And weirdly most of those community projects you mentionned were driven by me to some extent. Sorry, nope, i'm not the only one that need to be appealed to... i only do most of the paperwork. /me want to hire a full time secretary... no pay though. The trouble was more laying in the fact some people did nohing, didn't participate in deed costs or casts costs or any costs at all... and ended up with a full reward for free. Those who did the less were of course unhappy... some throw a tantrum, to mention only one Quasiwud (it's important for the later part). I got tired of that ###### and decided to start fresh and most of the people followed through. The new system is not perfect BUT allows everyone who participate to leave with something, which is better than someone leaving with everything AND the costs are paid by the group and not a few individuals. Sorry dude, but no, I asked quasiwud to stop cutting the trees next to my deeds, not trader deeds, main alliance deeds used by our alliance members... his answer was : "no, you had oaks here, so i'm making it my limit". So what you are saying is a lie, fed to you by him or invented by yourself. I didn't had my alliance put tickets in, everyone who had concerns about the giant forest creeping toward their deeds did. The GMs allowed Quasiwud to plant up to 20 tiles of oaks around his deeds. He then abused that decision by planting more deeds and kept planting trees. Expanding the many deeds he had planted to lock me in. Alright, fair game, he managed to abuse the GMs faith in him and their ruling and by doing so drive 8 or so players off the game. Just check on the previous pictures and map dump the scale of that insanity. As for the canal, No, it was not built as a retaliation, it was built on the same ground of those things you mentionned earlier : "If you live on deli, you are welcomed to just about all the parties that are thrown, from making canals for public use". It was built as far as possible from Quasiwud deed (which he then expanded to prevent the canal) and with as little impact on the environement. Same thing, you can see it from the map dump, we used concrete to raise the rock layer to prevent a massive gash in the land and keep the area exactly as it was. Now to speak of retaliation, Quasiwud expanded his deed to prevent the canal from being dredged... because he was apparently afraid we were going to landlock him (like really, who have been griefing who so far?!) then decided to create his own open air canal through the oak mess he created. you can see easily the start of that canal on the latest map dump... project that was stop by the GMs due to the lack of good reasons to do so, seeing we had finished the echo / nightmare canal already. So, this is where you are starting to be directly involved and are making a fool out of yourself. The deed name "intransigent" (or a failure to write it properly) means that Quasiwud refused to compromise or to abandon an often extreme position or attitude (gotta love the merriam webster). So here, you are supporting not only the griefing action of Quasiwud in term of forest according to the whole deed it or loose it... where the only chessboard actions taken were to let the GMs sort this out as peacefully as possible... but you also accepted the fact a griefing deed meant to lock me in was made for you and you didn't question that at all or tried to have it removed. Knowing that I always have been helpfull towards you (imps, preming up toons for your sermons and so on) and you could have easilly used my own tunnel that is no less than 10 tiles from that deed border and going straight to your mountain. If by entrance you means a reinforce tunnel going through my perimeter ... hrm... who said something about canal griefing?! nvm... lets move along. As for the forum mailing list, it's a ###### pita which require to manually add all the players... and like you said, you were gone for a while. Helllllloooooooooo... it's a hatchling, they drop hide. no scale. And if you want to link chats, here one of your own. So, sorry, but no... we have around 26 people on our Discord channel (yes, we improved our technology), so it's not an elitist, exclusive group... but that kind of reaction or bad mouthing of a group you want to join again is already starting on the wrong foot. This remains a community minded group... more than ever, we had 4 more people join us and more will probably come in too. We don't ask to like each others, heck, some of our members can't see each others... but at least the backstabbing happens on chaos. Something I cannot personally stand is taking hostile actions against others members or being supportive of said actions. The fact those actions were directed toward me rather than another member didn't changed a thing. Aligned yourself with someone who swore to destroy us by all possible means was obviously not going in your favor. Specially when you try to hide between half assed rules, switch the conversation direction or plainly stop talking and go on the forum to cry a river. That being said, you are saving us the time to statute on your situation and wish you the best, no hard feelings involved. *** One post is better than 20. The trouble of the oak forest area is the complete change in the spawns, making that area virtually useless and 'owned' by Quasiwud. The fact this happened after said unique hunt fallout and directly toward my deeds despite the many time the GMs asked him to stop (and our attempts to replant) should be proof enough of griefing. Matter of the past now, just remember that if you screw people around, they might not want to bend the knee to you and your supporters.

Did something for my deed that I've dreamt of doing ever since first starting the game: making a pylon. It was utter HORROR to work on alone, but in the end I finally finished it. Took weeks and weeks and weeks though and needless to say, I didn't get through it without doing other stuff at the same time hehe. Would have died of boredom otherwise. But now seeing it standing proudly and magnificently, it does make it all worth it! Edit: Oh and here's some useful information for anyone planning to make one themselves at some point: Upon starting the pylon and seeing the "unfinished" product, lay it on the ground and you can see a "footprint" of which direction it will be in. This is the time to decide the direction, because after it's completed, you will not be able to rotate it anymore! You WILL be able to push and pull it though! So you don't have to stress about getting the SPOT right, only the DIRECTION. Then, something I didn't know before making it, is that you don't have to waste your high level stone to make stone slabs, save your high level stuff for the stone bricks. You see stone slabs can be IMPROVED! I never knew that before.

A large part of the appeal for the Wurm and the type of people that enjoy this game over the long haul is not having things Rust like / Ark like or other games. Wurm is a very unique game with out dated graphics that will not appeal to 99% of the current mmo gamer's. A lot of the things that make this game so special imo is that not every thing is given to you as a new player , You have to work / Invest time into this game. As far as Guidance goes all anyone has to do is either use google or CA help / Chat or even the forums. So much is already given to new players. If you make this game any more easy for new players they will not stay for the long haul only play until the game gets " hard " . Guess I don't want anymore time wasted from our Dev's on things that will not retain players vs Time our Dev's could spend on current game issues for all of us that play. If you and I got it and the rest of wurm got through this " hard part " and still play why do think this next guy will decide that because his house is too hard to build will stay around and play ? Or because the new guy finds that the Key binding system is a bit too hard or any number of reason that make starting out " too hard ". IMO it's a weeding out process. If you can't reach out ask for help / use google then this might not be the game for them is all I am saying. Tons and tons of help for new players. This is not nor will it ever be an " Ark " or " Rust " and thank god for it.

My idea is to make it so you will get different looks for furniture and items that are for looks more then usefulness. For instance a bed's quality has no use, and there is no reason to improve it. You get just the same amount of sleep bonus in a 1ql. as a 100 ql. one, and you cant see the difference. What if we give reason to improve these items? The looks would change and the higher the quality the more elaborate it looks.

Hi I know this sounds weird but it would be great if there where some different types and size cat statues for people to make since there are troll, Horse, Dog, People and other types of statues already. Can you please see about adding Feline Statues. Thank you and if anyone else has a suggestion on this just add it. Also if you like this thread bump it up ok. Thanks again.

We were internally discussing wether or not to let you join back, the trouble is like you said yourself siding with quasiwud in his all out war against myself for the petty reasons you mentionned above. the main point is where you loyalties lie. if you are bad mouthing the team in the freedom chat, then the forum and taking personnal actions against team members, we are allowed to doubt your willingness to play fairly. Also odynn is tired of that crap.

I have an absurd number of animals on my deed and I dont come anywhere near close to my ratio limit. In order to have wild animals become a problem, you deed must be loaded. There are three mechanics already in place to fix your issue: extend your deed, reduce the amount of animals you host on your deed to improve your ratio, or cull the local population of wild mobs. I understand that its an inconvenience, just as its an incovenience for people to encounter mobs on the wild while cutting wood: Its an inherent feature of the game and as a result of an intended mechanic. The solutions provided appear workable on the surface, but they are not. For one, as it was mentioned before, counting only branded animals on deed would be extremely exploited, where people could pen absurd amounts of mobs (cows and sheep for milking or shearing, bred horses for sales, workable breading programs, people penning champs and other rare creatures) without any consequences. Then they could simply brand their favorite mount and wagon pullers and never even come close to touching the ratio. This would render that mechanic useless. Then there is the problem of those who -do- want unbranded animals to get deed bonuses. The branding mechanic on Chaos and Epic is pretty much useless. And even if it wasnt, branding horses its moot since they have to be replaced at an alarming rate on pvp servers. Even on Freedom, people who do regular breeding rather not brand horses that are going to be sold/gifted. Its just extra work that in their eyes is not needed. This will be particularily more an issue when the animal cages come into play. This is a double edged QoL change, and this is why I dont see it being implemented. When the proposed changes bring the ability to exploit a game mechanic, you practically guarantee your suggestion is not going to move forward, and this suggestion did just that. And if you think no one will take advantage of such a thing, ask JakeRivers about his infernal farm of hops that caused him so much grief when the change to that mechanic happened. People in this game simply have no limit. In the end, having such a tight ratio is intended to force you to do your work. Just as I have to waste time and go through the hassle of feeding my pen training trolls so they dont bash out, so must you have to either keep your ratio down or regularily cull the local wild population. At least until a better suggestion comes to light.

I don't post in this thread very often (I do pop by to admire your guys screenies though!), so forgive me for spamming so many pics at once. These are from the Ultima Nostalgia project I have going on in Wurm Unlimited, the aim being to recreate Ultima Online as closely as I can. Yesterday I finally completed Dagger Isle and Dungeon Deceit. Here are some pics of those:

STEEL Small magical chest - UNIQUE ITEM I am looking to sell a small magical chest made from STEEL. This is a unique item which has been removed many years ago and can no longer be bought. Imagine a small magical chest which can be used in forges without burning, an incredible gadget for smiths. It comes with a special rune increasing the size. Steel makes it also decay a lot slower, as you can see, this small magical chest only got 22dmg in 8 Years and it was stored mostly in a forge, helping me smithing!! It was bought in 2010 at a trader on Independence. [12:28:07] A single zinc rune of Magranon has been attached to it, so it will increase size (5%) and increase vehicle speed (5%) PM ME with your offers!

EDIT! i just realized i posted in the WRONG part of the forum...i am very sorry for this... i'll take care to not do this again... i posted this on the steam forums and wanted to see what you guys would say. this is a copy and paste of what it was... first read the whole post. and explain why or why not. second i play solo so it doesnt matter if i do it or not. would you consider it cheating to use an external program that auto clicks the mouse? the program itself only clicks where the mouse cursor is and doesnt do anything else. it will NOT work as a bot. the only thing it can do gameplay wise is...click a button that does an action. for example. you need to go somewhere for a minute. you turn on your auto clicker and mine where a ore vein is. you get back and you mined up to the limit of 100 ore on the floor and cannot mine there again until clearing it out. you cant use it to do any movement or anything on the keyboard. its just a program that clicks the mouse where the pointer is. personally i dont consider it cheating. since its very limited and cannot really play for you. its like the little toy bird that dips into water and goes up and down as if its drinking. and using it to press a button repeatedly to do one simple thing while you use the toilet or get a drink.

Welcome to Delish. Most of the Deli people have heard me ranting and raving about surface mining, dirt, mortar, bricks... etc!... for months now. The project were intended to be completed in September - but issues cropped up and real life got in the way. (Pesky responsibilities, what are they good for anyway.) But now, FINALLY, the deed is in the state I call "done for now". There are lots of little things that could still be done, like raising the ocean for more market stall space, or putting roofs on the buildings. The tasks are endless, and they will be worked on over time, but now has come the time to invite you all - the Wurmians - to come both sell and buy. So, you may wonder, what's the deal with Delish? Why another marketplace? It's simple. I placed the deed in a server corner (Specifically the South East corner, T23 on the in game map) on the smallest size map available for the simple reason of ease of travel with the border mechanics. The deed also have a major sign board, making it very hard to pass even remotely close to the deed and miss it. (Disclaimer; depends on your structure render distance.) The theme is simply ease of access. That's what I believe almost all other markets lack currently - being either landlocked, or being on Xandu. There were a huge amount of effort involved. I could not have done it by myself. So here is a list of people I have to thank for showing up and helping out: Mani Odynn Delightfuldee Darmalus Mrcoolman Karidwen Yaga Xxxpoisonxxx Epryss Garfius The market comes with a public Wagoner and a small magic chest which serves high quality food for free. There is a 99 power runed mailbox. And finally, we're connected to the Deliverance highway network! Welcome, shoppers. Welcome, sellers. Jberg (Owner)

The Basics So one of the most common things new players want to do from the start of the game is to build a house. Building a house is no simple task for a new player playing Wurm. Currently this game isn't something you can just pick up easy and start without some long grind and insane crafting mechanics that puts off a lot of new players. I think the new player experience is something that should be looked into to make it easier and to educate players better. I have some basic ideas to help with this. Currently wood plank structures take to long to make and require many materials. So I have a solution. Allow new players including free to play build a new wooden shack, log cabin that requires hardly any materials and doesn't require planks or nails. Nails require iron and that is a chore for a new player to figure out, 20 planks required per wall is quite insane with starting characteristics as well. When I first started playing it took me days to build my house! I simply ask why scare away people? With that said, allow players to plan a 1x1,1x2, etc up to a maxium of a 4x4 log shack/cabin. (Maybe limit them here on size.) They will last longer than a tent obviously, be simple to create (requires no carpentry level), emphasizing easy creation timers like no more than 10 seconds per action. A place to store stuff that'll prevent theft which is generally a issue. I think you should only be able to create one per character as well. Allow the use of raw logs say 10 per wall, and mixed grass for a roof/floors, 5 per tile. These wouldn't decay on deeds if you build there. However it would have mild decay off deed. I think wood piles should randomly spawn in the forest maybe containing 2 or 5 logs each, maybe low chance at some kindling potentially. They should spawn rather commonly as well. I feel like this is a fairly simple tweak, the wood piles spawning shouldn't replace woodcutting, but it should help new players get a hold on the world around them without making them use Wurmpedia for every little thing, or remain clueless on how to highlight and fell a tree and logout. (Trees should have a highlight!) Keep the quality of them low, but the quality should have no bearing on the creation timers for wooden cabins/shacks. Also allow people to pick grass, it should work similar to "take," highlight the grass tile and you'll have some grass in your inventory this should give no skill. I'd also suggest to ability to find some early food and first-aid items from doing this like a pumpkin or cotton on rare chance. Cooking is another matter which I'll go into soon. Keybinds & Settings The default keybinds in Wurm are a bit odd if you ask me for the normal PC gamer! I can tell you a good amount of Wurmians do not utilize keybinds, I do think that's because of the the status bar. I'm not a fan of it either. However I don't really want to get into it a lot here so let's talk about take and movement. Maybe update the "take" default keybind so "take" is easily accessible. A great keybind in my opinion would be "Q" since it's near WASD - I would also remove the (turn left & right keybinds from A & D) as well. When I first came into this game I thought that was insanely confusing when you can simply use the mouse to change perspective. I spent a great deal annoyed by that until I figured out how to change it, back then we were blessed with the console. Right now we have a new settings panel, however there is also huge delay opening it which should also be fixed or better yet, incorporate it into the client instead of a random window pop up. I would also like to mention that you should consider allowing people to change from left mouse click to right mouse click to change camera perspective, most games use right mouse click! (Also consider adding mouse sensitivity options in the settings!) Make food simple Cooking was a huge update that I feel is a hit or miss for a lot of players. It requires some intense focus and it can be very time consuming if your going into it blindly. I still use a guide and notes for it myself! For a new player that has barley any idea on the basic systems of this game it's an absolute nightmare for them to make some basic food that actually feeds them. So I suggest bringing back entry foods like a potato or a pumpkin that give modest CCFP and a decent nutrition level - let's say 30% that doesn't take a half hour to eat and fills you up semi-decently, or require multiple servings. No affinity should be given. Eat a pumpkin in real life and tell me it doesn't fill you up! Back in the day pumpkin was a great item along with cotton. It was simple, and it worked. The UI & Tutorial As much as I want to discuss this, I feel like it's in the works already from information stated from devs in the past. Nothing much I can mention but the game totally needs attention for these two things. Have any other suggestions or room for improvement, thoughts? Agree? Disagree? Please comment thanks!

Ow I see. True it is possible to build this feature as plugin, however I don't think this is a good idea right now. I was planning to remove plugins support since there was no interest in it. Also I'm working on the WA internals right now and there is a good chance I'd break something in your plugin in the coming months. Since there are many fundamental changes I'm doing to this tool, I'm planning to fork it from current WA3 and ultimately release everything as Wurm Assistant 4. In WA4 there will be a way to add new features, but not as plugins like the ones described on the github wiki. Each WA feature will be a separate C# project in the git repository and it will be possible to add more such projects. If you'd like to go ahead with your plans, the best would be to wait a while until WA4 has the shared kernel component ready. Then we could work in parallel: me adapting existing features to this kernel, you building code of your feature. I will post here once this is all set up.

Game Mechanic problem, Tpikol is Ebonaura, just temp in hots to farm affinities. Multiple exploits here, using multiple kingdoms, affinities are designed as a reward for success in pvp not meant to be transfered to your new account by circumventing mechanics like killing own kingdom does not give affinities . And this is only from about an hour. In singleplayer WurmUnlimited, it's up to you to make up all the rules so there really is no concept of "cheating" at all. Instead it is more like a difficulty slider that you get to create yourself to find the perfect blend of challenge vs convenience to make the game "fun" for you. Ideally, the more fun it is for you, the more you will want to come back and play it over and over again. Multiplayer is another story -- in multiplayer there are preset rules that everyone must follow regardless whether they agree with them or not. This creates stability and a level playing field and reduces resentments and frustrations for everyone. Whether you consider it an important rule or not, is not the issue, it is in a sense a social contract you make with the community, and in WU at least, if you disagree then you have the freedom to setup your own version of the perfect multiplayer server. In any case it is an indication of social immaturity to cheat or break rules in a multiplayer game. In singleplayer though, so-called "macros" are no different than adjusting the slider that determines how fast you gain skills, or which tools you start with, or how hostile the animals are --all of which is built right into WU and no one considers it "cheating" to adjust this.

This. I'd like to see it to be able to create from basic material, so it's not depended on rare material and unique hunting etc. And yes, would benefit all of the players. Would make alchemy much more interesting and give versatile usage of herbs or so.

I had a similar popup in December on one of my alts, I did not save the text unfortunately as I was in a rush to save my precious parts from a train of mobs, but "You are rewarded a buffalo cheese." That was no redeem code, just popped into my inventory. I could not place this reward and mission to any context but might be the very same surprise. A nice idea it is, thanks

Hi - I would like to suggest that one of the creative (and overworked!) Devs has a look at marble items to improve the textures and colours for consistency and/or variation of choices. There are 3 marble items here - bridge wall and marble slab paving: http:// Here again, the marble brazier and the marble horses/ planters do not match - either consistency needed or choice of colour/texture would be good: It would be great if the height of walls to be used between bridges could be looked into as well, as previously asked for: Many thanks, in hope....

Last post on this topic. forgive me. Like so many games you see it more in PVP games where the player base puts sole responsibility of player retention onto the Devs. " PVP would happen if only the Devs do this" " Players would come play / stay around longer if Devs only did this " But thing is with a game that has been around for 11 years and for the past 3-4 has seen some of the biggest quality of life improvement for everyone , even new players. You have stop and ask yourself at what point do the players themselves have to take a certain amount of responsibility in all this for player retention / growth ? How many new players have you brought into your deed ? How many new players have you mentored ? How many times have you hung out in CA answer questions ? How many videos / streams have you posted in order to showcase Wurm? How many ...... Dev's can only do so much with a Sandbox. They can give you all the tools and say here have fun.. This is a sandbox game. They can't make you google / ask for help , can't make people go pvp. Can't make people go join Epic / Wild. They have given us the tools

+1 I'm very much for making the introduction to this game easier for people, not that I don't like the challenge of the game, it's more-so that I want to see more people give this game a solid go, and can get a footing in it before just up and rage quitting. I know there are deeds out there that will take in complete newbies, but not everyone wants that, some want to strike out on their own, like so many Wurmians who own a deed with just them and their alts, many new players see the idea of the game, as a way to have creative freedom, in a more realistic way than games like Minecraft offers, but it's just that first initial stepping stone, that I know many, many players just never get a good footing on, and leave the game, and move on looking for something else instead. In short, I really wanna see this game continue to grow, and honestly, I think this would help that

It's a pretty common error that has been around for years, I think I have gotten it a few times over the years too, I don't know that any solution was found. In googling around, I found Minecraft users often get this same error, and at one point Notch (who also wrote some of the original Wurm code) posted that it might have originated from some of the code he wrote for Minecraft and he would try to fix it. That was back in 2009 and the same error has been popping up sporadically every year since then, so i would not hold your breath as it seems there is no easy solution. (I don't think it was actually anything Notch wrote for either game,as it actually comes up in some other software too, I only linked to the Minecraft examples as solutions Minecraft users discover often help in Wurm, too -- and they found no solution). Numerous attempts by people to adjust their antivirus or firewall all had no effect. Sometimes there was an issue with multiple copies ofthe process running in task manager, and it is possible that Win7 users had the issue more often but that could also be coincidental. A check for the issue specifically on the wurmonline forum, came back with 93 results. . So you are not alone. In one case, Wurm devs fixed a bit of code that gates were causing that created this same error message (suddenly and for a lot of people). Maybe try resetting the modem/router (unplug from wall, count to 10, plug back in again) and restarting the computer in case it helps, but it is also possible that it is nothing you can "fix" on your end. Wurm devs would probably need a pattern of reproducible errors to fix i t if it were something in Wurm code, but it might also just be a general Windows/ISP connectivity issue too.

+1, some (almost all) of the textures are extremely outdated. I wouldn't mind using something like this here.

Hello... My village just built a tavern so we could party down with the best of them. But after buying a merchant for 10s we found out that our bartender (the merchant) can not sell filled containers. Now this really dampens the spirit of the Tavern and the Roleplay of the game. I see no reason why this should not be allowed. Please support my request for Merchants to sell containers filled with liquid. We need a real bartender not a bunch of barrels laying around. Many Thanks, Qwizat

Nice to get them captured on video Thanks Lumpy! Bringing back CHAMPION DEER would also be nice. I have no idea why they ever removed Champion Deer/Champion Dog etc spawns from the game.

Since most people add as many ingredients as possible to increase difficulty most meals are way to big to fit in the picknick basket. This is fairly often on my mind and increased volume for a basket that would hold enough for a family lunch in the park seems logic. +1

Probably more info about fishing that anyone really wants to know Posted in another thread but i'll copy it here for posterity. The code is kinda hard to follow so take the following with a grain of salt. It counts the number of tiles lower than 3 dirt under water within 10 tiles from you in all cardinal directions (not square!, it's like a + 21 tiles in in height, and 21 across), and it also checks the maximum depth within those tiles. If you are fishing in a cave you always get group 1. If there are less than 9 tiles underwater you get group 1, if there are 9 or more but less than 20, or if the maximum depth is above 250 you get group 2 else you get group 3. So for best results have 10+ tiles of underwater in at least 2 directions from you and at least 250 dirt deep. group 1 - roach and perch or chance of carp group 2 - roach, perch, trout, pike, catfish or chance of carp group 3 - roach, herring, trout, pike, catfish, carp, bass or chance of special fish Special fish - octopus, marlin, shark (blue/white), sailfish, dorado, tuna Your skill level and rod rarity affect the chance to get special fish (or carp for group 1/2) Out of every 100x100 tiles there will be a 10x10 area for every special fish type (possibly overlapping) and those will change with season and server but should otherwise be static and repeating (so if you catch an octopus here, you should be able to go 100 tiles north and catch octopus again, assuming it's still in the middle of water). Note that even if you are in a special fish spot you are still rolling against the other fish in group 3, so you won't ALWAYS get the special fish. Higher skill and rod rarity helps.

Bought it when it was first announced, still waiting, will probably never get to play. I hope I'm wrong. Also don't listen to Derek Smart, he has issues.
