In the year of our lords and dark demoness' 1062 the peoples of the Wurm realms have been subjected to a vile plague that threatens our populations. Our top priests have identified the source of this scourge and have given it a name. Toxic Player Syndrome. They also recommended ostracizing the infected vermin from our sewers. Toxic Player Syndrome is a social plague spread through contact with contaminated ink used primarily when inscribing documents in far away lands. We do not support the use of documents outside our realm, or far away lands for that matter. Still, this plague washed up on our shores and threatened to infect our peoples with no regard of nobility or cleanliness. Victims of the plague may exhibit symptoms such as bloodshot eyes, unusual facial hair growth, clumps of hair missing from head, loud voices in unusual octaves, and uncontrollable bouts of cursing and screaming. Our healers will do their best to reach your afflicted ones and provide treatment or carts to haul off those who have achieved a pungent stature. We have identified the culprits and are removing them and others from Wurm Online as to protect our community from these unscrupulous individuals. This violation occurred through resources not connected to Wurm Online or its services and there has been no breach of our security, but this is an attack on our active players and we will not willingly tolerate this kind of behavior. We are doing our best to help the affected individuals regain their accounts and items so that they may continue with their lives. Some feel that we should have stopped PVP in Wurm Online due to this situation that occurred against one of our pmk kingdoms. I would like to bring a touch of clarity as to why this was not done. This occurred due to a 3rd party system that we have no control or support for and was ran by players and was their sole responsibility. It would have been a horrible precedent to interfere with the proper operations of Wurm Online for such a thing. We have options that do not require us to cancel a vital component of Wurm Online on knee-jerk reactions. We have also noticed that there is also misinformation spreading among players about our actions as moderators. The facts are simple. The damage was done even before the affected could alert us. We as moderators have not been sitting idly by and letting these "cheaters" "get away with it". We searched for the lost items and as soon as we could we confiscated them.     Greetings and Happy Festivations! This last year has been a long and dusty road, but we have made it through and are preparing to tackle a new one. At this time we start beating out all that dust we have picked up on the trail over the last year and need to close out some of the rockier parts of the old year. I refer directly to the Niru incident. Officially, we are done with this individual and all of the accounts and items that were associated with the individual are and always have been the property of Code Club AB and may be used, dispensed, or removed at Code Club AB's discretion as defined in the EULA that everyone agrees to upon playing Wurm Online. After a long period of open claims being taken in by forum thread and forum pm has finally passed I have decided to finally begin closing this chapter. First, a handful of claimants who lost items and properly noted their losses to us when asked will receive items that we were able to seize in Niru's possession. You will not receive all of your item losses, only those we were able to successfully show were yours. Second, we will be conducting an auction on all of the items that were seized with no proper claim received for. This will start with a listing of items for overview, and then after a week, an auction/s will commence. Third, all of those who lost silvers in transaction with Niru and properly posted a claim in the forum thread or forum pm will receive a percentage of their losses back. The proceeds from the auction will be returned in percentage to those with silver related losses. I cannot stress enough not to get hopeful and expect a full recompense. This is not a reimbursement and I am not setting any new precedent as this is normal procedure for us to attempt to return losses seized in regards to scams. I will not entertain any attempts to apply this situation to other cases in an attempt to retrieve long lost items or accounts.     Have you ever wanted to freeze to death, or contract waterborne diseases? Now you can! Things that keep you warm: Summer, daytime, fires (fireplace/campfire/forge/etc.), being indoors, wearing warm clothing, eating hot food and drinking tea Things that make you cold: Winter, night, strong winds, rain, swimming, high altitudes and standing on snow tiles Drinking sea water or lake water may give you disease status. This can be avoided by boiling the water. Water from wells and fountains is safe and does not require boiling. Other safe options are wine, milk, fruit juices, etc. Each crop has a growing season. These seasons are longer closer to sea level, and if you have north/south mode enabled, then growing seasons are much longer in the south. There are several configurable options, including being able to enable/disable the temperature, drinking water & crop growth features independently.     Going as far as infecting personal computers with RATs (Remote Administration Tools, that's to say, viruses) over a damned game is just so far beyond acceptable that I sincerely hope that anyone participating in this finds themselves caught by the Authorities and serve time for it. I sincerely hope your lives are ruined by the criminal act that were perpetrated, and that justice will be served. If you condone this attack with "your forum should have had better security", then I have to question your moral integrity to a severe degree! If you see an unlocked bike leaned against a wall, do you go "lol, you should have worked on your security" and take off with it? What does that make you? I'm so disgusted by this. Go to jail. Do not pass go.

    Always found it odd that blue dye is so insane to get made. red - cochinaels are easy to come by and everyone skills butchering green - just mine it, easy white - just mine it, easy black - we can harvest acorns now but....blue - You have to scramble around botanising for ages, rarely getting woad, getting lots of random other junk and the chance its good QL is reaallllly slim. Couldn't we allow Woad to be put in planters and use similar code to herbs? Edit for important information - You can no longer botanise high QL woad without the skill. It is literally capped with your skill since 1.3. If you ever want to be able to make 90QL blue dye you need to find a person with 90+ botanising. Does anyone in the whole game have that!? Feb 9th Edit - Today the devs decided that Forestry, Milking and Botanising being actually slightly reasonable to grind for the first time in 10 years needed nerfing, so now it's even harder to get woad.

    Hello Fellow Wurmians, Today i have what "i" consider sad news...lol I am sad to say that the time has come for me to leave Wurm for good i have took short breaks over the 4 years i've played but this time i have no choice but leave. The reasons are not the usual drama associated with me but simply family reasons (got a second baby on way) and also health reasons. I wont go into detail and create a big story lol, i just wanted to make a post for those friends i've met over the years who didn't see my message in game. So i've met alot of people in wurm, it's been great, some not so great ....but either way you all played a part in the fun time i had and the storyline that we all share together in this virtual world. It will be sad to leave the game behind.. I can't list all the names of people i'll miss because i will miss every wurmian in there own way. (even waaroku) I wish you all the best in life and in game. I gave all my stuff away to a lovely new player i met and i hope they progress in wurm as they seem very talented. My account will not be sold as i would rather it fade away into wurmian history with me as it's only owner. My character will be logged out on taz island in xanadu i24, where i will be a ghost haunting anyone who tries to deal with all that clay! My biggest accomplishment in wurm? : 93 digging which i was very proud off, in fact it's all i ever did really!.     Every time winter comes around in game I find myself playing far less due to eye strain and its really starting to get annoying how ignored this issue has become. I would settle for an optional setting that just cut back to the amount of snow to something like this:

    Hey guys, I just started playing Wurm today and after 4 hours of searching have found the perfect spot for my first settlement: Shadowfly Shore. I was lucky enough to find a coastal spot with a great neighbour who has already helped me out a ton! The game seems awesome, and I figured I'd just say hi to everyone. I look forward to getting to know more of you!

    In real life, ceramic items last... pretty much indefinitely. That's why archeologists name entire cultures after the kinds of pottery bits found in dig sites. In Wurm, however, pottery is one of the least manageable things in terms of decay: It decays like other items, but can't be repaired, and Mend doesn't even work on it. This is especially frustrating now that we have QL-relevant items in greater use, like pottery cooking containers. I suggest: Significantly less decay on all pottery items. Let Mend work on pottery items.

    Like I say in the video. Our forums have fairly indepth security which we make sure to always work on after each attempted attack. However this direct attack against me and using my admin account to hack the forums and the virus which was deliberately used to infect Redd and attempted against myself and Ammaus (Which allowed the hacker to remotely control Redds PC) are targeted personal attacks not just our forums. Which means to me means it becomes infintely more serious. Because at a point the game no longer becomes worth playing. All of the metagaming taken out against myself and others close to me have just been a long line of escalating events. This time it was just my forum account that got hacked, what could happen next time? Hack my internet banking and steal my money? Access my Facebook account and steal my personal information and use it to potentially harm my friends and family? After a point this no longer is a game and it jeopardises everything myself and my friends have in our RLs. With someone connected to this already going to the tourble of harrassing our players families it's really not at all worth it and I refuse to play with or against people that think that this kind of behavior is acceptable.

    OK folks, I chucked this into wood scraps since it ultimately isn't RELEVANT so let's lay down a ground rule or two to just keep this sarcastically silly. - YES, THIS IS A TROLL POST. - Feel free to add your own doctrines or reply with your modifications of choice. - Yes, I should have called it the "Fifty Doctrines" or such, 12 sounded cool at the time. - Let's not make direct reference to other players, PLENTY of threads all over for that. - Same goes for PvP vs PvE. Yes, I know, I'm constantly involved in those BUT... the Doctrines are supposed to be Wurmwide. (Yes, I was tempted. If I could hold back, so can you) - Try to snip down your quotes to avoid excessive scrolling. - SMILE Twelve Doctrines of Wurm I. Wurm is not a game, it is a way of life. II. Theft is an important part of the game, if mechanics are bypassed to rob you on Freedom, you should stop whining and go to PvP. III. Rolf owns Wurm and knows what's best for the game. If you dislike a change, leave. IV. Rolf is killing Wurm by trying to make the game more appealing to worthless new people. V. New players should get a brittle blunt stick and spawn areas should be surrounded by trolls. VI. Wurm constantly welcomes new players as long as they represent a profit for a few key old players. VII. Lowly casuals who tend to their jobs and families are lazy for not playing Wurm at least 8 hours a day and should be penalized accordingly. VIII. Wurm needs more revenue, new features should be developed to attract people. IX. You own nothing in-game. X. Wurm staff has the obligation of ensuring that people can profit in real life from Wurm. XI. All mechanics in Wurm should be kept secret and only discovered through hours of gameplay. XII. All QoL should be nerfed to keep the lazy casuals away, and be clearly and numerically explained by the devs.

    'Gratz on the new kid =D If you miss Wurm, however, I can tell you from experience: - Tearing up the sidewalk then digging "to flatten the borders" will get you fined with possible arrest. - Walking around the park with a brush grooming people's dogs won't get you arrested, and in fact leads to meeting interesting new people (and a good workout dodging purse slams from some ladies). - You're highly unlikely to find iron under your back yard. - Despite your good intentions, trying to jam a brick into a neighbor's fence won't earn you their gratitude "for trying to imp it". - The only question you'll get from meditating on random flower patches will be "Do you want me to call the cops?" - You can't permanently keep the kids on a boat to make it go faster. - Don't drink the sea water.

    My part in this conversation will be on the issue of "How did we end up here". I took the time to watch your complete video and even take notes before attempting to reply as this is a very sensitive matter. First of all, I have to say that I feel for you. Sailing in a boat, fleeing from a server while thinking back on all the memories and moments while recording it is heartbreaking and a tough thing to do for anyone. This might be new to you, but for the rest of us it's something we've done a coupe of times when you and your friendly kingdom decided that Chaos had no room for anyone but those that would bend their knee to your kingdom. Now, you too understand how it feels to be booted out of your lands and have all your belonging stolen. Who do I refer to when I say the rest of us though ? I mean those of us that paid for your 1500 euro worth of gear that you lost and so dramatically mourn for. Those of us who's gear you people have been stealing and looting for over four years now. Those of us whose deeds you've been draining all those years. Those of us who your kingdom has been mocking all those years with impolite and completelly off the political correctness map attitudes. Well, to you, "all of us", now welcome you. Congratulations, you're officially one of us now. One of us, one of us ! So before you rush to call me an emotionless pig full of empathy, think back, how many people your kingdom has made suffer and then come to realization, that all this that happened upon your kingdom, was simply the rage of monsters you yourselves created. When you push people so much, sometimes they lash out in unpredictable ways. And thats what happened here. The MRvJKvBL ear of Chaos is over. It ended in a way, I must say was unethical and unfair. But it was an end much needed. If I may say, this was actually the "reset" Chaos needed but didn't deserve. On the matter of "protesting against Chaos" let me assure you that nobody is going to miss your kingdom nor will the server die due to your absence. Quite the contrary, ever since your kingdom left, the server is blooming with TONS of new individuals coming from kingdom and setting up new PMKs. You see, sandbox games, suck or shine based on the individuals that play in them. And I may say that the new players that joined in, might not be the super warriors you and your guys used to be, but they have a very nice attitude which in turn attracts even more people in the server. Something your barbaric kingdom never done, never actually wanted, never actually planned to do. Now as for the rant on how staff members took 8 months to handle your case. I'm only going to say that they went off the rulebook to punish those that hurt you even after you had already quit. Yet you had the audacity to rant about staff members not doing their job. If I were you I'd stay silent. After all, no game mechanic was in fault for what happened to your kingdom. It was simply you not taking care about your own forums security. Sorry that I say those things, but knowing you people for many years, I might say that I don't feel bad about what happened to your kingdom. That's my feelings and I am entitled to them. Peace.

    Leading cave bug pet of your own gives +10% chance in mining off a rock while surface mining. What else could cave bug pet give boost? - Prospecting bonus +1 tile distance inside caves? - You could feed cave bug pet rock shards to keep them fat? - With high mining skill you could ask your cave bug pet to smell how deep rock is below dirt layer. (Mole senses, but only smells rock... not veins) - With high prospecting skill smelling rock below dirt layer includes veins (Mole senses) - With 100 prospecting and 100 mining, you can command your pet bug to Strongwall and Disintegrate! - With 100 milking you can....

    Sometimes suggestions can pinpoint a problem within mechanics or the game, but miss the mark in the solution, so when approached with suggestions, there's always an aspect of "what issue does this address?" For many suggestions, it's increased content, variety, and more expansive systems, for some its improvements in reducing tedious aspects of the game that serve no purpose. When making a suggestion, the key points to focus on is: What is the problem with the current system? What is the proposed suggestion? How does it address the problem? What is the intended end result? In this suggestion, I see its "people leave corpses on the ground and don[t bother burying them" We've implemented a few ways to improve that, the bury all function was to allow players to butcher mobs and bury them and the parts if they did not wish to collect them, and the rare coin also occurs for burying actions. I don't think that this would in any way stop that, those who wish to skill butchering tend to collect the mobs in a cart or wagon, and those who just want the fight and weapon skill don't butcher at all, to be honest I'm not even sure what the end goal of this suggestion is, and I'm sure many players aren't either, your original argument was wiping out steppes and such, but you discuss harvest times affecting the community in WO. If you're referring to creature counts, check out our server graphs, you'll see that despite huge amounts of hunting on all servers, spawns are quite stable, as a creature is killed, another one is spawned. this is why there's backlash against the suggestion, before putting it down to "herd mentality" or anything, the suggestion does not add incentive to bury, but punishes those who wish to butcher and identifies no clear issue and result.

    Simply turning off bloom in your client settings helps the wurm snow issue a LOT I love the snow and threy have already made winter the shortest season, so i hate to see them cut it back any more.

    Midpoints are dirt, approximately 90-100 dirt above water (3 stories). This is planned to be a permanent highway. Current houses on the spires are temporary and will go poof! when building starts. My official Bridge Engineer is Cevanne with awesome 98.8 masonry. All she needs are some 93ql bridge tools so if anyone has high QL bronze, please give a shout.

    I think it was Vanguard that had a "Appearance" armor tab, this would overrule visually whatever you actually had on, so the you had one tab for stat armor and another tab for vanity armor/cothing. Vanguard had some really nice looking clothes & huge variety in armor so everyone looked a little different and you could pick the exact look you wanted. I really liked that system. As far as microtransaction, while I like the idea of them being limited to cosmetic stuff, I also have always LOVED the fact that in Wurm, players make everything themselves, and COULD make everything in the game. I don;t think I want to see it evolve to a game where players make some things and other things are only bought at the company cash ship. Tailors and dyers especially deserve the chance to make a market niche for themselve by catering to the "luxury apparel vanity" market. Why can;t they earn a living like the other crafter skills. As far as tabards go, I lobbied before for a "warcraft style" of village emblems where the deed owner could pick from a preset group of logos then choose two custom colors to make their own "emblems" for flags, tabards, sails, horse barding, market stalls, etc. The mix and match of colors and symbols means you could actually have a pretty wide variety of results, without a lot of staff time approving each specific design and without the worry of inappropriate logos: http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/54884-village-emblems/

    Most of us know by now how hard it is to make (or buy) runes, much less high ql ones - and once you make them the next big hurdle is trying to attach them. What if we can significantly boost your chances of attaching the runes to the items you love? This is the service that Inspira and I are offering here.     On epic it's common for enemies to trade with each other and we hold our word to a deal. If we break a deal and kill you, it would be like a freedomer commiting a scam in everybodies eyes, you won't find any problems trading cross-kingdom with us

    I'm going to use a textbook political answer here when it comes to building new things that nobody wants. This project will create new jobs, will boost economy and trade, will increase and open cultural connections and tourism. This is only a good thing for everyone.     The spires are 90 dirts tall which is more than enough. Also, bridge supports are I believe 5 tiles apart, which is plenty of room to miss them, unless you're drunk...and then you deserve to hit them. haha As for getting moved to this sub-forum I requested to be moved back to the Town Square. There are dozens of server-specific threads in that sub-forum that are never moved, so I see no reason why this one was. I put it in the Town Square for a reason.

    I just began playing about a 30 days ago, and honestly the game has felt like it's worth every penny. The community is great and the trade chat is still booming, I'm part of the Amish Estate and the NEXA alliance and we usually have a large group of people hanging around, Most locations are bit slow right now due to the Shrimpalong happening and everybody seems to have migrated to Independence for the time being. The game still has a lot of life within it, and many loyal players, the features are endless and enough land available to let your imagination run wild. I've had a few conversations with my gf about the population, and although wurm online is a true sandbox game.. having a large player base would somewhat hurt it in a way.. the idea of bumping elbows in every direction with people... would drive us nuts, so we love how much space there is for us to do anything we want. Anyway I'm sure you'd enjoy a comeback hopefully your friends still play, but there is always new people out there looking too make friends.

    As before mentioned in the older thread I am interested in participating in the road building aspect of the project. I have already started scouting the area on the north side of the proposed bridge for an ideal highway location to attach to other highways. So, far I have a few potential routes, some difficult, some easier, some passing no more than 10 tiles from any existing deeds. What I would really like is someone to collaborate with about the route, as this would only be the 2nd highway I've ever built in Wurm, and back then we couldn't even pave diagonally! I am ready to start building a highway now, however I wont start yet. Instead, since I have build access to the deeds that Shmeric set up I will build some places for people to do some basic living out (horse park, beds, cooking, etc.).     Nm the counting, I'm restoring where I see the need (The main reason why I have so many big deeds is that I am a nature hugger)

    Rolf has stated that he'd prefer more winter, so posting this topic every 42nd day wont help. I'm pretty sure the current devs respect his view on it.

    Considering all the other work and dirt involved, I'm not too worried about bricks & mortar. Agreed. I live on the outskirts of Newspring, and have given people rides to the mainland before, and seen a few death piles. It would also be wonderful to be able to bring animals to and from the mainland. It would be a shame if I were to move somewhere else someday and have to leave them all behind. For what it's worth, I have spoken to one or two others who have been opposed to the idea in the past, but they appear to be significantly in the minority.
