Never been black light, never associated with BL on Epic, there is no connection there at all. Seems silly that background is ignored in favour of RNG. Anyone wanting to convert fron my own kingdom has to drop alignment to -1 to convert or travel to the Black light. Seems a poor mechanic to force on people after they have supported and helped through countless scenarios and missions. Please change and in future align to the player.

You haven't been around long if you believ ethat Rol and Co always know whether something is good for the game (or it's finances) or not. Let me tell you a story. Once upon a time there where three servers, Wild (now called Chaos), JKH (the JK home server, 100% PvE) and MRH (the MR home server, also 100% PvE). Then Rolf decided to eat a sandwich and while he ate this he had the brilliant idea to make the PvE servers into PvP servers, and so a few hours later it was done. I'll cut right to the end of this story. It ended in utter disaster, the feature was reverted but far too much damage had already been done to the existing PvE servers, most players on it didn't even stand a chance due to a lack of FS. Both servers were then deleted and replaced by the server now know as Independence. If Rolf and Co are as omnipotent as you claim then this story would never have happened, yet it did and it cost the game plenty of players, thus hurting the finances. Worse yet, your argument discourages people from giving feedback to the devs because you claim the devs know what would be good or bad for the game, so there's no point in giving feedback if they already know what is and isn't good for the game. After all, why tell them what they already know? This is very dangerous, because devs thrive on feedback, they need it. It's what the suggestions forum is there for in the first place. Never shun or discourage feedback, that truly kills games or prevents them from ever being more than average. Sure, our feedback as likely based on a lot of assumptions and incorrect information, but if it's well written feedback then the devs should be able to tell whether the feedback applies to the actual situation or not, and it can still help give them insights into situations/scenarios which they hadn't considered. Of course in Wurm's case it's not helping that the devs hardly ever properly document stuff, which means it's anything but suprising that feedback tends to be based on false assumptions, because often all we can do is assume.

Everyone seems to think Traders need a total overhaul and some aspects do need change but with a few tweaks they can work. 1. Instead of draining have them by selling them items no one would want to buy have them deposit an amount determined by the activity of the trader into the a fund drawn from the trader's owner (just like merchants). 2. Give them the ability to sell things just as merchants instead of an automatic value not inline with what people will actually pay for them let people determine value. 3. Make the items placed on the trader available through all other traders on the server. Just like a merchant but the trader takes a much larger percentage of profits for taxes and delivery. (20%) This would make them true traders and end the need to lock them away. It would also end the need to clot them up with nearly useless items that are so Overpriced that no one would buy them unless they were getting the money back. The trader system as it is always seemed silly to me because 90% of them are locked in a shack only trading with one person and still manages to get more money than that one person gives them. This would not replace the current merchant system because they would still cost 50 silver to place and the items put on them would most likely be much higher than regular merchants. Also it would allow sellers to see what others on their server are selling similar items for leading to a stabilization of prices. Restrictions on placing could stay the same but I would prefer they be limited to one per account needing premium membership to place or receive funds from the trader. If premium time expires for the placer then cannot access funds from it. The only difficult major change would be the the server wide sales screen perhaps divided by categories for easy use.

It is well known that we have a positioning bug in this game of two tiles back and one to the right. It is evident when people cannot hit the mobs from the back of your cart, get stuck in buildings, fall through walls and so forth. It is incredibly annoying and has been reported time and again. I believe it seeped into game around wagons came and were two tiles wide and then were changed back to being one tile wide to allow for travel though gates and in between walled one tile wide roads. Now this bug is probably causing heaps of other problems too. My wagon horses must also be experiencing the exact same bug. How do I know? They stand inside a doughnut house on all enchanted grass inside my deed and they pack tiles inside my actual house (where I have just normal grass) two tiles behind and one tile to the right of the horses. Last week, two of my horses - cared for btw - got diseases while on the enchanted grass. One died. They were never off the enchanted grass, they were always on it yet got skinny and diseased. This is while being cared for and on enchanted grass their whole lives. The positioning bug most probably caused them to eat grass, which then wasnt there as they were looking for it two tiles behind and one tile to the right of where they were standing. I have heard others tell stories of how horses pack tiles in adjacent locked camps through walls. This needs to be addressed urgently. Note that you also cannot examine hitched animals in wagons, even though it looks like you are standing right inside of them, you get error message "you are too far to do this". More proof that wagon horses are not in the server where the client shows them to be. This bug also causes the same issue with our bugged bridges, as the client thinks you are on the bridge (and shows it on your screen) yet the server knows you are not and most probably floating in mid air next to the actual bridge, two tiles behind and one tile to the right of where the client shows you: You cannot lead horses on a bridge, you lose them and cannot relead them. You are not on the same bridge as them yet you are... You cannot drop stuff and pick it back up from a bridge, you are not on the same bridge as dropped item, yet you are.... You cannot dismount and remount on a bridge, you are not on the same bridge as your cart or horse, yet you are.... PLEASE FIX THE ANNOYING POSITIONING BUG URGENTLY ON BOTH PLAYERS AND ANIMALS (I think horses/bison in wagons are affected here).

So I have a question. I didn't read all the posts because frankly all the vicious, bitter, name calling aimed at the dirty rotten blood sucking leeches who shell out 50 euros for a trader, (and with the changes will now probably not see their money back for many years), is getting a bit tiresome. My question is this... Do you have to be premium or pay for a deed to get coins from the critters, foraging, or selling at the token? Is everyone who is raking in the free coins contributing to the upkeep of this game? If so, fine. If not, then I see a whole lot of the pot calling the kettle black in this thread and I would suggest that it be changed to only premium and mayors can suck money from the game. That way no one is being a greedy blood sucking leech. They are also contributing. lol. Seems some think it's quite alright to suck money out of the game as long as you don't have to pay 50 euros for it though. Rolf and Co are the only ones who know exactly how traders and any other coin distribution affects the financial bottom line in this game. Traders were already changed so that they're not paying out like they used to. The poll specifically said that they were merely getting information. All of the arguments from the negative nellies and name callers in this thread have been repeated over and over for years. I'm quite sure they're aware of ALL of the ramifications. The bottom line is, IF it is beneficial and makes a profit to help support the game to get the money from trader sales and the upkeep on trader deeds, especially now that traders are not paying like they used to, then my guess is it will happen. If it is NOT beneficial and will not support the game, then it will not happen. You all can be as vicious as you like to your fellow players in your arguments and call names til doomsday, and it will not change that one bit. Traders are already not paying enough to make it a "cash cow." And the more traders, the less they make. No one is going to be sucking your blood. Good gods people. Use your heads and apply some logic instead of going off the deep end with your emotions (and dare I say possibly a touch of "if I can't, no one else should be allowed to" attitudes?) The income from any traders that do get sold would be a good thing for the game and anyone claiming they want to help the games financial bottom line should see that. Oh, and just for the record, I do not currently own any traders. Thought I'd toss that out there before the accusations started about protecting interests and all that. lol

Your upkeep goes directly into the trader 'pot'. Then the players who have traders milk those traders for the money YOU put in there and they use your money to pay for their deeds, equipment, etc. In other words, you are paying them to have a deed. They get rich off your sweat. The ones who want them on Xan are the same ones who now have them on other servers. And of course they have many premium alts because of the money they milk from their traders so they have an advantage when it comes to voting on ingame 'polls'. Traders should be eliminated entirely.

Hi Everyone! I'm Chakron, developer of the website Niarja.com which parses every tweet sent out by the Wurm Online twitter accounts and displays them in a useful, searchable interface. Today I launched Niarja Skill Compare - this thread will detail what it's all about, but why wait? Take a look at what it does right now. ------ Niarja Skill Compare What do you do when you want to share your skills with friends, or sell your character? You take a skill dump. And boy, skill dumps are ugly. Wurm Online has 140 skills and a skill dump is just a line-by-line list of every skill you have. Wurm skills aren't even in a particularly useful order. People have developed skill highlighting applications just to make some sense out of them. Even now it's hard - you're basically looking a new skill dump every time you see one. You have no idea what order things appear it, what skills will be highlighted (or how), or what the format of the dump will even be. Niarja Skill Compare solves all of that. Here's my character sheet. Character sheets show off your skills in a consistent format. They also show what you're best at, and let you compare your skills to the rest of the Wurm world. They even let you track your skillgain progress! For example, let's click on my digging skill and take a look: Clicking on my Digging skill has shown that on Freedom Cluster, I am the #1 Digger who has publicly shared their skills! And that's pretty great...but I'm also the only person currently on Niarja Skill Compare, so I doubt that'll last. You also see a graph right below. I've uploaded three skill dumps and Niarja Skill Compare has created that graph for me to check my skill progress. After you've uploaded more than one skill dump you can click on any skill and start seeing that. Looks Cool! I don't want to share my data with everyone! You don't have to! After registering an account, you get to decide if your data is public (shared with everyone), or private. When your character data is public you'll be able to compare your skills to other players. When your character data is private you're not allowed to do that, but you gain the ability to keep your information to yourself. But don't worry - you have a code you can give out to your friends if you want to share your data to select individuals. I Play on Freedom and Epic, will this break? Nope! Your character maintains separate skill sets for the Freedom and Epic clusters. You can even toggle privacy separately. For example, you can have a public Freedom Cluster skill dump and a private Epic Cluster skill dump, all for the same character! Can I use this to help sell a character? Easily. You're able to post public characters to the "For Sale" area. Just give us a link to your thread in For Sale or Auctions and we'll feature your character sale right on the front page, giving your potential buyers an easy way to check out your skills. Look at the Best and Compare with Others! On the main page of Niarja Skill Compare, you can view the top and most active players. You can also search to see the top players in a particular skill (but only the ones who have shared their data publicly!). You can even search for specific players. ------ There are still some rough areas, but I think I've got the bugs mostly worked out. This should work pretty well (but not VERY well) on your phone or tablet, too. Let me know if you run into any problems, because I'd love to fix those as quickly as possible. If you've got any ideas, post them here or better yet, head on over to my thread in the Toolbelt. Thanks!

I am pretty new to Wurm and looking for a village. I have 100 or so hours of experience playing solo and am quickly starting to realize the major advantages of being in a group. I haven't played in a while so my trial character no longer exists, but I will gladly create a premium character on a server with a good village willing to accept me. Keep in mind I am a human in real life, therefore I won't be able to commit to playing {random number} hours a week. I will likely play often, I just can't commit to a consistent schedule. Skills? Well I am pretty handy with a bo staff and I can shake my eyes really fast. Personal info: I'm a degreed engineer 25-30 years of age so I guess I might be considered a mature player to some. Time zone: (GMT-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada) Thanks in advance for any responses!

When will Forum accounts and game accounts finally be linked together? At this time anyone can use a proxy server and a throw away email account to create unlimited Forum accounts here. They can then use those to troll the heck out of these forums without repercussions. I say it's time for Wurm to take back these Forums from the multi-forum account trolls.

One thing I've found Wurm completely lacking is any form of exit survey. May help CC know why people are leaving since goodbye threads are simply an opening for all the trolls to run rampant, and feedback beyond the "inner circle" what/whoever that's made up of is should clear some interrogatives up for Rolf. Cheers

After typing /titles we can see a note: "Note: Armour smiths that use their title gets faster armour improvement rate" Which titles are these? Titles for subskills of armour smithing (like "Platesmith") or the armour-smithing skill (the parent skill) itself? Do leatherworking titles work for leather armour and bardings? How much is the bonus given by the title? Does anyone have any data?

So now you pretend to not care whether or not there are traders? Then why the post? You are the OP. And why the poll? You are the one that started all of this. If someone does something to intentionally make someone upset, distraught or unhappy or ruin their WURM experience that is griefing or trolling. So I guess you need to report yourself since you have admitted you have done this just to upset a portion of the community. I really never considered Kegan a troll until now. I even respected the Kegan character.

it is a bit of a pyramid scheme. Traders give you more silver, the more that people spend on deeds and purchasing things on traders. So, the first to plant traders on new servers get the silver from all the others that buy traders after and so on. The last folks to buy traders are the ones that come in after the pyramid is too crowded. Then the outcry of "these traders hardly pay anymore and e should be refunded". If these kind of schemes are illegal in RL, why do we allow them in wurm, when real funds are linked? This is one of the reasons why I am out if this gets deployed to Xanadu. A game feature should never be added if it only is a real benefit to the ones that get in first. Otherwise, you are telling your future customers that you think they are just chumps. I say ban all player deployed traders forever.

Have you ever tried to manage a door but can't do so once you are close? Have you tried to bash one but you couldn't see it because it opened to you (the owner)? A good solution could be to have new models for mine doors (they're a bit old aren't they?) which will have some form of a door frame that is still clickable when the door opens. Or if a door frame could cause issues with collisions we could use some visible hinges while we are inside the mine.

The poll absolutely should be reworded: Do you want traders on Xanadu even knowing this will reduce the pool of coins available to all players for selling at token/botanizing & foraging? As it is now, it is misleading in sounding like it is all win and no downsides. Of course, the players most affected by this (villagers and new players trying to earn coins for their first deed/premium/armor/weapons) cannot vote. Also we have already had warnings that people still profit off traders as long as they know how to work the new changed mechanics. So back to the broken system that mostly favors a small elite pool of players with "insider knowledge" of how to work the system. You KNOW all of those new trader owners will next be campaigning for better returns on our investments! And now even more people howling for "Reimbursements!" if the system is ever genuinely fixed down the road. This means all of us on servers that still have the broken system, are adversely affected as well. Not just Xanadu deed owners. Let the trader system die. Also remove any coins going to public Xanadu traders and currently milked by people camping their alts there. Any coins should arrive in tiny "iron and coppers" trickle on a daily basis and not one large lump sum "jackpot" for whoever times it best.. Rolf, you did the smart thing leaving private traders off Xanadu. Don't undo one of your better judgment calls, just for some very shorterm silver gain. It is going to hurt you in the long run. It is going to hurt ALL of us in the long run.

I don't know if this would be of much value. Whenever some "exit" survey pops up I will just check to most convenient answer to get rid of it and be on my way. Sometimes if I am really dissatisfied I will check what I think would be the least applicable reason. Point being, if I am dissatisfied with whatever game, program, subscription, service, I am not very likely to provide them with any helpful accurate information. Good riddance and don't slow down my departure, is more my response. =Ayes=

I'd like to start off by saying that I didn't want to take this to the forums. But I feel like my request is being ignored and I don't know where else to go. I put in a request 10 days ago to have my Epic account (Zol) linked to my forum account (Zol)..... 10 days..... after about 5 days I made a new ticket to have it done and was told by a CM that my ticket was "in queue". Another 5 days go by and I am starting to really lose my patience with this whole process. Why am I paying for premium on two characters if the GM's can't be troubled to take 30 seconds to do this for me? Not like I am asking a lot or can do it myself. This is the system that was put in place to keep people who don't play on epic from posting in the forums. If you aren't going to make the system player friendly then allow the forum moderators to link the accounts or recruit more GM's if the ticket queue is that long..... All I can say is that this is beyond rediculous. I just want to post in the epic threads and forum PvP like all the greats.

Forum linking is not a task that everyone on the staff can do. The process involves verifying addresses in multiple places and often requires us to ask the requesting player some account related questions. That means that we can only address these requests when the player is online. Because we have had issues in the past with account spamming and previously banned players making new accounts in order to gain access to Theater, the process is a little complex. Not perfect, but complicated. I apologize for your delay. If you have a Forum link request that is getting old please feel free to look for me in IRC and I will get you sorted out.

You may have some accuracy to you speculation here. This brings to mind the "new e-mail address, feedback@wurmonline.com, for general bits of feedback". With this option many "suggestions" can be made surreptitiously. Not so sure it was a good idea to create this option to gather your "crew" together to submit "feedback" unopposed in this manner. The plot thickens! =Ayes=

Idk why people still think traders are the devil and are cancer to the game. I can only seem to ever get money from Elevation which has only recently been reset and has very few traders, a lot of funds from forms/pmks, and also land control dependant. My trader on desertion got 15 copper last month, let that sink in and tell me it is a horrible feature. The only horrible thing about traders is in my eyes spending 50s to get 15 copper per month. Of course, over the last year it had a high of 1.25 silver, I can't let that huge amount of cash go unnoticed

I've been waiting for this for years. The half ass attempt at connecting 'game-to-forum account' that was done a few years ago was wasted time. The only thing it did was create a "no-go" zone for most in regards to posting in Chaos' sub. The real problem is, we have a majority of the forum population using aliases, which is an anonymity situation. People say and do things they shouldn't when there's no one that can account them for it (which is the same primary reason why most players don't want in-game name changes). I am hoping that, eventually, all players get issued (via CC) one forum account per in-game character. Each forum name matches the player's name in-game, without the ability to change it. In the slight case that a person sells a character, the forum acct follows the new owner. (Yes, my suggestion prevents non-players from creating forum accounts and posting. Quite honestly, I don't think anyone cares about what an advertisement bot or a player that quit/got banned 4 years ago has to say.)

A few suggestions: 1. Bison can be saddled with normal saddles, but it is truly worthless as they still run off even with saddles. PLEASE make it so they don't run away when they have a saddle on their back, same as horses. It would really help if the five speed bison in the wagon don't go all Usain Bolt when they are unhitched. 2. Since sitting was introduced on carts, the passenger's weapon obscures the driver's views. Please make it so the weaps won't interfere with the driver's view. Also, since sitting, carts no longer "tilt" backwards when going up slopes, so you can't see what is going on behind you like you could before. Please tilt the carts back like they did before the sitting. Or, alternatively, allow the driver to either sit or stand, so you can either have things as they currently are, or like they were before the introduction of sitting (no weapons to obscure your view, and see the cart as tilted backwards so you can see what is going on behind you when going uphill). 3. Allow us to make jewelry with gems (currently, gems are only useful for priests or for making sacrificial knives). Allowing uses like rings or necklaces would be awesome. Also, allow troll teeth to be made into necklaces or knife blades. 4. Since we now bounce over walls, please allow other options to be safe while building on high slopes. Things like grappling hooks, mountain gear, ropes, things that will allow stam regen while you are trying to build the next wall on your mountain deed, or perhaps just climbing up mountains as fence ladders no longer work. 5. Please allow better options for placing and moving items. Drop/plant (and hope for the best), push and pull, and turn a standard amount really sucks. Please make it more accurate to drop or plant on a specific spot inside the tile, or aligned to the tile edge, and as for turning, please allow turning clockwise or anti clockwise by an amount in degrees instead of just a standard amount. Addition: Please allow hauling straight from wagons or carts like it was before the whole "offload, go upstairs, activate rope, haul thing up" was introduced. This added at least 3 more mouseclicks to the simple act of getting things from a wagon or cart to a few floors up. 6. Belated additions: 6a. When you sit down on a cart or ship you have this really weird thing poking out the front of your body...I am sure everyone knows what I am referring to. Please fix this. 6b. Everyone now falls off carts when they are the passenger, when you take fast turns or go over bridges or even passing gates. Whether a bug or just something to suggest, please look into this too. (If bug please move this part to bug section. Thanks!)

I am sure this has been requested before, just want to re-request this to allow better terraforming: 1. Rock under water for canals (or deep harbours, nice fishing spots...): Please create some way in which we can make the rock level lower so we can make channels deeper. .. perhaps some tool or device we can use like a dredge, but it would "surface mine" exposed rock layers under water? As things currently stand, we cannot sail through shallow canals, so ships other than rowboats, sailboats and knarrs are excluded from using these canals. It makes a lot of Wurm inaccessible and make sailing times, which are already LONG, much longer for those ships. 2. Clay: Lots of the clay deposits on Wurm are at shorelines and under water. Once the clay has been raised (which is super easy by just dumping dirts on the clay), it can never be lowered again to a level where deeper ships can sail over. You can get it to a point where rowboats, sailboats and knarrs can pass (with over 70 digging, mind you), but it basically becomes an underwater bank of entrapment for any deeper ships. It seems silly to me to make it so easy to raise clay by dumping dirt on it (which noobs do when they run from mobs), yet it is so difficult to even lower to just below water level, and on top of that it is impossible to lower it enough for deep ships to pass over it. Could we make a tool that could be used like a dredge, perhaps by people with over 70 digging, to lower clay like we can lower dirt with a dredge? Thanks.

The page on Valrei missions could use a bit of update: http://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Mission In particular, the rewards section seems a bit off - I think there was something about the white cup or something as well? I'm not sure that ascended player characters are still unplayable, either. Unfortunately, I don't have any actual experience to offer on this. If it's actually correct, please disregard this . Longer term, the specific missions could be fleshed out a bit - for example, a common question in CA is whether the trees in cut-the-tree missions can be in perimeter or not. Also, the sacrifice mission could be linked to the sacrificing page. And the hidden item mission could give some idea of where said hidden items may be found.

Valrei spells, obtainable by any other player. Our kingdom alt has more valrei spells than probably any current demigod player on the server except maybe nathan. If not make them a champion, give them something unique, like the ability to guide themselves without needing a huge amount of karma, or the ability to pick which template they want to align themselves every few months Also, this should be in the suggestions section..

    >Remove their role in coin distribution and send a cut of their sales to deed upkeep funds instead. This would achieve several good things. One is that it would be now useless to have a hidden trader, as the only benefit comes from open public access. By having a percentage of profit go direct to upkeep (which I believe cannot be drained except through disbanding) , it benefits real legitimate deeds where the trader serves the deed instead of the deed serving the trader. There would be little point in opening multiple deeds JUST to house a growing stable of traders. But there are a LOT of unresolved issues. Will it actually work as intended? Is the current 50s fee an appropriate one or does it need to be lowered? What type of return would the average trader owner be actually seeing after six months, two years? Right now it is all guesswork and I don't think it would be wise to proceed without being quite sure what you are doing. Also, if these are still called "traders", does changing how they work / what they cost affect all traders gamewide, or only on Xanadu? Maybe a test with the NPCs leased on a 6 month contract and not purchased outright, that way at the end of the trial period both sides could discuss how it worked out and no one demanding full reimbursements if the system is tweaked along the way. Give them a different name (Contracted Public Trader) to show these are not quite the same as current traders. If the system worked REALLY GREAT, a year or so from now current traders on all servers could be "grandfathered in" as permanent but all NEW traders on ALL servers are afterwards on a six or 12 month contract system that is deliberately somewhat fluid and devs monitor whether the entire community seems to be better off. I am sure there are people with other ideas. It's a good idea, Anothernoob. I cannot recall now the system proposed by Othob in the past but maybe compare several of the "Major Revisions" that people are proposing and see whether there is not a NEW trader system that works better than the past, then gradually get everyone into the new system (people who bought a trader in the past getting a grandfathered in one however there needs to be a discussion about whether grandfathered traders can be sold/traded freely. It is also possible that after a test period, it is cdecided "well that really didn't go as planned" and traders are pulled "until we think about it some more..." Also public traders should not buy/sell playermade items for cash coin (or, it is limited to 20c per player per day; simce they no longer get redistributed coins this is less likely to be abused) but should allow players to "barter/trade" so items that other players bartered in can be exchanged. One player needs 8 nails and another wants a 13Q pelt. A lead anchor might get you a 15Q longsword or it might get you a bowlful of seeds. All of this needs to be LESS attractive than directly trading with players face to face which should always be the most profitable way to sell tradegoods. Maybe a way for it to allow players to accept a trade even if it is not EXACTLY even, if the player is willing to accept a lesser value to make the trade.

Actually my memory is different (I will have to go back and recheck as my memory is also faulty at times). My recollection is: 1) Epic was initially designed to be fast paced and periodically reset 2) Some people were unhappy about this so it was changed to "ok, no resets" 3) After a while other people were unhappy about "no resets" and so it was reset despite being told no resets Now, one could say "Stick To A Plan and never ever deviate or you end up with a mishmash" or one could say "play it by ear, see if it works and if it does not, make alterations in one's course." Or one could say "a little if this and then a little of that". We are not consistent creatures, this is probably a very good thing. But it also means we will tend to be highly inconsistent in how highly we value consistency. The one thing you can always always count on, is no matter what you do someone will be very unhappy about it. One could tack on "so just don;t worry about that since someone is ALWAYS unhappy" or it could suggest its best to be conservative with changes since many changes mean many unhappy people, and the more changes you make the more unhappy people you make until you have reached a breaking point of super unhappy people, but you have to at some point acknowledge something is just not working out as hoped. This is where ultimately we are all at the fate of the rolfmind. The rolfmind actually has a pretty decent track record over the years although it has its ups and its downs. Now, rolf can take a poll then disregard the poll because he is curious how many people agree with something -- 50.764 percent? 97.574 percent? The poll is nonbinding but that is sure to mean if he decides to consider but not follow the poll, people will huff and say why even take a poll if you just ignore it that's so stupid even though he did not actually ignore it, he considered it then set it aside. I am just glad it is not me, deciding. I get tired even thinking of having to do so much thinking, so I am back to my afternood nap and then off to shear my sheep \o

That is true. I don't think these are regular interventions, though, and they seem to be performed at Rolf's discretion. A lot of giveaways were also aimed at the Challenge servers. I'm not including these because they are a hidden factor, and one that is controlled by Rolf to further his vision. I wouldn't therefore assume that this is a case of players taking advantage of the creators of this game. I actually mentioned that under anti-social ways of making money, although this system is now abolished. I wouldn't have written my post if I hadn't seen this system go the way of the dodo. And I was an advocate of getting rid of it, if you remember. I didn't want to make a mathematical post, but I did a simple estimation: following the silver sales on the forums, I'm guessing these amount to no more than 250 silvers per month on average. I did not take sales for euros instead of silver into account - maybe this is a mistake, maybe not. In order for this figure to be 1% of the premium earnings (add 0.5 silver for deed upkeep on average, perhaps), you'd need to have no more than around 4500 premium accounts in total. Actually less, since this would mean that no one buys silver from the shop for their other needs, only upkeep and premium. Then you can see that this cannot be that far from the truth, not by a huge margin at least. Actually, I would like to see those who raise accusations back up their fear-mongering with some estimations or numbers. And please don't tell me that everyone lives from recirculated silver, tell me how to do it. Post-trader, that is. All I've gotten from recirculation was a pittance. It actually has to be that way, Ayes. With nearly infinite resources, with ever-increasing skill, and a still much higher rate of production than of decay, there's more and more goods on the market that are looking for their customer. What is the market for tools below 70ql? Or without CoC? That's stuff you get at impalongs or from neighbours for free. As prices plummet, services become unavailable since they are simply not worth doing anymore, except at one's own leisure or for friends. In Wurm, nobody is born as a consumer, we are producers from day one. Who hasn't made their own first mallet, but bought it instead? Unlike RL, there is a choice to become a consumer here. And the role of a consumer here is a very active one, too. Certainly an interesting topic. As I tried to point out with my 1% guestimate, I don't think we're nearing that point any time soon. While you're at it, you might as well question why Rolf pays wages to developers since it has a detrimental effect to his company balance. Of course he does that to stimulate the growth of his game. Just like he did with freebies and the Challenge server rewards. None of which I've partaken in, in case you were wondering. I'm simply arguing against this second myth. As in RL, there are sociable folks with a lot of superficial contacts, and there are more introverted folks with a few really intimate friends. In game I tend firmly towards the latter end of the spectrum, and play the part of a reclusive hermit (when I actually play, that is). Half my friendlist is from people I've bought from, and while they aren't real friends in the narrower sense, I do welcome their addition as one window to the outside world.

What will this actually accomplish? Yeah cool, you prohibit it, it's going to happen, regardless of if it results in a ban or not.

Given the recent events I was wondering if it would be possible to give a writ or mine door permission option for all forges and ovens? The reason is simple: A lot of people store items inside their forges, for example frying pans, armour they are imping, weapons, magical chests, and so forth. These items can be taken if anyone enters the house, say, by bashing a wall down. There is no way to secure these items in any other way except by physically moving them to a chest (which you cannot do if said items are too hot to fit into the container). If the forge has a writ/mine door permission, it would be peace of mind to log out knowing the stuff inside it is safe. Secondly, this will give us an option to use the forge or oven as a safe inside our houses. We can build forges and store valuables inside it locked away, not having to worry that it will be gone when we log in. Thirdly, inside mines, where we mine together in teams but sometimes with other people there too, it would be great to only allow people mining with you, to access your forges. The writ/permission should include the permission to load the forge as well, or alternatively, no forge should be able to be loaded while there is anything inside it. EDIT: Please look at cart and wagon permissions also. I would like to specify who I want to give access to my cart by name, not a blanket "all friends" or "all allies". I want to tick a specific name. This can be taken a step further then: Add a box for who you want to give permission to be able to drag or push or pull your cart/wagon. Then we can use locked carts and wagons inside our houses as storage for valuables, and as long as we did not give someone permission to drag/push/pull it , it will be safe inside the house, without the need of animals hitched to it (which is really not viable unless you drop grass for them all the time, or have a doughnut with enchanted grass).
