    We tailors are finally getting some love. New clothing of all sorts to dress our wurmians into! Now, I am seeing some new outfits. They are beautiful. But why not add courtly clothes, and dresses. Hey, a Kilt could also be nice for those with scottish roots among us! And now, the main topic Leatherworking has an ultimate material: Drake Hide Platesmithing has an Ultimate Material: Dragon Scales What does the cloth tailor have? Absolutely nothing... nothing that can be useful to a priest, even. So, here comes my idea... A new monster, a unique, called the spider queen. It runs deadly toxins, and would be rather hard to kill, what does it drop? ... Bunches of spider's silk! That silk can be cured (with Lye) to become Cured Spider Silk, then it would be woven into string carefully (Spindle or Spinning wheel? Spindle would work better I think), then you can weave it into silk cloth. What can you do with that silk cloth? Armour that weighs nearly nothing, that hardly slows you down (just as cloth armor) but protects as good as a studded leather. Priests would love this, wouldn't they? Of course, something so ...regal and rare as silk, the piece of armor would have to have that look. A look of master craftsmanship to it! Be hard to make, hard to imp... but in average, rather worth it for archers or priests! Allowing them to keep the full bonus while having a seeming of protection! Edit: After reading the comments and suggestions, I agree that my idea would work if drawn from spider, and here's a way to still make it hard enough that not everyone would be able to walk in spider silk, but be something for those wealthier or part of larger communities. Each spiders have a chance to drop silk. The drop would come in the form of a silk gland, each age categories would give a gland that is 0.5 in weight, and when treated with Lye, each glands of 0.5 gives 0.1 of Silk. Then, you need to spindle that silk into silk thread, and 1 thread being 0.2kg of silk, means you need at least 2 silk glands to make a silk thread That silk thread is what is used into the imping process. However, Silk Thread can be woven into Silk Cloth in a Loom, which allows the creation of sets of Silk Armor. As a silk armor would require the killing and successful butchering of dozens of spiders, it still makes it much more rare to work with then cotton, harder to work with then wool (as not everybody can kill spiders) and require a lot of spider kills to make one set. Spiders cannot be bred, so that does help keep the difficulty level of that Supreme Material for tailoring high enough that to not make Cotton become outright outdated. Any feedbacks over that new idea?

    Hey Everyone! This week has seen more of the same from devs, with a continued focus on bugfixes and small additions. But Wossoo, what are these Fancy Pants that you talk of? Well you'll just have to keep reading! We also welcome Warlander to the team as a volunteer client developer. His focus will probably be on GUI improvements. The Week in Patch Notes The bug crusade has continued, and below is a roundup of the week's patch notes in full. Fixes that apply to all servers are in black, to purely PvP servers in blue and to purely PvE servers in green. 8/6/15:Fix so chopping a tree down leaves the grass (or mycelium) at same length (except lawn goes to short grass/mycelium).Fix for fsb and bsb becoming unplanted over server resets.Fix so can’t dig at the end of bridges.Fix so the max ql of floors and bridge parts is not restricted to 80.In order to prevent various annoying situations, siege shields (and unfinished ones) are now notake and must be created where they are supposed to be used.Turrets should now properly revert to unenchanted ones if dispelled.Removed false disease status which occurred in certain situations.Fix for fatigue going into the negative and blocking certain actions while mounted.Bulk container double turn menus removed.Scissors now take proper damage when shearing.Fix for floor/roof damage using certain tools.Blocked removing bulk items into tents due to certain exploitability.Harvesting now properly using 100 item inventory limitation.Exiting through a door with enemies players in local should now unlock it as well as when entering.Removed possibility to change creator by dealing damage to items.You can no longer tame creatures led by another player or hitched to a vehicle.Hens and chickens no longer autofollow due to disease issues.Summoned skeletons and wraiths should no longer attack same kingdom but other kingdom players.Made it so newbie tents can’t be put into containers due to exploitability.10/6/15: A few bugs that may have prevented Nathan from ascending were found, and he was ascended manually since Fo won this scenario.Powers and vitality for deities on Valrei are now recalculated when receiving immortality. The calculated attack and vitality values generated that are higher than 6 will start at 6 and add 0.1 per full point above 6. So a value of 11 will result in 6.5. This will balance the playing field better. Existing deities have had their values recalculated according to this algorithm. More New Clothing Following on from his new line of shirts released last week, Wox has continued working on Wurm's fashion range, with 3 new designs of pant. You can catch some sneak previews below - it's beginning to look like Wurm will have a pretty expansive range of clothing once he's done! Wox's next fashion venture could go anywhere... although a contact on the inside has informed us that he is currently designing new shoulder pads (pauldrons,) an optional armour slot made possible a while ago but not looked into until now. They're intended to be decoration-only. Marble Statues Continuing the trend of new art assets, we can confirm this week that we'll be releasing marble versions of all statues. For now, Saroman has given us a preview of a marble Lady of the Lake. Feedback Structure Here at the PR Team, we've also been looking into improving the ways that we collect feedback from the community. It will be an ongoing process - but to get things kicked off, we've created a new e-mail address, feedback@wurmonline.com, for general bits of feedback. Any issues with moderation should still always be raised with the moderation team, either through forum PM (or the in-game /support system where appropriate); bugs should still be reported in the maintenance area, where they will be picked up by staff and added to our lists of bugs; and suggestions for game features/changes should still be posted in the suggestions area. It might not feel like we listen to feature suggestions, but the simple fact is that the game is so huge with so many ideas that it will always take time to implement anything. Hopefully, recent dev work (like more clothing items, permissions and bugfixes) will help to emphasise that we do listen to suggestions, just that it always takes time to act on them. Most things are covered by the above, but we'd like to trial the feedback account as a way for you to communicate any other more general issues. The account will be staffed by numerous members of the PR team, and that will allow us to reply to all feedback within 24 hours - something not always possible under the current system of trying to find a team member to PM (who may be away or too busy to reply.) Handling feedback is difficult but is a top priority, and so we'd like to experiment with some slow expansion to see what works best for us and for the community. Tap Dance Bridge, Celebration It’s been exciting to see all the new bridges being created across the lands of Wurm! This week we continue to take a look at some of these bridge projects with the Tap Dance Bridge completed on the Celebration server. The folks from Mercenary Camp took it upon themselves to provide a quicker, safer route between Tap Dance and Southern Celebration. Hats off to them for such an impressive building project! The unique center arch-section allows larger ships to pass through and gives the bridge a fun, roller-coaster effect. You can learn more about the Tap Dance Bridge project here. GM Jberg/Logi also took some aerial screenshots of the bridge for us, which look pretty cool! Screenshot of the Week Our screenshot this week is courtesy of Calimdor.     I am playing Wurm Online since a very long time - I started somewhere in 2009, and - after all these years - it's time to help the game grow and prosper. I am developing tools for Wurm Online since few years - starting from Wurm Online Toolbox which was also my first "real" program, through 2d House Calculator, 3d HouseCalc, and finally DeedPlanner and Wurm Toolbox. Now I will focus on Wurm client, but I will not forget about the last two tools as well - both of them will receive new features and fixes. Long live the Wurm!

    Maybe it's just me, but the whole new gods, their associated WL/BL alignment, random spell lists, conversion to follower processes and other factors feels really really wonky. To the point that if it is ever "adjusted" for consistency/logic reasons, it's going to be a very big adjustment with WL/BL association changes, spell list modifications etc. Nahjo - WL god, has fungus spell (BL altar/domain feature). Does his Bless spell function as Libila's, corrupting the animal or does it perform a WL bless. Does the inclusion of that spell also mean his altar will spread Mycelium? I can't see that being well met on the WL side...or maybe it will. I don't know enough about Tosiek to notice any immediate contradictions, but now with the Nathan development, i"m curious to see how that one pans out. Regardless, the whole thing strikes me as having no actual roadmap for player deities being implemented and all the factors that come into play and we are well into it at this point.

    A few suggestions: 1. Bison can be saddled with normal saddles, but it is truly worthless as they still run off even with saddles. PLEASE make it so they don't run away when they have a saddle on their back, same as horses. It would really help if the five speed bison in the wagon don't go all Usain Bolt when they are unhitched. 2. Since sitting was introduced on carts, the passenger's weapon obscures the driver's views. Please make it so the weaps won't interfere with the driver's view. Also, since sitting, carts no longer "tilt" backwards when going up slopes, so you can't see what is going on behind you like you could before. Please tilt the carts back like they did before the sitting. Or, alternatively, allow the driver to either sit or stand, so you can either have things as they currently are, or like they were before the introduction of sitting (no weapons to obscure your view, and see the cart as tilted backwards so you can see what is going on behind you when going uphill). 3. Allow us to make jewelry with gems (currently, gems are only useful for priests or for making sacrificial knives). Allowing uses like rings or necklaces would be awesome. Also, allow troll teeth to be made into necklaces or knife blades. 4. Since we now bounce over walls, please allow other options to be safe while building on high slopes. Things like grappling hooks, mountain gear, ropes, things that will allow stam regen while you are trying to build the next wall on your mountain deed, or perhaps just climbing up mountains as fence ladders no longer work. 5. Please allow better options for placing and moving items. Drop/plant (and hope for the best), push and pull, and turn a standard amount really sucks. Please make it more accurate to drop or plant on a specific spot inside the tile, or aligned to the tile edge, and as for turning, please allow turning clockwise or anti clockwise by an amount in degrees instead of just a standard amount. Addition: Please allow hauling straight from wagons or carts like it was before the whole "offload, go upstairs, activate rope, haul thing up" was introduced. This added at least 3 more mouseclicks to the simple act of getting things from a wagon or cart to a few floors up. 6. Belated additions: 6a. When you sit down on a cart or ship you have this really weird thing poking out the front of your body...I am sure everyone knows what I am referring to. Please fix this. 6b. Everyone now falls off carts when they are the passenger, when you take fast turns or go over bridges or even passing gates. Whether a bug or just something to suggest, please look into this too. (If bug please move this part to bug section. Thanks!)

    I don't know what planet you're from but the ratio was added because of everyone whining about the hoarders on freedom hoggin up the animal limits.... There's like, zero reason it was added that can be blamed on pvp, because nobody complained about hoarders on pvp, pvers were complaining about other pvers hoarding

    also we could end up with a real life wedding couple that repeats/renews their vows ingame (either an already married couple or a couple who met in the game, we must have some) It might make a good PR story + video maybe it will go .... v i r a l I will come and throw cotton! And wemp! (we can throw rice and flowers but that would not be as fun) +1 "any priest can perform a short service" we probably have most of this already (rings, sermons, new clothes) so just a tweak here and there to make ones specific to a wedding ceremony Oh also a trellis for roses (would look spiffy with hedges)

    Hello fellow wurmians ! I wanted to ask your opinion about this idea Ive had with some friends. As we all know, nature in wurm its perfectly developed and everything works pretty much like reality or at least it haves good adaptations most of the times so we noticed there are no products of insect origin, so the first thing that came to mind was bees, we can have honey as the main harvestable item and with it make different kinds of meals or even drinks, such as mead, which could also be made with fruits, like "honey+water = mead" and a variety could be "honey+water+berries = blue berry mead" of course we cant go around harvesting honey directly from hives, so I thought it would be nice to make this kind of things http://img.over-blog-kiwi.com/0/53/46/33/201311/ob_2791da23ecd9454336acc79c6384b6a9_dsc08244.JPG http://www.babilon.be/uploads/images/Gallery/Apiculture/somme-leuze.jpg to store hives inside and harvest honey every 2 months for example ( wurmian months ) let me know what you think and please share any idea that could improve this one ! thanks and keep on wurming !

    Marriage.. Partnerships.. many players are a couple or become one.. whether it's ingame or out. Why not add to wurm's feature list marriages or simply, partnerships. Marriages could be held by priests, with popup questions to the players to confirm the arrangement. It could then display in the event and/or kchat the marriage between two (or more ^.~) players. Obviously we'd nee clothing for such a wondrous occasion! Sets for him and sets for her! Rings.. Created and placed in the inventory of newly married couples. Cannot be improved, no-drop, cannot be casted on, etc. Priests can divorce a player from his spouse, not sure how'd it work as we've seen it doesn't go so well in RL at times, however I have faith in the dev team to solve this one. Permissions on writs, vehicles, etc.. simply add a field for 'Spouse' or by default the spouse is entitled to everything you have, no permissions needed.

    Allow us to choose a specific position when embarking as passengers. It can be done by giving the current option a submenu: embark as passenger -> any seat (first unoccupied), making the parent option clickable and having this function would also work. -> 1st seat -> 2nd seat -> 3rd seat or even better make short descriptions of the seats (like "crow's nest" instead of "2nd seat").

    the server / cluster types each need their own features to give them each different incentives to play there, so pve needs to stop with the "oh but pvp get the shiny moon metals and statues we want them too but not the op ghosts that deal 20 second aoe stuns, we don't want to die or face challenge WAAAAAHHHH!" pve gets the treasure hunts, pve has actual 100 titles (not the cheap cop out "epic xxxx" crap), pve had most of the scenario rewards within one day when epic hadn't even found half of them in over a year, etc., stop acting entitled most updates do benefit all server types (although not all play styles - pvp / pve); functionality still needs variety between the servers and clusters not to mention adding moon metal to pve actually will severely effect your "economy" in the same way as drake and scale did / do, and pvp will just farm it and bring it to chaos never to be seen again anyway (again, just like drake / scale) pvp pays 3s per month for guards (as opposed to 1s on freedom), we have to replace upkeep when drained, 5s per death on res stones, priests are mandatory for self-sufficient pvp villages, enchanted stuff doesn't sell well because we take care of our own before we capitalize, therefore most of us put real money (not silver) into our coffers that drain in upwards of 20 silver per months on major, self-sufficient deeds (jke capital city at one point was 60+ silver per month), a pmk costs 1 gold... just to settle the money argument

    I agree 'twitter reading' machines suck. I also agree the system of 'text bot reading' negates the whole point of a defence advisor being a limited role - the fact there is only one permission in the office who should have this ability INDICATES only one person at a time should have the benefit. Text bots are easier to make when you have the logs sitting on your PC - what I propose is a visual representation on your screen to show a tower being bashed which wears away over time depending if it's still being bashed. If you highlight over the icon it will tell you which tower is being attacked. This will be a bit harder for a bot to read to alert 15 people immediately.

    There's so much more to the game on PvP servers than what Wurm seems to be on paper. There's so much more to the game on PvE servers than what Wurm seems to be on paper. Feeling like one is better than the other, quickly makes you forget that both play styles bring forth things that are very unique, and make the game so special for every player. Both accomplish great achievements nonetheless, and both are very important to Wurm. To Wurm as a game, and as a business, that allows it to keep running, and keep developing. Any update really benefits both sides in the end. If you can't see that, or admit that, you haven't gotten over yourself just yet, I think. *whispers* we all are a bit selfish, maybe in our own special way even

    Not to hijack the thread but how about allowing these partnerships in game the ability to use the same canopy bed....it sucks needing to have 2 of those for the 2 of us.... Besides they look big enough to fit more than 2

    I love the new clothes! I'd suggest also a unisex "skirt" that can be mix-n-matched with any of the tunic tops to make either a priest or wizard or maiden "robes"

    The Legion Riders is a small village in Chaos with big dreams and even bigger aspirations.     Actually, I have been taking notice, and it's not just "PvE people" that do it. There's bantering on both sides, especially when it comes to code changes and updates. There's enough blame to go around. On Chaos, we are just as guilty for shunning "carebears" as the PvE crowd are for telling us to go back to Chaos.

    Suggested the mountain gear back while I was on Xanadu. Given the number of mountains there, I thought it was a really cool idea. I even suggested chances of rope failure for the "We love when you die" people LOL

    It seems very strange that several years ago there was a major effort toward balancing spells. Having semi-random spell lists completely disrupts that in negative ways. This needs to be fixed and the longer this goes on the worse it will be, as players are going to devote their time and money toward training up a priest that will be removed or heavily modified.
