I am very happy to announce.. Newspring Bridge is now finished. My very big thanks go to the people who joined in and helped with materials and their time. Bigsmith Cevanne Ekib Gheen Harthim Keyos Nacciwa Naiani Neenee Nefer Nempis Ostentatio Renate Siluroo Tantail Thorakkanath and all the people in Newspring who remained anonymous to me, but I know they helped. If I have forgotten someone, please forgive me and hit me with a stick, twice. It has been a long run and I am not the best record keeper. Thank you all! From mainland, north to Newpsring, south.

Alliance mate of mine, Darmalus, questioned why we cant get sand from rock shards. I agreed. Pick axe on rock shards(20kg) makes gravel(17.5kg or 18kg). Can be used to pave gravel as well. Then you use either a large maul, or imo a Grindstone, to grind it into sand(15kg or 10kg). I the weight is up to debate for balance, but I believe those weights would work well. EDIT: Oh ya, and this frees up dirt being converted to sand and then deleted from the server. I know about the dirt spell, but only those who actually own the priest really use it.

It would be really great if we could have some new tameable animals added to Wurm. Here's a list of things I'd love to see new lairs for: Badgers (can help players dig when tamed) Moose (rideable, hitchable) Salamanders (rideable) Polar bears (winter spawns) Snow leopards (winter spawns) Phoenixes (must be kept inside a house with a roof if you want to stop them flying away, have healing powers when tamed) Panthers Ducks/swans Doves Flamingos Sea horses Foxes Rabbits Minotaurs Raccoons Monkeys Camels (spawn in deserts) Pangolins / armadillos Bats Beavers Pandas / red pandas Mammoths Owls Mini dragons (smaller, cuter versions of normal dragons, not nearly as strong and can be tamed and penned without bashing fences; maybe give tiny amounts of loot; can be bred like normal animals) Fairies (prettier versions of goblins, with wings but maybe can't fly) Goats If adding animals is going to be too difficult, it may be easier to change current animals so that they have more functions or variety in the game. Option one: Let more animals spawn from lairs (thus giving champions and other conditions) and bring back old animal lairs that have been missed since they stopped spawning. Here are my ideas: Dogs (bring back lairs) Deer (bring back lairs) Tortoises (new lairs, plus increased spawns) Pigs (new lairs) Sheep (new lairs) Hens/roosters (new lairs) Pheasants (new lairs) Hell hounds (new lairs) Lava fiends (new lairs) Better yet, let all animals spawn from lairs! Option 2: Let more of the current animals be tamed/charmed or dominated. Suggestions: Spiders (tame/charm) Lava spiders (tame/charm) Whales (tame/charm) Anacondas (tame/charm) Dolphins (tame/charm) Octopi (tame/charm) Huge sharks (tame/charm) Sea serpents (dominate) Option 3: Make or bring back more types/colours. Ideas: Unicorns (multi-coloured for different conditions) Dogs (different breeds) Cats (different breeds, including a non-aggressive house cat (white and fluffy) that can eat fish and meat from unlocked fsbs) Wolves (different colours) Dragons (different colours: gold, pink, purple, silver, etc.) Option 4: More conditions. Maybe make these apply to animals that don't spawn from lairs rather than animals that do. Speedy: extra speed trait, like fleeter movement. Ghostly: can move through walls like fog spiders, though maybe make it just certain types of walls so they don't become a complete pain. Super: champion size but without the extra strength, size applies to rideable animals too. Shy: flees from people like bison, hard to catch. Rare: shiny like rare objects. Helpful: has a random chance of repairing nearby objects. Fertile: males and females can pass on the trait rather than just females. Docile: non-aggressive even for animals that are normally naturally aggro. Chameleon: blends in with background (not including outline, and maybe make the blending not perfect so they're not completely invisible). Option 5: Bring back the lighter colours for conditioned animals! It would be great if each condition had its own subtly different colour, but if that'll be too difficult, I'd be happy to have them back to being slightly lighter than normal - it makes them more interesting and easier to spot. Option 6: Make Christmas animals a yearly thing! I'd love to see more French hens and ring rams, plus some new ones! Additional idea: Create some common, non-aggressive animals that can be killed with low FS. That'll be helpful for new players.

currently you've gotta hover over each individual crate rack to see what its name is, im suggesting a sign on it like so: i realize you can make large signs and place them in front, but hey whatever i would like this better

Right now I occasionally get full food when meditating on a low QL rug. Before 1.3 this was a fun little bonus, but now it's definitely a drawback. When my food bar gets filled, that's a ton of food affinity time I am suddenly missing out on. My suggestion to fix this is to only get the refresh on rugs above QL50. Or even better, remove the refresh chance entirely, anybody who has enough meditating to regularly get the refresh will be far more interested in using their food bar for temporary affinities. To give you an idea of how annoying this is, I was dedicated enough to have over 95 meditating from before 1.3 and will not be meditating for skill at all until this is changed.

Is the Wurm team doing anything this year for Halloween? I remember a few years back the one on Independence, I enjoyed it immensely. The Midsummer event was a good start just wondering if the trend plans to continue. Thanks. What kind of events would you want added?

Just noticed we are getting overrun with praying mantises as the fall season starts. What a great creature they would make in Wurm!

These are my favorite helpful garden insect. I love them and yet fear them in their pose and manner of walking about they are haunting and tingly spooky some. I just have a huge golden one reside in my flower garden in rl. This winter i'll buy an ootheca/the egg case from which i'll spawn hundreds in the spring..looking forward to it. This could be fun addition yet if we are to add another creature i'd really vote for mammoth. many uses on pve and ivory crafting..and good for pvp for war beasts.

Please no. Sandstone maybe, but general rock no. Not all rocks in life have sand in them. All sandstone has sand though. I will say this again. -1. (+1 for possible sand from sandstone but the reality is you can't get both sandstone shards and sand, you'd get one or the other)

As it stands, your account doesn't have much of value. It has the attributes on the 40ish range, which is good, and decent gathering skills, which is nice, but leaves the buyer with little to work on for easy attribute gain. That seems to have been the bulk of your grinding. Fine Carpentry, again, is a nice skill, but not too valuable for other than deed work, which in general finds very few buyers. Stonecutting, again, is nice, but not of much use. Its one of those things that improves quality of life, but not a deal breaker. Fighting skills are pretty abysmal for pvp, having all the wrong skills sought for Chaos. Good enough for freedom, but thats about it. All in all, a low tier account with some potential but with a lot of work needed to bring it up to par. As it stands, I value your account for about 60-75e. If you want to increase value without much grinding and time sink, your option is imple. Meditation. If you want value on your account level meditation with either Path of Knowledge or preferrably Path of Insanity. Any other path and you shoot your value in the posterior. Other things that will exponentially increase the value of your account are skills such as Weaponsmithing, the Plate Crafts (Metallurgy, Plate Armor Smithing and Coalmaking), Shield Smithing, and other similar crafts. Thing of it as in terms of usefulness. If you rather go the fighting route, Fight skill to 85 or higher, Medium Maul, Huge Axe, Archery, Long Bow, and Short Bow. But if you go the fighter route, seek higher meditation with path on insanity. This is what PVPers look for, and what will get you a quick buy with a good price tag. In closing, work on your meditation. It is by far the most valuable skill with the least amount of time (grindwise anyways, it will take you months if not over a year to get to 70) and its the best money factor your account can get. Hope this helps.

and how cool would it look to have an iron fence spanning the gap under your bridge? Nice sewer grate look.

I really want to know if it gets you into the bridge foundation. On WU, I al frequently having to fly my GM into bridge footings to collect all the random things that fall through the cracks in the bridge. This would be a great way for players to recover their own lost items

+1 for any new creatures in Wurm! Though if it's going to be a praying mantis, maybe create a phobia mode version, they're pretty scary looking...

With all the changes coming about some so fast they sneak in and i find them by accident and am silently thankful, yet wanted to give this idea another bump. How great would a seryll model of the scythe be as we can already make them from seryll they just sadly only show in iron model. PEES!!

hi. i have free deeds on my server and need a mod that will disband any deeds where the owner has been inactive for 30 days. this should be fairly simple to create.

I totally get your point, but I should point out that there were plenty of really elaboratly finished ceilings in medieval times. Ceiling quality is not really a factor of the age of mankind, but more about the prosperity, during any of the ages. Finished ceilings were strictly a luxury. Settlers in the wild rarely had them in their 1 room shacks, but many of the multi-room, multi-floor buildings did. Applying finished ceilings should probably be time consuming and require higher skills. Hopefully not paving! Speaking of paving, I've always been disappointed that paving is the skill required to put flooring in buildings. If wood floors, it should be carpentry. If stone, should be masonry. I'd never go hire a road builder to put the floor in on level 8 of my house.

I must confess that I struggled over a fast tree spreading problem for over a week before I realized that a lower number INCREASES the rate of tree spreading. It's "odds" -- so when I lowered it from 20 to 10, then to 5, what I was actually doing was increasing the odds from 1 in 20, down to 1 in 10, then 1 in 5 chance of it spreading, LOL. You probably already knew this, but just in case!

I might do a instruction video later when I have time so check back, right now I'm building a 16384 map at height of 8192 so it takes a while to go threw the process of maps this size. When I do a video I will show you how to install java, How to work the generator, how to make custom height maps using photo shop and the wurm gen and piece them all together in a solid full map allowing one to have several islands and ocean mass. I will explain to you and show you what each thing does in the map gen. Be prepared to watch a long video as we walk threw the processes in using the map gen. Will also explain some issues I've read in this thread people have had and how to fix them. Some issues I will explain is the flat land mass and why it is flat and how to fix it with the mapgen. Some time tomorrow if and when I got time I will work on this video or videos might cut it into several parts cause this can take few hours making several maps and explaining the process and whats going on.

I would love to see hitching posts added to the game. They would have many uses. Imagine visiting someone and wanting to "park your horse somewhere". Or else if someone holds a player event or has a player establishment and wants to provide "parking space" for people to hitch up their rides. How immersive and cool that would be. It would have to work so that only the person who hitched the horse would be able to also unhitch it.
