As the cooking system has been out for a little while now, and there's quite a lot of new mechanisms and stuff, there have been a lot of questions on how things work specifically. I have continued to update and fix the cooking document (see http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/148898-cooking-system-documentation/ ) as features are tweaked, or errors show up, but if you have any questions regarding cooking that aren't covered there, please ask them here, and I'll do my best to answer them. I won't give out specific recipes, and there's obviously stuff I can't talk about, but I may be able to give hints. This isn't the place for suggestions or requests, so please try to keep this on-topic. I'll keep this thread open for a reasonable time, and I'll keep checking back while it's open. Information here may also get incorporated back into the main cooking document if appropriate.

I dropped a log on a tile and it almost landed on the border in line. I thought it would look pretty cool if I can put logs along the border to make a path or even a garden parameter. So my suggested put be to be able to place any log type along the border similar to a curb.

Unfortunately those aren't current prices. I'd say your offers are going to be int he 200-250 range in today's market for priests. Two years ago, you could have landed 350 pretty quick.

Pottery skill gain doesn't seem that different then say blacksmithing or masonry. It's much faster then say shipbuilding, fine carpentry, or weapons smithing. imo, this is fine. Now that rarity is here I dislike that pottery items can't be repaired. It would make me cry if I got a fantastic pie dish. I like pies and could use that but I'd feel distressed every time because of no repair feature. That doesn't seem right to me. My fix would be letting fired pottery items be improved but it would be considerably harder. (and no stupid runes or junk from rifts. just simple clay dug from clay tiles, toon potter skill and normal pottery imping tools).

Personally Private Buyout prices (Still keeping the person who offered it anonymous) should still be posted before you confirm the sale as other people may offer more than what they did, not the best way to do an auction in my opinion especially as it happened only a couple hours before the end.

Instead of the long requested hunting server suggested by Xallo iirc with lots of player support behind it we got Rifts, that to some extent satisfies the craving the hunting server aimed to do... Except they don't even make sense with the overall feel of the game and they cause a terrible mess in every area where they're spawned. Players still have to travel to get to a rift (except when they end up in your backyard), so why not just give us the hunting server?

Being a new player myself (Arakiel insists I am new even after a month) I find this ridiculous. I have received incredible help and an amazing reception by the people of Wurm. Seeing stories like these kinda make me wonder why. There is nothing quite like getting your ass handed to you by a wolf and having to run crying like a p...y to the nearest guard tower, then licking the red off your healthbar for the next few hours. Day before yesterday I saw my first shark. Wondering if I could take it out, I sailed towards it and whacked it over the head. Being the newbie I am, I did not notice I was at the border of the map, and either that shark or the game mechanics kicked me off the boat. The shark beat me around like a redheaded stepchild as I tried to board my ship to sail away but kept getting knocked off. I managed to board the ship and set course to some random island and immediately zoned, ending up with 3% health. Thankfully Vernex was nearby. Within a minute I was back on the Celebration server and sailing back. He intercepted me and used cotton to bind my wounds. Why do I tell this story, you ask? Because if I had been a thief, a brute, or a Shitler I would had died cold and alone from bleeding wounds. No free 100ql enchanted sword is worth loosing that. Experiences are the reason we play the game. Never sacrifice community for a few silver. Unlike silver, you can't get community back.

Settling the Dust of 2016 Greetings and Happy Festivations! This last year has been a long and dusty road, but we have made it through and are preparing to tackle a new one. At this time we start beating out all that dust we have picked up on the trail over the last year and need to close out some of the rockier parts of the old year. I refer directly to the Niru incident. Officially, we are done with this individual and all of the accounts and items that were associated with the individual are and always have been the property of Code Club AB and may be used, dispensed, or removed at Code Club AB's discretion as defined in the EULA that everyone agrees to upon playing Wurm Online. After a long period of open claims being taken in by forum thread and forum pm has finally passed I have decided to finally begin closing this chapter. First, a handful of claimants who lost items and properly noted their losses to us when asked will receive items that we were able to seize in Niru's possession. You will not receive all of your item losses, only those we were able to successfully show were yours. Second, we will be conducting an auction on all of the items that were seized with no proper claim received for. This will start with a listing of items for overview, and then after a week, an auction/s will commence. Third, all of those who lost silvers in transaction with Niru and properly posted a claim in the forum thread or forum pm will receive a percentage of their losses back. The proceeds from the auction will be returned in percentage to those with silver related losses. I cannot stress enough not to get hopeful and expect a full recompense. This is not a reimbursement and I am not setting any new precedent as this is normal procedure for us to attempt to return losses seized in regards to scams. I will not entertain any attempts to apply this situation to other cases in an attempt to retrieve long lost items or accounts. This was a special case of scamming and is in no way similar to other cases such as bans due to rule violations. Thank You, Wurm Online Team

Today I bring you this hand crafted set of top flight ninja armor! A combination of Seryll Plate, chain and Drake. this set offers you a unique style, and very good protection, I use this same setup as a SoTG PvPer, and I love it. Would be even better for champions! Or just that flamboyant freedomer Each piece is enchanted with AoSP 70 to 99 power Each piece of seryll has a 10% Damage reduction rune applied to prevent damage taken to the gear. Throwing in a Ruby Staff and a pair of Boar Shoulder pads to complete the look! Drake chest piece and seryl Helm alone bring a value of around 30s, so I feel my asking price is pretty fair! 60s obo(Will consider trades)

Sorry, you're quite right - container rarity doesn't change the affinity. Underground and structure bonuses should stack. The max amount of honey you can fit in a hive (assuming nothing else is in there) is 2160kg; sugar or wax (can have up to 20 wax) will reduce that. Both - crop tiles (at the right ages, in the right seasons) will give some nectar (honey / wax) yield, and when bees generate product from a farm tile, the crop yield for that tile is slightly increased. QL of cooking container will affect QL of food items made in it. Higher QL food (and rare food) gives longer temporary affinities. Opulence does not affect affinity timer.

In my recent test, container (ie. frying pan) rarity does NOT change the affinities. Cooker rarity does though.

Some information below. Some questions require a bit more digging than others, so bear with me... The affinity depends in part from the IDs of the components - this means that (for example) passata should always be passata, no matter which herb you used. However, where ingredients have real templates (e.g. meat types), this will also be added. If any ingredient, cooker, tool or container involved in the recipe is rare, that also changes the affinity, as does the state of any ingredients (e.g. chopped, etc). The bonus affinity is then modified using the ID of the player consuming the food, which is how the same thing gives different affinities for different players. Where an item has a (inherited) real template, this is usually indicated in the name (e.g. 'bear korma'). So, the short answer is that if the names of things are different, that's a good indication that using them as ingredients in another recipe will probably give different affinities. If you want to be absolutely sure to get the same affinity, keep everything as similar as possible. It's important to note that alcohols need to be in small wine barrels to improve QL. Barrels need to be sealed, so you can either unseal and reseal the barrel, or leave it sealed at the end of fermentation - either works, the check just cares about whether the barrel is still sealed. Oak barrels give a small bonus, as do being underground, being in structures, and being on deed (the underground bonus is the highest one). As far as I can tell, the papyrus sheet will remain rare, it just gets the recipe inscribed on it. The recipe itself will remain standard, and if added to a cookbook, it'll show as non-rare. You do this by opening the larder and right-clicking on the shelf. However, like BSBs etc, you need to be the owner of the larder - try picking it up and dropping it (or plantng it) first. This has changed a few times, so that section likely needs looking at again, which I will do. Thanks! Hive rarity doesn't seem to have any effect at this stage, but that will likely change. Larders are the same. There are plans for more recipes, possibly including more lootable ones, but I don't have timescales or firm details - that's more of a Retro question. There is also scope to expand the range of crop and fruit types, but I'm not aware of any plans for that at this stage - I wouldn't be surprised if there are more somewhere down the line, though. Without going into the excrutiating detail of the skill gain system, at that level, you should get the most gain from high-difficulty meals. For cooked meals, difficulty generally maxes out at 80 (without added optional ingredients), and the meals with built-in names (e.g. Budda's terrible pasta dish, Pandalet's one true pizza) are generally all high difficulty (70-80 range). Haggis with whiskey sauce and xmas cake are also good candidates, since they're high intrinsic difficulty with a few optionals that will increase the difficulty.

What effects do rare/supreme/fanatstic beehives have? (Faster honey production? Queens more chance to survive winter? More beewax? Produce higher ql then beehive ql? Bees not stinging you when you dont use smoker? Bigger radius?) Same question for rare/sup/fan larders and lunchboxes (even less decay on content?). More of a question towards the future and longevity of the cooking update, but are there solid plans to keep adding recipes on a regular basis? (including more different rare/sup/fan recipes to be found on trolls/goblins). And/or to expand extra herbs/fruits/veggies? Or is Wurm-code limited in some way in terms of how many different trees/bushes to harvest you can add (like the horse models?).

This is one of those things that could use a bit more explanation. If using flowers is not working, why isn't it? If trees would be better, why not just say it? Saying well production varies with season only leaves me asking more questions. Can we get more than one sentence explaining this and telling us a bit more?

Pump the brake on that " No noobs on my lawn.". I just finished the tutorial last night, and went through the Portal to Xanadu and logged out, to have a clear mind for what comes next. The decision to stick with this game will be made in the next few days. I would think you would like some influx. Have played a little Runescape, alot of LOTRO, alot of SHK, ###### tons of Minecraft and Oblivion, some GQ1,a little EQ. The text focus here does not bother me, I might even like it. I have read a little about WO. I do not mind some grinding, I will have to see whether it is pleasant and necessary here or mind drilling boring, which is what I thought of the grind at Runescape no matter how many times I tried to like it. I certainly am looking for interaction with other people, am willing to be active, but am not seeking onerous responsibilities that mandate AM and PM log ons.

handy to scatter bunched animals so they won't get diseased especially ones like deer that you cannot otherwise move without taming one by one and leading Area of Effect with "Shoo!" emote -- doesn't hurt them just makes them flee about 5-10 tiles can work similar to a Taunt for wild aggressive animals as they are might return and attack .. or they might keep going you can also *thunk* other players but it won;t have any effect beyond the harmless "slap with a trout" type effect Oh yeah maybe can also use it in cooking to crush nuts or make tortillas

The only way they would be able to add this is if they included a web server along with the WU server because as of right now WUA needs to communicate with the SQL files directly. I haven't taken a look at what they offer with the WU server but CS and I talked briefly and I believe they're looking for a tool that does everything over RMI instead of relying on SQL files.

Enough bugs with bridges as they are, I would think adding in a diagonal option would compound the problems. I would rather see bridges in mines made possible before diagonal's, which I would hope would also bring in a feature to see tile slopes in mines.

First of all, @Corsan, you literally have zero clue about rifts do you? The only point that is even remotely valid in your post is the distance you have to travel on Xanadu. And even that is not a real big issue unless you live in the centre of Xan, if you live at the ouside of Xan, you can hop to any (smaller) server you want to go do a rift there. Distances on deli/exo/release/pristine/cele are hardly a problem, only thing when you go on another server is that you have to find a horse somewhere. I've been to the last one on inde this week, after not going for many months. (I did the very first 4 rifts on inde that appeared when rifts got live, then went on a rift-break, materials werent even introduced when I did those 4 first rifts, and only got 1 shoulderpad out of them). And its hardly an elitist gathering at all, we all took down the waves of agros that spawned, and at the last wave the hearts got sacced to close it so we could start mining resources. The closure of the last wave is a bit weird like @Faty said, if I hadnt burned that last heart, people would probably still be waiting next to their crystal/wood/stone-nodes. I was curious I must say, because it was the first rift I did where I could gather resources, so I was prepared to rush like crazy, but it turned out I didnt need to. I went around slowly (even wasted 30sec on a crystalnode, because I selected "bash" instead of "prospect", I didnt know you had to "prospect" to get crystals of it) and ended up with 10 stone, 5 crystals and 3 wood. There wasnt a single bit of cursing in local, everybody just went around the rift area wacking at the nodes. And about the "destruction" of the rift area, I admit, the very first rifts I went to, really messed up the terrain with spikes, but that got tweaked along the way together with loot distribution and what not. The rift this week on Inde hardly did any damage at all, a few bumps of 20ish slopes and that was it. Almost all trees were cleared offcourse, but those grow back anyways (there is even some tundra created by all the freezing spells rift agros throw around). Usually only stuff around is allot of logs (because people sometimes clear out the area a bit to pack the perimeter of the rift thats about to spawn) and maybe a few altars closeby (where healers could sac). Even the corpses get cleared to by the players, allot of meat to be gained from butchering and even rare coins from burying them (I got a few last rift from burying, so its worth it to grab your shovel). So yeah, rifts do virtualy no damage anymore (on inde, havent been to other servers, but the "rift-terraform-code probably is the same for all servers). They even make those abandoned terraformed areas a bit more natural again by adding a bit of 10-20 slopes. And yeah, if you visit directly after a rift, it looks not as pretty because you have dirt, tree stumps and piles of logs everywhere, but nothing a week or 2 irl can solve naturally.

Hello, today I had a pretty unhappy accident, I charmed my hell horse with a charm rune, to be able to 'care for' it, and then I un-tamed it. I made sure that it is untamed by examining it and hovering over it a few times, also I had to get into the 'animals' tab under the Body menu, and this tab also said it is untamed. Another thing was that I got a confirmation on the event window saying: [20:32:06] You no longer have this animal tamed! So I left my other hell horses with it as I usually do in my pen, and went afk for a while. But when I got back, the horse was dead. It got into a fight with another hell horse and died in it. Here are the logs: Event log: Combat log: Here's where it all happened, I was standing right there where I am on the screen so I was able to get the AOE damage done to me. The horses were in that pen

Well, two reasons: I met someone from Celebration early in my Wurming days who I became friends with. He set me up with a place and I liked the quick water access. We found an old abandoned deed area who was leveled out with an almost finished dock. So I brought a friend from out of game and together we settled down there. I quickly noticed that having easy access to sea in a small server changed things. I can get literally anywhere from Celebration easily, and it's a drop of the bucket from Glasshollow so I feel it's a perfect spot. My old deed was in a lake inland which makes it rather difficult to run a ship making business out of. To be honest I don't expect much in the way of sales. Boats last a long time (forever, really) and very few people really need a boat. My concept is more of a community service where I deliver you a boat I make so you can move around. My passion is the actual building of the boat, but what am I going to do wish so many boats sitting on my deed? If people were wondering, I had no issues with anyone. The guys on NEXA were amazing and always helped me out, and I have nothing bad to say about Aniceset's group. This was more of a decision to move closer to my friends, while at the same time being more accessible. I have yet to meet anyone in Wurm that gives me any grief. I am loving it here. You guys have a very beautiful community. Hope that never changes!
