    I beached my cog, walked all over the area of the commander's seat, opened my Cog, walked all over the place and could NOT figure out exactly what spot I had to stand in to be able to repair and improve a bunch of rafts on my boat. Can't repair my rafts if I'm embarked as commander either. I get the same thing with my sailboat. If I'm not standing within about a large barrel's radius of the captains seat of my sailboat, I can't access the hold, but I can if I command the ship.

    They seem to be spanwing on grass tiles near water, mostly concentrated around the WL Altar. I shut the server down and went in with SQLite and deleted a couple dozen humans from the creatures.db. They are all named human so when they chat to each other, they call each other human. It's funny for a while but when you 10 of them in the same spot, it's very local spammy. Martynas5, I didn't find any spindles or boat seats. So they haven't yet reached noob status. LOL

    WO is not dead, I am still here making bricks... .....we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender....oh that's not my quote! WO will still be here and we have seen many new players come to WO after seeing WU. I'd say we will be seeing more. I think we'll be surprised in how many people that Roared "finally I can make wurm the way I want it, will indeed, get bored of their quick skilling and GM powers and come back to the simulation that I know I enjoy.

    After reading this post title I was quite surprised to be able to log onto Wurm and continue to play the game. Then thinking I had misinterpreted the clue here, I went out searching for the huge corpse of this WO. Wo'e onto me as I then spent hours searching my local area, afraid to venture out further for fear of giant Bugs, only to find the usual lurking pests out to make me dead instead. Point of this story, never take at first glance what may be your last due to those that talk fast... Happy Trails =Ayes=

    I don't quite care how its implemented but the sticks on these lamp posts have been bugging me since I first started playing this game a few years back now. Right now I feel like their only purpose seems to be to poke someone in their eyes if they ride past them. Are they not there to hold something? I would love the option of kingdom banners, or blank banners that take on the same color as a painted light source (if possible given you only paint the actual lightsource on lamps and not the metal part at all - if it's not possible, have it match the plain banners?) Who is with me?

    No, dearest Edge, What was speculated were the long term increase in WO subscriptions. Less than a month is not "long term", I'm sorry. Anyone could predict that a lot of people would be excited to play around in Wurm Unlimited with the GM modes. Albeit - I'll give you that I didn't personally fully count in the amount of replayability the extensive modding support gives - it'll be a hard one. But, at the same time, it'll probably lead to a great amount more WU sales, so who am I to complain. Toodles, Jberg (One of the doomsday-idiot-lumped staff members)

    Added sanity checks for Hell Strength. What is this? We have no idea what "sanity" is. Removed hunted status on non-home servers and non-pvp servers. Can this be removed from home servers as well? The majority of home server residents have good morals, and hunted makes it harder for those people to establish justice against the extreme minority of griefers and alts.

    The only problem with blanket statements like "no one likes" is that there's always someone some place who does in fact like. I'd much rather play on a Code Club hosted MMO server than on a privately run one - even if it means paying (which isn't actually true anyway, WU is $30, WO is F2P with a subscription option).

    I always found the name pool for horses a bit limited, so I made this mod that allows to replace or add new names, and now with a new item for custom names. Features: Add new possible names into male, female and generic name pools Completely replace the built-in wurm name pools so that only the custom names will be available A custom item, Naming Tag, craftable with a wood scrap and some cloth string, allows custom names or select one of the available random names from Wurm. The maximum characters via naming tag is 20, which is achieved at 100ql. Requirements: Ago's Mod Loader Instructions: Extract the zip file to your mod folders, configure the JPWM_OffspringNames.properties file to your desire. To change/add names, open the file at "mods/JPWM_OffspringNames/names.txt". Inside you'll find 3 categories, generic, male and female. Below those add one name per line. By default the mod will disable horse names on birth, this is to allow custom names with the naming tag, however if you wish to use the initial version functionality, just change the nameMethod to 1 (or Wurm in GUI) and alternatively disable the naming tag as well. Downloads: Version 1.1.1 (BETA) - Please let me know issues or other things with the naming tag. Version 1.0 Properties file with support for Server Mod GUI Manager

    Looks like WU is intend to be a main source to grab a money from players, WO is left with thousands of new bugs and there is no staff to fix them. So thank you Rolf and keep a good work.

    I figured I'd get this post started. I'm writing a mod that works with Ago's Mod Loader that will give you the ability to configure working portals from within the game. This will be the main thread for this mod when it's released, but for now I'm looking for some ideas and feedback to use during the initial development. What I have so far: A working override for the PortalQuestion code (as in, I can already hijack portal actions and hard-code working portals in the mod as it is). A data encoding scheme that stores all data for the mod in existing fields on the portal itself. TL;DR: Everything is done in-game and stored in your database. All changes will be live, nothing will need a reboot/reset of the server to make work (except for a few advanced things I'll get to later) Current feature list in design: *This may change in development!* Same-server point-to-point travel. (i.e. set an X/Y and go) Cross-server travel (set an X/Y and server ID) Kingdom features (Allow only XX Kingdom, Convert To XX Kingdom) Set specific kingdoms or prompt from a list. Epic-style "separate" player files (if possible in WU) Item limits (old style portals) Individual portal cool downs (still a WIP idea) List of spawn points instead of X/Y List of alliance spawn points (WIP idea) Server Listing (instead of just setting server ID) Advanced features will require the use of portalsmod.properties and a restart of the server to incorporate (though I might see about reloading this file in-game... I have to look into that) Specify a list of villages, spawn points, etc for a specific portal to show (this will be based on the portal's WurmID) These are all of the things I'm going to be working on implementing now that I have the data storage finished. Feel free to request features and I'll see what I can do.

    Its also possible devs plan a holiday update that will make this for both WO & WO (you still have to craft a christmas tree). I dunno I am just making wild unsubstantiated guesses. Hopefully server admins can choose their own settings. The server code is able to "count down" time though I do not know if people who changed server time to fast forward through a part winter, now have their calendar on a different track somehow.     Just to be sure, I tested with keybindings both. Character with all permissions can take with a key bound to 'take', despite not having the option to take in the menu. It still can't push/pull ([02:56:35] You may not move that item right now.)

    Full PvP Ban - 11/10/2015 ENDED - 11/11/2015 Unfortunately we must intervene in all PVP activities on our PVP servers. A situation has arisen with the latest updates that allows enemies to 'Unlock' enemy structures. The developers have found the issue and a fix is under testing. Expected suspension time is less than 24 hours. (but no promises!)     After feeding the cows and chickens, I climbed up the cobbled hill to check on my pregnant mares. At this time of day, they would usually be dozing in pairs or nipping lazily at the grass, their bellies rounded from a full day of grazing . However something was different this time. Each mare stood motionless. Not a single whinny, snort or swish of the tail to greet me. From the distance I could already make out a sickeningly large heap breaking the normally flat silhouette of the hill. Standing next to it, a newborn filly, umbilical cord still hanging from her tiny belly. As I neared, I could see that my prize black mare FleaEbony was lying in a puddle of blood and had apparently died during labor. It would be her last gift of life. The baby horse looked up at me with big wet eyes as her tiny velvet nostrils quivered. Her coat was still slimy and matted, heat evaporating up into the chilly evening air. I wrapped my jacket around the foal and bundled her up in my arms. I would deal with her dead mother later, but for now I had to get this filly cleaned and fed with some warm milk from one of the cows.

    (initially posted in one of the reports of demolishing an entire house when you want to demolish a wall) I have seen reports in CA and general chats, about demolishing the house when you want to demolish the wall you're right clicking. I think right now, the UI is not friendly: you have at right click wall both demolish -> structure, and wall -> destroy. Since what you want is to get rid of the wall, you will look first at the 'demolish' menu, it's understandable. It does warn you, but you expect a warning, so you will just say yes. This is confusing too many people IMO. The available menu commands are not expected the way they are. The simplest suggestion I have, is to merge the two menus in one: - at right click, you should have only "Demolish" menu, which will contain 2 commands: - "demolish wall", and - "demolish building". This way, you have to choose between two options both in front of your eyes, wall and building. It's only a little better, but I think any improvement will help the current confusions. Edit: or remove the demolish building from the right-click menu. It's already in the manage windows.

    I doubt WU will damage WO in the long term. After people buy and play WU, they will one day want to play WO. I know I won't be changing much about my WO gaming. Still keeping my deed and toon.

    There's a few functions or maybe just one that require 5.5 that's why I'm using 5.5, but I'm when I get a chance I'm going to see I can change that function so it doesn't require 5.5. That being said I could probably bump it down to requiring at least 5.3.7.

    I tested this too, with a non-villager owner of a house on deed, and the mayor of the village, with all permissions on the house. The house owner planted an unlocked empty bsb in the house. The character with all permissions could not take it, nor move it. Since it's in a house, and the bsb is unlocked, I expect "pickup planted" to apply for his take action, and it should also let him push/pull.

    Back when parent skills were introduced, skills were still being adding and therefore had no idea how many subskills would be under each parent skill (Note: that new sub skills may still be added in the future). The idea behind parent skills was that they would help increase skillgain speed for subskills when more are added. Also they used to be used to prevent decay when we had that.
