    The newly added signs to the canal with GM Aion doing GMs things (not too spooky normally). A bit of history, the canal was protected for quite a long time by the Insanity Hills Deliverance Outpost, Ago and Spellcast used to live here and it was the Deliverance end of the boat bridge to Independence. When the deed disbanded last July, the canal lost its protection, lighting and one of the last sloped house on the server, the "Insane Dragon Inn". Archaeology reveals some snippets of this time : You can see signs of a single abandoned settlement here. Based on your knowledge of the area and small hints you can find, the settlement must have been called Insanity Hills Deliverance Outpost. You find a scrap of washed out parchment signed by the last mayor, Spellcast. It looks to have been abandoned roughly 53 months ago. You make a rough estimate that the settlement was inhabited for about 73 months. As a remembrance of that past and the work Ago put on the canal, I'm proud to present you the deed Ago's Legacy and the new Insane Dragon Inn marking the north entrance of the canal : The canal itself is named Insanity Hill Canal to keep the history alive, the GM signs display it as such : The "Insanity Hill Canal - Heritage site - Do not alter without consent of Wurm GM Team." has been firmly secured to the ground by Aion. You can barely make out the signature of its maker, 'Logi'. This is a fantastic example of the item, with fascinating design details and perfect ideas for functionality. My thanks goes to the GM team for reviewing the heritage status (with a special mention to Enki who took the ticket and Aion who brought the good news) and the friends who helped on the canal : Velvetsun, Delightfuldee, MrCoolman, Rasu, Darmalus.

    Added an anchor option to skill tracker for anchoring bottom left or top left of the locked window when adding or removing skills. Significantly reduced memory usage in situations where other players were in local. (This will include a rather large download of the graphics pack, but reduces the overall size and memory usage of the pack.) Fixed not matching head and body colours. Other general optimizations.

    I know there are some Finnish gamers in Wurm and I'd like to wish for all of you a Happy Independence Day for achieving marvelous 100th year of independence!     No winner today either. I arrived on Pristine and dropped into the ocean. I thought we might have a nice random ocean enkounter for a change, but the people just sailed right by me and never waved, or even tried to throw me a life preserver..... nothing...nada.... no enkounter..... And here I had 2 jetski's to hand out. Actually they were rafts with chairs nailed on top pulled by a team of seals

    While I don't share my friend's flair for the dramatic, I do agree that, if nothing else, changes do need to be made. And sooner rather than later. This isn't really a 'wait and see' sort of situation when the results are readily observed first-hand: for example, as we're talking about Exodus: the only reason the first troll mission was finished was because the second one started and spawned enough extra for it to be finished. If nothing else, two major changes need to be made ASAP: 1: Extra creatures need to spawn for the given missions to offset the ones that get lost, stuck, penned, etc. 2: Missions need better scaling modifiers than "difficulties 1-7." They need to scale, if at all possible, on average daily population of a given server, as well as based on participation in the prior mission(s) beforehand. Again, these aren't something to wait and see for, but something that needs to be implemented as soon as possible.

    I really appreciate your willingness post your thoughts mclavin so one question that I've not seen answered yet in this thread, what makes a pvper, what makes a pver, and why do the folks from pvp land get to decide the difference? My understanding is that once a toon cross the border all bets are off. So long as it's game legal it's legal. What I am hearing from my side of the border is "Oh no, a person who plays mostly on pve is getting something that was reserved mostly for pvp players/exploiters/whatever you want to call them. Suddenly this is a burning issue". Do I think it's silly/stupid/gamey to slaughter alts? Of course. Has it been done by all kingdoms since I joined wurm? Ayup. So now we're back to that sticky question "What makes a player a pvp or pver person?" And why do people (pvp) who stand to benefit the most get to call the shots with shutting it down from the majority of players (pve). Would I trade affinity farming for a closed border? Sure. You farm alts and I'll farm everything else on freedom. Affinity pick up, hota, moonmetals, home server nerfs: all designed to bring pve to pvp. All failed. I sometimes wonder if chaos is just the failed elevation of freedom. Oh and calling people with other opinions greedy doesn't invalidate them, it's just....your opinion

    I have recently picked up the accounts for my own Fluttershy, Logggy & Damine Hopefully these were not bad guys and were proper gentlemen, but if not I ask you please understand they are now ME! I have been playing Wurm Online from a time about a week after Independence launched and I have always been a nice guy and a helpful community member..... ...when I have changed highway's I sought permission of dev's (Looking at you OTG who put me on KOS for changing the highway around Black Dog Canal) and I have gone out of my way to do extensive highways with the new cateye system on Xanadu at my own expense. If anyone has a beef with me personally I would love to hear about it and clear the air.... If you have a grudge against the old owner's I ask you drop it and respect me as new owner. As many of you know, I have a stress related mental illness which severely disables me. I was attacked several times in freedom chat on Xanadu right after I acquired Damine and I would hope this wont be the case in the future...... I love to stream this game on Twitch GrumpyOldGamerReviews and do so almost daily! I promote this game to the community at large and I also promote all indie games everywhere I go. It is good to return to the game as I was drove out several times from griefers and drama. THANK YOU ALL!     Mission completion and failure rates are also being monitored, but these missions ARE designed to be difficult at high levels. On Exodus you have a 5/7, 6/7 and 7/7 difficulty (champ trolls, cloth sleeves, and clay shapers respectively) so they are designed to take time to complete. You're pointing out that if you spent 5-8 hours focusing on them you could finish 2/3, but if that's split across a dozen players that becomes 30 or so minutes to do a large chunk of two missions. The community working together to complete these missions is the goal, if they're not doing so due to the high difficulty missions being too big then we can look at adjusting that in some fashion, but they are designed to take time and investment to accomplish.

    Got a bit of time to work on this again and made a ton of progress. First prototype is available here (put probably not ready to use on real servers): https://github.com/bdew-wurm/threedee/releases/tag/v0.1 What works so far: Items can be placed on stuff, activate an item (in your inventory), right click a table, choose Place - this will place the item on top of the table. Multiple items can be placed on a single table. Items on tables can be pushed/pulled/rotated using the appropriate action or keybind and will maintain their position if the table is moved. Items can be removed from tables normally (using take action or keybind). Surfaces that can hold items can be specified in config file. Stuff that still needs work: Currently items can only be placed on top of "dining table". Permission and sanity checking when placing or removing items. Tables that can hold items become containers that can be opened and you can see my "hook" items inside. Ultimately they shouldn't be player-visible. Tables that are positioned on a slope don't work right. (This might be unfixable without client modification) Some item models aren't "centered" in their own coordinate system and that causes some odd behavior, this mostly applies to weapons and tools. (This might be unfixable without client modification)

    Honestly I swing wildly between various hobbies and stuff but one solid thing that has pretty much stayed as a constant has been art. A ton of various media but I often find myself Designing tattoos, Surfboards, Longboards and even clothing recently for people. I normally favor using heavy ink, charcoal and pastel for my pen and paper designs. The last couple of days actually I've been finally learning to use a drawing tablet which a friend of mine bought me for my PC awhile back. Honestly it's been like learning to draw again but yesterday I was finally able to finish a couple of things I didn't totally hate.

    i think more risk should get more rewards. people should get extra affinities from pvp, nothing else. And people that abuse the mechanics are exploiting and should just be banned. just my opinion

    We Are Live! What's an Impalong? It's a community event that's hosted on someone's deed, where crafters and priests from across Wurm join together to improve/enchant others' gear for free. In addition to the imping/enchanting, there are various other things such as games and events, prize giveaways, contests, and sometimes even GM's drop in to spawn a few mobs on unsuspecting Impalong-goers.     [19:49:47] You feel the last of your sleep bonus run out. Currently there is no missions that are feasible to complete (700 sleves/500 shapers sacrifice) or possible to complete (slay 22 champ trolls (quite a few of the trolls are penned)) on Exodus. The turn over rate on these missions is silly, and leaves one with nothing to do to make up for a bit of sleep bonus. I could spend several hours making sleeves and shapers, 5-8? as that is what it would take for these to be done. Sure if more people were making them it could work out but this is freedom and most look at those goals and say fark that. These missions must be brought in line with the amount of active players on a server (seems to be getting smaller every day) and the expiry date shortened on ones that fail to meet the 33% completion level. The biggest problem with the newest changes are that there is not enough missions to choose from, so 3 difficult ones tie up the slots for half a week. If no one has attempted a mission after 2 days it should just be gone. I know you tailored these for the kingdoms on epic but I can't imagine any kingdom enjoying having to sit there imping up clay shapers to sacrifice for hours on end. With your nerf of missions you took away a activity that was enjoyed on freedom, I think you guys need to get your act together and start making changes that actually make people want to play wurm again, or you just as well close the door on the game.

    *I see dead players walking* Welcome to the fold of the walking dead *acquired* players association (WDAPA). It will take some time for those who knew these players when alive to realize that they are now inhabited ghost walkers, so I suppose that your post here will make some who are concerned aware of their new status. One of the pitfalls of the instant skill leveling that WO affords as a bonus for *not* playing the game. Best I not comment further on the topic..... =Ayes=

    Took me about 15 minutes to download the new pack. Your mileage may vary. The graphics pack is now about 500mb though, which is amazing.

    Yes and no. The market is slow at the moment, but i think what Angle meant is that Herrfritz lacks the smithing skills (most common crafting skills to actually make money and so on). But both niarjas side to side and watch thru the middle column. Mainly smithing. WS, SS, PAS, CAS, JS. Odynn has all above 90 while Herrfritz has 50s. 50s are nothing atm, they are a starter skill in something. Now add the fact that Odynn has all the supportive skills, high pvp skills and many other (which Herrfritz has a few) and you have the price difference. Ofc add 80 vs 90 meditating. Odynn has one of the topest accounts comparble to the bests where the price is basically the size of the biggest topdog. Althought 2k+ is maybe a little overated as afaik Dadd went for that much on a better market. So all in all you are comparing 2 very very different accounts.

    Lumpy Gravy has always been a terrific neighbor and player, I knew him both on Indy when we were both starting out as new players and did several trades, and we became next door neighbors when Deli opened, he is an all around great guy! I am very sorry to hear about the griefers who drove you away from Wurm, I hope they are all gone from the game now.

    Much love mate. You do you and enjoy the game , some people are toxic sometimes because of misunderstanding and sometimes for reasons unknown. Don't let that get to you, just do what you find fun in this game and the friends in this game come naturally. Good luck with the characters and keep on wurming.

    If some of our suggestions go through like what Mclovin suggested for example then yes we can police it. But how do we police alt affinity farming abuse from freedomers that cross onto a server border kill their alts then jump back across quickly. We can't camp every part of every border - not to mention we have better things to do then trying to prevent freedomers from exploiting. This is why we are making these suggestion threads.

    I like the idea of turning all but one affinity off on Freedom while all affinities work on PVP servers. Greed is an interesting comment. Sometimes open to interpretation. Is the old "All scale, drake etc from an unique killing needs to be turned in to the JK Elders" a form of greed? (since it steals from others who earned it) or is it a form of "What's best for the kingdom" (decided by those who directly benefit? ~Nappy

    making 600-800 sleeves isn't a problem, there is a crafting solution for that. SB is fine. No adjustments needed. Don't need things too easy. Tweaks can be on going but I'll steadily be ready to test and make sure that some aren't just looking for a free solution to sb gains.

    The new missions are nuts. The old missions worked just fine - why "fix" the missions when they weren't broken? There are far too few actual players who do missions on Exodus to make 300, 500, 700 items. Also why are there no Vyn missions? Surely there should be, especially now that player-god missions have been removed. And why were they removed?

    They expire 12 hours longer than they did before, and give larger sleep bonus rewards Missions are aimed at being participated by everyone on the server, not spammed out by a few individuals. If they're too hard, when the missions reroll they will be of lower difficulties.

    i think everyone is giving wimble a bad wrap, i mean think about it mizova and joey have quiet a history of stealing kingdom drake sets and tearing the kingdoms themselves apart.... besides i thought wurm staff weren't allowed to create/be a part of rule breaking/ drama....

    after asking saroman when the rest of our PMK graphics (tabards and wagon) would be included, he said it would be in the next graphics.jar update.... today was such an update, no wagon or tabard graphics for Legion of Anubis though can you please make sure, and i mean MAKE 100% SUUUUUUURREEEEE, that they are included in the NEXT graphics.jar update? thanks a lot love this game

    Sounds like you used the crafting window? I would not trust that to use any activated items so suspect it why it went wrong. Combine the old way, by activate enchanted lump and selected all the other lumps with shift click and combine on selection.

    Hmm... <looks at Wurm and DeedPlanner> When it comes to programming my primary areas of interest are (obviously) game development and tools/utilities, but other than that I love procedural generation and image processing/generation. I'm also interested in web development, especially single page applications. Second primary interest is gaming - I tend to enjoy games that offer hardcore experiences with delayed gratification. Other than Wurm I keep periodically coming back to War Thunder, EVE Online, Path of Exile and Guild Wars 2. Other than programming and gaming, I enjoy physics, astronomy, geography, history and mountain walking (I live in completely flat area with no mountain or even a hill in over 200 km radius which could be the reason for that, haha).

    I would much rather something be announced far ahead of time as being worked on in order to have new additions or features to look forward to than simply 'radio silence' up until a week or two before release. Your impatience =/= them doing something wrong or "bad."

    What if.. Affinities only worked on PVP enabled servers (Chaos & Epic)? So Freedomers could have as many as they liked but they would only give that boost to skill gain when on Chaos or Epic. Not only would this mean that people PVPing and living on Chaos would benefit because they can use the affinities they have earned and that were designed for PVP. It's also a reward for them for enduring the risk of living on a server that isn't "safe" like freedom is and may encourage more people in the longrun to live on Chaos (risk vs reward). Also having it so that affinities only worked on PVP servers would render affinity farming more or less pointless for freedomers that don't care about PVP or Chaos and never have any intention of living there. Certainly makes me feel like it won't be worth the effort if they are not getting anything from it.

    No winner today. I arrived on Exodus and the person in local must have had one terribly tough animal to butcher because he was absolutely focused on getting that butchering knife super sharp. So focused in fact he never noticed me in local. Well, It was a gorgeous mobile home while it lasted. It had all the amenities, and only needed 8 bison to pull it, but into the endless void it goes. Oh well, maybe someone will get a chance at the smaller camper one day. It only requires 6 bison to pull, but lacks the hot tub that the full size one had.

    Heya, I just dropped 4 large crates to the harbor with 600 x 70ql wool string and 600 x 70ql cotton string, they lie in the water between the grassy two tiles in the water and the harbor dock. I will send you a woodscrap as COD for those crates, as was agreed many months ago. I hope to be able to attend the Impalong, last year I missed with all the Christmas fuzz...

    Not to be an ass, and I know people will look down upon this, but I don't believe the statue thieves did anything immoral. This is a pvp server, on a sandbox game, where there is no rule against theft, no rule against stealing enemy monuments, explicit, or implied. When players set up this memorial, they knew that it could be stolen at any point in the future. To think otherwise is either ignorant of the nature of the game mechanics, or wishful for changing epic into a heritage site amusement park. I feel for his friends, and family, and the loss in their lives from not having him around any more, but this sort of witch-hunt and shaming is disrespectful to his memory. Yes, I'm saying it: Shame on YOU, Zenity, for immediately assuming the worst, crying foul, and trying to make people feel horrible, without knowing the whole story. The real lack of respect here was making such outraged accusations without knowing the whole story, thank god our actual courts are more reasonable.

    A Trade transfer would also be cool^^ If that is possible, since the Bot messages transferred ingame start with <DiscordName> and Trade chat requires a WTB/WTS as first word..
