Well welcome to Epic PvP. While being new and running around a struggling low population server trying to find PvP we (couple others in BL) decide to go to JK lands and find some fights or deeds to raid or the stuff you normally do in Wurm PvP. Second time around find no one around starter deed and I saw some statues and the area wasn't deeded. Didn't think for a second it was a memorial for a person that played the game. How am I supposed to know what the name was. It's like seeing "paaweelr" for the first time. I just saw trophies that were not deeded and came all this way I'm leaving with something. Honestly if it was something important then it should have been deeded and not just out in the open. While running from guards didn't even try to look at the naming on the hotas. Not until I saw this thread did the message on the hota make sense. Other than that it was free loot. It's wrong for you to assume we (I) knew what was going on and all the long history and every single person that has played this game in the past. If you say you knew who did it then why didn't you message me? Next time make it a better memorial that seems more like a memorial and deed it or lose it (wurm moto). Not trying to be an ######, but sorry and how supposed to know. Do I ask people permission before taking things that are not deeded? Do I ask to raid a deed on Epic? I'm sorry for taking what I didn't know. We'll be returning the statues. We'll be in touch.

While I'm sure not everyone will be interested in the goings on of PvP servers such as Serenity, it is with heavy heard, and not a little sadness that I found today that all the HOTA statues left in memory of a Wurm player who was well known and respected on Serenity have been removed by another kingdom. The Paultrw Memorial has stood just north of Strongbox for quite some time now, in memory and respect of Paultrw, Wurm player, JK and all round nice guy, who passed a few years ago. Now I know very well who visited the area recently, And those who took these tokens of respect and memory also know who they are, given the number of statues taken, it could only have been a group, and given that all statues were planted, it could only have been an enemy kingdom. While I'm aware, and accept that on PvP servers items such as these can be taken as prizes, I personally would not have stooped as low as virtual desecration of a memorial of another player, be it same kingdom, or enemy, there are some things I consider beyond the pale in any game, and this sort of behaviour is just the sort of thing that I cannot stomach, nor I suspect is it something any player with the slightest sense of honour and decency will condone. I'm not asking that these items be returned, I doubt those who are so bereft of honour they would do such a thing will feel any pangs of remorse, rather they'll look upon this post as reason to celebrate, to crow and strut that they upset someone who cares about things like this. Yes, I'm deeply annoyed that such things as memorials to players who have passed away can be so easily and thoughtlessly vandalised, for a few HOTA statues that have no value to anyone on Serenity, other than the significance to those who planted them to honour and remember a fallen player. You can't replace things like this, some of those who planted them no longer play, the respect they paid gone now with the messages they left for their friend and fellow player. The Colossus remains, probably because it couldn't be taken, But the respect and honour shown cannot be replaced. Congratulations, you've completely lost any claim to honour and respect your Kingdom could have made, there's no honour to be had in robbing from the dead, only a stain that time will not erase.

Agreed with this. It's really awful in every way that someone would desecrate such a site. but it makes even less sense to set up these GM protected zones for these cases on PvP servers. As observed in this thread, the community is clearly willing to help restoring the site. That is exactly how it should work in a PvP server. No higher level of (GM) intervention is required.

As the title says, allow us to bind multiple actions to a key, just like the G keyboards and others 'macro' mouse allow some players to. It's a bit silly to have something possible outside of the game when we can already bind keys within the game... and could by the same logic bind multiple actions to the same key. Usual mind logic restriction, usual type of keybinds, no repeat, no macroing, just one key for <x amount> of actions and the same need of attendance to the game for example on a 5 action queue character : bind <key> ACTIVATE_TOOL1 IMPROVE ACTIVATE_TOOL2 IMPROVE ACTIVATE_TOOL3 IMPROVE ACTIVATE_TOOL4 IMPROVE REPAIR or bind <key> IMPROVE REPAIR IMPROVE REPAIR IMPROVE or the classical improve 'macro' being used by many of the aforementioned keyboards and mouse

That firepillar tip is great, I've already put it to good use, many years of playing and this is the first I've heard of it. One I use a lot is if you need to bash a ground floor outside house wall it always takes more than a hit or 2 unlike other walls. When possible if you temporarily add the tile next to it to the building you can bash the wall in a hit or 2 then remove the tile from the building. Saves time and wear on your maul.

i think everyone is giving wimble a bad wrap, i mean think about it mizova and joey have quiet a history of stealing kingdom drake sets and tearing the kingdoms themselves apart.... besides i thought wurm staff weren't allowed to create/be a part of rule breaking/ drama....

thread is dumb, on both sides. Wimble had his week of fun and LoA had an extra player to help them in pvp, mizova keeps 1.5s for apparent troubles. *slams hammer* end of case. Now go back to the "no drama kingdom" and printscreen quotes for the next kid that leaves oh and everybody knew wimble was 50000% troll/silly, so why you allowed him an account worth x, is just on you, and he even said he insisted he would wait, blame is on the side that couldn't wait for extra support. They know who they are, I don't see the need to name and shame people, it's not as if they'll be selling Hota statues on Epic, and they can't exactly run off with their loot to Freedom. It's not about what was taken, I don't see it as a theft, it's a pvp server, people are able to take items such as this, even when secured, if they are from enemy kingdoms, . No, my point is that this was a senseless act, each of the items was clearly renamed as a tribute to the player the memorial was in honour of, Hota statues are not exactly rare or even very desirable on Epic, they were not locked away behind fences or walls, there was no conquest here, no spoils of war or loot from a dead enemy, they were taken because they were there, with no thought to why they were there, or for teh lulz. I don't want memorials like this protected as |Heritage areas, that's not the point, it's not what I or many on Epic want, or generally approve of, No, for me this is a matter of honour and respect, we don't have to hate our enemies, we don't have to grief their deeds, drop dirt on their fields and slaughter their horses, the memorial was doing nothing other than honouring a player and friend to many on Serenity, ther was no reason to take those statues, other than willful ignorance, or deliberate malice, I prefer to err on the side of ignorance and lack of honour and respect.

Well to make something clear for wimble, because Mizova what you said here and what you said in Discord seems to vary. he can say whatever he wants once he has left, he isn't subjected to sensorship on how he feels. He left without stealing and gave back the account. I only see 1 side here that has actually taken something. The other words wimble has spat out, after everything was given out, is clearly through frustration of his situation and how he was left out of pocket. I would simply stop the drama from escalating, give him the money then move on with your kingdom and let him move on with his money. You didn't tell him to not use the gems and he used them in pvp to support you, so therefore the gems were used as they were meant to be. Tldr: I thought your kingdom was a no drama kingdom. Btw: me and Wimble have a dedicated drama thread for our hatred, so im not defending him because i like him, I'm defending him because you said he left, didn't steal anything and are now using printscreens and other quotes out of context to make him look bad, like you always do. And kix can't defend himself because he is banned from the forums, not because he doesn't have an account, he did have a forum account, so yeah.

I lost plenty of good friends along the years on Wurm and i would hate to have their memorials (large or small) desecrated. It's not much of the matter of the value of the items, or that it's allowed, or that's it's PVP... it's a matter of respect and the unusual tight bonds we have on WurmOnline. Unlike many others games, we are a small community and we know each others (to some extent) and that kind of behavior is a complete lack of respect, honor and any kind of decency.

I do not agree with gm-protected herritage sites on epic. If a memorial is to be made then make it at the starter and with "regular" items. And even then the starter deeds are raidable. It was a shitty thing to be done but hota decorational statues in the end is a reward from hota/pvp. What it really comes down to is that you choose to decorate with the statues in a way you saw fit. There shouldn't be staff magically protecting your way of using the decorative rewards on a pvp server.

Answering questions in the CA Help often brings back memories of when I was learning to play the game back on Wurm Unlimited. Even when I first started playing Wurm Online I was still learning new things that blew my mind. So I made a little list of things that had me speechless and amazed. 9: Fire pillar. On my first day on Wurm Online i learnt this neat little trick. Lets say you are in a cave underground but you want to know where that is in reaction to above ground? Normally you would have to count tiles. Instead you can press F1 and go into your console. Once there type firepillar - all one word and nothing else. It will create a lava tile on the surface that only you can see and logging out will make it vanish again. It is not real lava either - it's just a visual effect. A marker to help. 8: Server hopping. Wurm Online was my first experience of travelling between servers. So getting in a boat and going from one server to another sounds simple but getting to the right side of the server can be a bit daunting and confusing for a brand new player. If I'm leaving the south coast of Deliverance how do I end up on the South coast of Exodus? When you cross a server border it throws you onto the opposite of what you just left. So if you leave a North border you arrive on a South. This is where "Server Hopping" is used. In the example I used I would travel to another server first before going to Exodus, turn my boat straight around and sail straight off again. This practice was first explained to me not long after I first started Wurm Online by Propheteer who even drew me a little drawing in MS Paint to help me out! 7: Demolishing a house. I would sit there all day bashing down a house one wall at a time if nobody had even shown or told me about this one. When you go into your manage buildings menu at the far right the demolish building option is cut off and hidden most of the time. You have to drag the window open a little wider just to see it - otherwise you wouldn't even know it is there. 6: Combining items. When I first started playing wurm I realised I needed to combine material to make items. What i failed to realise was that I could use shift to select more then one in my inventory to combine more then one at a time. Or even quicker way to combine items is to open your crafting menu and drop the stack in a box and hit the little combine button underneath! 5: Keybinds. There is nothing worse then what happened to me when I discovered keybinds. I attended my very first impalong and the leatherworker did not show up. During the event I decided to grind my leatherworking so that I could try to improve all the leatherworking items people had brought along with them. After a long weekend of nothing but improving leather I made a comment about how badly my wrists were hurting. A friend then made a comment about keybinds to which I replied "Key what?" All this time I had been selecting a tool then right clicking on the item to improve and then repair. You cannot play this game properly without keybinds so if you do not yet know about them please please look them up. At the very least have keybinds for digging, mining, improve and repair. 4: Lava kills veins? This one I only found out vry recently. I mean like within the past couple of weeks. Perhaps it is simply because I've never had a path of power character before and none of my friends have ever had one either. So we had a white dragon trapped in a cave but it had mined the tile we wanted to make an entrance. We moved back a tile only to find an iron vein was now between us and the dragon. Noizhead and his friends blew my mind when they erupted the tile above the iron vein into lava. Then cooled it down turning it back into rock. As simple as that the iron vein was gone without having to spend countless hours mining it out or countless more trying to cast distingrate. 3: Inventory groups. I love to have a nice tody and organised inventory. So the day someone told me you could make inventory groups was a blessing! Now I have a group for my tools, another for misc stuff and another for pvp stuff. Helps prevent your inventory getting cluttered up and means you can find things alot quicker. 2: Arrows in crafting menu. Just before starting to play wurm online I remember spamming out spindles for a friends so that he could sac them for favour with his Vyn priest. This was on Wurm Unlimited and before the cooking update where spindles were pretty much the meta for Vyn priests. Each time I went to press my push to talk in the comms to say something to my friends all they could hear was rampant clicking of my mouse. Upon asking I kept saying - I have to keep queing up the spindle creation. The guys in the comms were confused. This went on for days and finally I misclicked and hit the arrows on the crafting window which allowed me to queue more then one a action. in fact with my character I could queue eight spindles with one click. I was so happy with this discovery I asked the lads to see if they knew about this..... of course they did ._. 1: Decorative toolbelts. Perhaps one of my fondest memories of learning about wurm. As a leatherworker on Wurm Unlimited I remember being the first to create a 90ql toolbelt on a server. I sold it for 5s and then was so excited by this sale I dived into my alliance teamspeak telling them all I had just managed to sell a "decorative toolbelt" to this sucker for 5s. The channel fell silent and someone replied slowly...."Decorative toolbelt Miz...?" It took them a few moments to realise I was making toolbelts for people on wurm without even realising they did anything. Another thing I did not know until much later on either was that you can use the number keys to select the tools in your toolbelt as well! Mindblowing stuff eh? Anyway would love to hear from other people what things blew their mind when learning to play wurm

Had an idea, earlier I was passing a guard and they looked down. Gave me the idea that I have seen in other games where rank/royalty titles would cause npc to curtsey or bow. That would be a great way to reward the vet players for those titles you get over the "years"...hint, to have the guards and/or even merchants do some acknowledgement action depending on the rank of that title showing. "The guard bows and acknowledges (You/ Your Name), Duke of Lomaner" ...just a thought.

Yikes, honestly alot of the people who are able to speak English as a second or third language have a better written command of the English language than a good portion of native speakers in my experience. There's absolutely no way I'd ever feel comfortable trying to guess someone as being having English as a first or second language based off of text alone. All this being said, it's quite often easy to spot the stereotypical ignorant American on the internet because of somewhat ridiculous debates and statements as your friend has come out with.

Honestly, these days I think Epic should just be the same rate as Freedom but allow a curve when creating/imping items. That way, epic can grind on epic and still portal to freedom if it goes quiet. Right now, i've seen for myself there is no point doing an intense click based grind with 1 second timers or w/e on epic, when you can't go freedom. Better to go freedom, slow grind on freedom and have the choice of both. :/

Shrimpiie would be a very rich man from all the rare+supreme tool heads i've sent him. You can pick up supreme shafts/handles for like 50-60 copper each, if they had a 1/3 chance to make a glimmer weapon or whatever that'd just be stupid. How long until people ask for the scrap rare into rare bone mod from WU?

+1 Be nice to put good use to the skulls and finally give scale level armour a matching helm.

The implications of this statement are pretty big. If you can go to a safe place on Freedom to skill what's the point of having a deed etc on Epic? You only need a deed in order to maintain a supply of horses, weapons etc. So realistically one deed could suffice for each kingdom's PVP needs. This is turn means that Epic becomes a place less lived in meaning fewer accidental encounters and targets of opportunity. Instead people can skill in safety and occasionally come over to fight on Epic knowing that everything of importance is safely protected back on Freedom. So with time, less deeds and lower population are likely on Epic except for the planned big battles between kingdoms. It's interesting that we've adopted a model which supports a more protected lifestyle rather then encouraged the older Epic view of nothing is really protected, PVP could happen anywhere including home servers.

You are missing the point, cedar has reduced decay ticks. A coal pile is a container that decays therefore it takes less decay ticks over a given period of time. To change it would require special coding so coal pile containers worked differently. End of story. As for there being a benefit, got me thinking that there is a fairly large benefit actually if you need a large amount of ash but are not on every day to collect it. Assuming standard mechanics apply, I'd say the items in the cedar coal pile (container) take less decay as well. Since ash decays so fast that one has to be rigorous to collect it everyday, using cedar piles might give a bit more room to delay logging in to collect. That could be useful from time to time if you know you will be off line for a couple of days while the piles decay down.

You use 'core concepts' like there's a plan beyond "hey this is cool, we'll add this next'. Wurm is nothing but reactionary.
