    As the cooking system has been out for a little while now, and there's quite a lot of new mechanisms and stuff, there have been a lot of questions on how things work specifically. I have continued to update and fix the cooking document (see http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/148898-cooking-system-documentation/ ) as features are tweaked, or errors show up, but if you have any questions regarding cooking that aren't covered there, please ask them here, and I'll do my best to answer them. I won't give out specific recipes, and there's obviously stuff I can't talk about, but I may be able to give hints. This isn't the place for suggestions or requests, so please try to keep this on-topic. I'll keep this thread open for a reasonable time, and I'll keep checking back while it's open. Information here may also get incorporated back into the main cooking document if appropriate.

    I dropped a log on a tile and it almost landed on the border in line. I thought it would look pretty cool if I can put logs along the border to make a path or even a garden parameter. So my suggested put be to be able to place any log type along the border similar to a curb.

    Unfortunately those aren't current prices. I'd say your offers are going to be int he 200-250 range in today's market for priests. Two years ago, you could have landed 350 pretty quick.

    Aloha all I have been trying to unlock the 'Imu Pig' recipe, so i then can unlock the 'Bramson's Kailua Pig and Cabbage' recipe, but I seem to have hit a dead end.... I prepared it exactly how should but it no work. I dug my hole... I then killed my pig... I added stone to my Imu... I added Hot Charcoal to my Stones, get em all Hot and what not... I added fresh grass to cover the rock and charcoal... I got stones... hot charcoal... and grass covering the stone and charcoal... one pig on top... I still no unlock the Imu Pig Recipe? What am I doing wrong? I already chopped the cabbage and invite da bruddah's over for some fresh kailua pig... if I don't get the Imu Pig recipe unlock I no can use my fork to shred my pork and unlock kailua pig recipe with chopped cabbage... Please help!?! Thank you Bram

    Pottery skill gain doesn't seem that different then say blacksmithing or masonry. It's much faster then say shipbuilding, fine carpentry, or weapons smithing. imo, this is fine. Now that rarity is here I dislike that pottery items can't be repaired. It would make me cry if I got a fantastic pie dish. I like pies and could use that but I'd feel distressed every time because of no repair feature. That doesn't seem right to me. My fix would be letting fired pottery items be improved but it would be considerably harder. (and no stupid runes or junk from rifts. just simple clay dug from clay tiles, toon potter skill and normal pottery imping tools).

    Personally Private Buyout prices (Still keeping the person who offered it anonymous) should still be posted before you confirm the sale as other people may offer more than what they did, not the best way to do an auction in my opinion especially as it happened only a couple hours before the end.

    I think that all who drinks coffee are like me disappointed on the cooking update! ANyway atleast i wants coffee in the game, would be nice! Could inplant coffeebean or make acorn for coffee too! Water + Coffeebeans/acorns in cualdron. What do you think!?

    Instead of the long requested hunting server suggested by Xallo iirc with lots of player support behind it we got Rifts, that to some extent satisfies the craving the hunting server aimed to do... Except they don't even make sense with the overall feel of the game and they cause a terrible mess in every area where they're spawned. Players still have to travel to get to a rift (except when they end up in your backyard), so why not just give us the hunting server?

    Being a new player myself (Arakiel insists I am new even after a month) I find this ridiculous. I have received incredible help and an amazing reception by the people of Wurm. Seeing stories like these kinda make me wonder why. There is nothing quite like getting your ass handed to you by a wolf and having to run crying like a p...y to the nearest guard tower, then licking the red off your healthbar for the next few hours. Day before yesterday I saw my first shark. Wondering if I could take it out, I sailed towards it and whacked it over the head. Being the newbie I am, I did not notice I was at the border of the map, and either that shark or the game mechanics kicked me off the boat. The shark beat me around like a redheaded stepchild as I tried to board my ship to sail away but kept getting knocked off. I managed to board the ship and set course to some random island and immediately zoned, ending up with 3% health. Thankfully Vernex was nearby. Within a minute I was back on the Celebration server and sailing back. He intercepted me and used cotton to bind my wounds. Why do I tell this story, you ask? Because if I had been a thief, a brute, or a Shitler I would had died cold and alone from bleeding wounds. No free 100ql enchanted sword is worth loosing that. Experiences are the reason we play the game. Never sacrifice community for a few silver. Unlike silver, you can't get community back.

    Settling the Dust of 2016 Greetings and Happy Festivations! This last year has been a long and dusty road, but we have made it through and are preparing to tackle a new one. At this time we start beating out all that dust we have picked up on the trail over the last year and need to close out some of the rockier parts of the old year. I refer directly to the Niru incident. Officially, we are done with this individual and all of the accounts and items that were associated with the individual are and always have been the property of Code Club AB and may be used, dispensed, or removed at Code Club AB's discretion as defined in the EULA that everyone agrees to upon playing Wurm Online. After a long period of open claims being taken in by forum thread and forum pm has finally passed I have decided to finally begin closing this chapter. First, a handful of claimants who lost items and properly noted their losses to us when asked will receive items that we were able to seize in Niru's possession. You will not receive all of your item losses, only those we were able to successfully show were yours. Second, we will be conducting an auction on all of the items that were seized with no proper claim received for. This will start with a listing of items for overview, and then after a week, an auction/s will commence. Third, all of those who lost silvers in transaction with Niru and properly posted a claim in the forum thread or forum pm will receive a percentage of their losses back. The proceeds from the auction will be returned in percentage to those with silver related losses. I cannot stress enough not to get hopeful and expect a full recompense. This is not a reimbursement and I am not setting any new precedent as this is normal procedure for us to attempt to return losses seized in regards to scams. I will not entertain any attempts to apply this situation to other cases in an attempt to retrieve long lost items or accounts. This was a special case of scamming and is in no way similar to other cases such as bans due to rule violations. Thank You, Wurm Online Team

    I think it's about time the devs consider (if they haven't already) a re-working of the mail system. So before we begin, let me don my asbestos armor, because I think it's gonna get hot in here soon. The mail system, now especially after the cooking update is now, Out of whack. 1 sealed barrel of milk, 47 kilos now ships for 2 copper. <---47 kilos is heavier than a full set of armor, weapons and some other stuff. ....but if you try to send 47 kilos of stuff in any other combo it's gonna be 47 copper easily. Now I could list off a number of other examples, but this is just to highlight the issue. I would like to suggest a system that allows people to ship by weight, not by number. So that the total weight of the shipping object/container is taken into account. Example: 1 kilo = 1c <---- this is a total suggestion, this rate could easily be changed to something higher or lower. 1 barrel of milk, 47 kilos = 47c 1 corn, 0.1 kilos = 10i 1 rock shards, 20 kilos = 20c 1 long sword, 3 kilos = 3c 1 leather jacket, 0.6 kilos = 60i 1 black belted vest, 0.3 kilos = 30i Now this is just an example of a new system that would take into account actual weight. I can hear people already complaining about how "terrible" this is, kill the economy, and other such stuff. So as a balancing I propose the following. Remove all number of times mail limits. (apparently it's been removed) Also, I understand there is a rune that can "reset" the number of mailings. This would be easy to rectify under the system, by changing it to 10% less postage rune. Thus it would become highly valuable by traders to place on shipping containers to lower postage costs.

    What bothers me more than cost is mailing size limits. I'd like to see a new additional type of mailbox for large and bulk items, basically some kind of pony express version. It would be kinda like a market stall in that it takes up a whole tile and would require more mats/enchants to create than a mailbox (maybe even a horse), but would permit sending of those large items like long bows, or bulk items like crates or barrels. Items would need to be picked up from another pony express station, just as with mailboxes now. Cost to make and send to be determined by devs as deemed appropriate and proportional. some may argue it would kill delivery services or even further reduce social trade interactions, but provided the limitations and costs are appropriate it could still make sending a knarr load of stuff impractical/expensive, but would really help small level bulk trades or bowyers etc. just an idea.

    Sorry about the delay, Christmas and new years tends to fragment things. Ultimately, there are obvious and valid arguments for both sides and it does somewhat confuse upgrading a cooker but also many have put in a lot of work. We've decided to go with the majority in the poll and allow it to continue as is, rarity of cooker will change the affinity. As for using the ingame poll, for this it was decided against as it is often skewed by players with multiple alts, and a message upon logging in becomes kind of spammy, there was a lot of discussion about it both ingame and on the forums, and it has been raised in many area, the result is a pretty clear majority.

    A fairly simple solution would be to "copypaste" forges, ovens, and fireplaces to create 2 new items for each: Forge II: Same thing, but chimney graphic is 2 stories tall now Forge III: You guessed it, another story taller.

    Adamantine takes a 60% reduction in damage naturally, rune makes it 70%. I think it's possible people don't appreciate how much less often you need to reimp these items (i use addy for all my training weapons)

    One feels that you're being a little inconsistent: (:P) But in all seriousness: Attempting to lock it in certain positions just means you'll end up with those areas becoming major deed hotspots (and horrible eyesores as those deeds decay). It also shafts anyone who lives far away REALLY hard. Shifting them over to a hunting server would be great for folks who live on the coast, not so great for everyone else. A far simpler solution would be thus: When a rift area is chosen it is already terraforming locked so simply take a "copy" of that terrain (all you are doing is storing a height map for a pretty small section of the map), when the rift closes use this "copy" to it restores that terrain steadily over the period of an hour (terraforming remaining forbidden until this time has passed, the timespan is to prevent any undue lag being caused). There is still the matter of the mass plantlife slaughter, but then again players do FAR worse over the course of a few hours than any rift ever does on that score. A bit of magic for priests to spread a little nature might go a long way

    If I was boss... Rifts would spawn at a single designated public spot for each server and any player, for a given server, could use a portal on said player's deed to instantly travel to the battle grounds.

    Although I have never attended one of these, I fully understand the enjoyment the hunter types get. Thus as a non attendee, I was not aware of the massive damage they do, terraforming the landscape in a destructive manner when it opens. So I have to agree, the wanton damage to the ground is perhaps something that needs to be removed as a feature of the Rifts. To many folks, who have put in long hours to try an make this sand box more enjoyable for all, I can see it would cause a lot of pain and heart ache to see their good works, undone randomly.     +1 Yes, of course there are obvious ways to jury rig a solution that everyone has thought of. Doesn't change the fact that more versatile solutions would be appreciated.

    First and second rift on Indy spawned not far behind my deed, so that area was damaged twice. Me with friends repaired worst spikes and holes and area healed itself more or less with time. Grass and trees are back, but terrain there is still corrupted. It is harder to hunt there, as you can easily stuck here and there. I can't understand, why rift need to corrupt area around its spawn. Players can easily do some clearcut around, if they want better visibility. But event itself should do none damage. While I think, rifts are rather good events, their destructive nature makes them evil.

    It was fantastic, and the skillgains and camaraderie made it hard to leave. Shrimpiie, if you're serious about hosting it again next year, I'm definitely in! Maybe between then and now I'll be able to bring some resources besides lead.

    This years Christmas imp-a-long was awesome. Pandylynn and I meet a lot of new people and had a lot of fun there. Thank you to Shrimpiie for setting it up and hosting it. As a staffer and runner I had a blast both helping and being rotten to the rest of the staff. hopefully we can all get together again and have some more fun. Thanks again everyone for your hard work and help making the imp-a-long happen your awesome.

    The thing about fences is they sort of shout "keep out" and are saying "We are concerned about your safety" Not the vibe I'd be looking for, I did say this was an artistic endeavour. On that score, bridges are very nice in a Venice sort of way but I'd give sooooooo much for a working drawbridge.

    Highly recommended! I had a few maps of my mines made because I get lost very easily. They were done very quickly, and now I never have to worry about getting lost again (well, almost never... ). Great service!
