    It's not very balanced, and any sort of balancing we'd want to look at at this stage is "too late" and will just cause more problems than it's worth (see: Refresh a few months ago). Without doing a full overhaul of it, there are still changes that need to be made (like DR scaling in PoI) and tweaked - but every change that could be made is going to be met with complaints and demands for free path changes etc etc. Better to have another full look at the entire feature, see what could be done better and do it all at once rather than spreading out more tweaks and changes that demand path changes over months/years. It also ties into the UI overhaul where I'm aiming to flesh out a bunch of seemingly half-completed features, or things that most players (or new players) don't realise exists or never stumble across them to use/take advantage of them. E.g. with meditation there is nothing really in the client showing whats possible - there is the skill you see, and maybe you'll go looking in the wiki to see what meditating is - otherwise you'll maybe stumble across it via chat or randomly making a meditation rug. Having a proper place for it in the client, clearly showing the path and possible abilities/bonuses, and what out of them you can work towards adds a sort of tangible goal for some players, something that can be worked towards with visible progress instead of the odd event message every few weeks when you level up on your path or having an extra option in some menu hidden away somewhere. Edit: It's also not completely throwing out the current system to replace it. The idea currently is to add more possible abilities for each path to allow for more choice for everyone - with mechanics involved that relate to that.

    Altars cannot be stolen, nor dispelled and only pushed since a few. Their total lack of value is not the same as a hive. With the insane range requirement, many of us have their hives on the deeds borders, that system make it easy for any wanabe griefers to take the queens freely. Yes please, make locked hives protected. The whole deed it or lose it is already broken, give us a way to prevent hives thievery.

    Okay so let's be honest here. I'm cold, bored, and a bit tipsy with nothing else better to do, so why not share the (rather genius if i may add) idea that I just had. I'm thinking about developing a web application that would eventually have a set of tools like calculators (and possibly a cookbook with all the recipes that would help you find the best meal from what you have, assuming it's not against the rules). And even a forum selling/buying tool that you would only need to select what you're buying/selling alongside a quantity and price and it would create an image format with everything in it including picture of the item and a description etc.(sort of like how auction calculators work). What do you guys think? do I go through with this? and what other suggestions do you have? it's worth to say that this would not be my first time doing this, I've done this previously with two other games (Eternal-Lands, Knight Online), both were well received but and the last one was heavily used right up until the hosting decided to burp it out and crash everything.

    Wurm University is a training Player Made Kingdom (PMK) in Wurm Online that exists to train new players in the basics of life on the Chaos PvP server. The University will build a strong PvP reputation in HOTA, roaming PvP and raiding when required. It will have robust management with Chaos veteran players to help build knowledgeable lecturers (instructors) and quality students. The heart of the kingdom resides in teamwork through PvP, kingdom events and cooperative help in the alliance chat channel. Wurm University’s objective is to teach players how to play Wurm Online on Chaos and create more content for all players on Chaos. In order to accomplish this mission we will constantly adapt, evolve and change as Wurm changes. Players are welcome to join us to learn what they can and either strive for a higher position within the Kingdom to help with the newer players, or join another PMK that they are interested in. Wurm University can provide guidance and knowledge on how to survive and thrive on the Chaos server. Our experienced players known as Dean's, can help newer or older players to establish themselves and gain know-how to play as a successful Chaos player. The Kingdom can currently provide: an escort from freedom servers to Chaos established deed (currently the capital) - with room for player built housing. horses kingdom armour sets kingdom weapons basic tools food (nutrition and CCFP) Other kingdom provided wares can be added as the kingdom grows and we have more players to share the load. Wurm University wants newer or older players that are willing to give the Chaos server a try. We want keen and enthusiastic students to learn all there is about Wurm Online and we want the experienced freedom players to shorten the newer players learning curve; and possibly learn a thing or two about the different game mechanics that the Chaos server provides. Our only requirements for player involvement in the kingdom are simply that you: have a premium active account; can ride a horse (21 Body Control); and have a minimum of 70 fight skill. On specific request, we will accept very new players without the two skill requirements if the person is requiring the knowledge or assistance to grind these two specific skills. However, these skill levels will be mandatory before a player can receive Kingdom armour or weapons. If you are new to the game or a veteran freedom player that would like to experience the rush of full loot drop PvP, then consider joining Wurm University.     I'm bumping up an old thread because I want to call someone specific out for an amazing deed. Most have heard that the MR forums were hacked, and subsequently someone got onto my account, stole everything of value and sold it so quickly that nothing could be done to recover it. Enki found my most prized lost possession, my black drake armor, had been sold to someone (who had NO idea it was stolen). this person contacted me and after verifying it was my lost set, SENT IT BACK TO ME. I couldn't afford to pay him what he spent but he didn't ask for anything. So, salute to my new hero, Smokesthebear (Snorlax on the forums). If you see him around Exodus, make sure to salute. Also, if any of you purchased on November 26th a smc, supreme hatchet (maker - charabis), a rare hatchet with a very good imbue, an addy helm or glitter axe, enjoy the spoils of my losses and hope you get many years of good use out of them!

    Would like to see ( pages ) added to the crafting window for example you add 1 log and 1 saw to make planks in the 2 available slots on 1 page. I would like to see a arrow on the right upper corner ( next crafting page ) where you then can add a plank and ribbon to craft other objects run out of planks? switch to the 1st crafting page instead of exchanging tools and materials ( it saved the tools and materials used on this page much like the toolbelt ) you can set up maybe 5 pages of tools and mats and bounce between them

    Ok, so... It seems that the next larger update (ETA: before the end of this year) will be filled with graphics-related changes, so I am taking a suggestions that are related to this aspect of the program. Two changes I can already confirm is a farm planning mode and lightning in caves (similar to actual Wurm caves). From technical side, the graphics library will stay the same (JOGL), but the renderer will be rewritten to allow the use of more shaders and better optimizations.

    Really? Why on earth are you complaining about a QoL change? They made it easier because the skillgain sucked and surface mining is a chore, people in the past have probably quit over how bad it was. People wont slice and dice, it's still pretty slow.

    So we have the cooking overhaul. It's awesome, I've been spending time lately solely on finding new recipes. I managed to find my weaponsmithing affinity, a channeling one and now looking for other good ones. Also made a pizza for which my villagers love me now. There are talks going about reworking the meditation system. Good idea as well, it needs something done to be more appealing and less punishing. What about overhauling the building system? 1. New materials. First of all, there have been suggestions, ideas, questions and whines about log houses. Why not? Easy, quick way to put up a shed in the middle of nowhere without having to find iron. Especially useful to new players however it would surely need some restrictions otherwise we'd have tons of these around the wilderness. Probably more than there are now. Second of all, I've seen a suggestion about round cobblestone walls somewhere today. Why not add all types of cobblestone? Sure it would need more mortar to stick together but it would sure look nice. Third of all, imagine a nice wall that looks almost like timber framed walls but it's tougher and more like a house wall rather than a barn wall. Basically a concrete wall with rock shards or steel beams inside for strength. Teepees and huts made out of sticks and covered with leaves or hides. Basically would work like tents except they'd be available to be made in the wild. 2. New features, structures, types of walls and constructions. So far I came up with just a few nice ideas such as: - a basement (decreased decay for foodstuffs, speeds up fermentation, it's like a cave right underneath a chosen area with a floor above it and the walls reinforced) - round walls (I believe it would be rather difficult to achieve but imagine if we could finally make round towers on our castles) - shipyard (a building in which you can dig so ships can sail in if the roof is high enough) - grainmill (a wheel in the water (borders right next to a wall need to be at least 30 slopes down) OR a windmill instead of a roof that grinds cereals faster the stronger the wind blows and with both - a huge grindstone inside which you can open, throw some wheat inside and it is ground into flour over time - press house (same idea as the grainmill but it has a huge press inside that can turn strawberries into juice over time) - castle wall (double as thick as a normal wall, can withstand double as much damage but uses 2,4x more resources so instead of 20 bricks for a wall it uses 48) There could be way more adjustments, advancements, new tools, resources, walls, buildings etc etc. For now I just want to leave this idea here for people to discuss.

    actually a fresh install of win7, I didn't install any drivers and it would give the a crash stating it couldn't form a window so I went to the HP site and got the drivers for the laptop there and now I'm getting this crash. (Maybe it needs a rare beehive j/k)

    What I "think" Greyfox means, is that the weekly update news contains more information about certain changes, related to bug-fixes and tweaking to the game, as the patch notes do. He has posted it here: I also "think" he's one of the players who've been hit by the tweaks with the hell horses, saccing for Nahjo and a forthcomming change in meditation; making him a bit grumpy. Mind you, I use "think" because I can't look inside someone's head and see / read their thoughts. So I might be mistaken as well. Thorin

    Amphoras have increased decay resistance, so there's already a huge advantage over other containers.
