It would appear CC is running a beta branch that updates both the client and the server. Might be a good time to test your mods on the new code. I already found a few issues in test with some of my server side mods. Testing ago's modloader now. Cheers. NOTES: Patch Notes 2015-12-21 (beta release) December 21 - wurmdev Fixes & Changes Due to extensive refactoring of the code we have decided to release this patch using a beta branch on steam, this is both due to the risk of instability and because mods might need some time to be updated. Both the client and server needs to be running this patch, due to some server-client messages being changed, or the game will probably crash. To switch to the beta branch on steam: Right click the game or server in your library, select properties. Go to the "betas" tab, then select the branch to opt in to. They are named "beta" or "beta_branch" depending on if you are looking on the dedicated server or the games properties. If you can't see them in the list, try clicking the check code button, this sometimes forces the list to update. If that won't work try restarting the steam client. Fixed an issue where it was possible to sit in a chair underwater. Fix: You stand up from your chair when disconnecting. Fix: No longer able to pick up or load an occupied chair. Removed the 'Add to crafting window' from several types of chairs. Keybinds for spells have been added. The names of the binds will be the same as the spell name in most cases (where spaces are replaced with underscores). The bindings can also be set up from the ‘Options’ within the client, in the ‘Keybindings’ tab Chair names should now display properly. You should now be able to build spiral stairs. Fix so that you can rotate unfinished new staircases. The halter rope item was added, it can be used to lead up to 4 animals. Sleep bonus idle timeout profile option was added. Fix for the Dirt spell working on locked containers without permission. Fix for grass not spreading properly in some situations. Change: Moss and steppe can now spread, mycelium will now spread over dirt and not sand. Fix for permissions blocking sitting. Made all chairs plantable. Rams should now spawn on grass and steppe. Added charcoal drop from hell hounds. Added cooked meat drop instead of regular meat drops for hell/lava creatures. FILET key bind added. Fixed an issue where it was possible to filet without a knife. Added SACRIFICE, MEDITATE, LOAD_CARGO and UNLOAD_CARGO binds Made it possible to put hot items into bulk containers. Made washing bowl plantable. Made royal throne takeable. Low Rider and Sludge now actually hit the crotch and with better wording. Sword and axe displays can now be crafter.

I'm sorry, but rather than seeying Wurm turning into a Runescape clone, I'd want bugs fixed. And maybe make actual skills more worthy. Some of them are useless. Some others, after a certain level, don't have why to be raised anymore. And maybe add new skills, for those who have high end accounts and not much left to do. Oh, and fix bugs, please

My idea in single sentence: allow experienced players (50+ skill) to write skill books of their profession which can be equiped into new slot to give characters skillgain bonus over time. What skillgain bonus? As long as you have skill book equipped and premium account, you slowly (every hour or so) gain some skillgain bonus to the single skill, identical to the one when you die (3x bonus). Bonus is gained both while online and offline, every full hour from last bonus. Every skill book decays rapidly with use (depending on papyrusmaking and quality of materials) and have hardcapped skill amount above which you cannot use it to learn anymore (like 3/4 of creator skill, so in theory you can speed up learning up to 75 skill). Some books are harder to read than others, for example blacksmithing ones will give better bonuses than ones dedicated to weaponsmithing. Rare+ books could give faster skillgain and/or slower decay. Learning speed and books decay is a matter of discussion, so I will skip it in this suggestion, but feel free to give some propositions.

If you want to get rid of wrapping then fine, but at least let us wrap up gifts for fellow players for the holiday season!

Whether it be for Christmas or someone's birthday there should always be the joy of gift giving to others!. +1

A patch has been released on the beta branches of Wurm Unlimited and Wurm Unlimited Dedicated Server. http://steamcommunity.com/games/366220/announcements/detail/121960082798116235 This patch may break mods, which is why it was released as a beta branch release. You will need the beta client to play on servers running the beta branch. If you happen to notice issues connecting to a server, or random crashes, double check your branch and check with your server's administrator if it is not self-hosted.

I once had an offer of 25s for my priest's channeling affinity, but I always assumed it to be a joke and never took it seriously. The biggest pain is the logistics of getting the affinity. Keep in mind that the character giving the affinity needs to have 20.25+ fight skill and be in a different kingdom than the person getting it.

I thought it was not my fault once... then the video surveillance hit the internet... and what do you know, it really was my fault. I will keep doing some investigating. I am sure there is something out there that is not my fault! P.S. Chulirac's shoes are ugly!

Interesting info Mith, thank you. I was attempting to auction it off, but i decided to keep it for the future or for as long as i play i think. Someday it might prove very useful to me =)

I would say okay as long as all the things wrapped would lose their wrapping when the Christmas patch was removed or they just as well put it back full time.

Has not happened to me and I play WU daily. It is possible Wurm is not interacting nice with something on all of those computers, I would look for a common connection, like WU + RADEON, WU + Win10, certain teamspeak software, something they all share in common in addition to Wurm. I am pretty sure if WU was bluescreening for the majority of players, this would not be the first post on it. It may not play well with something on certain systems. That still is something needing attention. As Wurm devs cannot look for a Wurm-side solution until they know what the pattern is. I would start making a list of what the BSOD systems all have in common, in addition to WU. I googled Teamspeak BSOD and got a lot of games crashing when TS3 is run with them, so also check for a possible connection there. Check also here for various ways people got their bluescreens to stop (Microsoft Answers). See especially the sections on Driver Verifer towards the end ( Essentially, if there's a 3rd party driver believed to be at issue, enabling Driver Verifier will help flush out the rogue driver if it detects a violation. ) A one-time BSOD is not very useful information, a BSOD that happens everytime or often when a certain combination is run, is much more useful.

Usually blue screen is a hardware / driver issue. I would check laptop temperatures, maybe run memory and hard drive checks, sometimes it is also newer software interacting poorly with older hardware/drivers so rolling back" some software sometimes makes it stop. Here is an article explaining blue screen of death and its causes (which are often VERY hard to pinpoint) "On Windows 7 and newer versions of Windows, blue-screen information is also displayed in the Action Center. If you experience a blue screen, you can open the Action Center and check for solutions. Windows will analyze the BSODs and other types of errors your computer has experienced before giving you any information it has about fixing the problem." Sometimes Action Center mentions the last process involved which is not always the culprit, so it may list a display driver or program that was not really the initial problem. In other words, it does not always give you the "correct" answer of what caused it.

I for one am looking forward to the Cathedral being built. It's a great location with beautiful views and a nice winding tunnel entrance from the lakeside. It's like you are going on a pilgrimage to the top of the mountain to commune with the Gods. Here's a screenshot of one of the recent sermons. We can have these and more to look forward to at the beautiful Estonia Cathedral once it's finished.

This is kind of a handy little tool for a no fuss map maker tool. To the point that you got me to thinking how nice it might be to drop this thing in a folder and have it generate maps at its directory level and create the data bases. So basically a way to quickly make a ready to play map with a single seed entry and push of a button. Sort of dare I say mine crafty way to get a unique map ready to play on. This then made me think about it randomly placing source springs and or source wells and perhaps even various items scattered around. So almost like a randomly generated adventure map. BTW: This is maybe not exactly important but I noticed after this is done generating a map the files are not closed. You have to close the java applet to release the files so that for example you can look at the map with an image viewer.

TY Spellcast for explaining what happened. The occurrences you described is exactly what happened to me, for unknown reason i was logged out then back in and on a lower floor and locked in it, as I had not had permission to pass to that floor yet otherwise. That aside, Know that all I heard as feedback was how much fun people had, how "a mazing' the labyrinth of maze was/is. The amount of work involved is evident and enjoyed for what we saw and experienced was epic. Thank you for putting so much into it. I was quite sure no one felt worse at the event than you but know we all still had fun. I very much look forward to how you will express and conduct this hunt on a reschedule. I can't wait to see it again, this structure.

Actually you don't need to get the dedicated server code from steam just to play solo (or even have a couple friends join you). You can start up a version of the server directly from the client (use Manage Server button when you first start client).

I remember being back on JK home, I was still quite new at the time, few months old maybe...I had met a lot of amazing people, FatherTime, Uzetaab, Wulfgar, Lex, Zerobyte and a whole slew of others (Several had just received their Cm positions). I've played a lot of games in my 20 years, but I'd never been on a game where the staff, paid or not was involved with every day players like me or even staff who played the game. It was so freakin' cool to me to see staff as players too! Lex told me that the GM's and even Head GM Oracle were very involved with players and are players. I was further amazed as most games I had played had GM's...or so they claimed. You never saw or heard from even when reporting someone or something. Played Tibia since I was 19, I still have never seen a GM there. I was on a happy-playing-a-new-game-where-people-are- friendly-to-nublets high and a great deal of coffee with a dash of bipolar, I was immensely HYPER. And Lex told me while we were chatting jokingly that Oracle had tights and a cape and was like a superhero...Zero jokingly confirmed this... Being the hyper idiot I was (and still have days) I pm'ed Oracle and that poor man had to deal with me for over 35 minutes. I wanted to know if he had boxers or briefs with his initial like Superman, did he dry clean his cape, was he friends with Santa or the Easter bunny...Did he know other super hero's also and ON AND ON I went. Complete hyper idiot mode, worse, it wasn't the only time either. When I heard about this thread, I instantly thought about that first pm convo and smiled. No matter how ridiculous I was with that poor man, he was patient, lol'ed a lot and even humored me by playing along a bit. I'm sure he had a hundred other things to do then listen to my foolishness, but he was gracious. I remember another time I had recently returned to the game and while looking for a place to set up, I passed by his deed, he was on and welcomed me back. Asked if I needed anything and ending up offering to imp my armour for me. Been avoiding this thread, didn't want to dwell on such a kind and gracious man leaving the world, not too many left. My sincere condolences to his family and close friends.

Well what to say. Oracle has been a pain in my a** from time to time, but been the best friend you could have a lot of the time too. Some things we agreed on, some things not so much but that's just the way life is and different people have different visions of what they think this or that should be. Oracle stood by the Wurm community for a very long time, and he did the best he could to keep us all from being totally unruly lol. Even though I too have not been spending time in-game of late, I know you will be dearly missed Oracle. R.I.P. ORACLE may greater things be ahead of you!!!

Hello everyone, Many of you will not remember me, but I am a retired GM and previously a long time player. I still keep in contact with some of the friends I made here, and one of them alerted me to this news. Bara was one of the best people I have ever known. He was a better man than me. He was amazingly compassionate and friendly. As well as even handed as a GM. Always willing to help in any capacity he could. He kept us GMs well in check, I can remember being lectured by him once or twice. He knew how to put his foot down with us. But I mostly remember him as a friend. He will be missed. Rest in peace.

Only one word comes to mind when I think about Oracle - Honorable. I will miss your wisdom, sir. However, you live on in so many things that are Wurm.

The man has gone, the legend will remain. Words cannot express the sadness and sorrow. Gone, but not forgotten. Farewell.

This came as a complete shock to me even though I knew he was retired. I worked with Barry for a couple of years, discussing and solving the various issues you encounter as a head GM. He was ever so helpful and dedicated to the game and the community. I can't recall any situation we had together where he wasn't thoughtful, respectful, kind and judicious. It has been far too long since I saw him online and now it will take until we meet in the Happy Hunting Grounds or wherever it will be. Until then, Barry!

It's been a while since I've spoken to Barakus, but he was the first real friend I made in Wurm, a few beta maps before gold. He was one of the kindest players I've met. Oracle is dead. R.I.P.

Please completely re-allow gift wrapping and just make the damage on the package transfer to the item that was wrapped, to prevent "abuse" of storing pelts in a wrapper (but seriously who cares)
