This was never the way I planned, not my intention. I got so brave, Sword in hand, lost my discretion It's not what I'm used to, just wanna try it on. I'm curious for you, caught my attention. I killed a crab and I liked it, The taste of that 90 nutrition. I killed a crab just to try it, I hope Tarator don't mind it. It felt so wrong, It felt so right. Don't mean I'm a crab murderer right?. I killed a crab and I liked it (I liked it). No, I don't even know its name, it doesn't matter. Its my experimental game, just wurmian nature. It's not what good wurms do, not how they should behave. My head gets so confused, hard to obey. Those crabs they are so magical, Soft meat, red claws, so edible. Hard to resist, so nomable. Too good to deny it. Ain't no big deal, I'm innocent!

I haven't seen a thread for this topic yet so I guess here we go, all priests having locate/nolocate right now, and it pretty much made it another pvp requirement to be nolo'd. It was never a problem for giving libila locate soul, but I don't think there was ever a mention of giving every priest it, now it's just ridiculous and is making every priest exactly the same, there should be advantages and incentives to go priest certain religions. I'm sure someone can word better than me how this is a problem because i'm terrible at explaining stuff.

have an Idea about getting a Nautical compass, one that will operate continuously only while in a boat or ship. This could help out Sailors especially when dealing with night and foggy conditions while sailing. Any thoughts?
  8. 3 points
It would be nice if anchors were attached by the owner of a ship, And then could be used in the right click menu, In a drop down box. Which is used to raise, Or lower the anchor. And the anchor does not go into the players inventory when it is raised, But stays attached to the ship like real ones. Also it should be possible for the owner of a ship to remove an anchor, So that it can be replaced when it is damaged. This would keep the existing decay on anchors, Also the possibility of having one stolen would not be changed. Another good idea posted by Othob Rithol Is to have stone anchors, So that new players won't be left out, Due to the difficulties in finding lead.

It's simply a question of "Should new players have the ability to reach the same level as current players? Yes or No?". I personally think new players should have to face exactly the same grind as everyone else did and be able to catch up if they put in the effort, therefore I voted yes.
  10. 3 points
One of the main reasons many new players quit wurm in their first few hours is when they die to mobs and can't outrun them. (Seeing from a pure epic perspective) Most new ppl stick to wurm when they have a horse and reach 21 body control, since this is now much harder now we will even have a harder time raising our playerbase now, most terrible change ever.

How about revert the patch entirely until Rolf & developers bothers to read the feedback and tweaks/fixes the bugs properly before making it live? Making this big patch live after 2 days in test and ignore all of the players feedback just goes to show how incompetent the wurm development team is. It's painful to quit sometimes because this game forces you to grind hundreds hundreds of hours but I think this is the last time I'll play wurm. Posts like these from the developer makes me sick to my stomach, it just goes to show they have to intention of reading any of the feedback.

My view is that WTS and Merchant Ads should be two distinct flavored forums. The first one should be for just casual, temporary, single, non-recurring items and sales. If, however, you have a shop (merchant or otherwise), then you should advertise in Merchant Ads. There, you can update your post as you get new stock. WTS should be just for sales of opportunity.

I prefer not to weigh in on these issues. However, Body control is a pretty important skill, if I understand it correctly. This is quite true in PvP situations. Is it fair, then, that a new player who joins has to work so much harder to get the same level of skill that a long time player has? Bear in mind that these skillgains have been in effect for a very long time. It wasn't a short window of opportunity, but one which has lasted for several years. As far as I see it, there are two obvious ways to fix this problem. 1 - As the thread suggests, revert the changes to skillgain back to what they were, or nearer than they are now. or 2 - Perform an across-the-board percentage nerf to everyone's body control and archery skills to level the playing field. I know which one makes the most sense to me, and it's not option 2. Judging by the percentage Yes vote on this thread so far (96%), I would almost go so far as to say the community almost unanimously agrees with something for a change, hehe.

I say revert it. I got my archery up to 99+ about 3 years ago and barely ever touched a bow since that time. My bc is considerably high for the age of my account, it probably beats most of the so called invincible pre-FF fighters. Why take away the chance for everyone else to catch up? It's not like archery is that easy either. The gains were pretty neat when you could archer without a break, but penned and breeded animals have already been nerfed. So you actually have to take it to the woods and shoot whatever you find. That results in more arrow losses. Plus, its not like you've barely lost any arrows before. You constantly lose arrows from hunting with a bow. They break and sometimes its hard to find them when they fly a few tiles away or are inside a tree or bush. The time one has to spend making the arrows, going out to archer stuff seriously justifies these bc gains we had in the past.

Dear Rolf and Co, Congrats, as a rule abiding player you have seriously made me rethink my stance due to your incredible archery nerf. I have hunted 6 servers and have lost arrows all over the wurm cluster using a bow . I have not used penned trolls, islanded trolls or any other of the highly creative means to gain bc/archery from held cows/horses w/e. Congrats, I now feel highly stupid for actually chasing mobs because you are nerfing me the game player and not bothering about the folks who used exploits in your game to grind up their own levels. I never thought the day would come when I'd regret playing the game the way it was meant to be played but you have indeed made it possible. I had planned to continue hunting with a bow to grind bc but why bother now? Think maybe I'll slip away to wild and chew some fs on those tasty alt factories, ya know, the ones that make chasing mobs look so stupid. Pingpong

Edit: I want to specify that this was done on the test server even before the furnishings went live so if that disqualifies me for the pendants i can understand. (feel free to use it on the website either way and this is my plan for my bedroom on live but i have to level FC some more to get a few items)

Burying is a hassle when it comes to caves or rock places, you have to take the corpses out and find a spot where dirt isn't too shallow in order to bury. Better solution would be to allow us Butcher a second time. More butchering gains and the second butcher would destroy the corpse

Hi, My wife and I recently spent our first week in wurm, and I went ahead and wrote a comic about our experience. I intend to write many more and post them to this thread. Thanks for reading! The next installment: A bit blurry, I apologize. Third installation: Homestead These things happen Fourth Installment: These treacherous peaks You must strike a delicate balance between flat land, and being near water. This is not something I excel at. Fifth Installment: Is it ever NOT night? Funny how the sun becomes antisocial the moment you need something outside of camp. Side note: based on true events. Well, actually... the majority of this stuff is. Hence the name and all. Sixth Installment

Archery gain nerf is fine because that skill is insanely easy to get to 99. I did it in a couple days... As for the BC nerf thats stupid and should be reverted. All you're doing is preventing newer players from feeling they can PvP if they cant catch up. Besides, BC is already a slow body stat to grind compared to the others.

Hey, guess what? Just because something is easy to gain doesn't mean it's "overpowered". Everyone has the same opportunities... except not now. Now, in order to catch up with archery, a new player would have to spend 2.5x as long. It wasn't unfair before, but I'd say it is now.

It's as if they implement things and then just straight up lie to your face. Bit like how they said 'Oh yeah minedoors staying open for 2 minutes is now 30 seconds', which it isn't, its still 2 minutes...

I suggest hosting two impalongs. Western Impalong: Hosted in Deliverance, a strategic crossroads server between Chaos, Independence, Western Xanadu, Celebration and Exodus. Eastern Impalong: Hosted in Eastern Xanadu's shores, a strategic central area between Western Xanadu, Pristine and Release. Long-distance travel in Wurm is awful. (Roma Victor awful) - The less you force people to do, the more successful you're going to be. Logistics.

I didn't get to know WHY of such change. Would someone explain it to me please?

I agree with Jonydowy. Many of us who opted NOT to move to Xanadu, did so because we did not want to be on a megaserver. If you feel like the economy and population of your current server is disappointing to you, you have the option of moving to a more "bustling" server. I happen to LIKE my current server (Indy) just the way it is right now. Not everyone thinks combining us all together makes for a merry good time. If you turn the old servers into a megaserver NOW, you are doing exactly what many of us feared when Xanadu opened -- which is to basically "eventually" force us to centralized servers. And clearly the next step would be people clamoring to combine the new Indy-Deli-Exo megaserver with the Xanadu server. "since we know how to do it now". Had the developers been upfront about such a plan earlier, quite a few of us would have simply gone to Xanadu right when it opened. But we were assured that would not happen, and so we chose to opt out of a "busier" server. And as said, I think the probability of seriously "breaking stuff" by combining the older servers is like, a super-duper-pooper high risk. To me it is a "cool" thing that people can pick and choose what server style they want. I would guess even on the smallest populated servers, there are a number of people quite happy to have it that way. I am just curious, what made you decide NOT to go to the new server? Surely you knew it was going to have the most robust economy and bustling populations in the game? If you want a "busier freedom chat," you already have that -- it's called "global chat." (ick).

-1,people who didn't moved to Xanadu stayed on theyr servers for a reason, even if that server has 15-20 people online every day.

I guess the sad part is that the skill requirements of most them are so high that it'll be a competition between the skilled players rather than a competition between the interior designers. :/

What's wrong with naming provinces after the closest starter town? The whole point of creating provinces is for the sake of easy communication of general location. If people have to look up the community map to see where the hell "Cherrybarn" is, that defeats the purpose of naming the areas, because just giving coordinates would have been easier. Starter town provinces, on the other hand, are immediately apparent; everyone knows where Glasshollow is, and, even if they didn't, all they have to do is press M and look for the very clearly marked icon. I understand that the starter town provinces are very large and are therefore not useful for communicating more precise locations. However, we already have ingame map coordinates to perform that function. Heck, saying "North of Newspring island" would be more effective communication than "Cherrybarn." At least the guy knows what you're talking about.

Please don't make the uniques easier, make them harder so we actually have to work for it. Now we just zerg them with big groups and they die in few minutes(4-5minutes) and even the smaller groups takes them down in a short amount of time. I would really like to see the uniques beeing harder to kill so we actually have to work together in groups to kill them and not just use the zerg tactics each time
