Honestly, can this guy get a harassment warning? He has posted on nearly every recent post of LorraineJ and all negative. He has made multiple threads of intentional griefing and yet he is still allowed to do it? Can this end already?

Like in topic - how about moving "take" right-click menu option to submenu, like "structure > take", but only for structures like BSB's and furniture? This would require minimal amount of work while saving us from accidental taking of objects which are very difficult to place precisely right now.

I still hate the silly drop>on ground(of course I want to drop it on the ground, where else does dropping put it???) sub-menu so a definite no to this idea. -1

Please can we get an in-game payable item (similar to res-stones), which allows a gender change. I can't see it being an issue to implement and I don't understand why this isn't an option? I started playing wurm some years ago and accidentally clicked the female option. As much as it was funny, its now haunting me to near manic-ness! The amount of times the likes of Orangutan etc try and hit on me... I mean...Bashur can get an account he bought renamed... yet a simple "veteran" can't ask for a gender change? Vote yes to gender change... together we can make a difference!

Updated time to 9pm UTC and added a counter (hopefully i did the math right, bit rushed this morning) yeah, ok, did the math wrong this morning, timer corrected... i think. (I forgot to do the counter last night when i was working on things, had like 1 minute to do it this morning on the way out the door to work.) Hunt will have 8 clues. OK, so after i did the Indy hunt I said i would probably do the next one on pristine or release, but i changed my mind. I'm also going to state, for the record, that i am oblivious and completely managed to miss the Impalong going on that weekend on xanadu until pingpong messaged me to see if the hunt was going to interfere with his plans to attend aforementioned impalong. That's the bad news. This hunt may also be a bit shorter than past hunts because real life has been interfering with my Wurm time... so unfair of it but that's just how it goes sometimes. I currently have 8 clues, and will try to add a few more, but we may end up going with 8 depending on how close to saturday we are getting as I get things set up and ready to go. The good news is, this treasure hunt starts in Summerholt. (I really swear, I did not plan it that way, but it works out well) As with the Indy hunt, the clues will NOT be scattered all over the server, but remain relatively close together to cut travel time down some and reduce the amount of false positives for my deranged rambling clues. Once again there are also a couple of clues that tie together one after the other, so the solution to clue A is also your starting reference for clue B. With this hunt, I decided to add a bit of hide and seek to the clues as well. For the most part the clues are fairly straightforward, and will get you to the right area, but you may have to hunt through thick forest, a rambling mine, or something similar to find a signpost, lamp-post or other planted unmovable item. lets see, what else.. Treasure, I'm going to use the same treasure distribution as the indy hunt. All the prizes will be in one place, there will be a group of obvious "set" prizes consisting of a rare, something useful, and a silver coin. There will also be other chests scattered about with lesser prizes and a SINGLE prize that's at least a bit better than the sets. Players that arrive early will have the option to choose one of the obvious prize sets, or take a chance on a lesser prize with the hope of getting the better one. Oh, also, a HUGE thank you to the art team who took a bit of time out of busy schedules to make me some graphics for the popups that contain the hunt info and the clues. I will get a time for the hunt up (with the associated counter) as soon as I can, however unless Enki is available to start it - most likely it will be around 8-9PM for most of europe due to my work schedule that day. Hunt basics: The treasure hunt is a series of clues, as you solve each clue it will lead you to a specific location/item you need to find and do something with/to. (examine is default if the clue does not lead you to believe it needs to be something else) The first clue will be located on a sign in the start town and become available at the start time. It will also be posted in this thread ~ 30 minutes after the hunt begins. solving the first clue from the thread here will allow you to join the hunt in progress at that location. As you solve each clue, you will be given the next clue. You can examine the sign in the start town -OR- return to the location of the previous clue for a reminder of your current clue. In this hunt the clues were created in a specific order in some places, so the next clue may contain a reference based on where you solve the current clue. Just something to keep in mind as you travel. Speaking of travel, it will be required, tho you will not need a boat. Clues are generally wurm centered, however some will have references to things outside of the game. As a general rule, the community maps, current map dumps (located here), google, possibly wikipedia or some other online encyclopedia, and any random dictionary website should be all you need to solve them. While everyone is welcome to participate, you should be aware that monsters abound in the wilds, and many of the clues are in remote locations so there is a lot of potential danger on the hunt. Newer players are advised to travel with an experienced player or work in a team to lure mobs away. Death IS a possibility, tho you will not be required by the hunt to fight a combat to solve any clues mobs spawn constantly and can (and often do) end up on the path to clues. Cooperation is permitted, and even encouraged, as these are supposed to be fun events. There is supposed to be entertainment in the journey, not just in the reward at the end. Players will never have to force entry to any part of the hunt, bashing down walls or fences will never be required to reach a clue. You are also not permitted to build fences or obstacles to hinder other players. Choosing to do so will result in penalties up to and including game bans.

This idea stems from all the "alts" that are popular to leave on while afk for sleeping or working in order to see who is doing what in the area. Stone or wood they would be place on deed or in house(which I would prefer..to hide) from others knowing you had one. The idea is to log area events of what people are doing in and around your house/deed area. Sure you may not catch a griefer but still would be nice to know Who is doing it or who keeps popping up in your area. Two ideas stem from this..To log who comes into local and/or who is performing actions in the area. I propose buying them off the Traders for a one time cost of 2 silver, then a 1 Iron per tile monthly upkeep(so Rolf gets it made) or make it craftable free. Have the option for it to log both people and actions in the area for 1iron each choice even. Make it affordable so initial cost every newb wont want to pay but make it cheap to maximize area for more experienced players. The idea behind this is because there seems to be a SHARP rise of griefing going on. NOT that this would fix it..but if the offenders are that bold..LET THEM BE KNOWN with their actions so we know who they are..instead of hiding what they do. Sentinel Post ( 2 silver off trader / Craftable? ) Logs people in area: paid for, ( logging who comes into area and/or perform actions ) Cost: 1 iron per choice / per tile so a 10*10= 100 tiles or 1 copper/mo unless you want to also log people who come into area as well then mo. cost would be 2 copper/tile. ( if needed have a max area available to keep server resources down) Rolf wins initial and monthly cost we get to see more without having to keep people logged on and clutter the system as well as worrying about server downtimes then relogging all the alts back in. Just an idea...

I would actually love to have the option to buy or rent a private server to play Wurm on. It gets a huge +1 from me, even though I suspect this idea is never going to be implemented either way (sadly, for those of us that would love this). I see players trying to hog land to get it to themselves all the time, so I'm actually surprised that people seem to be against this idea. For every player that complains about Wurm feeling like a ghost town, there's another player trying their best to play as a hermit, or buying an enormous deed with a huge perimeter to keep neighbors as far away as possible, or deeding on an island/mountain/mob-filled place just to get more space for themselves. People are different; some people love the social aspect and want the game full of people and neighbors, while other people like the lonely hermit survival experience. I think that a lot of people who play Wurm don't play it because it's an MMO, they play it despite it being an MMO, because they love everything else about the game. And there's nothing "wrong" or "right" about that, it just comes down to personal preference, and sometimes, it even just comes down to the mood one is in. Sometimes people don't feel like being social and just want to be left by themselves for a while. To me, more options is always a good thing. The people who prefer to live as hermits find their own ways of doing it, so I doubt the already existing servers would feel any more lonely if those hermits relocated to private servers, because most people don't come in contact with those hermit players either way. So personally, I don't see why not. If players would still pay premium for the character so Rolf and the devs would still get the same income, and the players would pay a certain price for the server (either buying or renting) and running it off their own computer, I really don't see the harm.

When I awoke here, the dim lights in the forest were shining in the trees. There was a small building and a person standing up the road. It was night and from what I could see there were others. A few neat roads lead away from where I remember waking and knew that the roads lead to the world before me. This day I still can’t remember if it was a man or a woman standing there, the darkness of the night clouds my perception. I do remember however that they gave me a bit of advice on some iron that had been discovered in a cave not far away. This moment would start the Wurm life and accolades of Zalifear. GOLDEN VALLEY It was late 2009 and I had been looking for a great game to play besides Runescape. When I first found Wurm it was very rough around the edges and a huge mystery as to what was really waiting behind the massive landscapes Wurm Provides us. My girlfriend at the time which some know as my wife was playing along side me for years miss foreverskyz. Wonderful lady and great companion of mine for along time. As Wurm goes there was no lack of mistakes. We had tried to fuel a forge with rock shards got our iron twenty coins and been chased by a wolf in the 1st hour. Then a guide named Nefertiti If I recall correct showed us to a small spot under glitter dale mountain. Our first shack was lopsided and the fence though fresh appeared to be falling down around us. There was a small place that was abandoned in a field close by. The area itself was just down the south slope of glitterdale mountain where the starting area was. The weeks past and as all good Wurmians do we decided to expand. Our skills now getting better we crafted more and made preparation to make a move and a bigger place. We scouted parts of the abandoned spot and found a nice flat area that was already in use a time or two before us. We met Hordern (arch GM now) shortly after this point. I had gotten hurt and gave my iron 20 coin away for a healing cover. That day a venerable horse had gotten attached to our cart and I tried to fight it off. Little did I know venerable horses were tough as a dragon at that point. So the story went where I cried help because a phantom horse bit me. The new place was coming along well, we had all our things moved, the house a two by two was built and we had a decent back yard, except a random forge that was there driving my OCD crazy. My 1st meeting with GM Enki was on a day like any other and he was there for some reason. I asked him about removing the forge and he said he was not allowed and it had to rust naturally. So life went on and I started hunting soon after that. My first hunting trip was with Hordern who lived not far away to the east I believe. Till this day I can swear that was the biggest mountain in Wurm. Well it was not but, at that time the mole hill in compare was huge in epic size to me. He had taken me around the mountain tooting an axe and I was in chain I think, this is foggy here. It got dark and we camped, I still can’t remember what happen but there was a few laughs and a lot of wine. Maybe that was a dream. In any case we returned with meat and ate for awhile off the gathering we did. Hordern was busy again after that and was not seen much. He came on one day and asked if Skyz and I would care for his farm for a bit. Little did I know then he was wrestling sharks or something. By the time he had return I had messed up a few fields and dug in an area I couldn’t drop dirt back. My farming remains 20 till this day, because I am no farmer! Besides messing up a future Arch Gms farm and dying a few times, I had started an epic project. Which at that time consisted of about 30 tall stone walls, if you know anything about golden valley then you know this wasn’t a small deal. I had a vision that month, also I learned to flatten a tile and that you could dig! It was over after I L2dig! I flatten a spot and made a mini paradise inside stone walls, it had 2 palisade gates and the front entrance pointing toward glitterdale had a small area lined with statues like 3 tiles when you entered. I had set up an area outside to guide new players thru with signs. It was beyond GV level of play. Hordern said my ambitions were much to great for this place and that I should go to independence. We stayed for some time there and worked on skills. Another regular day was upon us and Enki was there again I don’t know what for again, I can’t recall. So I told him my idea and how it would work with the signs and all leading players thru and showing them how to chop the trees. Was about 3-4 months maybe after I had shared my idea that GV closed and he made his nice tutorial on Golden valley. I still to this day think I inspired him to make the very first tutorial. Having a long history of breaking chat rules and I fought with Zephyr from day one. He was the local celebrity CA at the time, he had a colossus and an island on the lake near glitterdale. There was farmer bob’s place at the top of the hill and Xsamurai was running around somewhere. There was jamiefontain that always was chopping down forests and enclosing large areas she did nothing with. Bottles lived at catfish oasis and Elite that came by and gave me my 1st wemp seed, he had a mega farm in the likes of GV size back then. Anyone else I missed here I am sorry. Also the name of the person I gave Grand Court castle away too, I can’t recall the name. I had given the idea and castle away to the next generation of Wurm players. Legend has it that Grand Court was handed down several times and lasted close to the servers end. Take in mind nothing was over 20ql and needed repairing often there. So in GV terms lasting that long after I was gone is amazing. There are many adventures I could share here but, that would make this story a lot longer. My ideas were huge and I needed room to grow. I had decided that we would go to freedom and find new ground to build upon. We entered the portal to Freedom in Oct 2009 I believe. We had packed what we needed for setting off to the mother land. “What are you doing†I was meditating the day we was to leave, I wanted 20 before we left for premium land, Skyz was yelling at me for not helping pack the rest of the stuff. So we went. Following this part of my Wurm history up, just would like to say that GV was the best starting experience anyone could have I think. It was unguided and free for all. Yes it was a mess but, out of the mess there was a common and basic law to it, that when you made something nice in the middle of rotting decayed other places, it made you feel very proud to have a thriving place. Also I will mention Hordern multi colored variegated villa. It stuck out and he was raising it to like 20 dirt high or something back then. Think he may have all 20 skills on Golden Valley server now too. FREEDOM! Coming out in samling next to that huge mountain is a great experience, one that only some will ever get. That’s Wurm right there, no-one or very few can play a piece of time and have totally different experience or idea of a moment. Captured then changed by the land reclaiming it or seeing things before they change and will never be the same again, same as real life. We made are way past Samling and the first place we happen along was as fate would have today as a server, yes you guessed it XANADU! The original owned by Gumbo and passed by many Fellow GV players still with us today. This is well remembered here, there was a coffin outside with a sign reading “Free meals†So hungry and tired from the road, we grabbed a few. Walking into his place was magical, there were champion unicorns and all dorts of critters running around. The place was neat and proper. There was a few merchants out in the main walkway, I believe I bought a pendulum that day. We chatted for a bit and Gumbo wished us luck in finding decent ground. Not far up the road there was a bear. Brave as I was, ready to fight this bear fresh out of GV wearing chain, Skyz took one look and ran the other way convinced we couldn’t take it. She was always a wreck, having a shaky hand while fighting the harder stuff. So we detoured around and found road again. Passing a lot of places that looked ok to build and about an hour walk, we happen upon a row boat. This will be a time I took something without asking, the first being in GV when, bottles and I ran down the road after roping a neighbors cow and him running after us yelling “thieves!†The row boat was cool and afford us a look around the small lake there. By this time my conscious was eating at me and we return the boat to the place we found it at around 16y 35x on the old inde map made by Darkmalice. After a while Berris came into local and we chatted to him for a bit. Now getting dark and we stop not far from where Berris had said hello. Making a fire and taking a small break we camped till day light. When the light came I saw a beautiful water front spot and on the map it was called “cheese cake fjord†at the time. This was it the spot I would start the legacy of deed building I’m known for today. Now it was time to work. Lock Heaven was the first deed we owned, it was a size 10 and cost one gold to start back then. Dropping some money in for coin, we gathered up some tools from local and “long distance†sellers (the quote has a meaning no details) I do wish I had pictures of this place but my old computer had these photos on and the old forum is gone. My 1st neighbor now and then top notch Wurm player Sandyar and his lovely assistant Emas. Many stories can be told about Lock Haven but the one that sticks out most was a fellow that happen past and liked it so much he offered me a two gold for it before even completing it all. It was a nice place on the water and was tall wall enclosed town with a café and stable design not unlike the one at Puzzle plaza today on Deliverance server. Although back then the options were few and arch walls weren’t quite out. One thing I admire, the staff watch us and how we use things and make accordingly. I had a lot of good times there but wanted yet even more room. So I sold the place and we moved south. We went way down south to Tranquility bay. We started a place called Sky View Terrace and was neighbors with surtur and evil visionSurtur gave his blessing and we started the terrace. If you are reading this and don’t know Independence server has a rich and deep dirt layer. So we were building in a hilly area and terrace was best to capture this place. Soon after building all the basics again we grew burned out and left for around 5-6 months. On return, Wurm was looking better and was a few nice updates. Vision came again what the possibilities of the game was, I quickly went back to work. The old deed was gone now and this time I would launch the Deed that put me into the Deed charts. Exile’s gate was 8875 tiles of Glory. It was a vision of a grand city where players flowed in and out bustling around tinker with this and that. The start of an Empire city which fell to dreams of dragons. This Link will show you what Exile’s gate was in its prime. http://lonelie.wix.com/exilesgate/exilesgate#!__exilesgate The stories from this time are amazing, at peak there was 20 players in Exile’s gate which a few now are very well rounded super players. Raybarg, claytonic, zalu,Galilmar and many more I can name, these are a few memorable ones though. Evilvision that lived in the tundra and surtur, which I had a falling out over “ I build to fast†and he thought I was competing, another long story. His place boondocks was amazing and still is till this day I do believe. Last I heard he was lost with Baldeagal somewhere on chaos. FREEDOM! So Exile’s Gate was a hit and 2-3 other places rose up in that coming year, Lions gate was one I remember. At this point was loud and screaming TROLL TEETH \/\/\/\/\/\/\/ And TROLL IN THE DUNGEON daily in kingdom chat. I was muted more times than anyone in game to date I believe. Chat rules changed and I was at the front of quite a few of them changes, having talked with oracle several times about the way CA Picked at every little things back then. I was and always will be the loud mouth American that took Wurm by storm. A few Key moments in this time period. Metaldragon’s Black dragon kill on top of dragon fang mountain. The bad lags of inde where you would get finishing lag for 5 mins at a time sometimes. The journey to Mouse hole were everyone left flowers and paid toward A woman that had passed Away in real, a fellow Wurmian RIP, the actions of the players here still amaze me. Markesilvers was just a player but, a fond memory of this player still exists with me today, cheers Mark if you ever read this. Also the TROLL IN THE DUNGEON had got me in trouble a few times and muted then There was the Trolls. A mound popped up in the neat cave we had built next to the smithy in the main part of town. Thats what I got for yelling that, they were there and only was to get them out was to raid the dungeon ever few days. It was so over run at points we had to shaker orb the tunnel and lock them in. Champs would spawn in town because they couldn’t in cave, so the villagers had a surprise every once in a while. Exile’s gate was a great Experience and build up for me. There are many more names and adventures I could share, perhaps another time. DELIVERENCE! The news was hot and Rolf would begin to release the Second island of what we now call the Freedom cluster. I was at EG improving leather goods at the highest point of Exile’s Gate when I got the PM. Metaldragon said are you going to Deliverance and I said no I hadn’t planned on it why. He said he would seek a dragon that laid golden eggs… I was very interested in this concept, yet Skyz was to thrilled (bad nerves dragons and all) So MD set a fire under me that still burns today. I was to go to deli and find this golden goose and capture it as my own. We traveled about 10 hours that day and we spotted it. There She was beautiful as any picture. Skyz was a little jealous. Went thru a few deeds and a few changes to the coding via Complaints about penning which is still an on going story. I named her Nyth Othim Malae and it means Eyes/Darkness/lair . We nick named her Charcoal because Skyz said my name was silly and to long. As she said about my E-peen many times. I lost about 5 points in digging at 97 From dying to the dragon, trying to put her in a cage. I applied techniques from MD who had the white pinned down only to lose it to Xallo and his company, which has slain a many dragons in their day. It was shared though as I’m told. I went thru a few plans till the right one. I’d like to thank MD and Drago for encouraging me to stay with it and don’t give up. They have been friends and confidents many times and will never forget their kindness. She is the all mother and laid the 1st dragon egg on freedom cluster. I was blessed with many fine drake products and the Christmas that she Laid her golden eggs was one like no other. One of the best Christmas Impalongs in Wurm history was that year as well. Deal or no Deal was there that year and was 1st introduce By Gumbo himself, I had a drake hide raffle and the whole event was a huge success. Mother Willow the leader and organizer of this Event was the most kind host. These are the good times that our close and not gotten again easily, When it comes to more than just the game but, a genuine time spent with friends and having a good time. The loot was Flowing into the next year, having hide and having given a set to ever fighter, still maybe the only person to have the privilege to give out every single fighter which was 25+ back then a set of armour has been a joy of mine for along time and has afforded me some of the best friends a Wurmian could have. The gatherings we had will be missed for along time. Also thanks to Kiah, hordern, pashka, kadore, Gumbo, MD, Drago and anyone else I missed. So I needed a new objective. Before long Epic was coming out and the portal was so easy I jumped thru. 2 Weeks of EPIC! I wont tell this story but we made a cool song! >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YTrBwUZ0U8 I left fast to run away from the only name I’ll mention here and that Violetann *cringes* Highlight of Epic, 1st time seeing Rolf ingame Not so Epic! After fighting with these “Old MR†players I return to Deli and looked at the state of affairs on my home server and seen I had opened the door to Some deviant players and quickly had to dispatch them. I started on what would become Deliverance servers Main market. I placed all my efforts to Sack the DMP market that Player Rudie had made as a “community†project which was a maze/labyrinth/mess of stalls facing every different directions and conveniently a straight road right to his merchants. Front row. Him having the deed to a public market was then again not the best idea. I decide to make a market that would topple the plans of this Player. Within 2 months of this plan I had, almost every merchant on the server at my market. Over the course of this time I would be known to give away drake sets to any lucky Wurmians that could guess the number I was hold behind the screen, which always went over well with the CA. Puzzle Plaza Labyrinth designed by fearan was 20x20 and had 3 different mazes in it. It was to be the lead attraction for and event deed that only ever was a great market. This market was a dream that never came to be and was the biggest vision and driving force of most market today. I had built what is now sought after by many. It was more than a market and in this time I would meet another set of great players and get to know Wulfgar the Mighty. Lizabeth, Gripyth, faeran to name a few other, that helped put this together. I had started a maze at Lock haven many years ago I had mentioned and never got to finish. Gripyth and fearan had made a place called Puzzles Labyrinth: ;https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHozZRh8mtI After watching there video I gave them a visit and I completed this now Historical place. The challenge was tough and These brothers were a key point to my vision. I told them the plan and they followed me till the end. I knighted them In to the Order of the Black rose and they still should know that they will be called upon again. In these days we had laughs and they grew, the team at Puzzle plaza was top notch and the Plaza flourished. At one time we had 28 deeds and 76 players in the Puzzle Plaza Alliance. A few mention able, Troll king slaying and the Deliverance Desert seen in the picture above, which was 16 thousand tiles when complete maybe more I can’t remember, its massive though. I was fading fast and so was my marriage at this time. I had to leave Wurm for a bit, almost two years. The memory of Zalifear would fade and so would the legacy I left as the Alliance did not hold without the axel. Fearan and gripyth went on to do many great things and build a town that’s highlighted in the Wurm trailer, make their very own trailer and Special episodes of Saturday Night Factional Fight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYqs8ofbL_U There is so much more to this part that it would take me a long time to write down and explain. I will spare you the suspense and get on with the story. THE RETURN OF ZALIFEAR! This part is short and sweet, the server was not the same. Alliance was gone, I have chores to do, the plaza was stagnating, with sealed lips as to ware it was. More market had sprung up and to my dismay, my name had been beaten on. Not a surprise I am still hated by many and I’m not afraid to say I have a few enemies. I would in these days clean up the market, meet up with some old friends and raise hell to let all know that Zalifear the one and only was back. Shout out to: Nyteshade, quasiwud, neem, galimar, webbler , rex and all of the gang. These days would define where I was heading now in game. Sorry to say but, deli was a darker place than what I had left it. CA guaranteeing 100% items sales “because†they are a CA calling names for said reason, rumors about me and other such non-sense. There was a black cloud and in this time I was, Wiz killed by 2 Gms,, killed 4 unique, commandeered a kyclopse kill, looked into going to wild, reformed an alliance that fell apart fast. I’ll have to mention spyte, as well, Time is Fleeting my friend. Built 2 obelisks in front of the plaza, then Run off to Xanadu leaving Puzzle Plaza to the Worthy Neemer of World wide prestige. I did not sell the public market it was given to another Proud deliverance player free. For 90+ ql tools on Deli see Quasiwud. Xanadu came about and I was ripped away from Deli and decided it was time to go. I packed lock stock and barrel to Xanadu and there I remain, Forging the only way I now how From the Bottom to the top using My imagination and a whole lot of faith. FREEDOM! THE SHRINE OF MAGRANON! THE NEW AGE OF ZALIFEAR The shrine came about after moving near the 1st persons place I stop at to eat on inde. I was intrigued at the possibility of riding a dragon and have a skilled Magranon follower working on that task at this very moment. With out further ado: The moon Valrei appears in the skylight every few wurm months. This is my story and There are many adventure, I hope you enjoyed this Wurm in a lifetime story of my travels some of my trials and a lot of my joy having Shared this wonderful game with many wonderful people and a few knuckle heads along the way. Thanks again and Keep playing… In memory of Foreverskyz without whom I would never have played this game. Thank you most of all to the Makers of this game all who have helped and made such a game that can come so close to your heart. Code club masterpiece Wurm Online. Thanks again everyone Dontae

As of lately on PvE servers there has been plenty of occations when some player has just come to destroy and steal everything he can. Bashing into horse pens killing everything in them, making shacks around deeds to prevent them from expanding etc. Now i remember the better times even a bit over a year ago when this wasn't so usual. So how about devs or even someone fix the rules or give more power to GM's handle things according to their own sense of justice. This has not happened to me thankfully but i've seen plenty of paying players whom this has happened to. And its pushing not only them but any newcomer who see the same stuff happening away from wurm. Something has to be done to the PvE rules and fast before this whole thing spirals out of control. Since when did PvE mean you can grief people all you want ruining the game for everyone?

When I "Examine" large anvils, carts, all the items that could be used while on-ground, I get a nice line indicating its QL & DMG. Same should be for any items laying in ground. Sometimes I can't pick up an item which I'd want to know info about.

I don't know how it really works either. But this is what was explained to me by someone in my alliance on Pristine many moons ago. You get a rarity window. How long the rarity window is depends on your deed rarity window(might or might not really work). If you start(I think it's start, for all we know if could be finish) a action during this rarity window you get a rarity roll.(also some kind of hocus pocus about creating vs imping because the action timer is shorter.) You have a 50% chance to have a rarity window during one hour(Or so we think). If you get a rare roll during your rarity window you then have to succeeded in the action if you do. You can then roll again to see if the successive action results in a rare.(On the resources gathering side it seems nearly a guaranty that if you get the rare roll, you get a rare resource.) Once your rare roll has happened your rarity window restarts. Which is why you can get multiple rare rolls. As soon as you have one your timer starts again. (Then of course we the whole different tiger of a different strip which comes with using rare to create or attached to items.) Now how much of this is true? I don't know. But off all the explanations I've heard over the many months I've played Wurm this one always seemed to make sense to me. Now I do know that I "feel" like I get more rare rock shards when using a faster pick. But then again that means I plow through tiles faster so I'm also processing more actions. But unless a dev/code club fills us in all we have are our theories. With out knowing how it works, it's hard to know if something is bugged

Not sure how feasible this would be but maybe you can add in a dig_down option to things like clay, peat. moss..etc that way you can either modify the tile or just dig for resources.

Sell stuff before you go, if you feel you have to. I'm sorry to see it, but I understand it. A friend and her boyfriend are quitting now too because of the threatening thread that is not moderated. So her alts, his alts, their deeds including a trader deed - no more. I disbanded 7 deeds and sold one, and I will probably disband at least one more, maybe three. I'm not going to keep bunches of premium alts going anymore either, and not going to buy as many things as I used to buy. People are speaking out because they don't want to quit. But it's getting hard to justify the investment.

OK, let's get real on this... NOTHING In Game belongs to us by the rules of the game and by the agreements we made with CodeClub when we accepted the Terms of Service. CC owns our characters, our deeds, or virtual items, even as I understand it our accounts....Everything. All we have that we can call "ours" is permission to access the account with our name on it. Getting cranky about someone griefing deeds or animals or items ingame is ridiculous because Rolf owns them all. We don't, no matter how much money we spend on the game. Right now Players can grief anyone they want to on Freedom Isles because frankly NOTHING belongs to us. The GMs can take as long as they want to and honestly they don't have to do anything at all. If I can figure this out so too can the griefers. We don't own our deeds, nor the land outside of them, so any "justification" for a rule about griefing Land based on "ownership" is pointless and misleading. Whether an act is griefing or not should not be based on Deeds or perimeters, it should be based upon whether the action was detrimental to other Players in the game, regardless of whether or not a Player owns a deed. A much more broad based system of judgement is the correct one for this particular game in my opinion. Example: A new Player leaves the starter town and goes out searching for a place to build a one tile shack so they have somewhere to stash a small cart (can't make a large one yet, not enough skill) and have a base of operations until they are certain that where the one tile shack is .. is definently the place they want to plant their new deed. Awesome, new Player in Wurm... but then a Player rides up wearing green leather armor and while the new Player is finishing his house the experienced Player goes into the campfire and takes the cooked meat the new Player needs for food (venturing out and finding a place and cutting trees/sawing logs used up the 24 hour buffs). Right now under current rules is this griefing? No, it is not because current rules are based around deed and item ownership and whether an offense occurred based upon that (which is just an illusion of ownership). Since the House wasn't vandalized/obstructed/blocked and since there was no Deed planted the Rules currently allow this. Would this be griefing if based upon how the actions of Players affect OTHER Player(s) as a character/Player? Yes it would. There is no justification for a Player in green dragon armor taking someone's lunch of cooked meats, it would decrease their nutrition !! however it would deprive a new Player of nutrition, and that would be a clear act of griefing to almost anyone. I wonder how many new Players we lost because the Rules about griefing were based incorrectly on virtual item or land ownership, when it should have been based on affect(s) to Player(s)? I wonder how long before Rolf and Devs figure out the rules don't work and never will work without issues? The Rules need to be based on how actions of Players affect other Players themselves, regardless of virtual land/item ownership. Even when a Deed is griefed it's not the Deed that finds it wrong, it's the Player that has been wronged.

Real *World* Advice: Learn how to get along with and respect other people in your daily life. This will serve you well both there and within the game. After you develop this maturity you will then need little guidance of any rules within this game, as they will just seem the natural way for you to react in dealing with other players. Online games do not transform anyone's true character, they only place less restraints upon it being revealed. Happy Trails =Ayes=

This is obviously a personal opinion, but: Even with the spread of players across different game servers, Wurm is an MMO; private servers simply don't fit in with the "spirit of the game" and take away from the player community's authenticity.

Real advice: 1. Talk to the people in the area where you would like to deed, if there are any. How they react to your presence will tell you a lot about your neighbors. Some will be afk with other stuff, some will be friendly, some with be super-friendly, and some will be hostile. Talking first will help you avoid drama with grumpy people, and if the people are friendly, they might be able to help you find a good spot to deed...and they might even hook you up with tools, carts, and/or raw materials. Also, be polite and friendly in your interactions in local chat. These people might be your future neighbors, so it's best to keep relations copacetic. 2. Deed the land you want to keep. Sure, it costs real-world money, but it's better to spend a little to keep your nice little spot than to have someone deed up the land just short of your 1x1 shack, mow down the trees, and turn it into the Land of the Technicolor Colossi. 3. Lock everything you possibly can, and keep the keys in your inventory (satchels within backpacks are great for this). If your cart/wagon/other lockable thing isn't owned by you, get the ownership transferred to you or craft/buy your own and lock it. 4. Lock the locks. (Physically impossible, really, but keeping stuff locked up is that important.) 5. Be careful who has permissions on your deeds/buildings/other locked stuff. Most people in Wurm are pretty cool, but there are occasional bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling looking for opportunities to skirt the rules for the lulz. Get to know people before you trust them not to pilfer your hard-earned goods, and LOCK YOUR STUFF.

I like the second option better, and when Xanadu was opened it was suggested that people who wanted more people, all agree to go there. I stayed on Indy because I personally LOVE the way it is now, with fewer people and less combative competition for space. I am glad Xanadu opened because I personally love the way Indy is now. People who want "one server for everyone" should just all move to Xanadu, because if Rolf closed down all the other servers to force us all there, a lot of us would leave rather than be forced matched into a more crowded area. I have always lived in remote areas (log house in oregon with only bears as neighbors, before that an island in alaska) and some of us do not want the "urban lifestyle," ingame or out, and especially not in a game promotes one of its features as being a wilderness survival game.

I've been a Vynora battery for about a year and a half. About 2 weeks before Nahjo ascended, I decided that I was going to persue ropemaking to assist our village priest. To do so (quickly) required de-priesting, because a priest cannot improve items without losing faith. Having found out the hard way that priests get half the skill gain (not just characteristics folks!) that non-priests do, my experience doubled per tic the second I was "no longer accepted by Vynora" as a priest (fell below 30 faith). It was like I had just turned on sleep bonus, except it had been on for the past several hours, dwindling at .05 faith at a time. 20 actions per 1 faith, 100 faith... it took me a couple days. Anyway, I made a *ton* of strings of cloth, created 100 net traps and began improving them. I gained 40 ropemaking skill (having started at 20 and ending at 60) in ONE DAY. I was amazed. From 60-90 took me about 3 weeks of relentless grinding, sleep powders and sacrificing rares. My barrel of c102 water was a huge help, along with my CoC scissors and needle. I didn't enchant the string of cloth, because combined cloth uses 5x the amount of string than improving with single pieces of string. The string has to be higher QL than the item you are trying to improve, so it's better not to waste so much high QL string by combining it, even for X% more skillgain. After 70 skill, i was getting 1.0 to 1.5 skill per hour, depending on the tool. I would always turn off sleep bonus when I was using string to imp all the traps. Once the entire stack required water/scissors/needle to improve, I would check my nutrition and turn sleep bonus on again. As I went from 85 to 90, I was only getting 0.3 to 0.5 skill per hour. The day came, I hit 90 RM, I priested again (Vynora) and proceeded to start making rope while praying. I didn't notice much of a difference in my rope output than that of my Vynora priest in the village, who has 80 ropemaking. We were both getting 35-38 average QL. Today, I received my CoD return from my friendly neighborhood Fine Carpenter (thanks Chiqa ). With my rare ropetool now 90 QL, I filled my wagon with rafts full of wemp fibre, combined it into clumps of 64 and went to town making rope. I would keep the cordage ropes in my inventory until I had filled my inventory (80 ropes) and then placed them in a raft to be QL sorted later. I wrote down the damage on the ropetool after each "handful", and the average QL (stack QL) of the ropes. My findings were that there was a direct relation to damage and descending cordage rope QL. If my rope tool had 10 damage, the average quality of the cordage rope was reduced by 10%, but of course the QL would vary by +/-2 Here's the totals on how many of what QL cordage rope I made. I used 96.2 QL wemp, a 90 QL rope tool (Starting at zero damage and ending at 16.2 damage), and I started with 90.03 rope making, ending with 90.20 <30 QL- 677 Ropes (35%) 30 QL- 344 Ropes (18%) 40 QL- 287 Ropes (15%) 50 QL- 245 Ropes (12%) 60 QL- 196 Ropes (10%) 70 QL- 115 Ropes (6%) 80 QL- 44 Ropes (2%) 90 QL- 29 Ropes (1.5) Total Ropes made: 1937 (I used 2600 wemp fibre). I started with a 92% chance to make cordage rope, ended with 84% (due to damage on the tool). I have a good example of how GMs interprete the rules. Griefer started to build an enclosure around someones place(not recently tho, back when enclosures were still a no-go), so the surroundings could be ruined, but to protect the mess with enclosure rules.. The owner of the place came online and saw the building in action, he made a building in the middle of that half-built enclosure, to block it being built/finished as rules don't(didn't) allow to close access to someones building. Of course the griefer called GM and GM ordered... not to stop griefing, but ordered to disband that building, which was built to prevent the actions of the griefer.. basically to allow the griefer to continue. That's how GMs take action and that much about self-policing.

There's such a huge disconnect between some of the complaints here and the reality I've seen in game. I've seen players forced to stop grinding woodcutting multiple times because they were too close to other players deeds (AKA in their local). Others have been prohibited from making roads too close to deeds when the deed holder didn't want a road nearby. Each time they've been told that while it wasn't against the rules, if our players didn't live nearby and local players didn't welcome the changes to their area then the actions were considered griefing. Is there such a wide gap between what individual GMs will interpret as griefing or is there a lot more backstory on some of the examples posted that we are missing out on here?

In this game you have to set a long term project for yourself. It could be becoming a crafter to make high ql tools or weapons that are sought after by others and would be willing to part with some coin for them. Or it could be sculpting the land and constructing a new village or town that will have an impact on your local area for neighbours and travellers alike. You can become a shipbuilder, a steel maker, a brick, mortar and other bulk goods tradesman. You can have an impact on the player driven economy, both in your local neighbourhood or the global player base. You can create a landmark that will become known to present and future players such as a highway, a colossus, a boat canal, a labyrinth for all to come enjoy. You can become a priest and experience any and all of the magic in the game. You could construct and run a farm and raise animals, harvesting the natural environment for the plentiful resources it provides. You could decorate your deed or a building using the countless decorative items provided by the devs. You could join a Pvp server or just visit on the weekend to experience what it is like. There is plenty more out there to do. I have tried to list all of the main things but as others have said...if you don't find all this as exciting, riveting, creative, deep and, most importantly, fun as the rest of us do, then it is possible the game just isn't for you. In the years I have been in love with this game, I have come to realize the truth: this game is not for most people. Very specific types of people are drawn to this game. This is what makes the vast majority of players are genuinely nice and helpful, more so than any other mmo I have tried. I hope you stick it out and find for yourself the reason for you to keep playing Wurm.

like other said, because the staff keeps getting worse and worse people, because il probably get a warning for saying that, because now the wiki that was finally getting better its been brought back into the wiki bullies system, now officially endorsed, because for some reason people its not longer willing to just accept getting griefied and banned for it on pve if they try to stop the grievers. because while a few thing that were considered features and liked by everybody for years are considered bugs and "fixed",we still need to deal with tons of teleporting bugs and the brand new invisibilty problems.
