    Wulfgar sold the account to Niru who then used it to scam people. He was awarded the account back because the money he got from Niru when selling the account was disputed and lost. Wulfgar is in no way involved in the scamming.

    Since this thread is still open, and I am still jet lagged from my journey back to redneckland, I'll toss my 2 irons into the fire. Not everything in this game should be automatic...I live on an island that will never produce a certain color of grape. Alas, I shall have to avail myself of the community for assistance. In this particular scenario I actually bought a baking slab from another player - not that I gave a wit about baking of course, but rather that at some point I would need one and my mines are almost oppressively zinc. The 10i I spent was well worth it? Maybe? Not sure since there is no part of my game that actually requires me to bake anything. There should be some effort in a game such as this perhaps. Otherwise we lose the thing that actually makes us what we are. I'll give you a free stone and pestle or whatever you need, but if I do I think you are missing out on something that makes this community special. (Please note that this is an opinion of a player only, who started this crazy journey almost ten years ago, and in no way represents the official position of Wurm Online or OneTwoFree er Code Club AB.     Dusks return - Araninke Hi Everyone! Another week down and we're already in February, time is going far too fast, but there's work to be done. Here's what we've been up to! Alchemists Cupboard Ever get sick of storing small amounts of dyes and liquids? Well the Alchemists Cupboard will be right up your alley! The design will be with a focus on storing small amounts of non food liquids with greatly reduced decay, saving you a wax sealing kit or ten! The Alchemists cupboard is awaiting a new model, so stay tuned to see it! Recipe sharing Initially the temporary restriction on sharing recipes was until the system came to WU, giving us a reasonable time frame to allow those who wish to explore the system the opportunity to do so. As 1.3 for WU has been delayed over the past few months, we've decided to remove the restriction now, effective immediately. What we would like is that recipes are shared on the forums with the use of the spoiler tag, and I'd advise that you keep it 1 recipe per spoiler, meaning those who wish to learn one meal don't get the rest ruined. Upcoming updates Two suggestions made recently (one being quite a long term one) are going to soon find their way in the game! Rift Loot and participation At the end of a Rift, if you have more than 60 participation (phenomenal), the lump you receive will be less random ql and weight, and more dependent on your participation score (with a slight amount of random on top of it). Also at the end of a rift, if you have more than 60 points, you'll get an amount of rift resources scaling to your participation points (up to a max of 20 at a participation score of 360). Each of these items will be random between the three rift materials, and the ql will scale based on participation too. Higher participation generally will mean more rift material bits at a higher ql (though there is a slight random added to the final ql of each bit). In line with this, we'll also be tweaking the participation gained from Light of Fo, with a maximum of 15 participation, based on how many players it heals. Blessed Lamps A long standing request is for a way for off deed lamps to autolight. While the suggestion usually considers courier or light token, we've decided to go with bless, as this is available to all priests. Lamps on a paved tille and bless will auto light and not use fuel. This means that highways and off deed areas can remain lit at nights, and provide a much improved experience when travelling. There's some ideas for tunnels, but nothing is set in stone yet, we'll continue to discuss the possibilities and will provide info when it comes. We of course spend a lot of time discussing suggestions, and many of them are good ideas, and would mesh well with the game. The reality of the situation is however many suggestions are incredibly expansive, or require significant investment of dev time, or simply aren't a priority or the focus of the dev team at the moment. We appreciate all time taken to suggest things, and look forward to not aonly seeing more suggestions and discussions, but also to seeing them come into the game! More animations! Saroman has been hard at work with new fighting animations being added, designed to give more visual feedback over what's occurring, the new animations include: Kick Dodge Parry with shield Parry with weapon Shield bash Focus And some more to come. Hopefully this improves how combat feels a bit and creates a bit more immersive action when fighting! Community Content This weeks community content is a little late, but I'd like to recognise Zakerak for his ship impalong, which finished up this week. For the past few months Zakerak has been hard at work imping ships of wurmians who drop by, he's serviced dozens of ships, if not more, and I think that acts like this are awesome, and really show what this community is about, so thank you zakerak!     Many moons ago in a forgotten wurm land mine lamps were perma lit deed or not, when it was changed it was never suggested that it was a problem only that it was 'unintended' If there was in fact no issue other than intentions then there should be no issue just reversing that change, i mean, does anyoneone really care that all mines would be lit indiscriminately? I sure wouldnt especially since caves were made pitch black after that...

    Not really, no. The only way to really get new players/new villagers to stay in the game is to take care of them, which you can't do properly unless you give them some basic rights within your village so that they can actually do stuff and not just walk around like prisoners. You can't teach someone how to play the game unless you give them access to things they'll need, and it won't be much fun for them either if they can't touch anything in the safezone where they are supposedly "home" - But as soon as you open up the deed to someone new you are also exposing yourself. People who intend to misbehave often pose as new players or "old players trying to get back in the game" in order to snake their way into a village, and they often have knowledge about some abusable feature that hasn't become publicly known yet. This means that no matter how little or much access you give them on your deed they most likely have a plan on how to give themselves access to things they aren't supposed to reach. Some thefts are impulsive because they realized they were given access to a room that contained valuables and they got caught up in an adrenaline rush, but many are planned out in advance with a plan on how to gain access to the valuables. Back when forum moderators misinterpreted the policy on "naming and shaming" and removed threads like these as soon as they popped up one group of thieves managed to abuse various game mechanics to steal from maybe 10 villages (probably more) because warnings weren't put up. Even if the thieves have already ditched their accounts and started new ones before these threads have gone live with the information it still teaches people to be on their toes and to not trust the permissions to save them from everything, because there's always a way around those. Plus: If you see a thread pop up that concerns account thefts because a player had shared his pass or chosen a bad one etc it makes others re-think their own security and might make them upgrade it before anything happens to them - Which is the goal of the shaming system.

    You all have good points here, and I have nothing to go off of than the vague wording in the wiki. When I have time I will attempt to run some experiments training up and equipping my local tower guards to see if the 'eternal life' theory is true or if they are truly fresh mobs every time they respawn.

    yeah we need to remove the last sentence - the ad part - i don't know how didn't I realize that way sooner but don't you like the color? I think it was a very successful mix! I was actually considering small signs because they are less obtrusive -- but my fc is not over 100...just yet and the reason for having a sign anyway is that we need to consider who is using starter deed mailboxes - mostly beginners, that - even if they would examine the mailbox and see some technical stuff that wouldn't understand it anyway (heck, I don't even understand what it does from the examine message). Basically, the work we are doing would become unnoticed due to mailboxes not appearing any different without the sign. And our names are there because...well consider that our little reward for doing this, having something written long after this thread is gone, archived or deleted Plus with more people seeing it, hopefully it sparks a greater sense of community projects in wurm - cause you can put the names of the people that built or did something for the community there. That is my hope at least...

    Update Feb 5 There is now a news action when right clicking body this contains the basic server rules server news and will contain future server patch notes. Right clicking coins now allows you to purchase items with said coin this will be updated so check other coins besides the ones listed periodically to see if anything is added.

    All boats on Freedom have a minimal passenger bonus, but instead the boats were recently changed to go faster at higher QL. Knarrs still have a drawback- it's the slowest ship (in a gale) bigger than a sailboat. Corbitas are faster, Cogs and Caravels are way faster. But every single one of them is useless in PvP. I think the majority of people use knars because it's a smaller model. Not as bulky to navigate or park, and it's the jack of all trades for hauling by sea.

    I applaud your optimism! In certain respects the Wurm Developers seem to be a stubborn lot and will not make changes that do not impose any devastating effects. Sure, it would be better if such a common and useful object were created from something of compatible (common) material but for whatever unknown reason a material was chosen completely opposite of the application. Now since players can obtain this hard to find regionally ore (vein) from other players if they are not one of the more fortunate ones who have it in their own local, this slight impediment is considered of no significance. Therefore no change of material will be forthcoming, as evidenced by a number of other convoluted methods and materials required to create other useful objects or substances (concrete) that in turn reduce their usefulness due to excessive measures required or the lack of materials within ones own local areas. Hope springs eternal they say but here you will first have to find the source, even if you can't make the application to do so. =Ayes=

    How about just throwing out the current ###### show entirely. Decouple religion from kingdoms, remove template kingdoms. Refund a few times the value of each template into the freedom economy. Cause a frenzy, give players another opportunity to piss and moan about not getting their cut, and on the other side you have entirely destructible kingdoms. No lopsided half-hearted asymmetric gameplay bs. Add selectable kingdom wide buffs that require some kind of minor maintenance if you want. You would think over 10 years of feedback and experience would have some really solid collaboration between the players and the devs.

    Enough said. My objection has NOTHING to do with the availability of Marble, or the availability of a mail box, or other Players willing to help out those in need. Read the above line again please. My objection ISN'T about the community. My objection is about the design decision of the Devs in the overall scheme of Wurm. Bread should be one of the easiest foods to make in this game and it in fact does not require farming, grains can be foraged as they were centuries ago in real life and up until now could be baked into bread. Marble may or may not be available easily but a new Player should not imo be required to hunt Marble down or ask for help in kchat or purchase a marble shard just to bake bread. Baking stones should be available to make for not only Marble but also clay and/or rock shards. (Grind Stones are made from Rock Shards... why not Baking Stones?) Let the easier and low skill recipes be made with the clay/rock shard variety, require the marble one for higher skilled recipes. This can be added later in a future update and I look forward to it. Enough said from me on this.

    i wouldn't say bread is fundamental in wurm. It's in fact one of the hardest meals to make at low skill. you need to farm cereals (rake - blacksmithing & farming) which need a scythe(Weapon Smithing skill) to harvest . You then need a grindstone (stone cutting skill) to turn them into flour (milling skill). Once that's done, you need both the baking skill and an oven (masonry) to create and cook them. That means a lot of skills for a new player, the marble baking plate is just using a rare(ish) material with a skill already used, but the most important part is that without any decent skills in all of the previously mentionned ones, your bread will sucks and not feed you at all.

    First, the cooking addition has probably been one of the best additions to the game since bridges or multistory. Second, it sounds like you're upset because of the fact that marble is hard for you to obtain, not because of the "realism" guise that you're trying to use (which is a moot point anyway, we're playing a game with magic and dragons... this isn't real life.). Lastly, marble isn't rare or expensive. I've got 50+ veins of it under my deed. Feel free to stop by my deed on Xanadu and take some away for free.

    Really don't see the controversy. Even Rolf said there is no shame and blame rule and that it is upto the Individual to protect their name and reputation, not the GM's and certainly not the Staff. If Joeblow stole some of my stuff and I had no recourse I'd make Dam sure he didn't steal from my neighbors or anyone else. So what exactly is the controversy? That staff feels they need to protect someones reputation even after it's been stated that is not their job?

    Update Issued at 2016-12-25 @ 14:14 GMT (UTC) (December 25th, 2016) Merry Christmas to everyone! In this update we have started to incorporate the terrain details from Rolf's flat map dump. All the islands in the 4 corners of the map have been done as well as Maple Island and Black Dog Island. In order to maintain the accuracy of the current terrain features, we have decided not to outline them with a dark border. Also, we have chosen to show the sanding that is present along some of the main roads. For the most part we have kept the original map colours, with the exception of the peat where we have opted for the darker brown that is in the map dump, and we have changed the tundra colour which you will see in future updates. Mountains and cliffs are shaded in grays the same as the flat map dump. As always, we have removed disbanded deeds and added those submitted to the Albia Roads Map of Indy forum. Wurm is waiting....     It is finished. Valley Road Bridge. L18 west of Botany Bay on the road that connects Grapeland and Valley Keep with Botany Bay. This is a good reason to build a portcullis at each end of a bridge which I am now doing. First there was a spider, then a brown bear and now a hell hound. The first two were not so bad since they would stand on the tile and remain plainly visible. The hell hound hides in the doorway to the left and cannot be seen until you get within one tile when it POPS out and attacks ambush style. You cannot lead make them follow you off the bridge. They stay at that same spot until killed. You could tame them I suppose.
