    So im rolling along thru the southern desert, and what is that i see over a small mound of sand, it looks like the top of a pile of items! From what i can tell someone died out there and lost a significant amount of shiny stuff. Without going into details i roughly found: 1x Supreme tool 3x Rare tools A set of WOA Horse Shoes A set of slightly damaged medium q studded, with med AOSP. and about 10 other misc tools. Unfortunately it looks like most of the tools were purchased i could not find a consistent creator among any of the gear for clues to ownership. If you believe this is your gear send me a FORUM MESSAGE with a list of the tools mentioned and ill gladly return them. For now there all safely tucked away. It was very likely in the last few days, its a fairly traveled area, also if anyone happens to have seen the corpse earlier could maybe PM me a name?

    I think (suggest) it would be very helpful to increase the Hold capacity of Rowboats and Sailboats by enabling the Rowboat to hold 1 Small Crate and the Sailboat to hold 2 Small Crates. =Ayes=

    Inspired by the web application posted on the Build Houses guide made by Toni here, I decided to make an application that would also include the floor and roof material calculations, as well as making it multi-level capable. It also does the calculations per selection, and has fancy colors per level. You can find the application here, and the source code here for anyone interested seeing it or making any contributions. Any suggestions? Are there any materials that I am missing? Are there anymore bugs that are not listed in Issues?

    Hi everyone! After a few hiccups we're pleased to see the new huge update live! There's all sorts of things, from highways, to crate racks and new fence types, so let's get to it! But first... Patch Notes Highway update We've been busy setting up all starter towns with the catseyes and waystones. They will extend into the perimeter of all starter deeds allowing you to connect them to your highways. The highway rules will continue to operate for a while, we'll give notice when we begin to phase them out and replace them with the updated ruleset to incorporate catseyes. Map dumps! As promised, we have the new map dumps to coincide with the release of the highway update! The map dumps were taken earlier in August and we're currently looking at adding a new dump type into the roster showing off highways in the next rotation! While we will offer the stable one temporarily as a legacy client, it's really important you test this as soon as possible to avoid any major issues when we switch over.     FWIW the stars are still rotating from west to east when they should be going north to south to be consistent with the motion of Sol. And the orbital planes of the moons differ greatly from those on the stable client (although I suppose that might be intentional). In case anyone cares.

    I love the looks we have of many of the floors and roofs, from the top side. However, from underneath, it is very rough and unfinished looking, like you would only have in a barn, or crawl space in a basement. I would love to have a few choices of finishing treatments to apply to the underside of the roofs and floors. Plaster, fine carp, detailed stone work, repainting, etc. Maybe when starting the floor of a certain type (such as Stone Slab), you then have to choose an underside finish: none, plaster, box wood, beams, logs, clay tile, marble, mosaic stone, etc. For plaster and the wood options, should then be able to paint the plaster (also between the beams) to really liven up the insides of our houses. Would need to add extra materials to complete. Might also want to make it a stand alone option that could be applied to existing ceilings (roofs and floors), so folks don't have to rip and replace.

    So I looked at the forum to find anything about saddlebags and indeed the community has quite a bit about wanting it. So, I will not go into detail about it other than... Saddlebags would be a great addition to wurm! Seriously. Now onto the Small Carts. "But wait Enigma... There are small carts." Yep, I think it would be a nice addition to the game to have the ability to hitch one horse to the cart. it makes sense to me considering that is what people do with horses. They hitch them to stuff they would rather not pull on their own.Of course you would still have to lead it. The other thing that would be a nice addition is the ability to load a single Large Crate or two Small Crates in the Small cart. I cannot count the number of times where I needed to carry just one or two crates somewhere or needed a crate in a location where horses are unable to go. Hitching up a large cart for one crate just seems... excessive to me. In these instances I am forced to spend a large amount of time pushing or pulling it to the location. Even if the ability to hitch is not going to fly, loading into a small cart would be awesome. Well theres my 2 cents worth of Saddlebags and Small Carts!

    So I have the best affinity ever, and it is toys. I've spent a lot of time playing with my yoyo (that's definitely not innuendo), and with my puppets even though it's completely pointless to do so. Aside from getting titles, there is nothing to gain from using toys, so it would be great if we could potentially get rare chances when using toys (for all 3 people on Wurm that use toys). And Vynora does like yoyos, so maybe she would send me some tips for doing some cool yoyo tricks for her This is probably my first and last suggestion since everyone will just tell me to stop playing with toys and grow up, but I still feel that making an occasional copper coin from puppet shows and yoyo tricks would be awesome.

Might or might not ever actually happen. Right now it's just that one table, i turned it into a container and the first item inside will be shown on top. In theory i can extend it to other items, but they need to be manually chosen, container-ified and the Z offset determined experimentally (since the server doesn't know anything about models it can't know how big a table actually is). The item can't be pushed/pulled (will always be on center of the table), and for now can't be rotated (though i hope to remedy that). Bigger tables maybe will get 3 slots for items, like left/right/center.

    Hiho, with more uses for paper, papyrus, pens and dye it would be nice to have a suitable furniture. The smallest setup for all the stuff needed is either a small crate/bsb with a container for pottery jars/flasks for ink and a pen next to it or a cart with anything in it. The organization of containers like the larder has would be great for it. A compartment for storing paper in that works like a crate/bsb and holds 20-50 pieces of paper or wax seal resources. A inkpot for dye that works like a container for small amounts of dye like 0.5kg. Some drawers for pens, written recipes and other items for fine crafts. Large enough to store some items in it but small enough to be reasonable. Similar to small chests. It could also be used for the tailoring professions or other skills that don't need a heatsource. It could look similar to this.

    if it's done purely for destruction the GM team may take action against the person who does it. We'll be looking at how the updated ruleset will work as this rolls out. Gm's wont help, this system is to give control back to the players. Once the link is severed the catseyes will take decay hits over a period of time. if it's a reroute, a catseye can be upgraded to a waystone and the reroute done, with one catseye being based on the old link allowing them to decay.

    You assume too much. I don't come to Chaos for uniques. I don't afk sail on chaos. I didn't buy my account. Yes you can out run a drake spirits in decent horse gear and out sail a drake spirit after 26km/h. You seem to not have enough experience with them to know that. Usually on land you trap them in a cave. There are no caves in the water and a wind dropping from a gale to a breeze at 10km/h just sucks. You also make it seem like if a suggestion posted that its getting changed in the next patch. I doubt any change would come of this and was a frustrated post from having to dodge 2 of them as soon as I crossed border. At of writing this on deed: [16:35:11] 14 other players are online. You are on Chaos (452 totally in Wurm). I think chaos is getting over populated. Need to watch out for all the noobs trying to take over.

    Exactly my point as to why these Catseyes are *inferior* protection to the current Highway Protection Rules, which I already went into in my OP. A diagonally sloped highway hardly compares in function and eye appeal as one that was originally created with care and leveled diagonally. Things might work out this way but at the sacrifice of created highways that are flat diagonally since then there is really no recourse by their creators to call GMs about slopes later dug into them. Now to do this it will be perfectly fine (dig down the sides). Think about steep drop-offs at one side of the road that these Catseyes wouldn't prevent but rather to "Level" up the road again first the Catseyes must be destroyed after much time bashing them (with only a Crowbar steel tool?), then pavements removed adjacently in order to use the "Level" option. A poor mechanic for Catseye "protection" which should at least have prevented altering the Highway in ANY manner (sides included). The whole Catseye/Waypoint system while possibly reducing GM intervention is a poor exchange for the current Highway Protection Rules which must be enforced by GMs. Yep, when you create a multiplayer world where highways are the main means of getting from one place to the other the game Developers through the use of GMs must monitor and control the situation. Catseyes and Waypoints are a sort of cool eye candy with their navigation and directional system but as a Highway Protection mechanism they loose their way. =Ayes=

    Someone on my post pointed me to this idea and I think both ideas could be mashed in one concept. It may be an easier interface than what I was visualizing. The motivation for me posting such an idea was both to relieve the micromanaging concept of the current deed system and "break the ice", as it were, for people trying to become part of a community. I really hope that we can eventually have a combined option of both ideas! EDIT: +1

    The new mechanics prevent highways from being made impassable, while they can be dug they cannot be dug further than 20 slope (28 diagonally, 14/14) meaning that at all times it remains able to be walked. This means that a highway protected by catseyes cannot be destroyed without removing the catseyes. The rules had a lot of grey areas, and created a lot of paperwork for the GM team, who had to spend a lot of time running around and chasing up modifications,. This places more control back in the players hands, allowing them to build these roads and protect them without requiring the GM team to constantly monitor them. This is a mechanical replacement for the rules, and we're aware that there will still be some need for rules around highways in regards to griefing and destroying them without reason, but every 2 tile wide road will no longer be protected and the amount of GM paperwork will be reduced, allowing them to spend more time helping players with other issues. TL;DR There will be a transition period, and some rules against needless griefing will still remain. Not every 2 tile wide road will be protected and GM's wont be needed to okay their modification or removal.

    Updates. Let's see. My dredge has one too many holes in it, my shovel is blunt once again, my hands are sore of squeezing lemons and pretty sure I've developed stonedust allergy. On a positive note, there are other people probably feeling the same because I've got huge shipments of dirt and other materials from several nice persons. We are over half way there. Oh and yes, THANK YOU DEVS for the dredge improvements! So many thanks! Better late than never, eh
