Here's an idea, what do my fellow Wurmians think about skeletal statues? For example, when you kill mobs they drop regular small bones, large bones, skull, spine, rib cage not all at once just after killing many of the same type. After you accumulate a set amount of required bones you can create a skeletal statue of said mob. Kinda like the ones we have in science class of human skeletons and in museums! Wall mounts and display cases also

When digging everybody has experienced the message "You cannot dig in such terrain". Maybe we've stopped and wondered for a second why it sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't with the same number of trees next to us. But then we've just shrugged, chopped down some trees, and then continued digging. I'm here to report a breakthrough on this annoyance. First you have to understand that when you stand on a tile corner, the tile to the southeast of you is the tile at those coordinates. When you dig on that tile, the game checks that corner and the corner north, south, east, and west of it. If 4 or 5 of those are trees, you get that message. That sounds like it's correct, but the corners south and east of the corner you're standing on are two tiles away! Let's give a practical example. Emma Watson wants to dig a tile. She's really tired after a long day of Hogwarts so she forgets to cut down the trees first. But wait, she is able to dig here! Only three of those trees are counted. The one in the upper left hand corner is ignored. Later, after drinking some wizard coffee, Emma Watson tries to dig another tile. Remembering her previous experience and seeing only two of the four tiles around her are trees, she just goes for it. She is unable to dig here, despite only two of the four tiles around her being trees! Why? Because the five tiles checked are the tile southeast of her and the tiles north, south, east and west of that one. There are four trees among those so she is unable to dig. The easy fix for this would be to check the tile corner she's standing on and the tiles north, west, and northwest of it. These are the four tiles visually surrounding the player when the player is standing on a corner. If X of those four are trees, it makes intuitive sense that she would be unable to dig. That X could be either 3 or 4 while staying true to the idea that too many trees should prevent digging. tl;dr Emma Watson is right to be confused. The tiles checked for trees when digging are not intuitive and are further away than intended.

Hey guys, So I recorded a quick little video yesterday in which I decided to talk about why I've finally come to the decision to monetize my channel. It's not about the money, instead about increased online presence and prioritization on Youtube; and it's certainly worth a watch if you're a wanna be youtuber aswell. I just figured it might be astute to make a video being on the level about the reasons behind it instead of someone being like "yo dude wtf?". If anyone else has any additional knowledge on how Youtube works in terms of giving videos better visibility I'd love to hear your thoughts on it all. I'll throw links to the videos that I reference in my video down below, thanks everyone for your continued support! I'm actively playing Wurm again quite abit so ya'll can expect plenty of Wurm content coming up so I hope you stay tuned, much love.

The problem with having these resource tiles on the deed is that you can't *drop* dirt/sand to fill back clay or sand that is dug down, so they will just be dug into pits too steep for new players to dig further anyway. Also, filling them back to level is not something they will be doing either even if it were allowable. Having clay, peat and tar on the starter Village perimeter is the best solution, also for the reason that no one can later deed over it and block digging it (clay) as they did north of Green Dog on Deliverance. Not to mention that GD has no peat either, which is the perfect fuel for new players to use in forges. So if Esert is set up with these on perimeter they are much better equipped that a few other starter Villages that come to mind. =Ayes=

A Player purchasing 10 silver to buy premium is no different than a Player paying a subscription to another MMO or Online game... However once Rolf officially allowed Players to participate in the sales of characters/accounts and ingame items Wurm crossed a line in the sand and became P2W because of RMT. Now the ambition of players and their ability to spend as much real life cash as they choose... that effects the real life value of any character through Auctions alone raising and lowering such values in real life cash... makes Wurm P2W more than anything else. Players spending hoards of cash on their claims and deeds on Chaos and purchasing the characters they desire to win their conflicts proves beyond all doubt how P2W Wurm is.

I guess I am still confused, after all. If it is a very small number of animals involved (you say "six"), then letting those animals retire on your deed and taking care of them in their old age should not be a hardship for you. if it is a very 'large" number (people are noticing and talking, or you are increasing deed size to accommodate 700) then I am curious why you breed so many that you cannot care for. i am a large scale breeder of five speed ebony jet speeds (not to mention every other color under the rainbow and bison too) so I am aware of how fast they can pile up in the quest to get "clean perfect five speeds". However, if you are loathe to kill them out of a respect for animal dignity, then I wonder why you force breed so many of them to serve purely human whims. A three speed animal is not all that much slower than a five speed and deserves to be loved too. If it is for profit then it seems not out of concern for animal dignity, because you are effectively selling them into slavery with little regard for how the end user will take care of them, if you breed them because you simply enjoy them, then you should be willing to accept them flaws-and-all and not continue to force breeding to get perfect genetic specimens. (I am aware that they are "just pixels" however Wurm is not only a role playing game, but one that evokes deep emotions in people, so if you are going to PLAY wurm, you are usually going to LIVE Wurm) Obviously i have to come to terms with my own judgments and ethics and only you can come to terms with yours, but I think you should examine three four issues when you do: How much of this is for YOUR enjoyment (personal needs) how much takes into consideration the gameplay of OTHER players (community needs) from an animal ethics standpont, force breeding animals that you say you cannot care for yourself, just to achieve "genetic perfection", probably needs some soul searching, even from a roleplay perspective Artificially increasing the number of horses through mass breeding effectively means all other naturally occurring animals are denied their own right to exist and disturbs the balance of nature Anyway from a "legal" standpoint, I personally would privately PM Enki as in the Wurm universe, he is the final arbitrator of what is and isn't acceptable LEGAL behavior, and he is given wide latitude by Rolf to make those decisions. If he says it is fine, just tell anyone who asks that you discussed it with Enki and put them on ignore. If he says it is NOT all right, then you are bound to abide since he is the final judge jury and ... executioner.

Alright, this is the second time you've brought this up. Yes, my attitude toward you was regretful earlier, but we do have a bit of a rough past. So leaving that history and my feelings about you aside, I want to lay down the facts. As I told you, I don't have it out for you. I want us both to be able to enjoy the game, though as a developer - and a neighbor - and an alliance mate as well, I've had increasing complaints about your release program. I honestly was only mildly involved until I was hearing reports of branded aggressive creatures that you've released attacking players. I could not find these myself and I did not do a full investigation - I merely ran around to see if I happened by one. While I found your catch and release program an annoying and unintentional use of the branding functionality, I couldn't feasibly see how you'd ruin the hunting on an entire server with a few hundred branded animals. Then I was informed that you've increased your deed size to allow for over 700 branded animals to release. Then I was informed that you had intentions on expanding more. Lastly, recalling how our pathing works in Wurm, I realized that at this number you could very possibly destroy hunting in a localized area of the server. You have stated several times to me and others that your intention is to catch-and-release animals to prevent them from being killed. As a player and being in your kingdom on Chaos, I was well aware of your no-kill policies in your village there. I had not anticipated you to leverage a quality of life feature in PvE to force this policy on others to this extent. I did not try to make a case to get you banned. I actually suggested that you remove the brands from aggressive creatures to avoid issues in that regard. I also told you that I felt that you were misusing a feature, and that I was bringing this opinion to the team to fix it. To me, this is an obvious misuse of the branding feature and I feel we must now take steps to curb this in the future. I can see no viable game play reason to release branded creatures into the wild except to circumvent the creature ratio, which is pretty much what you've stated here. TL;DR: I don't want to get you banned. I feel you are misusing a feature. It's not up to me to decide if your misuse is a violation of rules, but it is up to me to bring this potential loophole and misuse of a feature to the team. My opinion is not an official dev team ruling, though it's also not something I've come to willy-nilly. I won't touch on the so-called "personal vendetta", except to say that I only wish I could play the game in peace.

I am not sure if it exists yet...but there should be a "Fantastic Recipe: Stone Soup". Atfer the story of the 3 soldiers who came to a town and got the village to help make a soup from a stone. You would need three people to make it in a cauldron. It would start with a stone or marble ..."stone" (even of a certain more/less kg) with three people in attendance to start the recipe. You would then continue on the one or all three people to add the normal base of water, potatoes, carrots, and an onion then or more herbs/milk/honey to finish the recipe. I would like see this in honor of the gift of giving...maybe allow a +5 to one or more characteristics or such...determined by Wurm. Please.

Date: To be announced (The goal is for June or July.) Indy Funworld is your amusement park, currently under construction. Upon completion of the park a fayre will be held. All the World’s a Stage The stage is set for you to get some friends together or your alliance to perform for your fellow Wurmians. That’s right a two story stage has been built at the park. Part of the fayre will be performances on stage! You can do a scene from a play, a movie or a book or write your own! Recite your favourite poem or any other performance you can think of. And yes, in between plays, puppetering is encouraged. So, form a team and start rehearsing! You will need to supply your own props, scenery and costumes. The stage is available for viewing and rehearsals (no full dress rehearsals yet), but do keep in mind construction is on-going. *For the fayre please keep all material family friendly. Thank you. Comedy Wednesday Wednesday during the fayre will be comedy day! You are encouraged to do stand-up, improv, slap-stick, funny skits or scenes on stage! Show your funny side to Wurm! *For the fayre please keep all material family friendly. Thank you. Jousting Tournament Soon to be built is the jousting arena, so get practicing with your spears on your favourite mount! Whether you ride a 5 speed horse or a crocodile, the jousting arena is the place to show off your skills. If it is ride-able then it will be included in the tournament. Remember entertaining the audience is as important as having your own fun! More announcements will be made closer to the date, but just wanted you to have time to pick a performance and rehearse as well as get your taming and spear skill up! Hope to see you at the fayre!

In the Sims you marry an NPC and have NPC children in a single player environment. Attempting to translate that to a multiplayer world could only work if you marry NPC and have NPC children. Marriage between players that creates player children would just create a moderator nightmare. If you want to date and or marry another player that is between you and that player. Nothing wrong with doing so, but no reason to code in marriage or ingame children. You could, in fact, even hold a marriage ceremony in game. I personally know a couple who held their marriage in real life and then 3 hours later had a ceremony in a game aswell. If you and your husband want to get married in game, find a priest and have it done. Nothing stops you there. Nothing in game actually stops you from having children either. Making marriage and having children a game mechanic though is just silly.

actually that is worse at least branding drops when a player quits and their deed disbands, but Caring Lasts Forever .... so for practicable purposes those animals will live a long greatly extended lifetime -- and never be killable. I don't think it is a frequent enough problem to change any game mechanics. Case by case still seems to work if it only comes up once in a rare blue moon. Don't change things that are not truly broken, as that's how things GET broken.

+1 to reasoning with Attenia in a kind way that she can understand. You have truly impressed me with your responses, @Brash_Endeavors. I wish we all could be as patient and level-headed as you. I am not a fan of Attenia's large-scale breeding program by any means, but because it (usually) doesn't affect me, I keep my mouth shut. However, that means when something comes along that does affect me, I react a little bit more hot-headedly, having kept my annoyances to myself for so long. Bottom line is, and I will maintain this stance no matter how harshly it comes out: If what you're doing (negatively) impacts another person's gameplay and you simply don't care because your needs are more important than theirs, then I think a bit of self-reflection and change (whether it be from within or by intervention) is in order. This doesn't include expanding your deed to accomodate 5-10 times the amount of creatures you could once have, but it does include the attitude that if your neighbors have a problem with it, it's "tough luck." This does not include branding animals or breeding large quantities of animals, but it does include releasing said animals to the wild where--believe it or not--they aren't your responsibility anymore, but become the burden of other players who either cannot attack or cannot enjoy them properly because of what... Selfishness? A simple solution, if this feature continues to be abused, would be to match the number of possible branded animals on a deed to the possible creature count of the deed itself. Then, all animals can live in peace and harmony on deed where they belong and it doesn't become anyone else's problem. However, it shouldn't have to come to this. I hope the incident does resolve naturally and by Attenia's choice. I hope this creates the realization for her that not everything revolves around her animals and that other people are affected by her methods of getting what she wants, but if it doesn't... Well, I tried. (And tried. And tried.) And I should clarify: my opinion of the situation has nothing to do with Attenia as a person. She is a fellow kingdom member and alliance mate, and while I do not agree with what she is doing, I will say she is a kind person with a big heart for all of these creatures. I wish I could get inside her head for just a moment to see things the way she does, so I could better help the situation, myself.

Based on my base thread in Community Assistance, here is the suggestion: Let Us Swap Genders. This is based on my current situation - I've accidentally created and prem'ed a character with the wrong gender... and unfortunately it's my main: Yldrania. What is supposed to be the Elven leader to an Elf-Inspired deed design is now instead of a pretty woman, a harsh looking man. Well, I love my male alts with their red eyes and black beards but on this particular character I NEED a gender swap. This could be a paid service, restricted to once per account or what not, even restricted to specific support requests with GM's is possible - any restriction is alright but please make it possible. Apparently this is actually super easy to do by changing a simple line of code, since the mechanic exists in the game already. I say: Wurmians, let's make gender swaps possible. So, let's discuss this Base Thread:

Haya. Over the years you end up gathering alot of junk, and trash heaps are really useful for getting rid of that junk. However, with the recent update where you can now drag loadables across other vehicles, I was thinking about why we can't load them into trash heaps now. Small crates, statues, benches, fountains, etc. are examples. Currently you have to bash them, hide them in a corner of your deed, or throw them off in a cave somewhere to get rid of them. It'd be nice if you could just chuck them into a trash heap instead. That's all, thanks for reading.

I'm aware that there have been suggestions like this before, but figured I'd refresh this a little. i suspect sociopath. this is not an insult, just an unqualified observation but it would explain alot. Attenia you're not just sharing land with people who play, you're shaping land for people who might. so much forthcoming innocence, waiting to be shattered by a megalomaniac. Releasing 700 branded animals into the wild, aggressive or not, is madness. unless you're the only `true` soul that plays. which from your perspective, you might well be. again, not an insult. but it's the only thing that makes sense. this has been an interesting read. Griefing is bannable. releasing herds of branded animals especially the aggressive ones, is griefing. there's your rule. the non aggressives?.. the animal's function in the game is removed when you brand and release them. this lessens the experience of others and if chronic, could also be considered, griefing the game. I hope my consideration is not out of place and i pray that it makes sense.

Hello, I am myself a returning player to Wurm after a year break. I had been looking for a village to join for the past week (I got some invites to small villages, though), however, it was not exactly what I was looking for. I was trying to find a village with active players (est. 5-10), not a village with 2-3 people or a huge city. Unfortunately, I was unable to find such village, thus, I decided to at least give it a try and make one myself. As for now, I have found a nice place (yet to be discovered fully) with iron, clay, beautiful lake and nice landscape. It seems like there was a village a very long time ago, as there were no bins or forges left. I have just built my house, just a small one for now. Yesterday I managed to find some animals like bulls, a cow, spiders, wolves, bears, lava spider. What I found out about the area is that, nearby villages do not exist anylonger, though, I need to re-check it to confirm this. The village itself is, as for now, 22x21 with 3s unkeep. There is lots of space and the village has not been shaped, yet. There are no spirit guards hired, since I can defend myself against anything without any problems, however, if a new player needs a guard there is a tower nearby, or I may hire a spirit guard. The village is located at N21 (upper bay), just like on the screenshot below. If you are willing to join me, I will be glad to accept you, no matter if you are new to Wurm or you have already some experience. Everyone is welcome! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or if you would like to join the village. My nick name in game is also Ading. Cheers!
