    Better looking alternative for steppe-like tile (no bushes and trees). Not replacement but something similar. Drastically reduced tree and bushes spawn and spread Any grass tile without tree or bush for longer then x days can became meadow It means that if you put effort once and maintain area for some time, cutting all trees and bushes, you can have meadow, where trees and bushes will have reduced spawn rate, thus don't need to maintain it constantly. Meadow won't push trees back. It means that if you plant a tree on it, it will last. Also for bushes. Also maybe an option for increased non-aggressive animals spawn?

    I wanted to thank you all for everything you do for this great game called Wurm Online. I'm sure you don't hear this enough either! Thank you to the Developers, so far 2018 has been amazing with a surge of content, bug fixes, and QoL improvements to the game. I cannot wait to see the new UI and future improvements to the game! I also want to thank the Staff team for doing a excellent job dealing with player issues, bugs, etc. I'm sure a lot of you probably don't hear this often but it means a lot to us and we thank you for your volunteer efforts & contribution to the game thank you. We players can be very hard to deal with now and then, and it might annoy you that we never stop asking for more content, or complain. However like you, we are just as passionate about the game - so I thank you for the patience and understanding, it means a lot. Thank You

    I agree. That's the next part of making wurm so easy. Build something once, and do with it whatever you want forever. Back then, game required from us way more thinking, planning, working. Now something goes wrong, and you can write to devs and "fix the game". If there was new feature, every interested person would start working on new stuff. Now even that's too much for them.

    I guess the reason it was reported in the Server Bugs section of forums is because people would like this bug brought to attention and fixed. There may be workarounds to it but it should not be necessary for people to constantly anticipate possible bugs and accept it as part of the game mechanics when in fact it is a bug.

    What the heck is star citizen? I am the original Eyerobot, I gained most of my skills from playing the game normally, Not focusing on making money. I did a huge amount of work on large projects such as canals, and tunnels ect. And didn't really push my individual skills. I guess I figured if the game paid for itself, That was enough. Also skilling can push you to burn out real quick. As for getting banned, It happened to me twice while I was eyerobot. The first time I was banned and unbanned without ever getting a reason for it. The second time I went absolutely crazy on the staff members, And they lifted it immediately, Something about they banned the wrong account. Neither time was I ever reimbursed my playtime that I lost. But months later the top dev appeared, And asked me about it, And then I was reimbursed. Which was really nice. I do remember Ayes from Golden Valley. There are a few other people still around that I knew back then too. Those were good times, Everything was a mystery. Leaving home was suicide, And rats used to kick the crap out of me, hehe. That character actually started a good while before Golden Valley was created, But I fell down a crack in the ground and lost all my keys, So I stopped playing for about a year I guess. I want to say the name of that server was jenn kellon, Can't really remember though. What I've been doing since wurm is database developing for another game, Private server of course. But I'm considering getting back into wurm, Only to catch up with old friends, While I appreciate all we can do in wurm, The game itself is severely outdated. Anyway, I look forward to seeing all of you ingame. And don't let that toon get a bad rep, He's a nice guy.

    Looks like I'm the only one who wanted to man those things themselves...oh well. Appearantly we could have automatic turrets or they behave like guard towers. Obviously, guard tower style function would make them pretty much just like guard towers, which is good, because it's not really a big concern to include. It would also make them pretty much just like guard towers, which is bad. Archery towers would be quicker to deal damage to the mobs, but cannot tank for you, that's about the difference there is and we might aswell not even bother. I'd prefer it to be automatic on-deed defense, but that needs to have some maintenance factor, I agree with that. But coupling this with a templar...kind of the same deal as above. "Why though?" I suggest giving fletching some love here and making the archery tower a container. Put arrows in it to make it function, akin to a larder needing snowballs. Every hit an archery tower performs "uses" an arrow the same way a player would if they conscientiously picked up after themselves; it uses the arrow with least damage, arrow QL influences damage (The towers QL could act in lieu of the bows QL), the arrow takes damage as though they were shot (but remain in the towers inventory), and have a chance to break. Damage taken and chance to break should probably be increased compared to arrows used by a player to compensate for the tower being automated, though I'm not sure how much.

    My favourite horse was killed: There is a common bug when you enter a mine and animal(s) hitched to vehicles or on lead pop out on the surface visually. Today in a tunnel this glitch happened to my horse while was hitched to a wagon and passing under a tile where is lava on the surface the lava killed the horse, I've found the corpse on the lava tile outside. There is no lava in the mine the specific tile is a tunnel.

    Could someone take a few minutes out of their very busy Dev schedule and actually make the in game map "K" look like the letter k and not another h. This has been int he game forever and people still make the mistake of saying they are at h when they mean k on the map because there is no difference in the appearance to most people.     Hello, just a quick suggestion about dual wielding. As it stands, your off-hand swings about four times as slow as your primary hand. Why don't we either.... A. Increase off-hand swing timer to half that of the typical swing timer for that weapon type, keeping damage at 100% across both weapons. B. Increase off-hand swing timer to that of typical swing timer for that weapon type, but hit 50% as hard as typical for that weapon. I think it either of these solutions would work. You could sacrifice your defense for a bit more of an offense without being completely pointless. Thoughts?

It's been a huge two weeks, with the metal crafting update, metal colours, AND dye-able armour! These are some extremely long awaited systems to be introduced, and I'm thrilled you're all enjoying them so much, from sails to scale, tools to, uh... everything else, these updates have everyone tinkering away and it's awesome to see. While it is something that's been long awaited and requested, it's by no means the only things on yours and our lists, and we'll be working on those systems and getting them out as soon as possible. So we'll be mostly recapping the past few updates in this weeks news, considering major content has dropped we'll be tidying up a bit (And releasing WU beta, I promise!) and taking our next steps too. But first... Patch Notes Mac client issues As many mac users know, we've been having ongoing issues with the client running on mac, and we believe we have found the cause! We had hoped to have the fix available for todays update, but unfortunately some last minute errors delayed it, but we will have this out as soon as possible for you all!. One thing that will not be possible on the mac client will be the accessing the settings via ingame. It's a part of why the issues were happening, so you will need to adjust settings prior to launching the game. That said, we are working on a system that eliminates the issue for good, but it's slightly more long term. We do appreciate your patience in this, and hopefully the new client will be out before any updates. The importance of bugs (or at least reporting them!) In all software forms, bugs creep in from time to time, and it's always a developers goal to reduce their impact and eliminate them, and this is no different for Wurm. We've seen a few circumstances where people have complained about a bug in a random thread, or other channel (IRC, Discord, In game) and question why it hasn't been fixed, and one reason for that may be that that's not where they are reported! We have a dedicated forum section for bug reports for many reasons: 1) It keeps them all in the one location. 2) It allows us to address each bug individually. 3) It allows users to check if the bug has already been reported. 4) It allows us to update the status or confirm bugs being eliminated. These are all extremely important factors, as our dev team monitors them specifically, checking for issues arising and adding them to our internal tracker. Now I know some bugs have been around since the dawn of time, (and rumour has it that Wurm was created in order to put those bugs somewhere), but it does not mean that they are not ever going to be fixed or we don't care. Reasons that would slow us down in addressing bugs are: 1) Not enough information in the bug report 2) No way to reproduce the bug and identify why it happens 3) Low impact, and it simply gets pushed down the list as higher impact bugs take priority. What you can do to help with these is simple, when reporting a bug, make sure to do it in the right place, and make sure to include as much information as you can, and please do not use the in game support system to report bugs, if a bug is sensitive in nature, or potentially abuse-able then a support ticket is best used, but if you use the support system to report other bugs, do not take offence if a staff member directs you to the forum, because that is the place to report them It is also very important that you report the bug on the forum yourself, instead of having a friend or staff member report it for you. The issue may be happening to you specifically, or the server you are on, the colour socks you are wearing or even what you had for dinner. The key here is that if a dev needs further information, the person who experienced the issue is the one they need to reach out to, not a friend of the friend who saw it or the staff member who heard about it second hand. If you still don't feel like reporting a bug, then there's no grounds to complain about bugs going unfixed, it's a group effort from players and developers, and we're shifting some attention to focusing on long-standing and important bugs over the next few weeks and months, so please, help us as much as you can, so the only bugs in Wurm are the six legged kind. Dye-able armour Hidden in a link in a previous Valrei International, dye-able armour is here! The types of armour that can be dyed are: Shields Helms and hats Chain mail Plate armour White cloth Leather Studded Leather Drake Hide Dragon Scale Here's a sample of some awesome dye jobs, from gorgeous to "your clown car uber is here sir" There's a lot to style yourself with now, so make sure to get out there and try it out, and to encourage that, we'll be giving away something shiny! Competition time! We'll be giving a rare long sword, and shield, made from the metal of the winners choice with 90 enchants to the best coloured armour picture, judged by the dev team. We'll be judging on colour, how it matches your armour and equipment, and how much it makes Saroman groans when he sees it. We'll be announcing the winner in the next Valrei International, so submit your fashion here: WU Beta Yes, we know it's late, with the metals and armour dyeing out, we'll be shifting all focus to getting that beta out for server admins and modders to break, it's been delayed a little longer to include the metal types and catch all that stuff, there's a lot in it and I know we've been rather slow in getting it out, but it's worth the wait, I promise! The next projects There are some projects in the works, and we'll be pushing forward with previously mentioned ones as well, the UI update being a large one, as well as animal crates and other things hinted at here and there. I for one am hoping it's more unicorns, I'm a big fan of unicorns and always ask for them! So get dressed up, slap on your most eye bleeding dye, and take pictures for us to mock enjoy!     When transferring items from an opened satchel (so the satchel window, not in inventory) selecting multiple items at once and dragging and dropping into a bulk container only drops one item in. Not sure if this is intended, but since it can be done with the bulk container opened I would think not. And it's annoying for sorting things by ql like picked herbs or sprouts for example. Tested this method on both BSB and FSB related things. Only tested with a satchel.

    Confirmed! Just cooked a pizza, all used ingredients i chopped in my inventory (they were not fresh), i got 7h buff from a ql 50.71, 10.60kg pizza. Test to see if all fsbs are bugged or just some is pending, I will create a new fsb, chop the things and put them into the fsb before cooking, see what i get. Now, if a gm would acknowledge the bug and try to fix it, that would be great

    Wurm can be tough, and the start up set of tools, armor, and weapons is somewhat limiting. Dying can leave players with nothing. On Independence, if you can find the chests, you can replace a lot of those items for the next month, or until supplies dwindle. There are two chests in Independence at about K 15 on the road NW from the Howl, about 30 tiles east of the sea. In them you will find tools that are not in your start up set, some tools that are, armor and weapons you don't get at start up, meditation rugs, skillets, and a few fun surprises. Most of the items are 20 to 30 QL, but some are more than that, and all of them can be improved. The kit you get when you start the game can't be improved, so when it takes damage, it can be repaired, but it will go down in Quality. Everything in these chests can be improved, so when your skill is high enough, you can improve these items higher than they are now. Please only take what you need and leave some for other players.

    Also quite easy to pull horses into gates and fences above the mine doors when they glitch out from mine. Can be tricky to almost impossible to recover them without bashing off walls. Please fix this!

    Would be cool if we could use a wagoner and the highway system to auto drive our cart/wagon to connected deeds. Of course this would only work if the deed had a wagoner but it would be one more neat feature of this.

    +1 to adding a button to the Quickbar. Calling for guards to help is one thing all new players have to do. While I have it bound to Ctrl+z and would like that option to remain, I agree with OP that forcing a brand new player to open up Console gives the game an unfinished feeling. +1 I'd like to be able to toggle the items in the Quickbar. A couple I don't use at all (Looking at you Lawful button).

    Not enough people play this game at the moment; for another server as much as I'd like a hunting server one day though. It would be nice if GMs started cleaning up areas to make it look more natural for new players though. The Devs could even create a reward system, that encouraged players too assist, would help. Some parts of the server are super ugly with odd teraforming and pavement that doesn't decay. Problem is newer players lack the skill and the knowledge that veteran players possess to fix the land, I also blame the tutorial for not explaining this at all. Another problem that is prevelant in Wurm Online is the lack of good Samaritans, that clean up abandon deeds. I'm glad they made removing hedges easy, so that helps! A lot of people just like the feeling of deeding in a forest, not many places like this anymore. Like Finndar said, Indy has vast open lands in the north, the south is pretty full and so is central though, depends on what you're looking for. Xanadu would also be a good choice. This is North Indy, a picture of my current project. Just have to work at it if you want a clean area.
