The reason why people couldn't find it is simply because it's constant when your faith is high enough. Altar power is only required for priests. The number I got for the bonus was 9.5% ish, but assuming rounding I think it's safe to say it's a flat 10%. Just felt it was time to put the rumours to rest. Edit: The long held belief was that "you needed to be in vyn domain to get the bonus". But the needing domain part was dis-proven, which lead to people wondering if the bonus existed at all. What no one seems to have bothered trying was de-vynning to see. So I just gave up 10% skillgain for a couple weeks to figure it out once and for all

    Currently, if you miss-click on the Dismiss option, and press Send, the merchant and all goods they may have on them are gone. It does not help that the check-box is right next to the Manage Prices check-box. This process really needs a warning / confirmation screen to prevent inadvertent dismissals and loss of goods. Added Even moving the Dismiss check-box to the bottom, and adding a 2nd check-box (Yes, I really want to dismiss) would be acceptable.

    Would like to have the ability to add someone as a contact (or 'aquaintance'), rather than a full friend. A contact list would allow you to see if people are online or not, without an event message for every lost-link, disconnect or server crossing. It would allow you to keep in touch with people without giving them access to things that require permissions. As such it would enhance casual and trading relationships without compromising security. Also a big bonus for newbies who love to try to friend anyone who is helpful to them, only to get declined. Please allow us the ability to network with people without having to worry whether our stuff will still be there when we log back in. Friends should be people we know well and want to give permissions to, not everyone we might want to keep in contact with. Additionally, I would love to see an option to add a tradesman/contractor/worker to a writ or deed, possibly as an extension of the contact list functionality, that would allow people to work for others without being a villager or a full-friend. Becoming a villager just to do contract work (or alternatively have the employer trust everyone in your village with deed permissions) is a real PAIN and cripples a lot of casual work offers.     Although not medieval, but meh. Simply put, the weather is decided by some algorithmic RNG model making gradual changes to the weather over time. The suggestion is to delay the actual weather 8-10 hours, and letting the RNG roll be the basis of a weather forecast of the weather we will experience 8-10 hours from now. A command like /forecast will give us the desired info. However, to spice things up, the /forecast will only give an accurate weather prediction 50% of the time, will give moderately incorrect weather prediction 30% of the time, and wildly incorrect 20% of the time. Edit: a spell has been suggested, that could work too. Non-priest could then ask in Freedom chat to hear if someone knows what the weather forecast is for today.

    If you would feel insulted by an invite to become a contact on first meeting someone, you're free to decline, as with a friend invite. We have the option to censor bad language in text settings for people who are easily insulted. I think more people are worried about letting everyone they friend access things (carts wagons boats) that they let their close friends access, and therefore are more insulted by strangers trying to friend them.

    Yesterday Empire of Mol Rehan on Chaos decided to start construction of a new wardeed. This is a time-lapse of the initial construction of the deed of setting up the token area by clearing dirt for dirt walls and making a rock pit for the token.     A lot of us mine on an alt while doing other things it would be nice to get any warning messages in color of some kind so they stand out more.     i dont really want to get involved. i'm kinda on both sides of the fence. i have 3 deeds all lined up. with no room for deeds between. i had ideas for use in my perimeters between my deeds. but these guys were building a highway toward mine. and instead of saying no. i did the nieghbourly thing and helped flatten and pack dirt around my deed in the perimeter . later they finished and paved it. i welcomed the highway because i know it helps players / trades/ and makes friends out of the neighbours /give access to resourses. when i deeded my coastal deed. it was partly over clay. i made sure to leave a few public clay tiles and deeded the other way mainly. someone deeding over the only clay in 500 tiles would suck but it's their choice, same with a small lake if they paid for the tiles. (water is available once you can make a well. fishing only if you live low enough to the water table. kinda why most of us live coastal so one side is we should be friendly and help out the community as this is that kind of game. but the other side is the deed it or loose it, but again respect for others would be to always ask if your doing anything in someones perimeter . just like we use to have an unspoken rule about deeding to close to another's deed ,20 or 50 tiles i think. Respect is really everything so we can all get along and enjoy this wonderful game.

    It doesn't seem to matter how big the server, this type of in-game drama always seems to happen. Most people are sensible and don't build near others, or ask politely beforehand. Just take a few minutes to find a better place. For those that don't follow the accepted norms of behaviour, your only protection is to deed your land. I have to say, if I followed your posting accurately you did seem to get aggressive rather early on in the conversation which pretty much made the other chap dig his heels in.

    While you are working on the tall stone wall is there anyway we can get a tall stone wall with a gate in it? Sometimes we need a tile boarder gate instead of a 1x1 gatehouse and none of the gates we have go well with them and keeps your privacy.

    In software development, hard-coded decisions are always less attractive than customer-driven choices. With that in mind... I suggest a change to the hard-coded server crossing solution we have now to the following: When a player reaches the edge of a map (any edge of any Freedom map), rather than immediately transporting the player to the existing hard-coded map and coast, a window would pop up with the following options: =============================== Where would you like to go? Select Map: <List of Freedom Maps> Select Coast: <North, South, East, West> OK =============================== Clicking OK will take the player to a constant fixed location at the MIDDLE of the chosen coast of the chosen map. EDIT: I would guess the existing code used to prevent stacked boats on crossing would still apply. This would completely eliminate the isolation of some maps from other maps and alleviate the single-direction issues that currently exist. It would equalize the value of every coastline of every map and make the need for working the position of existing and new maps unimportant and unnecessary. I also think it would not be too difficult to code and make the entire border-crossing issue fixed permanently going forward. Discuss.

    Nothing is more frustrating (well, I can think of other things, but....) than creating an altar that cannot be moved from the stupid place it dropped. I suggest allowing altars to be pushed and pulled within the tile they are created on. This would allow fine-tuning of the position of the altar but still prevent it from being pushed off the tile. To be clear, allow the altar to be positioned using push/pull but only on the tile it is dropped onto when created. Discuss.

    In order to make animal related skills more attractive i suggest the following: - Animal Husbandry -- Rare traits for a higher speed bonus and others for fighting related values of animals. These traits should be rare, hard to breed to other animals and add a significant improvement in their domain. - Animal taming -- Allow tamers to have more than one pet by introducing a point system. For example, a lv 99 tamer has 99 taming points and a cat consumes 5 points while a dragon consumes 99 points. So the tamer can have 19 cats or 1 dragon tamed at the same time. (this has been allready suggested by somebody else) - Animal training (a new skill) -- Allows to train animals to give them even better charachteristics besides the one they get from taming -- Allows to domesticate wild animals so they turn into non aggro mobs and can be given to other players. Guards and Templars do not atac domesticated mobs owned by players from the same kingdom. In order to avoid overpopulation a player should be restricted to as many domesticated animals as he can care for.

    This is how i always thought it was meant to be not an extra hour for every bid placed. I guess you can set yourself up for another sniper at the end of that one though using this rule but hour after hour seems like a mess too. I just try to put in buyouts that are "lucrative" to me and reasonable for the other party to want to just pay it rather than wait. You can force an extra 2-3s sometimes using this method but if you overprice the buyout then it does not work.

    Wurm is notoriously buggy, and I would think that any system involving twitch combat would be very dangerous with hitboxes and whatnot. Additionally, Wurm's very scarce PvP playerbase is spread out around the world, so we can't just segregate players based on region to deal with any latency issues. This is not to mention the fact that Wurm constantly has memory leaks that create lag spikes during pvp, turning any sort of twitch-based combat into a complete mess. Anyone who knows how to target a player on a moving horse knows what I mean with latency. You have to run several tiles ahead of a running horse to attack it properly. Now imagine trying to shoot or swing a sword at a horse that's actually 2-5 tiles ahead of where it appears to be.

    I would love it if there was an option in the settings menu for disabling following things: - Creatures dying - Trees falling I appreciate the effort put into creating these animations but I would appreciate it even more if there was an option to disable them since I don't need to watch them hundreds of times. Before they were added creatures and trees just fell flat to the ground, I would like that.

    Sorry for the double post, but: What most people don't explain about that trick is the item's placement also depends on your field of view at the time. If you move your visual display a mere fraction from what it was when you dropped the initial item, the secondary item falls in a different place. The best way to do it is stand directly where you want the item and look directly down at your feet - as low as your display allows you to. The item should be created where you stand. This doesn't work for all items. Field of view does play a part when dropping an item like a medi rug, but the placement is relatively random.

    Seems to me that with the now frequent spawns of Uniques and Dragons that they have merely turned into farming operations. It is good then that they be made harder to kill by "hitting harder". I doubt that this hit would even be hard enough to reduce farming operations. I would say that fighters with 90+ skill, the best weapons and dragon armor should die at least once each fight. Others with 70+ fs and drake/plate die 3-4 times. There should be some price to pay for these fights rather than just a merry romp around the various servers to harvest their drops and sell off anything not needed, which no doubt for the top farmers would be most items. =Ayes=

    Man, either you REALLY need adamantine, or you REALLY like 60x60 holes on the map, and if you like them enough i fail to see why they shouldn't fall from the sky weekly. Unless you placed them for other reasons? A meteor is a meteor regardless of where it hits, a rod of eruption makes a meteor. It doesn't matter that you can't place it on a deed, you can still place a meteor. IMO, if you want sorcery, you should get the whole thing, not part of it. The whole thing, includes place-able meteors and meteors that fall from the sky. It works pretty well to balance out the want for it really. From personal experience, i can tell you, if you are on that moon metal hype, having your deed hit by a meteor is amazing. You can get a whole 5kgs!!!!

    If you decided to do that then that wouldn't be a problem, as you would not be using any items unintended for this server, you'd actually put some effort in to shaping the land, not activating an item and having the work done for you.
