I understand that view, but i feel the bad out ways the good in the situation. in many cases its a quite ###### system as well. We'll use zeke dying on mrh as an example. By no means did mr win that fight, rome definitely did, but, 1 person on romes side did manage to die, with this system and now no moving corpses, even though rome was winning the fight, they couldnt get the corpse back due to players hiding in a gatehouse a few tiles away. A ###### system rewarding people for hiding in a gatehouse. Doesnt that sound exactly like the situation you said? The side that lost the fight wouldve came out ahead because they managed to get 1 corpse that was more valuable

In late november 2015 i decided to make a rare gold chain armour set. Yesterday 18th january 2016 i made the last piece a gold chain boot. The boots was very tough to make had like 25 - 30 rolls on them with successful imp, but not turning to rare. All together used up about 9k ql 26 gold to get the set.

it will work fine. I ran a 2048 map on an i7 quad core with 16GB ram, with a 1 million creature spawn test, to try taxing the server. I got up to 3% CPU and about 2GB RAM at the peak of the spawn growth. It just gets laggy after a week, if you don't give it a reboot. With normal creature count of around 10k, I was only using about 700MB - 1GB of RAM. 1-3% CPU

For those who don't know me as I am a Deli rat. I have five deeds up on Deliverance and the last one I put up is virgin land, on Deli, I know this is rare for as old as this server is. Evan as I type this I'm putting down 4k dirt that I had sitting in BSBs after working on the Cloud Chaser. It feels kinda odd to be breaking into new untouched territory, almost like I am about to suffer the wrath of the game it self. Since the spot I have will be requiring so much dirt, I will be taking it from Cloud Chaser and moving it to the new place. This means the deed will be disbanded once I am done with removing the dirt. Before I get to removing the dirt put down I offer you a open invitation to come and take a look for your self of what view the current deed has to offer. I will be popping the building soon. If you do decide to take a look, be warned there is a 200 slope with no guard rail. And then the top floor of the building doesn't have a guard rail either. You do not have much time left as once I'm out of the 4k of dirt I have here I will be moving all my dirt moving equipment to this southern location. I will put a newer youtube video up of the place but with it being fall it isn't the best looking of views. This one I am posting is a bit old as the building is done except for those guard rails. Located along the South coast with in game map coordinates T 17 or using the Community map coordinates X28 Y48.

This person attempted to scam me by ordering 5k mortar, continually badgering me to keep lowering the price over the week so they could resell it here at a normal price without my knowing. Caniee/Tolson had told me they didn't 'have enough' silver on the agreed payment when the time came, trying to undercut me even further on the agreed price and postponing pickup by a week. This person then tried to convince me to create 15k mortar without picking up or paying for their previous order while demanding a "discount" on the bulk order I hadn't agreed to. Very rude. A great business strategy to buy low and sell high. Not very nice to try to scam and take advantage of suppliers. Be wary dealing with this person!

Update 1.1 with better transition between ore veins as requested. Update 1.2 converted all textures to .dds I am looking into making this a mod loader plugin for those who are interested. Gallery Texture Pack Update 1.2 for .dds textures *I am releasing a texture pack that I put together which includes 3 textures from ByblosHex found here. The rest were either taken and compiled by me or edited to fit the scale.*

I always had a dream about making something big so i had Odynn to keep Calmport at ingame map T19 up and not disbanding, Finally i started building it, it dont perhaps seems so much, but the plan is to build a large marble bridge out to a made island out in the water, dont sound as much but i want to make a light house there and 3 Colossus, 1 looking East 1 Looking South and last towards West. the light house ill gonna try match the Colossus height if possible in middle of theese 3 ones, i will Dye them all, with highest possible rgb i can make, South will be Blue for sure, East and West i need suggestions, and ill prefeer rather easy colors, dont wanna do a dark purple or a orange one. I have started my Project with help from Odynn and Gemfinder and when the building towards Marble bridge and Colossus starts ppl are all free to help and be apart of it. Will post some pictures of area we do and are at, it will take some time before i can start building / raising island. Just got up a 100% work area. Ill keep posting and have ppl updated, i know many ppl are busy theese days and so on, But this is a fun project i am inviting ppl to join as soon i fixing the road - farm area and have calculated how much mats i really need, but ill gonna make this one just coz its a challenge. ( u ppl know me and colors ill like them ^^ ) And when i logged of and posting this it looks like this, Relocated mine entrence abit flooded but concrete fix that part, Spirit castle up and courier 95 so now we can work more efficiently.. as it so far it dont look that special, but from that point where the marble braziers are i want to extend with a bridge need to plan and redo some, in my mine i got 6 uncovered marble veins so its enough ill should guess, ill try to keep this updated. And we have a added member to project Yggrasil, My irl friend Redreamer that started play this game and Really like it. Gone awhile now and i had a hdd chrash i lost all pics + new update had my buildings go poof with out any clue why, But my Shrine i am Built inside mine is still there and currently rebuilding castle, Some new pics, and i been busy with other projects aswell so it takes time. Using key binding, if you for example bind u light_token you can be a vynora priest and cast light token. The only one that does not seem to follow this is heal (not sure why). And yes before you ask....before reporting this I ran an out of the box server and tested with no mods, to make sure it was not a priest mod issue. Perhaps the issue is that normally your spell list comes from a check against your god of what spells they can cast, but this is just the list to select from. Binding it bypasses that check and just checks favor...If this is the case I worry that this may also be an issue on WO? Just had one of my staff members check casting opulence with their Nahjo priest, and it did not work. So thankfully this seems to only effect WU.

Spirit templars won't attack branded animals, but other Wurmians still will auto attack if they aggro you. Say you take your cart to do a job on or off deed and is walking around the cart or your friends or any other passers-by are, and the horses aggro you, there is a real possibility that you will kill your hitched hellhorse if you are not unequipped when they aggro you. It may be just me but I think it would be awesome if they become like for Fo priests, non aggro, to all Wurmians, the moment they are branded. Also another bump to the suggestion of adding complex permissions for mobs and specifically hellhorses, on our deeds, which means we can also keep them on deed unbranded, without the fear of them being killed by guards.

No, it's to reward players for winning a fight instead of winning the "take bind spam" competition when someone dies. It used to happen all the time where one side would lose a fight but actually come out ahead because they managed to grab the more valuable corpses. Trust me, it was a LOT worse back then.

To be honest with you I think most people would support the Devs changing it officially. Rather than see someone pour time and effort into a modpack. I mean, WOA is a fairly common weapon-enchant and it USED to do something, no idea why it was changed in such a way. Specifically on the topic of a WU modpack to change this "feature"... I'm not sure how much of a demand there would be as I don't play WU, but I'll +1 anyway because why not. (and personally I want to see this changed on WO)

I am a priest and am kind of on the fence. While I always am a bit scared to cast on people's rare or better items, I do warn them of the chance of a shatter. Do I shatter non skillers often? Think I have only shattered 3 since I hit 80 channeling. (yes they were all a while ago) I do not think it is fair to compare casting to imping items. It just isn't the same. While a high quality tool or weapon is nice. A high quality enchanted tool or weapon is what people shoot for. There should be some risk for that. I just don't know that I know where that middle is or even if we have that middle ground now. Please know that I am not saying that people that have worked so very hard to gain the ability to imp to a very high level of any craft is not worth as much as a priest. I am saying that your work and mine together make them worth so very much more. Neither will be as good without the other.

I'm pretty sure about half the Wurm community runs this game on integrated graphics. You don't need an over powered GPU to run wurm or even multiple accounts. For a game like Wurm you could get a 550 and still run 4 clients with no problems. So long as you have enough ram and a decent CPU to support it. In retrospect, if you are on a budget the 950s are super cheap at $150. They're low heat and power consumption for the most part. Which will never be an issue in computers with non OC, or singular cards and chips. They are also one of the highest bangs for your buck you can get for a computer. I wouldn't get a 750, just on the basis that. It's already a 2-3 year old card and you'll have to replace it in 2 years instead of 3-5 years for saving about $30. When you are buying the low spectrum of a series. It's better to buy the current one.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound angry, but meant to sound annoyed. I brought this up to a couple of the local alliance leaders. One ( I think it was Ivan ) and he did mention a Victoria but I didn't know he was referring to the deed owner, sorry. Yes it is a bit inconvenient not having clay and launch available. There have been a few new players ( due to Steam? ) an I always referred them to Bayview for clay since that is one of the first material that is needed for thing like pottery and Bayview is the easiest for them to find without getting lost. Again I'm sorry and wish I could have talked to you one on one. If you could open up the clay again, that would be great. I didn't think anyone would do that on purpose, who could possibly use that much clay

Interview with GM & LCM, Shrimpiie! It’s been awhile everyone, but I’m happy to welcome you back to The Wurm Chronicles! Wurm’s favorite sea crustacean is with us this wave, and he’s ready to make a splash! Alright, alright, I’ll stop it with the salty puns. Let's begin! Slickshot: Other than the ocean, where do you reside Shrimp? Shrimpiie: Well, in-game-wise I reside on my deed Blackmoor up on the Independence server. Real life though? Right up here in Portland, Oregon. Slickshot: Have you always called Portland home? Shrimpiie: Portland, Oregon indeed I have called home all my life. As for in-game I’ve lived several places such as Exodus and Chaos in addition to my current residency. Slickshot: What kind of work do you do? You don’t work with seafood by chance, do you? Shrimpiie: I work at <classified classified classified>, it really is fun work with <classified classified>. Though no, it certainly does not involve seafood, I really don’t like it.... Slickshot: You’re obviously a very open guy, although I’m not surprised at your distaste for seafood because seafood is, of course, disgusting. How many years have you been swimming in this life? Shrimpiie: Now that would ruin the suspense wouldn’t it! Slickshot: What a bugger you are! Fine we’ll move along...If anyone knows you they know you obviously spend a lot of time within this community, whether that’s playing the game itself, attending to support tickets, or hanging around the forums. Would you say Wurm is your main hobby and favorite video game, or do you have others? Shrimpiie: Definitely Wurm is my main hobby and favorite game. Many other games have threatened to pull me from Wurm over the years, and many pull me away for a month or so, but I always tend to come right back to Wurm. I do enjoy TF2, the Fallout series, and the Elder Scrolls series which I bounce between while playing Wurm. Slickshot: Yes the Elder Scrolls are magnificent! I just recently started playing Fallout 4, so that’s been a fun experience. In the end, however, Wurm always seems to have that niche appeal to it, and you can definitely spot the veterans based on how they take vacations but always return for more! Speaking of a history with Wurm, let’s switch gears and talk about your tenure so far as a valued player. When did you first join Wurm Online? Shrimpiie: I began my Wurmian journey in Feb. 2012. Slickshot: And how did you find out about this little niche game? Shrimpiie: I had a good friend that told me to give it a try. I gave it a shot and was hooked but unfortunately my friend didn’t stick and thus I ended up with his account Omega. Slickshot: That’s a bummer. Thankfully the community is full of friendly people to neighbor up to. Which do you prefer, pvp or pve? Shrimpiie: I would say I prefer PvE over PvP simply to avoid the immense drama. That isn’t to say I don’t enjoy my time in PvP, just that if I had to pick one it’d be the former rather than the latter. Slickshot: Ah, we’re cut from the same cloth. Most of us who know you, know that you’re one of the top leather workers in the game. Not to build your ego too drastically, but in my experience and opinion you’re the best leather worker in the land. Have you always had an interest in that path in Wurm, or have you had other professions along the way? Shrimpiie: Woof, that is certainly flattering but I wouldn’t consider myself a top LeatherWorker really! As for it always being an interest, mostly yeah. When I began Wurm I wanted to be a ship builder, so I fashioned a bunch of low quality nooblet parts and had a friend begin the hull of a Corbita for me. You try building a Corbita with only 15 Shipbuilding and only succeeding 1/30 attaching actions… A local friend went out around that time and slew about 40 unicorns in the area for Fight Skill, I went out, picked all the corpses up in my nooblet small cart and butchered them for leather, then I started working with it to make armor and such and have been hooked ever since. Slickshot: As a matter of fact I have attempted to build a Corbita with approximately 15 shipbuilding. Needless to say it’s a ridiculous task and I gave up on it quickly. Can you tell us a few of your fondest memories so far from Wurm Online? Shrimpiie: Hm, getting my butt kicked to 0%(not dead) health by a champion unicorn was certainly an interesting experience… But as for truly fond memories, my very first Impalong I attended back in 2012, Willow’s last Impalong she hosted, was truly an amazing experience especially for a young nooblet like myself. Slickshot: It’s nice to see players having such treasured moments soon after coming through the portal. It really helps keep people involved in the community for years to come. What about personal achievements in-game? Are there any you are especially proud of? No judgment here, I swear. Shrimpiie: Do soon-to-be achievements count? If so then I would have to go with my deed here on Independence named Blackmoor. I dropped it down on a very mountainous rock face, and will be surface-mining ~1,100 tiles down ~200-300 dirt height. This is all before building the deed on top of course. I will definitely have pictures by dozens don’t worry! Slickshot: Oh yes, I remember you telling me about that undertaking on Teamspeak! That’s a massive load of work ahead of you, good luck on that. We’re going to drop into a topic here that is a bit of a tangle due to your varying amount of experience in several areas of volunteer staff. Currently you’re a GM and the LCM, correct? Shrimpiie: Indeed, I am GM Prawn and the LCM to the CM Team. Slickshot: Before we get into any details on that specifically let's back up just a bit. When I first invited you to the Chronicles for an interview you were the Lead Forum Moderator. Before that position you were a Board Moderator. Can you tell us where you began your resume with Wurm Online as a volunteer staff member? Shrimpiie: You already said it actually! Board Moderator was my first role in staff entirely! Slickshot: Hah, imagine that. I thought you would have been a CA at some point early on. Give us a little history on the other positions you held, if you would please. Shrimpiie: I applied and got the position of Board Moderator in January 2014 after having my application denied for CA a few months prior. About March 2014 I applied again for CA and got it. In about June 2014 the position of LFM came available and I figured I’d give it a shot, and got in. About a week later I was promoted to CM in-game also. About October 2015 I was given GMiT and by November 2015 I was a full GM. In late November the position of LCM opened up and so I applied for that, leaving LFM to Solmark. So in order: BM, CA, LFM, CM, GM, LCM. Slickshot: That’s quite the laundry list in such a short period of time! Makes me wonder if you have any skeletons in your closet...but we’ll save that for another discussion. So if you had to pick a position that was your favorite, which would it be? Shrimpiie: It would definitely be a toss-up between LFM and GM, as both were/are just incredible experiences. Slickshot: Ah, unfortunate that you left the LFM position then! Well it’s no secret that people are drawn to conflict, whether it be good or bad; that’s just how entertainment works. Are there any memorable conflicts or issues you’ve had to intervene in? Shrimpiie: The nasty ones tend to always be PvP oriented. Specifics I’ll leave out but a look through at any thread regarding PvP changes always tends to get personal. Slickshot: Aww, no juicy details? I feel jipped! Coming full circle to the beginning here, you confirmed being a GM and LCM. The GM’s, and occasionally the CM’s, seem to catch flack from players frequently when it comes to support-ticket rulings involving conflict amongst players. Do you feel that your team handles this kind of tension well? Shrimpiie: It is always difficult to handle tickets where both sides are adamantly stuck on their point of view as either way someone is going to get really pissed off. The same applies to the forums. As I told the FM Team many times, damned if you do, damned if you don’t. What I’ve found over my tenure of taking tickets and dealing with forum issues is that people that don’t get their way on issues get extremely upset, which I understand, but what they need to think of is that they are not privy to all the information, we are. A ruling may look entirely wrong and even based on some weak connection between the staff member and the case, but if that someone was to look at all the information that we look at when judging a case, they would understand why we made said judgement. Slickshot: Having all the information certainly helps, but unfortunately as players we are also faced with the “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” scenario. Sometimes you just can’t win it seems, but that’s a whole debate not worth getting into. Moving forward! We’ve had Enki on the Chronicles, and he’s a champ in his own right without a doubt. He’s done a very good job at being a thorough investigator and mediator ever since he took over the Head GM slot quite a while back. Here’s what I really want to know...What’s it like on the other side of the looking glass when you’re actually working with the man? Don’t worry, any disparaging remarks will remain a secret between us. Shrimpiie: He drives us hard with little pay, little sleep, and lots of beatings. Just kidding of course! I’m not usually one to be able to convey with words what my thoughts are on someone, so I’ll try my best to say that he is full of wisdom, and is the man everyone goes to for an opinion on matters. I certainly went to him a lot during my entire tenure as LFM. I’ve worked with him quite close over the past year and a half and he has always shown terrific judgement in direction of moderation. Slickshot: That sounds pretty accurate. He always seems to serve with equality in mind, even if sometimes equality doesn’t feel like justice. Nevertheless, he does a fantastic job and we all hope you will as well. Do you plan to continue your volunteer services into the distant future if able? Shrimpiie: Entirely. Slickshot: That’s wonderful to hear, as we’ve lost quite a few volunteer staff this past year. Speaking of the future, I’ve seen quite a few doomsayers proclaiming the demise of Wurm Online at the hands of Wurm Unlimited. Personally I don’t find myself concerned, and feel this is merely a repeat of any other significant changes we’ve undergone as a community in the past where we emerged strong and unwavering. What is your opinion on the fate of Wurm Online? Shrimpiie: The ultimate fate of WurmOnline? That is a topic for an entire discussion in itself really. I would have to say I really can’t envision Wurm having a massive player-base as that just isn’t how it’s setup to be, and changing it to being able to sustain a larger player-base I feel could simply do more harm than good. I feel that WurmUnlimited has become more of a direct competition for WurmOnline rather than a portal into WurmOnline, and have seen a large amount of players peter off to WU but never return to WO… WU is great in that it outsources development of the game, bug fixes, new additions that can simply be packed into any update of WO. I really do hope that with so many corrections of late that it looks better to outsiders who are contemplating giving WO a shot. Slickshot: Yeah, that’s definitely been a bit of an issue as of late with losing some of the player base, but as you said the outsourcing and bug fixing opportunities have been nice. Hopefully we’ll find a nice balance and start bringing in more fresh players from WU over to WO. Are you satisfied with the immense amount of work and content the development team have been pumping out so far this season and throughout the year? Shrimpiie: Indeed, there have been some much needed additions, and of course everyone is always up for bug fixing. Personally, I like to see 20 bugs fixed rather than a few large additions in game content, it just feels better really. Slickshot: Aye. Rolf and Co. have certainly done well to craft the continued evolution of Wurm Online over the years, and this year has been no exception. We’ve had so many updates and changes, from bridge implementation early in the year, to much needed bug slaying over the summer, to plotting sailing courses now in the late fall-early winter season, with plenty of cosmetic features and texture updates trickled in throughout. Not to mention a new permissions system which is shiny and fantastic! If you had to pick one feature or project you enjoyed the most in the past 12 months, what would it be? Shrimpiie: I would have to go with bridges, with the permissions update being a very close second. Permissions system in second place because I’m a bit old fashioned and still was entirely comfortable with how things were setup prior, just that now it makes things a bit easier. The bridges are a very long awaited feature to WurmOnline, and they give a whole new dynamic to deed construction. Slickshot: I couldn’t agree more myself. The amount of creativity from the player-base after the release of bridges has skyrocketed. Bravo Wurmians, bravo! If you had the opportunity to put a suggestion or idea into effect and help create it, whether it be yours or someone else’s, what would it be? Shrimpiie: That is quite a difficult question as there is just so many different great ideas to choose from. I would have to go with really a mass of PvP oriented fixes and tweaks to balance out mechanics and the like. Too many bugs are exploited to gain advantages when they are discovered, instead of being good folks and turning them in on the spot. Slickshot: I’ve personally never delved too much into the realm of PvP so I can’t relate to the frustrations, but I’m sure it’s a big pain in the butt and many people would share your enthusiasm for such fixes. We’ve just entered a new year in life and in Wurm, which is a great reason in itself to rejoice and be thankful. With a new year comes more opportunities to grow, evolve and change. What hopes do you have for the future of this magnificent game and the loyal community behind it, and are you excited for what’s to come? Shrimpiie: I think that if the 2015 year is any indications, then the future of Wurm will be full of changes. I personally am not a fan of change, but change must happen in some areas and that I can deal with. Slickshot: Without change we wouldn’t have come as far as we have in Wurm though, so it’s worth being thankful for, for sure. Thank you so much for your time today Shrimp. It has been an honor. I hope I speak for all of us when I say we look forward to your continued volunteer work and camaraderie for the weeks and months to come. As per tradition, close us out with a favorite quote my friend. Shrimpiie: [17:34:31] <Dream_Master> wait... horses provide hide?

Hey guys! I want to throw in a "noobs" point of view. My wife and I started playing about 3 weeks ago...so please take this with a grain of salt. I have played most of the large title MMO's for years, starting with Ultima Online (circa 1997) thru all of WoW and its expansions, as well as SWTOR. From my POV thus far, this game really reminds me of DAOC/UO as far as some of the dynamics, depth, and the economy. So far, the most challenging aspect has been getting money in the game, by far. Selling of things at the settlement deed does not garner much income and we currently do not have the resources to corner any markets like we did in WoW and on UO...yet. That being said, I have found a great community that have discounted (or just given to me outright) things to help us get started - and I think this is the selling point for me. I pay for our premium access and maybe a 3rd priest alt, which has been enough to cover my in-game expenses, but I think the community has been the biggest selling point for me thus far. On the economy: I like that I am not getting spammed into submission by china gold farmers, and the markets are one of my favorite things...auction houses hurt modern MMO's and took some of the cool factor from my youth. I remember, some of my fondest memories in MMO's were visiting the local blacksmith and pilfering thru vendors in UO as well as going into the housing zone in DAOC and doing the same. The fact that I can *make* weapons an armor has much greater reward to me personally than going in a pub instance run knowing I need to kill X monster for some awesomesauce gear...or grind weeks on end in battlegrounds/arenas for points to purchase them with. Maybe it is just me - but people now are far too accustomed to being handed content in a game. Hell, even vanilla wow was far more challenging that the cluster they have going on right now. I don't disagree that the sub #'s should be higher and they could 'do more' to bolster the numbers, but there seems to be a fine balance also...remove some of the hardmode to attract those looking for instant gratification, or hope that you have a solid enough game to pull in people like me who have some sense of nostalgia from MMO's long past. At any rate... o7

Comparing this to imping isn't really fair. The difference in usefulness between a 70QL item and a 90QL item is negligible, but the difference between 70 CoC and 90 CoC is huge. These spells are insanely useful, so a one-in-one-thousand chance of losing your item is more than worth it. No other profession in the game is capable of giving you what is essentially permanent sleep bonus, or weapons that keep you perma-healed, or tools that cut your work times to virtually nothing. Not to mention that imping to high QL will always require a significant time investment, whereas getting an acceptable enchant can take as little as 20 seconds. If you're upset that you shattered your chisel and have to imp another one to 90+, keep in mind that most non-priest skills involve nothing but monotonously imping items all day. If enchanting were never added to the game, people would be jumping at the chance to add these effects to their gear, even despite the tiny amount of risk involved. But enchants are so ubiquitous now that people have forgotten just how good they have it.

On the crafting recipes window, when it says, Log, or Lump of SuchandSuch would it be possible to add the weight required for making the item? Like Large Bell resonator: Large Anvil + Bronze Lump ( 6.3kg ) *** Edited ment Crafting Recipes Window

I think you're being a little bit unfair. Your comment would have more validity if the ebony black would have among the least voted colors, but if you look at the current results, it's literally the #3 choice if you consider the two pintos identical other than color. So I'll have to disagree about "screwing the rest of the community". Something I'd like to point out: I offered to make some skins for free. I was told I could. I personally offered to set up a poll. I was not asked to, nor was it suggested to me. So at the end of the day, I could have pretty much gone ahead and made any kinds of skins I'd have liked without anyone batting an eye. But I wanted to also consider what you guys would like as well and thus set this poll up. This was not any official poll by the developers, instead merely a fan of the game offering to do some skins for free and just curious to see what others would like. I am not a developer of the game, I owe the community nothing at all. After seeing the most popular choices, I based my decision on three things: the popularity factor, the practicality factor and lastly my own wants as well. The devs were absolutely fine with my choices and there was no negotiations on which colors to do. I then went to work putting all the love and effort I could into modifying the existing skin to accommodate the chosen colors. Wasn't paid by anyone, instead spent a considerable amount of my personal time to offer them for free. So we could either have the scenario of continuing with the same old colors, or else getting 3 new bonus colors as a "gift" from a fan of the game. And I'm told I'm screwing the community over as thanks for that. *shakes head in disappointment*

No matter what is done or not done, there will always be people (like me) who will not play any game on anything but "official" servers run by the company that owns/runs the game. In addition to that, there will always be people (again, like me), who will never use Steam and will therefore never play any game that is Steam-only. (and, no, I have no desire to answer the inevitable questions asking "why not?" or argue Steam pros and/or cons with Steam defenders. My reasons are my own and will not change. Personal choice). And then there will always be those (me again, lol), who have zero interest in a souped up version of Wurm with god mode and the word "free" doesn't make them salivate like the Pavlovian dog. I don't know what the answer is, as to what would bring people back who have run off for what they think are greener pastures. I'm sure for some, it probably is better. But I'm equally sure that there are probably people who's first exposure to Wurm is WU who would prefer WO, (as many of us do), if not for some of the things they would now see as obstacles that they don't experience in WU. Things like the travel times and newby experience, and other stuff people have mentioned in Rolf's thread. Sure, anything added here would be added there, but I'm thinking about those who would otherwise prefer to be playing on the official servers. Those are the folks they should work on trying to entice to Wurm and remove some of the obstacles that might prevent them from enjoying WO. Those who don't care who's running a server will probably never be enticed for any reason anyway. They'll go where it's free and/or super easy and I really don't see anything that can be done about that. A large number of that type are like mayflies (and with about the same attention span), and would probably not stick around under any circumstances anyway.

Rolf doesn't need to do much of anything other than fix bugs, and incorporate the best of the mods. The game is already infinitely better in WU because of the mods, and its only been out what 6 weeks? This is just the beginning.

Maybe try and get it Heritage sited? As was said earlier, its a big piece of deli history. "A Heritage site is any location deemed by the Game Masters to be of significant value to the community. Heritage sites will be posted with GM Signs." from what i understand they can set deeds to be free of upkeep too :-)

Just keep in mind that maps must be surrounded by water and larger or equal to 1024X1024 (otherwise server will crash on startup).
