As things stand now, there's little reason to pursue beverages, whether as a producer or consumer. It's far easier to level hot food cooking and far quicker to make high-quality affinity food which will give far more total affinity time than, say, a barrel full of beer. My suggestion is simple: separate temporary food affinities from temporary beverage affinities (meaning, for example, you can get a 10% buff to mining skill-gain from your custom affinity pizza and another 10% buff if you find a beverage that gives the same affinity, for a total of 20%). This will take beverages out of competition with pizzas, etc. – where they are hopelessly outmatched – and create a gameplay reason to make the extra effort that brewing, distilling, and so on requires.

It's the same as an epic player having freedom only goals. NONE of the mountain goals are achievable on epic, not even the highest point being a massive pillar spawned by bugged code in scenario endings thousands of slope high. Climbed it with sandwiches and goatshape for nothing >.>

We are feeling the lack of spice in Wurm. I'd like to see: - peppercorns, ground to pepper - sweet bell peppers - peppercorns + sweet bell peppers = hot peppers - hot peppers can be used as an ingredient I'm thinking of tacos, hot sauce, 5-alarm chili - mustard plant - ground mustard seeds + vinegar = mustard - mustard + cucumbers = relish - mustard and relish as options for things like hot dogs EDIT: mustard + <other healing cover material> = healing cover

OK Mr Smarty-pants. If you want to be all literal...let me put this another way. I joined the game back when Pristine was it's own solo server, that wasn't connected to any other server, much less PvP-Chaos. I was given goals there which were impossible to complete as I literally could not access PvP at the time (Unless you want to count being able to go through a portal to epic, which it stated quite clearly via in-game stuff that nothing you do on PvE transfers..this would seemingly have included personal goals.). Just because we can now access the PvP server, doesn't mean it made sense then. Going to a server that is PvE only should have given personal goals that were actually do-able on PvE. So I essentially started out with broken goals. Why are you talking down to me as though you think my game-time is less valuable than yours because you PvP? For reference : "[05:25:44] You entered through the portal to Wurm on Luck day, week 4 of the Snake's starfall, 1036. That's 1565 days, 21 hours and 14 minutes ago." "[05:25:44] You have played 261 days, 13 hours and 28 minutes." "[05:25:44] You have been premium a total of 29 months since Dec 2013." It is rather broken that there are aspects of this game that I literally cannot complete because they chose to poorly design something. Just because you disagree that it's broken, doesn't mean it ain't broke. 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' is the mentality you folks are approaching this with...and it's certainly very broken. There's whole goals that just can't even be completed. (As evidenced by multiple comments in this thread.) Saying 'Well, you just don't wants to do eet' because I won't go participate in your killing spree of PvP and lose all my hard work doesn't mean I should be forced to do something that has no purpose to me. They should have code split PvP off PvE long ago, but they won't because there are still die hards over there hoping to snag more PvE players into their rodeo, just like you. We don't want to play with you over there, and attempting to force us with coding isn't going to achieve it either...even if you get all uppity about it. The people in this thread are asking for the ability to actually complete their personal goals...some of them want to acquire something. (I personally could care less, because no game items/title/etc is ever worth a crud to me/value-wise. I wrote those personal goals off a long time ago and didn't even look at them and just did what I wanted to do, when I wanted to do it. Is that really what you want new folks to the game to do? Just look at the goals they get and be like 'Whatever...')

Sorry guys this mod got put a bit on my backburner while i was busy with other projects but i'll get back to it soon(tm). The name issue is known and will be fixed in next update. And i'll try to reproduce the guards not moving thing but i haven't managed to get it to happen so far. If you have any suspicions as to when or how it's happening let me know.

That would make me sad. Rares and affinities can be "earned" through repeated effort and luck, just like top of the line 100+ enchants. Rares and affinities can also be had with almost no effort, also like 100+ enchants. That's the nature of RNG. Even so, I see no reason why RNG rewards shouldn't be sellable, especially when people can spend a lot of time to get them.

Actually, a wurm month has 28 days, and an account gets deleted if not logging in for 84 days, unless it was premium at least once. While this is unfortunate, no items can be recovered from a deleted account, either from inventory or bank. Keep in mind that nowadays there is a 2s premium purchase option for going premium for the first time, that should make things much easier if you want to dedicate a character to storage purposes.

Maximillian's Exp Calc! The calc uses skill logs to calculate Exp per hour, Total Exp gained, Ticks per hour and total ticks in every skill you use. This was made for windows and it's been tested and working on: Works in Win 8 Pro 64 bit Works in Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit Works in Win XP Pro 32 bit with Service pack 3. Works on Windows XP mode (Virtual PC - 7 Ult) with access to the player folder while wurm runs in 7 Ult. If anyone has Linux please give it a try with wine or some similar program. Download here: http://www.filedropper.com/expcalc All you need to do is unzip the calc into your player folder: Then when you run the calc you'll be asked to enter your player name: Then just unpause and start getting some skill gains: Update v1.1: I just added support for the test server and should have fixed any flickering if anyone was having some. If you want to use it for a test server account just add ; after your type in your name (ex. Maximillian;). It's not tested but should work fine. Update v1.2: Added support for daily log files so it'll work with monthly and daily now. This feature happen automaticly. Update v1.3: Fixed all the flickering some people were having and also fixed a issue with some OS from other countries using 0,00 versus 0.00 in there skill logs.

How do you expect positive change if no one speaks up? Hardly anyone in this community does, either they're passive or afraid to damage reputation from posting, who knows? I'm not afraid to post suggestions or advice. There was never any slight intended, quit reading my posts viciously and literal. I want betterment for this game, I'd love to see woad planters, docks, machinery, chicken coops, and more. Will it ever be added? Likely not. This game is old, i'm not sure why we get so much dye stuff but nothing new to obtain dye from... Thanks for the post.

I'm "not interested" in paying someone for lots of things, but since I don't want to make them, I do. Why should some people's decision that some skills aren't worth their coin decide how the game is played? I hate farming, so I forage/botanize, but I'm not telling the devs we need to get rid of farming, or make my skills go faster so it's fair just to me. If I want higher QL veggies or whatever, I buy it from someone else (and yes, there are sellers with high QL forage/bot herbs. They advertise.).

The problem lies with the goals that cannot be achieved, or that can be achieved with a really high amount of money. If you're an Epic player and you have a goal "Climb a mountain" all you have to do is enter the portal to Xanadu or whatever, get a guide, im sure somebody will help you out it's freedom people are nice, and you will get your Goal done in one day. ONE DAY. Compare that to the "Diabolist" goal that i have which everyone says it's literally impossible to get. Compare that to Archemage which requires insane amounts of money. Compare that to creating a fantastic item which is 100% pure RNG and chances are it's not going to EVER happen. Goals should not be Random. Everyone should have the same goals in my opinion. It has to be extremely hard, like it has to make you SUFFER to complete them all. But it has to be achievable . Right now, it isn't.

Have you tried it? Mikael got it on Falgorn, which by the way, was a pretty terrible account. Its not impossible, and much much easier than creating a fantastic item, or making 5000 liters of wine. So it is very much possible. There is a difference between "Not being able to do it" and "not being willing to do it". Personal goals are intended to make people try different things. They should not be created to accomodate your preferences. Just because you don't want to do something or don't like it, it doesn't mean its broken. coming from the person who knows everything about pvp without ever setting a foot there. That's rich.

He has a answer for everything, kind of pointless trying to debate with him. Lets face it though, the current system is basically a half baked potato without any toppings. The system does not favor PVE, even though that's the majority of paying customers. The PvP side of things of Wurm is dead, the real pvpers have moved on from the game, a change in design is needed now. Why keep a broken system which favors whales, no one is giving tomes out for free - please don't say otherwise, you're grasping at straws. You might as well paint a sign saying, burn money here and Win!

This suggestion revolves around the mobs movement/spawn problems we've had on the servers for a long time. They've tried the 'Have them go to a lower slope' thing and it led to them sitting on coasts in massive herds/getting stuck there. They've tried a few other things. I'd love to see them finally come off the mountains, especially since I live with a few server height mountains by me. The downside is, that I only have a very small valley in by me and would mean I'd almost never get anything. (I don't anyway, so it's kinda moot at this point.) I'm also on the coast surrounded by water on x3 sides, and never ever see anything in the water at all on Xanadu. I haven't seen a single water mob down here since I moved in almost 2 years ago. So yeah, they still need to fix these issues. Get them off the mountains, get the water mobs moving around to where they are properly populating the server. Don't let them go run up a mountain in fear from us. (I don't even bother chasing them anymore when I see it happen unless it's something I really need...) The new system of tagging tiles with threat level numbers should basically create a 'wall' of impenetrable numbers where they couldn't even go up mountains in theory...but the downside to this would be that if they perceive something down below as more threatening, they'd pass over it, and start climbing again...and would never be able to pass back unless something was up above/on the other side threatening them. It essentially creates another problem... So yeah +1 to having them fall and die on high slopes. I'd be fine with the server forcing a lot of animal deaths if it instead forced respawns/repopulation of the servers. Then the big batches at the tops of mountains would eventually wittle down and you'd end up with a small herd on a plateau...so someone living up top could manage survival also.

About a week or so ago I went with my friend to Serenity where we made two new accounts to check out a spot. We were thinking of moving in to Serenity, and wanted to see where to first. We found two huge axes and used them both to keep ourselves "safe". After several hours of running all over and fighting what we could to stay alive, we ended up with these stats: [02:41:41] Fighting increased by 0.1171 to 1.1171 <-- first fight tick [03:58:53] Fighting increased by 0.1024 to 2.2300 <-- Last fight tick [03:58:53] Huge axe increased by 0.1522 to 9.6870 [03:58:53] Axes increased by 0.1020 to 6.3462 [03:58:53] Normal fighting increased by 0.0722 to 9.1772 Don't you think there's anything wrong with this picture? Some skill gain choice examples: [02:49:57] Fighting increased by 0.0143 to 1.1314 [03:03:49] Fighting increased by 0.0112 to 1.3680 [03:10:13] Fighting increased by 0.0146 to 1.3825 [03:28:48] Fighting increased by 0.0148 to 1.5097 [03:29:26] Fighting increased by 0.0153 to 1.5250 Personally I think this is too low for a brand new character, and if this is what players have to put up with on Epic right off the bat, I belive is very counter intuitive with the idea of making players level faster so they can jump into PVP. Just thought I'd drop it here. Retro twisted my arm so I'd post it >_>

HUGE +1 to a method of selling/trading affinities but I see one issue with the method of removing it. If I had a "Place holder" alt to hold an affinity, would I still get the 1/500 chance thing to get an affinity with the affinity role happens, rather than the 1/1000 (I forgot the exact numbers) as if its a second affinity. Anywho, Along with what Etherdrifter said, People sometimes get affinities they don't want. If its something like weaponsmithing on a person who was just making a bunch of arrowheads (is that possible? not sure but imagine it is) and the person does not want the affinity, its kinda lame to force it to stay on that person. Maybe the person doesn't care about the 10% bonus or the skill in general. Maybe they are just a fletcher. Maybe a person is already 90+ and satisfied with their skill and would consider selling the affinity. If you get an affinity you want that is great. If you don't get one you want then its just there, but it would be great if you found somebody who would purchase it from you.

I would be perfectly fine if rares could no longer be created. (Sure, you can still turn tools rare by improving them). Enchants are an every day occurence, so you're comparing apples to oranges there.

Also with sorcery titles it is even harder as it is not easy to find what is needed for archmage etc... it is not simply grabbing any tomes until you reach the required amount.

So I looked at the forum to find anything about saddlebags and indeed the community has quite a bit about wanting it. So, I will not go into detail about it other than... Saddlebags would be a great addition to wurm! Seriously. Now onto the Small Carts. "But wait Enigma... There are small carts." Yep, I think it would be a nice addition to the game to have the ability to hitch one horse to the cart. it makes sense to me considering that is what people do with horses. They hitch them to stuff they would rather not pull on their own.Of course you would still have to lead it. The other thing that would be a nice addition is the ability to load a single Large Crate or two Small Crates in the Small cart. I cannot count the number of times where I needed to carry just one or two crates somewhere or needed a crate in a location where horses are unable to go. Hitching up a large cart for one crate just seems... excessive to me. In these instances I am forced to spend a large amount of time pushing or pulling it to the location. Even if the ability to hitch is not going to fly, loading into a small cart would be awesome. Well theres my 2 cents worth of Saddlebags and Small Carts!

Just because someone is staff it doesnt mean they are in some kind of ridiculous plot to get better quality pixels than the pixels you get. If you stopped for a moment and thought about it you would realize that: - Both Gary and Sme have been playing Epic since forever. - They both have been constantly doing missions, for years. - Their activity on Epic has allowed them both to get the Key and ascend to demigods. - Since doing missions grants you tomes, they have amassed a pretty dumb quantity of them in comparison to the rest of Wurm. - They have been dedicated in their pursuit of their personal goals and achieved what they wanted. I know of at least 3 other people from that list who spent a very long time doing their goals. And they have completed the goals on their mains. Thats not including Sme and Gary. These people are not staff, or associated with CCAB in any way, shape or form. Are goals easy to get? Not always. Are some bugged and should be fixed? Definetely. Should the system be addressed and balanced? You got it. But being Staff has nothing to do with the fact they "Win" the game. You could go to Epic and help win scenarios and get tomes and maybe in a few years time you can finish that Archemage achievement you desperately crave. You choose not to, and thats fine, but it doesnt mean that the fact someome else did it must have been the fact they are staff. Thats pretty naive. Put your tin foil hat back on before Staff can read your mind and ban you before you post something damaging. Its the only way to stay safe.

computer? I reccomended that the map you made could also have annotations which you have in your ingame map Basically it could be 1- ingame map without anything, 2 - ingame map with alliance annotations, 3 - ingame map with village annotations. All can be copied from what you see when you open map ingame. Should not be that hard to copy that window for the creation moment and put it on tapestry (IMO - not a game dev so could be wrong)

8/18/2017 Update: Per Jackjones: There are a decent amount of changes that I wanted to highlight. We have a new look and feel. While still an Open Layers framework map, the client-side code was entirely re-written in Angular and Material Design. This is going to make maintaining the code so much more user friendly. (ASIDE: I will never write another line of JavaScript code.. EVER!) A giant change we made was to switch the vector layer from a heavily customized and kludgey SVG layer, to native Open Layer vector layers which are rendered as HTML canvas elements. Our performance just jumped exponentially, and now we have true coordinate fidelity. We can now introduce as many new vector layers as we see fit. New is this release is... Bridges! Soon enough we are going to implement Landmark layer which will include Guard Towers, Bodies of Water, maybe some Epic stuff. Also, the source code is now available online at https://github.com/WefNET/wurmonlinemaps-ng. We now have a header and some new markers: The yellow hamburger menu in the header opens an options panel on the left: Clicking the map icon in the upper right hand corner brings up a color customizer (thanks, Legios for the ideas): Also, the map now has hot keys: C - Cycles the map raster layers (all 6 including last November's layers) D - Toggles deeds S - Toggles starter deeds G - Toggles the grid B - Toggles bridges T - Toggles Canals / Tunnels There's probably more I can't remember.. But, it's ready!!:
