    I have two small suggestions that I think would benefit the community greatly. These are not directed at the Devs, but at the players, thus why I did not put in suggestions forum. 1) If you are going to offer a PC please consider whether you would be prepared to pay that amount less 10 percent. Consider that if you are so confident in your PC then you should be able to purchase the item for 10% less than your suggested price and resell it for a profit with little or no effort. This drives me mad when I have been trying to find a particular item and when I finally do, someone has given the seller an outrageous PC. 2) Please don't delete the tile and contents of your WTS/WTA posts once they are complete. The best way to PC an item is to see what it sold for previously. If you want to mark it as closed, just add [Sold] or some such to the beginning of your title.     I have this image in my head of people 'slashing and bashing' so hard in a nerd rage completely lacking situational awareness to need these dedicated healers? Or people rushing and pushing limits in an attempt to get all the loot? It may just be the nature of pve and large groups I don't know, the rifts I have participated in have ranged from 2-10 people working together no deaths and the only horse lost was someone lacking situational awareness. I don't think there is a need for healers unless that's the role someone wants to play and if it's someone's alt then why do they need twice the loot when these events aren't stopping anytime soon. From my point of view it's a bit of fun to break up the monotony and our loot still doesn't even do anything, not everything has to be a cash cow and sometimes things should just be some fun to share with others.

    I will be at all the rifts I can attend, just the timing can be off for me. Bottom line is they are fun and I really don't give a damn about the drops.

    Just for the record. Unless there's a major exploit or urgent reason, WU updates only come out as beta before going live. That means that any update that goes to Wurm Online will go to Wurm Unlimited as a beta first, updates to Wurm Unlimited do not bring it up to equal release as Wurm Online. This means the adamantium fix wont be in until it appears in the beta notes

    From a priest perspective... The one i attended I used my main to fight and Fo was casting light of fo and between that shooting arrows (focusing on single target until dead), that one was easy i suspect next time she will not have time to shoot arrows. My other Fo never got near battle as he was too squishy, but he did a full heal. Now before i go further, events I attend I will still take both both priests and do the same thing i did (probably minus the arrows as probably not going to have the time, idk), no buts. Light of Fo is not free, one I can cast once and maybe a second time with a good pause (100 faith), but a third time does not happen without a gem and other heals obviously require gems. When i am avoiding fights with my priest so i can cast on groups who need it (and not be interrupted) i have to basically stop everything i am doing with my main, i.e. i am probably not fighting or making key moments to stay in the fight, or worse i have accidentally become flanked by something that has agro on me, yes this only lasts a few seconds at a time or more depending on if the fight has moved away and i have to turn a horse that seems to have the same agility as a knarr in a bad wind when i need to turn 180, point is i lose out. If i have to get my 2nd Fo involved this is even more difficult as then i have to keep one in the fight (main), one in/out of the fight (Fo), and move the third into a safe position and heal the person needing it. I cannot actually control moment and maintain situation awareness on multiple chars at all times. My main is there to fight and get good loot. My main Fo is there to help not to fight so for now she is merely a on-demand, in-the-fray healer. The alt Fo is triage, full heals. So my main looses opportunity to get loot if i am making my Fo useful, which is fine, as my priests i would expect get some token reward. I was totally cool that it cost me few gems that fight, as both my priests got a nice little seryll lump....Fair trade. But it will be less fun if comes to my main not getting anything due to trying to help with my healers, but getting nothing for heals, and i suspect ill cost more gems in the future. i would not expect 3x the loot, just would be nice to get the same loot as 1 full time fighter. I suppose i could level my Fo's FS, but i want the skill on my main and would really defeat purpose of having a healer, i.e. if i spend my time fighting on my healer to get loot then heals would naturally be secondary, my altruism can only reasonably go so far.

    Hello everyone. I did it again! This time 1000 of them and a little special enjoy! A four months project i been working on and I'm glad I managed to finish it!! Special thanks to Moogien for helping with logs and creating some piles and Shrimpiie for taking the awesome screenshot from above. I do not know the amount of charcoal yet,i'm still picking it up,ill update once i know. 28.8k Total charcoal. Finaly,after a good part of them burned out i managed to take a screenie with smoke

    Ok, so I decided rather than reset hota today like I usually do when it breaks, I would do some experimentation. End result, PITA, but works until this junk acts right. Look in database wurmitems.db items table, search by name %pillar% and find one of the colored pillars of the hunt that has not been revealed. Copy its WurmID, in game type #loadItem <paste> and press enter. Drop the pillar, and they can conquer it, hota will end, all is well.

    There are other threads that mention spidersilk and I wanted to revive the concept, plus add some specifics I'd like to see with it. First off, there are different types of spiders: Giant, Lava and Fog. I think each should drop silk of different characteristics in armor crafting: 1. Giant drops the strongest silk, providing the best overall physical attack resistance. 2. Lava silk is less for physical, but high flame resists. 3. Fog - you guessed it, bonus to dodge and stealth (those bloody bast...). Spidersilk by default should weigh than cloth and provide the same movement and no impedance to combat or spell casting, but be as protective as leather armor. It should also require it's own skill, under tailoring. "Wurmhole, you jerk! That would ruin all my years of work skilling cloth and leather crafting!" Well, to answer: not if we limit the silk drops to only rare rolls when butchering. Also, we need to make spidersilk behave like leather imping, where the silk QL can be lower than the crafted item. Please consider drake hide armor. Did it kill the leather armor market? Nope. Why not have spidersilk craftable by CT skill? Because I want everyone to have equal opportunity to raise themselves up to master crafter levels, at the time it is introduced. How do we skill this, with it being so rare? We also add a coin pouch. This tiny little pouch can be crafted from a single drop of silk and imped for days on a second drop of silk. In fact, the super stretchy qualities of spidersilk make using it to improve have an almost imperceptible amount of loss over time. - Coin pouch would have the special quality of combining all coins into larger amounts & auto gather coins from praying. - Imping coin pouches raises QL VERY slowly, due to the incredibly intricate nature of the materials (yes, so we don't have to make 100 pouches and have them all taking up inventory space, or using up too much silk to level the skill). I detest the wastefulness of wurm's current craft grinds, making 100 needles, 100 butcher knives, 100 rope tools, 100 ores, etc. Finally, we have to have spidersilk packs! Weigh half as much as a satchel and carry as much as a regular backpack. By the time this is released, I'm sure the excitement of the 10yr knapsacks will have worn off and everyone will be itching for the latest packs to show off. Appearances are everything!! Make the armor and packs reflect the spiders they came from: - White - Orange - Somewhat greyish/foggy/smoky looking, without looking like Pig Pen from Charlie Brown cartoons. I think that covers it, but please add more suggestions or changes to keep this viable. PvP? Not sure how good or bad this will impact it, but I imagine it would be similar to the release of drake hide armor.

    First Fog Spiders, when they get removed after the fog goes away, there is some lag that occurs. I am not sure if this is due to the cleanup itself, or perhaps the corpses or what, but during the huge lag spike you will see Fog Spider Count is now: 300, then later Fog Spider Count is now: 200, In between all this there is a ton of no such creature exceptions. HotA statues when WU first came out spawned with random colors, and we had the ability to change those colors. Changing the colors not so much of an issue, but now they all come out red, there is never any variation. I think this has to do with them being set to unchangeable no destroy/bash. If you adjust the speed on boats beyond a certain point, they start going backwards. This happens when modding, also when using the command #vespeed on vanilla servers. When a player changes from one connected server to another, and their data is transferred, their achievements are given timestamps instead of the date format. This causes ugly errors when starting up, if allowed to grow to too many errors the server will not start. Have been fixing this with an SQL command, but the command I am using just sets them to a specific date, which does not reflect their actual time/date of gaining the achievement. Hell horses, and I have also seen others report that other hell creatures are not spawning. Also aggressive creatures and respawns seem to have issues, there is another thread about this having something to do with noneNewbie flag of some sort. There are still issues where HotA will not spawn the 4th pillar sometimes. Which a workaround has been found, it requires that an admin who can look at the database is available. Very annoying, been a bug since the beginning. Is it possible we are setting up HotA wrong, are there some conditions we should be aware of that may solve this. Could very well be user error, but some clarification would be nice if so. -------------------------------------- The fog spider issue is the only one kinda breaking the game at this point. Others are minor bugs and annoyances.     I'm really curious, why was the gift event only a measly 7 days? I cant be the only one who missed out on the gifts, considering it was enough to get me to re-sub for the time on multiple characters. This quite literally made me want to re-sub now than at some future point. I can only assume this was the driving point behind this particular event, and considering it's the summer a good idea right? Because i was away, i got nothing, and immediately regretted subscribing again. So again, why limit it to 7 days? Who was the target audience for this, existing daily premium players? You can see how this is a bit annoying to say the least, not just for me, but should be for you as well. This isn't some random event, it's supposed to be something important, strategic, and business driven, or is it? So here's my 10th anniversary story from a guy who's playing this game since 2004: - Left game a number of months back out of boredom. - Oh look, anniversary event? cool, let's resub after hearing about some fun unique items, 10th only comes once right, so must be good! - Resubscribe a few accounts, likely more. So much character hours and prem time!! - Get nothing. wtf. - Find out you had to read deeper into the forums for patch notes indicating the days required. Too bad so sad, get out of my store. - Yell at your inactive townies because you are pissed off, generally turning them off on coming back. Sounds whiny and complain driven right? It is, but the fact remains something that trivial is enough for an 'n' number of people to subscribe, including me. For me it's a failure, as had i known there was nothing to be had, i would not have subscribed. Lots of my inactive town members were keen to re-sub on multiple accounts but did not based on me being annoyed. Here's your primary source consumer data for next time. So in short, make events longer or you could start by putting dates/times into the main patch notes on the client and website instead of deeper in the forums. How many people actively read the forums versus those who play? Exactly. Imagine someone reading directly that they -have- to get premium by a certain date to get items or extending events based on results! EUREKA!! $$$! -Done.

    You got me; I spent hours blazing a trail to the rift and setting up a public camp so that as many people as possible could participate because I wanted an extra shoulder pad on my alt, even though I knew I wouldn't even be able to attend the Rift in question. I then spent the whole next Rift tanking and pulling mobs and assisting sub-par fighters in hopes that I would steal their loot. On top of that, I used my alt to heal mostly sup-par and newbie fighters in hopes that they would give me their loot. Would some of the opponents on this topic please consider that the rest of us may be trying to build a structure where dedicated fighters, hybrid fighters/healers and dedicated healers all have a role and incentive to participate. Would you rather play a turn-based game where you fight a few mobs, back out and heal, and then go back in? Or would you rather that the entire group be able to coordinate their efforts to fight as effectively and actively as possible? If i just wanted more loot I would have left my priest home where he can earn at least a silver a day farming rather than have him spending favor healing strangers in hopes of developing a more exciting and rewarding experience for the entire community. All we are suggesting is that this system be promoted and rewarded.

    Hey guys, Minmiss here, (at least that's my in-game name) and I am one of Crossguard Village's regular players. I thoroughly endorse the above message and recommend you come join us if you like the idea of working in a team to achieve the best outcome for the whole community. Come join us and become part of the biggest new group on Xanadu, we have 8-10 people on regularly, and another 5 or so that are in on weekends and we all love making our village better. If you're new and want a safe place to come live and learn we are that place, if you have been in game a while and are tired of playing alone, then come build with us and make your mark on the world. If you are playing from anywhere in the world it doesn't matter, we have people on most of the time, I myself am usually in game for 18 to 24 hours at a time, and we have people who play during the day in the US as well as more that play during the night. If you are looking for a hand out, look elsewhere as we believe in building your own abilities (not meaning you can't specialise). You can get the tools you need, but only if you are contributing in some other way to the village. If you wanna help us, that's great, but don't come and try to give us high level items or the like as we want to achieve that on our own. Oh, and do be aware we love to chat on Teamspeak and some of us are quite chatty, so be prepared to join in on voice coms, and of course it goes without saying, above all have fun :-)

    There is no hota. The way each priest can obtain money is different for each god, and that's detailed in the original post under the 'religious guide' sections. There isn't a deed size cap, but there is a soft limit in that you would need to perform a lot of the main religious actions to get the money to pay the founding cost and upkeep for a large deed. Additionally, with dirtwalls limited to 43 slope and Templars limited to 3, the intention is that undefended blocking deeds will be easier to drain. The spell lists I want people to find out in-game. They are different for each god.

    I usually give PC from prices normally sold for or recent prices from the forum sales. In regards to WTS & WTA Post's they don't get deleted by staff, But the person who has created the thread obviously can edit there posts so it no longer shows what they had for sale. I think it's aimed at the players rather than a suggestion post for game changes.

    Afaik what people asked for (that triggered this feature) was a way to not have to sail for hours on Xanadu to get to the servers/coasts on the other side. This feature has been very apreciated even if we all ofc want a way to make our ships faster!

    i dont understand this healer stuff, every single fight we've done on pvp has been with substandard numbers and we always managed to heal ourselves even if we didn't have prieststhat could heal but most times we did have a minimum cure light on a main, i dunno what the problem is, if theres 50 people you can just back out for 30 seconds and heal the big wounds and go back and heal with lt while one of the other 49 tank

    Check it's not a new player too, I often notice VirtualZone errors like that for newly logged in, brand-spanking-new-to-the-server-players, until, they logout and log back in again a few times. If it's a new player, I tend to ignore it.

    i like the concept. If you get enough of this stuff over time it becomes go to armor for priests. would give anyone who cares to kill enough spiders a shot at earning / creating a special reward. a bit like poor man's drake hide without having to submit yourself to the huge crowds when you happen to hear about a slaying. its time spiders contributed something other than that annoying clicking sound +1

    Discovered this during lunch today, made keenan aware, have also possibly found how to fix it, but until another update would have to be done via mod. I have not had time to test the theory I have yet, when I know it works I will let everyone know. Hint, if you look at other armour items that you know don't show up and compare them to armour items you know do display, you will see a difference... You will notice that same difference on all the pauldron templates. It may not be the problem but seems aweful suspicious.

    I had just taken the old map he gave me and turned the water black, changed it to 16 bit greyscale, and did some blurring etc, but the snow area in the north was max height and made a mess, the rest of the map wasn't bad. So now I am using an outline of the map converted to a svg and importing that as a shape into world builder. Just takes a whole lot more twinking around in WB haha.

    Has anyone considered doing a mod that allows a ship to go automatically from one location to another back and forth like a ferry? For those of us with few bridge building skills or the inability to make a decent ql dioptra yet, a ship that is set to automatically make the crossing would be a bonus, waiting at each location for a given period before moving off again. Even better if it could be incorporated with an automatic Stable Master to convert your animals to tickets and back so you can move your animals as well. Build ship. Sail it to point 1 Lock in location and set wait time. Sail to point 2. Lock in location and set wait time. Sail back to point 1. Lock in start point and select auto. Ship now sails between those points and waits for the given time at each location indefinitely. The course you used to sail to each location is stored and used every time unless an AI pathing algorithm can be incorporated. Possibly have any number of locations so it can go around the entire map if you want, stopping at given locations on the way.
