My very first moments out of the portal were spent running like Forrest Gump from a brown bear who managed to medium bear hug me 75% to death. I ran right into the locked gate of a person who quickly unlocked it and healed me up for me to think it was safe after 20 minutes and the very same bear finish me the second go. That person is still my friend in the game. That bear? We ate him for breakfast when I made it back from spawn to get my corpse. On my trek from Spawn to where I now call home with a cart in tow behind me, on foot and slow, I met at least 10 people and speak to most of them every day still. But the thing is, there was no map. There was no mini map with red dots telling me there is a venerable crocodile right around that fence corner. There was no indication that a spirit templar was a few seconds of mad dash \o/ away to save me from it. No adventure? Homer wrote about this stuff. hahaha

Can we add "Plant nearest corner" for trees and bushes? There are sometimes where you want a tree in the same area as the one across or to make something fit right but it plants on the wrong corner and it is fixed on that tile, We need a way to change the corner or have each time we plant on that tile have a random corner so we can "find" the corner we want.

x, renowned x, master x and legendary x is the absolutely lamest way of going about the titles. There are a lot of things that can and should be uniform, titles should not in my opinion. The titles are there as a fun distinction to mark the thresholds of a skill, so what would be the point in turning them into something boring? If people are so strongly opposed of cultural references because it "doesn't fit the lore", how about we make the titles references to the Wurm lore? Anything is better than the uniform snore titles. For example: Woodcutting - Vynora's helper | Vynora's right hand | Devoted to Vynora | CHOICE by the one who uncovers it Or why not references to people that have become well-known for something in-game? Or historical Wurm events?

UPDATE ::: New version at the bottom of this page. I was bored so I made a new little crest thing to be used as forum avatars for those who may wish to use Lomaner heraldry on the forums. It's not as clean as I would have liked but it's ok when it's scaled down to avatar size. For those who don't know, Lomaner is a former PMK I set up on Epic. It doesn't exist ingame anymore but I keep it alive nonetheless as an informal society.

If it is not locked down, I dont think you can call him a "thief", nor blame anyone but yourself. Creating a boatlock and adding it is not really rocket science and if you are on the freedom cluster as it seems to be, even a 1 QL lock will do. Dont get me wrong though, it is not fun when this happens to anyone, and I am sorry this happened to you, but blaming people for taking a unlocked boat doesnt work. I have a villager that was labelled a thief because he found some arrows on the ground in a forest with no one near and took them. The line has to be drawn somewhere, and even though he took items not belonging to him, preventing it would have just been a matter of lighting the forge and creating a single lock and attach it. As a vice mayor of a new player deed, I think telling a newbie in a "newbie haven" who spent hours if not days on creating a boat to also make a boatlock is not that difficult. The "newbies dont know it right away" argument can be used for any scenario. "It is unfair that a newbie died to a hellhound cause they dont know they cant take a hellhound". "It is unfair that a newbie gets flagged as criminal for picking sprouts on anothers deed and get killed by templars cause they dont know it yet". In fact, for all we know it was a newbie who took the boat and because he is new "didnt know that you cant just take any boats". See, that logic can also be used for the "thief" Also telling people to piss off for pointing out a common and important part of gameplay doesnt really make you look like the righteous party either from a neutral readers perspective I think you can pretty much expect these answers when making a post like this

This is an absolute falsehood. Just because it's not against the game rules doesn't mean it's not stealing. It's taking something that doesn't belong to you. If you rocket scientists notice, this isn't me whining on a /support ticket, I'm reporting (to the Pristine community) that we have someone taking things that don't belong to them, the name of the item, and that there is a reward for its return. Every "rule" here protects the little turd who took something that wasn't his, including the "name and shame thing". So, please, instead of irritating me further, please just ignore the thread (especially if you play on some other server), thank you.

Since I'm sure some of you are curious what I'm up to, here is the little weekend summary. Unfortunately, I think I've wasted most of this weekend. My goal was to build a new better system to save settings and all other kinds of data in Assistant. For that I was trying to use a database instead of files (to make settings less prone to corruption) and different serializer (to make working with these settings faster and easier). I've managed to write this new system and the first database (SqlCe) worked pretty fine and I thought it is "it", but I've had to do some performance tests just to be sure. I've compared it to the old system and guess what... it was so slow I just couldn't believe it! Far too slow to be useful for what I'm using it for. Initially I thought, something else in this new system is slowing everything down. So I've added a new way to save data, using simple files just like the old system. Well, tests confirmed it was indeed database, as the file-based way was even faster than old one. I've read that SqlCe does not cache data and it's just directly reading and writing to disk, so I've turned to another database (SQLite) and this time, I've simply failed to get it to work at all. I'm sure, there is probably some magical sentence to copy-paste somewhere to make it all nice, but I've not found it and after wasting 2 hours on that, I've figured I'm just wasting time and dropped the idea of database completely. This was mostly because of trying to use entity framework to work with it. I'm also suspecting sqlite wouldn't be much faster than sqlce. Fortunately, at least this new serializer turned out pretty good. So next thing I'm going to do, is to strip the new system of all this database nonsense, keep everything as files, tweak few bits and pieces where there is room for improvement and plug that into Assistant (and new launcher) and go back to doing something productive here, for a change.

Large sums? I bought 2 sets of 80ql plate armor for 4s on epic not even a week ago from the forums. Is 4s a lot? Steel is available to anyway that wants to make it. So plate is best for pvp, so what's the issue. Leather and chain have their uses too as evidenced by the players on freedom that use it. How does nerfing plate create any benefit? And seriously, if you have to pay for plate armor on a PVP server you are doing it wrong.

GM's should take a Zero-Tolerance stance on this. If someone comes and locks something on your deed or plants multiple bsbs/fsbs/fountains/whatever, ban them. Simply removing the item in question isn't enough. (Sure people will use alts most of the time, but it will surely slow them down and undoubtedly catch a few actual accounts too)

I think honestly that any non-lore friendly titles should be replaced. Namely: Suggested Change Tim the Toolwoman/man ~~~ Uncertain of Replacement Schwarzenegger ~~~ World Breaker Gepetto ~~~ Puppeteer Tank Girl ~~~ Dame Midas Touch ~~~ Uncertain of Replacement Also any other non-lore ones I missed. Also yeah Xallo's thread has the right idea.

I suggest a few new insects mobs. Along with various meats and other products, these insects could provide chiten, which can be used to make chiten armor. 1. The giant aphid. These giant insects could gaze on grass tiles, and it be milkable for honeydew, a sweet substance with some alchemical value. Perhaps honeydew could be brewed into some sort of alcoholic beverage. 2. The giant weaver spider. This insect provides no chiten, but can be farmed for spider silk. It also has a special web shooting move in combat that has a similar effect to the web armor enchantment. These spiders could replace the common large spider. 3. The eclipse spider. This smaller spider, about the size of a dog, is rarer than its giant cousins. It isn't much of a problem to dispatch, but it's bite gives poison wounds, which could be problematic to a lightly armored opponents. These have no chiten to make armor with. 4. The giant millipede. This is a long, chiten armored herbivore. 5. The giant grass hopper. This is a dog sized, chiten armored herbivore. 6. The giant mantis. This is a powerful chiten armored predator. Beware it's blades! These should be extremely rare, but very hard to kill. These mobs should provide a large amount of meat and chiten when killed, but killing them requires multiple people working together. 7. The giant ant. These chiten armored insects only spawn near special "anthills" (a kind of lair). There are soldier varieties, and worker varieties. Soldiers are tougher than the workers, but they give more butchering products.

Two things... it's 10i per action not 1i (but your totals still add up). The other is that to not consider material loss because that person didnt create the material is foolish. For example, I do carp and have to buy the logs. If I improve a loom to 70ql that can take up to a whole high ql log, which I have to buy. Fundamentally, 10i/action is used as a rough baseline but other factors play a part. The effort of transporting bricks around, the boredom of making mortar, and the time for other aspects all affect how much people value their goods at. Though your numbers make sense for 100% creation chance perhaps (ignoring those other factors) you SHOULD consider difficulty when evaluating prices. Mortar is hard without high masonry, likely well above 3 actions per mortar output, and with most skills the higher skill players focus on higher return products so the bulk items are primarily made by the players with low skill. As such, current prices make sense if your main guide is effort generally required to produce. As always, supply and demand is key. If people didnt think the price was somewhat reasonable, they would do it themselves. If the price doesn't subsequently go down due to low demand then it isn't through stubbornness, it's because nobody is willing to give their time for lower returns - they'd probably just rather play other bits of the game. Selling items is not a charitable act - to reduce the price ONLY because you find something easier than in the past makes no business sense. My prices haven't gone down over time because it's easier, they've gone down because of the rise of reasonable competition in my field and because I anticipate the increase in volume to offset the decreased margin. Just my 2i

For fighting skill, I'd like to see a bunch of different titles on each level tier. For instance: Level 50 could unlock "Fighter" "Soldier" "Man at Arms" "Reqruit" and "Squire" Level 70 could unlock "Mercenary" "Cataphract" "Barbarian" and "Knight" Level 90 could unlock "Paladin" "Templar" and 'Crusader" I think that "Notch" should be a title for mind skill somewhere. He is in the mensa society, you know.

Please don't apologize, I understand your point; but my point is, I like to know if there are people around that I really wouldn't want as neighbors. If I shoot arrows in the woods and then don't spend the time to find all of them, and someone else finds them, then I wouldn't be offended. But if I leave out some large vehicle that obviously took a long time to build, and it's parked in some sensible place to park it, a person who'd take it is not someone I want to have as a neighbor. I don't like how the lock system works for carts, for example. I don't want everyone I've ever added to my friends list to be able to get in my carts, but also I hate digging out a key every time I want to open a cart, and don't want good friends having to carry the weight of a key in their inventory for each cart and having to dig them out also. I mean there's "finders keepers," and then there's "I know someone values this, but I'm going to take it anyway because they screwed up." Yes, the rules allow it, and I wouldn't say to ban their account if they're within the rules, but I don't want them anywhere near me.

if you give someone a chance to take advantage of you.. it will happen sooner or later. it cannot be called stealing if you didnt secure it properly. If you let others use it, you need to be prepared to also lose it.

Thanks there, GM! If you will notice, I shared this with the community, and offered a reward for the return. It's a complex game, and rather new players may not immediately be aware that every single thing needs to be absolutely on lock down or some jack hole can steal it. Where I live, in game, we don't tolerate theft... and we don't blame the person that was stolen from, we blame the thief.

Spot on criticism. We can "poof" our houses in just a second by accessing the writ, and that shambly fence we built is indestructible? Why can't I destroy a fence I built myself more easily (and also do so as a f2p)? This has nothing to do with griefing, it's just inconsistent game mechanics. It is really hard interacting with others in the beginning except asking for their mercy and help. There is NOTHING a new player has to offer an established player, and the means to travel to interact are extremely limited. Most people who want to try the "sandbox experience" however are going to attempt to DIY: strike out on their own, stake out a plot with their nails and teeth, and survive and prosper. This is kind of what it says on the package of this game (metaphor! ), and really most people would agree this actually isn't the way to play Wurm (cries of "shut up and join a village" all around).

Lol at Artifacts being "used" to repair a Light that's been bashed 3 times in a single night. Let's change it now so nobody else can do the same in an attempt to steal the Artifacts and never risk losing them the way we took them! Really - the lights should be put in a fixed location, all of the Artifacts should respawn again, and the lights should never be able to be moved by people ever again.

By recruiting more people Lancelot. Thats how. Same way MR went from a group of HoM players into an empire. The Empire of Mol Rehan has an amazing roster of players and accounts. They didn't hatch from eggs, they got recruited. They got recruited by people with great talent and leadership abilities and certainly it didn't happen overnight. It took over a year to get from the humble begginings of Kratos into the multi-village state that MR currently is. The era of Mol Rehan will one day reach its end and a new Dawn will bring another kingdom into power. But that will also not happen overnight. That other kingdom, be it BL or JK or any PMK, will have to work hard and set longterm goals to get to the top of the foodchain.

Hello, I'm a new player that lucked into a great deed, and I'm looking for another new player to join me. My deed is located along the northwest coast (5x, 13y) and has a very natural setting. My intention is to keep it somewhat rustic, respecting the land while using it. If you have become hooked on Wurm and have a desire to skill up and learn alongside me, please let me know. Plenty of opportunities just outside to raise fight skill. Having said all that, I'm perfectly happy to be a sole citizen. But if it is the right match, I would be happy to have you come on board. Send me a PM and we can discuss. Regards, Fescue

If you are on a freedom server and someone comes to your deed locking bsb's etc. file a support ticket for GM assistance. Going to someone's deed and locking up bsb's, fsb's etc. that you do not have access to the contents may be considered griefing and is dealt with as such. Use common sense and you will most likely be fine.
