They don't warn me that they will be missing me even after three years passed. I would have to admit that Wurmians saying hi to me on facebook, steam, or other means over the past 3 years makes me smiles and inflate my chest of 'oh my, they still remember me!' I left three years ago with this reason: And so I think some might interested to know what kind of 'productivity' I have. A few months after I quitting Wurm I start to work for Baidu (Chinese google so to say). I start there at first doing translations from English to Indonesian for android game apps then move on to providing localization for Chinese android games, curate games for Baidu's version of google play store, being the community manager for their forum, and so on. The current project is cooperating with a small dev team to create a mobile RPG that is local themed but with spices of modern anime taste. The game is called 'Legenda Nusantara', it is not fully launched yet, and only available in the Indonesian language. Here are some screenshots of the game: My job desc is 'game designer' but I do a variety of things from folklores and references research, coordinating team, story writing, to community managing. I also do freelance work for a puzzle maker company called PuzzleBoss, I operate their CMS to develop new puzzles for people to play on their Android phone and tablets. In my spare times, I have found myself interested in roleplaying and going back to Minecraft. First I was joining a Minecraft roleplay server, but when that server is dying, I decided to make my own, called AEnasan. It has its own website, and also extensive wiki, but now it is gone since there weren't many people joining us and I lost interest in Minecraft RP due to things like hard work as server owner (my fault, of making the server requires a lot of custom contents) and unable to online at peak time to do RP. It was great when it last tho, I even remake Deathfell with a statue of Viletona (a deity inspired by Libila. Sadly, somehow I don't have the picture of the finished one). Here are a few pics of it. I played a bit of MOBA game Paragon and joined an art group. Right after they start working with the developers, I quit because I lost interest in the game. (imagine playing MOBA with 300ms ping that sometimes decides to go 1000ms... it is not fun). Not much awesome memories but I draw some stuff I guess. Nowadays, I am doing a few forum-based roleplay on Iwaku. One of the RP almost reaching 10k replies which will be around 2000 pages if they were pasted into a word document. This one RP, that taken in the world of Sundalle, have inspired me so much that I created more than 30 artworks for it. Here is some of them. Besides that, I have invested on many many acrylic paints and goes back on doing some traditional paintings. A little shameless advertising, you can see more of my artworks at https://rosedragoness.deviantart.com/ I will be back on Wurm in a few days or something. Afterall, I got free time at work now and I feel I want to try the idea of roleplaying to a bigger extent than before in Wurm. Cheers! Edit: I see the place where my old deed was is undeeded, although it is turned to a wilderness. One of my old accounts irisdragon still accessible too so I am happy with that. Thanks for everyone in game that kindly helping this becoming-newbie-again person. xD regards, rosedragon

*Sighs* So much good stuffs here that I would chime with the others that there should be more than one winner so we have more tapestries. I will join with one of my wurm fanart that I believe reflect the most of wurm among all my fanarts: Impalong

Well, looking back at my first days in Wurm, here is my story - funny and a wee bit embarrassing : It is the day of Tears in week 4 of the starfall of the Leaf in the year of 1017. Young Yaga, totally unexperienced and confused by this new world of Wurm, is trying to find his way from a strange place called Greendog through the dense forest to the northern shore of the freshly born and almost empty island of Deliverance. From time to time he passes one of the very few settlements and notices mysterious translucent shapes, looking like ghost warriors. "Spirit Templars" they are called - but what are they? Avatars of the godlike guardians of peace (aka "GMs" )? The ghosts of other players who have been killed? Being all alone in this country, he has nobody to tell him... And then, in the middle of a threatening forest, trying to avoid the many hostile and deadly creatures roaming the lands, he suddenly hears a voice saying: [10:30:49] <Spirit templar> I'll take care of Young black wolf! So, there seems to be someone out there trying to help a poor newbie, after all! What's the polite way to react? Here is what Yaga replies: [10:31:13] <Yaga> Thanks Needless to say, he never got an answer from that templar!

Every time I sneeze it probably because a Wurmian been talking about me! I have submitted to the tapestry competition before writing these, although I do not bother of creating a new art. Yet.

Many rares have no apparent added functionality, why not let extra runes be attached? One rune for normal, two for rare, three for supreme and four for fantastic. Some runes might need to be one-per item for balance, but most wouldn't need any extra balancing.
  7. 3 points
Please make this happen. It's so disappointing to tend a farm get a rare roll and then get nothing for it. It's one of the few rare rolls that are pointless and makes a player go awhhh. Should be a coin like fighting, burying, foraging etc.

If your cart normally goes 20km/h, change it to 15 with a heavy load and 25 when light (or empty). Seems more natural. Maybe a little less on the slowdown and more up the speed boost for light? This happens with riding a horse. Why do wagons and carts ignore extra weight?

My first suggestion for Wurm Online (according to which, I'm 617 days old - it's taken me almost 2 years to come up with a worthwhile suggestion) is such: Make tables (and consequently, chairs and stools) useful by making the action of two people sitting down at a table summon a menu for a mini game, something simple like checkers, tic tac toe, or chess.

The third day in Wurm I was wondering how to make enough irons to buy a new pottery bowl from a merchant after losing mine because I ran right up to a troll because they had cool graphics...but that is another story. I found an iron vein and very excitedly told people in my local that I can now make my own iron coins!

If it were me i wouldnt be publically making the problem larger and probably upsetting the friend further (even without names there will always be more people than you realise who can put two and two together, its a bit embarrassing really and potentially creates awkward conversations for them to have with people when all they want to do is leave it alone). I would try to reach out to them and if they refuse to respond then all you can do is respect that as thier choice to make. It sucks but thats life and we dont always get the answers we are looking for, if they were a friend worth keeping then they would probably be trying to work things out, if they arent then it suggests they dont think you are worth trying. Fairweather friends come and go, friends with limited and specific shared interests/circumstances come and go, real friends try to work out differences and last for life. Maybe she needs a break to clear the head and will talk when she cools off but you can not force someone to talk especially not by being destructive.

I don't think any explanation is really needed for this level of awesomeness, but I would suggest that there is a loud 'clang' sound when it hits.

I miss the reason why the dragon was called ponyslayer ;-; [20:34:48] The venerable starving black dragon hits mature fat Warrun deadly hard in the calf of the right foreleg and damages it. [20:34:48] The mature fat Warrun is dead. R.I.P. [20:35:01] You open yourself to an attack from The venerable starving black dragon. [20:34:59] Ouch! That hurt! [20:35:04] You will now fight defensively. [20:35:06] You are now too far away to attack The venerable starving black dragon. Guy ran up behind me. One shot my horse and I had to jump off the cliff to escape. Was like a scene from Jurrasic Park

My first week in Wurm, I went on a Grand Adventure up in a remote winding mountain road with twisty turns marked by stone demon statues. Then out of the blue, I got a text message in my Event window: A Young Fat Cliffchaser grazes. I turned around and ran without stopping until I got back to the bottom of that mountain. I had NO idea what a 'cliffchaser' was, and I really did not care to learn. I was pretty sure it sounded like something that would eat me. It took me several weeks before I realized it was ... a baby horse. Another time, I was pushing my way through an Olive grove, when my mouse highlighted an object somewhere in front of me but behind the trees: "Jackal." I thought for sure there was a jackal just ahead of me, and again turned and ran. I ran a LOT, those first days.

Start to use a real random number generator for the game and especially for the /random command. A very good way to improve the RNG more properly: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/security/SecureRandom.html The current RNG in a nutshell:

I disagree, it is often criticized that rares are pretty overshadowed by the runes, because even those with appearant effects may not hold up to say a +10% quality rune; to allow rarity to piggyback on the runes would bring it back into the race pretty neatly, AND give rarity some added benefit across the board that is also often discussed in this forum section.

Delish, the new up-and-coming market place for all your needs! A few screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/xe8Ug Goal is to provide a market place at the server corner which will be easy to sail to from each and every server. The market will NOT be decorated in any excessive form, but will provide a large amount of stalls free to grab for whomever is interested. Target goal is around 200 stalls when all is said and done, but depending on activity of the marketplace that can easily be scaled both back and up. HUGE thanks to; Odynn - Helping with surface mining and making bricks for the structures DelightfulDee - Helping with surface mining and digging clay! Mani - Making mortar! Got an idea about bread now we use baking stone. Why not also have clay bread baking form to bake bread in. the 2nd idea is good old style dig down in dirt and cover the food to cook slowly, here we could use a clay cooking pot for that and cover with dirt.

I would like to make this post to follow up on something, Wurmhole brought up in his thread: https://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/154981-a-new-player-experience/ I've been playing this game for just about a month now, and I have had quite the journey. I started based on the recommendation of a close friend, and decided to drop a deed in the middle of nowhere because I like my privacy while getting to used to a game's mechanics. My friend sponsored the deed for me, so I could go into the entire experience with 20 Silvers for my deed creation and things didn't seem too bad. I started with mining, and when I couldn't find iron for a long time I asked in CA HELP what I could do and learned about rummaging from 3 different people. Later, a developer himself messaged and explained how rummaging works for getting iron in the beginning. Additionally, I was contacted in private by two more people who asked where I was at and offered to get me started with some iron and basic things for free. Unfortunately I was too isolated to accept this offer, but I was amazed at how much support the community provided. When buying premium time, or trying to, I was unable to do so and kept getting an error when trying to pay. Again, my friend jumped in and got premium time for me. At that point I decided I should try to get to know this community a little better and applied to be part of a deed with a new alt I created so I could be social with one and hermit with the other. Again, buying premium did not work so my friend got it for me. (Yes, I have provided the funds for her afterwards.) I applied to join a village that seemed promising with RP aspects and a lot to offer, and got accepted, so I went to the closest starter town and began my march to that location about an hour's walk (mostly on roads) away. I got there and contacted the mayor through forums, as he was unavailable in-game. After waiting a few days without being able to catch the person, I started getting a little impatient. After about two weeks I finally managed to get one of his villagers in local, who explained he isn't playing a lot at the moment, and also described having the very role I had been accepted for as well. Two days after that I became frustrated and asked the friend who brought me to the game for an invite to her deed and made my way over there. At the same time, I discovered that the spot I had chosen and spent a few days getting to for my own deed was miles and miles away from any clay, and too far out to get anyone there for a mailbox cast. After a few weeks of struggling, I have disbanded the deed two days ago. Fortunately my friend willingly accepted the both of my characters into her deed and I am living with her now. On the way there, I got hopelessly lost a fair number of times, a few times finding my own way again, but mostly being supported by random people who saw me in Local and immediately said hello and offered guidance. I was provided location information, a link to the community map for Xanadu, and even a free ride over to Newspring Island where my friend is located. All of this by complete strangers with no obligation at all to aid me. Some gave me free meals, others offered advise, and a few just provided encouragement but all of them were friendly and immediately willing to help out a new player. I discovered a passion for mining, so my friend gave me an enchanted pickaxe (teaching me about enchanting at the same time), and when I tried to buy a fast pickaxe to make my life a little easier, I got a 33% discount from the seller just because. This way I was able to afford a really nice pickaxe and didn't even lose the entirety of the 2 Silvers I was gifted when first buying premium time. People from my new alliance have since answered every single question I have had, making CA HELP almost obsolete, and the village I have joined provides anything I could possibly need. In my opinion, Wurm Online is a very difficult game to start with, and 16 euros every 2 months for every character seems like a lot of money and definitely makes you think twice. Spread out over two characters (and I have been told most people play more than that!!), that equals a fee of 16 euros every month just for playing the game and all its features, not including any deed maintenance or in-game currency. I have read debates about the cost for premium time here on the forums, and my opinion is clearly: It is expensive. Is it too expensive? I do not feel qualified to tell. In the end, I bought it and I will most likely continue to do so for as long as I enjoy the game. Back to the original point, it is a tough game to get into, the tutorial provides very little guidance as to what to do and I actually accidentally skipped a large part of it because I didn't realize I had to trigger the actual parts of it by walking near it, making it a less than ideal scenario for such a challenging game. Nevertheless, with almost constant support of the players, I was able to accept the quick loss of my first deed (it was just too challenging to be out there all by myself) and find something I truly like doing. For less than a month's playtime, that seems acceptable. Have I fallen in love with Wurm Online already? Perhaps. But one thing that is certain is that I have definitely fallen in love with the generous staff and the amazingly supportive players the game has to offer. Of course there are things, such as the tutorial, that I think aren't quite inviting, but in the end what kept me interested through my first month was the continued assistance and encouragement I received from almost everyone I met. Due to this, I can not say that I agree with the new player experience being unfriendly. If anything, it is very warm and welcoming in most cases, I dare say. Certainly, Wurm Online is not the most "new player friendly" game I have ever encountered but after looking at the game mechanics and the kind of people who play it, I am not sure whether that might not just be a good thing.

A couple days ago, my friend asked me if I remembered the first place we settled in. We were there for one night, but it was where I fell in love with the game. So it made me wonder how I thought about the game back when I started, and started reading chat logs I have saved from then. What silly things did you say when you were a newbie? If you still happen to have access to those logs, do you mind sharing? I will start with an event on day 3 of my adventures in Wurm. As we walked from the portal area coming from GV, I encountered this man on a horse who I thought was an NPC. After some confusion, he set both my friend and I with some food, a lump of iron, some tools and two cows to ride... yes, cows. We laughed so much at how silly we looked riding cows, but it was epic. We settled in a water level and horribly wet area and there it was where I cut my first tree. The next day I got a boat from a kind soul and we went elsewhere (Xanadu) where I settled. I took a moment to send our fellow wurmian a chat convo: Logging started 2016-11-10 [23:32:46] <Angelklaine> hi! [23:32:46] <System> Nirav is not currently available, please try again later. Rather than a kingdom on your shield I would rather see either a alliance or village, preferably village coat of arms. This would seem more traditional as well, I would hate to be stuck with a freedom kingdom tag on my shield for the same reason I don't wear a tabard on freedom.

Wagons and carts are naturally slow. Making them slower with a load (why would anyone ride empty carts and wagons when they are slower is beyond me.) Is penalizing someone for using them for what they are intended. Besides. If you were to apply weight like this, you'd have to apply it to everything, including boats. Good luck getting anywhere because your knarr full of dirt is doing 1km/hr -1

Trying this again with new hosting site. Photobucket decided to bork everyone who doesn't pay the ransom. (ie: their highest tier package for $400 a year). lol. Shame it's so hard to see the guy in the rowboat in front of this beastie. Edit: Adding this doctored version to show the guy in the boat. Kianga did this for me but didn't want to take credit so I'm giving credit anyway. Thank you.

First time I logged into Wurm was on old JKH in Newtown. I walked north over the landbridge and came across a Guard Tower. Right clicked a guard and saw an attack option. Needless to say, that didn't end well for me.

Why not make the dirt crate 1k? 800 x 7 = 5600 dirt per wagon, doesn't help much for market transactions either Other than that, yeh...good suggestion. Moving large quantities of items has always been a bit of a hassle. Had to move almost 500k veggies at once before... bit of a logistical nightmare, never mind the decay rate at the time too.

Hey guys, So some of you know about my Wurm videos, but I've decided to start doing Photoshop tutorials on my art channel as well. I thought my fellow Wurmian artists might find these handy. Admins, if you feel this does not belong in this section of the forum and rather belongs in Wood Scraps, feel free to move it. I wasn't sure which one would be more relevant to post to.
