    But that has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that this system is a bit outdated and pointless. I have yet to see one good reason being brought forward for this system to be in place... and spare me the health one - 12h of rested time is way to much... if you wanted for this to be a health reason then we should not have more than 2-3h per RL day which effenctively could have us sit 3-5h at our PCs which is already way to long from a health point of view. Now to touch upon your (thats how I assume you meant it to be) "Wurm is meant to be slow" reasoning, why do we have sleep powder then that can be bought left and right either by buying more prem time or from other players? It doubles skill gain to speed things up significantly (meant to be slow, unless you buy yourself free from those shackles... mh?). Which leads me back to Aegis55 suggestion of having a equivalent of Sleep Powder in the form of Rested Powder or so that fills up your fatigue timer. Essentialy its the same, one powder gives you double skill gain in a given timeframe - the other powder just extends the timeframe at normal skillgain. Now, I get the systems go a bit further than that looking at the Vynoras Wisdom spell and some other aspects, but its not about small details now - those can always been taken care of in some other way. No matter how you logically twist this topic, there is absolutely no good reason for this system to be in place. And no - it wont prevent botting either, as I said already once - when I hit the fatigure cap 2 days in a row due surfacemining like crazy and a question window poped up - THAT is anti botting, because I couldn't do anything until I gave that box a answer. I am not sure if thats a automated process or a GM had their fun with me after I complained a bit on IRC about that fatigue stuff hampering my surfacemining (but who would bot surfacemining and possibly ruin the landscape?). There is only one good point against it - we pay a subscription fee here and to artifically limit the time we can play is kind of... not ok. Any game you pay a sub, you can do whatever you want with your time. We are grown ups... we do not need a big brother watching our every move... thats only a thing in China. (I am not affected so I could care less, but I just don't like to see how a dedicated player that enjoys the game is being reduced to be a minority that no one needs to cater to - we have a small player base as is, no need to alienate people by being unflexible or walling any possible discussion they bring up - specially when they have a valid point, in my opinion anyhow.)

    Always found it odd that blue dye is so insane to get made. red - cochinaels are easy to come by and everyone skills butchering green - just mine it, easy white - just mine it, easy black - we can harvest acorns now but....blue - You have to scramble around botanising for ages, rarely getting woad, getting lots of random other junk and the chance its good QL is reaallllly slim. Couldn't we allow Woad to be put in planters and use similar code to herbs? Edit for important information - You can no longer botanise high QL woad without the skill. It is literally capped with your skill since 1.3. If you ever want to be able to make 90QL blue dye you need to find a person with 90+ botanising. Does anyone in the whole game have that!? Feb 9th Edit - Today the devs decided that Forestry, Milking and Botanising being actually slightly reasonable to grind for the first time in 10 years needed nerfing, so now it's even harder to get woad.

    Today I landed on Chaos in Talor's local. He had to face 4 challenges! #1 - Did he have a rope tool in inventory? Nope. Right off the bat the Gold Dragon egg had to go back into the void. Shame too, I am told that once raised, it would come to your aid anywhere at anytime of you calling on any server! Not only will it fight along side you, but it can heal, and teleport you. Oh well, it will never even get hatched now... poor dragon. #2 Get 25 sand within 4 minutes. He was able to succeed with only 35 seconds left on the clock! Unfortunately his digging angered a nearby troll and they got into a heated argument about the hole he dug. Talk about road rage.... #3 How many real world hours are in an average Wurm Online day. His answer was correct! #4 He had to defend his personal style from the fashion police! They descended on him with needles and scissors and thread so absolutely filled with disgust at his choice of helmet. They were all like "You can't wear white drake after Starfall of Fire!" "The blood on your shield does not go with your axe!" "Never wear a great helm with a 3 slot toolbelt in winter!" Talor countered with "Die you egg sucking reality show rejects!" Or at least he could have said that if he wasn't so busy matching their blood and heads with the cobblestone. He won some marble shards, some fresh stir fry and lamb, as well as a meditation rug and fishing pole!

    How about being able to plant cat's eyes on a straight 3 lane highway in the centre of a tile?(Similar to how we can plant objects and decorations in the tile centre) That would resolve this stupid issue of having it look like the road is offset. I CANNOT stand having cat's eyes down one side of a 3 lane highway it drives my ocd INSANE! Frankly after building a highway or two myself I'm not gonna make it look like junk so the odd person can use a wagoner faster. Seems like the issue is with design not with the folks who did the work to both make the highway and the cat's eyes and also lay them down. How about fixing that before forcing us to lay them in a specific manner?

    Zig-Zaggers Beware I have received a missive from the Wagoners United union concerning a few of the new roadways: Well, you heard the man... The Wagoners are threatening to go on strike if they do not get straight path cats-eyes. While I am all for anything that helps with this horrid equine infestation of our lands, I do hate to see such fine quality wagons get needlessly abused. So from here on, no more zig-zag or other complicated cats-eye patterns on the roads that connect between way-stones. Please make them a single straight row. If you find one of these roads to have a zig-zagging cats-eye pattern and there are too many to repair and straighten yourself, please put in a support ticket and we will come look at it.     fatigue has nothing to do with health concerns, it is a anti-botting tool, a poorly implemented one at that, you would think it be more in there interest to catch the botters rather than just make them switch to another toon once they hit the fatigue

    It's not only kind of crazy, i know that it is crazy. And the problem occors, once you reached it your caught in the 2 hours waiting - 1 hours playing loop. I'm back on 12 hours of fatigue now, but only for the reason that i currently refuse playing, except helping people out at the village. Only a few guys begging me to stay are the reason I'm still here chatting. Against the "advantage" fatigue is not really working. I reached my goal, Papyrusmaking 70, thus wearing a new title. And i think no one is afraid that i show up on Chaos with my "Advantage" and kill everyone with Confetti. But reaching the title in the end only made me feel sad. Not cause its not an achievment, that i have a unique title after 5 weeks playing. I simply knew that now I'm forced wether to regenerate my fatigue, go fighting/meditating for god fakes or play an alt character. Its the simple fact of being told: "Go do something else, the current action you want todo is not supported anymore" Overruling a players gameplay with such a system is simply wrong, and if i would choose to adapt my playstyle instead of fighting against this crap i would feel like a wimp.

    Yes, remove access to the white and black light altars. You could modify it completely out if desired but easiest way is just block off the altars.

    We're using the Team feature for the impalong to coordinate between staff. However, because people have to log out occasionally, we have to keep reinviting them, which is hard to do for this many people. If the team were remembered when you logged out then it would be much more useful. Maybe drop when you change servers or haven't logged in for a week to prevent teams from growing endlessly.

    for the last month or so a lot of activity was going on somewhere between Greymead and Rome, as a mountain was climbed, carved and conquered, and a new road emerged. a highway that avoids all the clay on the coast, connect Greymead and Rome, and with that the rest of the highway system. first i heard of this was when Ajala posted some pictures in the highway protection post, and looking at those pictures i had a feeling i knew who was working on that. so i hitched my horses to the cart and rode out, only to find the madness that is an angled road through a mountain i used to ride around. this road is now finished! the following people were the workers during the process : Tich, Keyos, Trooperau, Ajala, Mortommes, Cerber, and myself. its been a mad couple ofweeks, and from my own perspective, since i had to go back to deed from time to time .. everytime i returned more had happened, sometimes when i was on site the next day i logged on the whole landscape had changed again over night. since pictures tell a thousand words, i figured i will take those pictures, add even more words, and ride the damn road for your viewing pleasure :

    Autumn Evening at Crystal Bay Estates, Independence - Finndar Another short and sweet News this week as we gear up towards the end of the year, with the final Valrei International for 2017 being released next friday. Christmas is around the corner, and I hope you're all getting your shopping done and not leaving it until the last minute (like me!) But anyways... Ongoing work The two main focuses of our work currently are ongoing discussions and balancing of the 1.6 update based on your feedback including: Mission requirements and rewards - High difficulty missions and balancing, rewards splitting, champion creature availability Archaeology mechanics and fragments - high failure rate at high skill, low frequency of archaeology specific fragments Restoration results - Enchant powers and rune frequencies have been mentioned as being a little low. Epic skillgains - Stat gains, action skillgain vs speeds Many of you have taken the time to provide feedback (and report bugs) and it's greatly appreciated, there's likely others apart from the ones listed, but we'll continue to look at addressing each issue as we go. The other main focus is the previously announced features of saddlebags and animal crates. They're ongoing works (though some may have noticed the graphics slipped in in the last update) and the creature crates will likely have a public testing round prior to launch, so keep an eye out for that when it comes up. There's no ETA yet though. Client Update As mentioned in last weeks news, yesterdays client update introduced a new system of rendering player models, with improved memory footprint and performance, we'll be popping around to check out gathering and be relying on your feedback too, if you encounter any high memory usage situations with many players in local, please be sure to provide feedback, every little bit helps us! WU Beta We've received a fair few questions about the WU beta, and it is ongoing, we have no firm ETA yet, but are reaching a point where we consider the current system stable to go into WU, so watch this space! Christmas break As stated earlier, next week will be the last Valrei International for 2017. Over the next week or so we'll be winding down to the Christmas break, there's still a bit of work to be done, but after that we'll be taking the Christmas and New Years period to rest, spend time with family, and get ready for next years work, there's plenty we've shared coming, and a lot more we want to get out of there. Community Content It's the second annual Shrimpalong! Also known as the Blackmoor Christmas Impalong, hosted by Shrimpiie (I prefer Shrimpalong) Launching today in approximately 15 hours and running until 17th, The impalong is the perfect way to get to know people from other servers, and work together in games, imping, and all round fun.     So, just to come up to this again, if this has been seen as an "offense" then i say I'm sorry. (same for drawing the thematics into public chat) I read your input and was a bit annoyed cause picking out a single statement about what i did and how you see it, is for me not really an argument. And for I experienced such tactics to drew the attention to something that has nothing todo with the thematic a lot in my life, i called that "trash-talking", cause for me thats the term for such a kind of distracting technique in discussions. Cause just that my goal was somehow "stupid" for a lot of people has nothing todo with the fact that people that stick on one char and play a lot can run into the fatigue issue. And all say its hard to really use up that 12 hours, but the main issue is, once you're down on 0 hours, your caught there. And seen it that way, when you tell people they have to wait 2 hours, to continue for 1 hour than that all looks a bit different. I admit a lot don't understand my "unhealthy" playstyle of about 16 hours a day, but stopping focusing my mind on something like a game usually leads to the effect that I'm simply bored and smoke the twice amount of cigarettes. I tend to "addicted" behaviour and I see computer games as the most "healthy" addiction possible. But the same thing could happen if a working player is on vacation for two weeks and gets the fixed idea to grind something hard that 2 weeks. What I say is not to offense, but what i want to somehow pass to the staff of the game is: Its perhaps no fault being a bit more "emphatic" to a player that had a weekend spending 16 hours waiting for nothing. Cause really, thats not just like you wait 1 hour, don't know anyone of you ever waited 16 hours on somthing in sum, thats simply terrible. I know there are solutions like "doing something else", but for me that was simply not possible and as paying player i wonder a bit that no one cares. (and even if i would be a non-paying player I would expect "emphaty" cause a non-paying can turn into a paying one too if feeling welcome) Hope this helps bringing the topic back on a kind of civilized discussion about the thematics, and not how stupid i am or that i feel mistreated by staff a bit in this case. So, i keep the rest of the discussion for others to state what they are thinking about. Thanks for reopening the thread.

    +1 for this. Also, stamina use based on total weight of the item could be added (similar to dragging cart). Think this one is a plus, as makes it easier (as highlighted by OP) to rearrange items in the settlement. The rearrange operation is a non-skill related task, so no much grinding concerns related with it. Replacing something from "move->pull" repeat n times, to single "double-click rope->move->drag" is perfect.

    Really, don't see that as a problem at all. No clue who sees that as a problem. I love this aspect of Wurm that even as new player you can achive awesome things not done by everyone, just if you aim for it. Its a good thing. Like i was slaying a champion blue whale after 3 weeks, it was close to impossible, it was dangerous, i don't got any special reward, but i wanted to do it. And seriously, i refuse the idea that anyone could tell me what a game is all about. Its up to me what i make out of it. Currently i run around giving all my high end equipement to other players cause i adapt now a playstyle i call being a ingame-monk. No rares, no high enchanted stuff. Insane isn't it, i still enjoy it, except the fact that i'm currently not in the mood to do anything. Instead i keep the holy fatigue up to 12 hours, not scratching it a bit in the hope the holy health people are promising me here is coming above me. Yaga, seriously, I'm the wrong person to talk about "problems" with. I got really a lot, but even when I'm angry and having an offensive mind naturally, i keep this thematic and all around in a civilized manner. What turns me down are people that simply throw in a line like yours above. Thats nothing than trash talking me down and for i read you are a chat moderator, i usually expect a more open minded way to argue from Chat moderators, but perhaps thats just me.

    @RetrogradeThe problem with this statement Retro, was that prior to the very recent arch sections allowing a 2 tile wide doorway, 3 tile wide highways were the only option for anyone wishing to connect though a building without half the road running into a flat wall. Ergo more than half of the highways (number pulled out of my head) in existence are already 3 wide and the buildings that connect to them are designed so. It seems poor design planning that this new system only really incorporates 2 lane roads with 3 lanes looking terrible. On most of the old servers even there is no hope for newer highways to follow the 2 tile design (if not already) as most if not all of the infrastructure is already in place. Unless of course someone decides to go back and literally remove a tile from the edge of all the highways. I'm not asking that the tile coordinate be re-located to the centre of the tile but merely that we get an option to plant a cat's eye in the centre of one and that the highway system can recognise this and link it as normal. It's really the only option I can see where both 2 lane and 3 lane highways can co-exist equally and look equally good. If you have a 2 lane highway plant on the tile corners as usual, if you have a 3 lane plant in the centre of the centre tile. That would also match up with cat's eye placement for 3 lane diagonal roads also, both if you planted in the corner for diagonals or centrally to avoid the close placement on corners.

    The major issue is the zigzagging slows down wagoners by a massive factor, as they turn slower to avoid getting stuck. We had several reports of wagoners taking an unusually long time to deliver a package, which we then investigated only to find massive parts of the highway were zigzagged and wagoners spent a huge amount of time navigating them. This also introduces numerous more chances of getting stuck while turning, and Zigzagging was never intended and the implementations were there from the start, it was always protecting a 3x3 area from testing onward, people who believed a zigzag pattern was necessary were mistaken. Due to the nature of each tile coordinate belonging to the NW corner it's not possible to shift them as it would affect 2 tile wide roads too (you'd then have a 2 tile wide highway with the catseyes running down the center of one side) with that said, using a 2 tile wide highway would solve this issue for any OCD you feel. The system was built around 2 tile wide highways, but for those who have used three tile wide ones, there has to be some flexibility to cover it. if you are building a highway in the future, I'd advise doing a 2 tile wide one if you want the catseyes to run symmetrically It's totally understandable that many of you built highways with zigzagged catseyes prior to knowing about the wagoner, which is why we're happy to help you all correct any instances of these. Just log a support ticket for a GM to come and look over it, and we can work out any potential issues from there

    They protect a 3x3 but it can miss a a row of highway if you do it on the wrong side, as its sorta offset. My apologies for suggesting the zig zag pattern, I came up with the idea on test server long before the wagoner, if there was only some way I could of tested wagoners on the test server before the problem would of came up earlier than now. Zig zag does look great but it is hell on the wagon driver, making them look drunker than usual.

    @Budzilla @Araninke @Roccandil Sorry to hear it's worse now, most people we've tested with have had significant performance improvements - could you post in the client bugs section or PM me your console.log files? Would like to see if maybe there's something we missed as to certain settings or machine specifications.

    You guys act like saying “macro” is going to summon Lord Voldemort. I would suggest slowing down if you hit the fatigue limiter, not really sure how one could hit it seeing that I’ve only heard maybe a handful of people hitting it in my 10+year rodeo with this game. I’ve played with some pretty hardcore people and they never once hit it. Only way I ever heard it being hit was someone played for 36 hours straight making his deed and another guy doing it while macroing and let’s just say he was banished from the good guys club. and to answer your question, no it’s not in place to make you pay prem on another account. And if it was take some of whatever your hitting the fatigue limiter with and sell it for silver to activate another account dawg.

    I know 3 people who can hit this cap easy enough, and then there play time is ruined for days following, I don't think it is a fair feature to have when you are paying to play the game and not be able to. I don't grind hard myself, but once I did come close to this and was a few hours from capping out.

    +1 to woad in planters. Not seeing any issue it would create, and it would certainly solve one. Easily implemented given code already exists, to a large extent anyway. Nice QoL for folks who like to stay close to the stead and tool around.
