mount while in combat you can't move unless you dismount the horse. How it used to work: Never happened prior to the perm system change. When relogging on a horse it worked as usual. A solution: Allow any ridden mount to move after relogging. This is most likely a bug with the permissions system seeing you don't personally "own" that mount. Note: This often also happens if you get relogged by the game when the embark bug happens. If it happens from the embark bug, disembarking the horse will also bug you and cause you to relog, and then the next time you embark on the horse it will be unable to move. If the embark bug happens to you while on an enemy deed, it will make you momentarily leave the world, and when it reconnects you, you end up outside the enemy deed. This could easily be abused in PVP by repeatedly embarking and disembarking your horse until the embark bug happens, to get teleported outside the enemy deed, and escape your attackers. Can't drag same-kingdom locked boats Problem: You cannot drag locked boats, even if they aren't moored. How it used to work: You could drag same kingdom locked boats unless they were moored. A solution: If a boat isn't moored and doesn't have a captain, we should be able to drag it. If you want to prevent a boat from being dragged, you should have to moor it. Alliance/Citizen permissions on vehicles don't work off deed Problem: Added alliance Command, Passenger, Open, and Drag permissions to a sailboat. Nobody in my alliance was able to use it. Had to add them individually by name. The boat was off-deed at the time and later was able to allow Alliance/Citizens to board when the boat was on a deeded tile. How it used to work: Alliance/Citizen permissions applied to members of your alliance, allowing them to use your vehicles whether they were on deed at the time or not. A solution: Allow the Alliance/Citizen allow permissions to work off deed. We need to be able to board on our allies' boats for PvP without having to stop before a fight and manually add each individual person, wasting lots of time. Cannot load unowned planted objects Problem: Cannot load planted objects you do not own, even if you are enemy. How it used to work: You could take planted objects by loading them anytime if you were enemy, or when the laws allowed you/went unlawful as same kingdom. A solution: Allow loading of planted objects if enemy, or subject to the laws/lawfulness if same kingdom. Receive hunted status for attempting actions in lawful Problem: Now receive hunted status for attempting actions you aren't allowed to do, even though it prevents you from actually doing the action, and even though you are in lawful mode. How it used to work: If you were in lawful mode it would prevent you from doing things you weren't allowed to, and it would not penalize you since it prevented you from doing the action. A solution: Do not penalize/set players hunted for actions they attempt while in lawful mode. Alliance/Citizens of "" deed permissions don't work right on buildings Problem: If you have alliance/citizen permission to access a building, then log off until you leave the world and log back into that building, it ejects you from the building as if you don't have permission to it, and on a PvP server that means falling out of your longhouses, down off of your dirtwalls, to splat on the ground and die hundreds of slope below your deed. How it used to work: You were not ejected from buildings if you had permission on them. A solution: Do not eject players from buildings upon logging in if they have Alliance/Village enter permission. Old permissions issues (not from the new permission system) that don't belong on a PvP server: Can't sacrifice on enemy deeds (or friendly ones where you're KOS'ed) Problem: You cannot sacrifice anything (items or animals) on an enemy deed. There isn't really a reason we shouldn't be able to do this unless the templars are disallowing it. A solution: Allow sacrificing on enemy deeds as long as the templars are dead.
