Just hoping everyone is staying safe and warm in the USA and Canada. Atm it is 0 degree Fahrenheit in Ohio and it's dropping fast. I know it has to be even colder north and west of us. (Stay safe too everyone else!) See, I'm not as grumpy as I usually appear!

A few minutes ago the servers became inaccessible. We do not know why, except that it is a network issue. Usually these situations happen because of a router malfunction or maintenance and we can not do anything about it except ask what happened upstream. We expect the game to be accessible soon. I am a neighbor of Gurrington and as much as I will shake my fist and point my catapult at any loud parties on that deed, I must recommend this place to all those who want a great home. The owners are very friendly and helpful, the area is beautiful and the deed is quite active. The homes that Guruen speaks about are really quite something! You have to see them. You don't get this much room on most deeds. This is a great place for that new or intermediate player who wants to concentrate heavily on game and progression but would like a complete house and a garden to move into. Highly recommended.

i still think a new server should be opened that has the same skill curve/gain system as epic, but resets every 6 months, one thats purely for pvp, no commitment or anything, you log in when you wanna pvp, a server thats like the first 6 months of epic, but repeating

I recently saw a sign saying "You are at 15x 12y" Which is a way better indication than a non existing deed. Perhaps follow that general idea ? I suggest that they make sign decay 3 times quicker if the placer has not logged in in the last 30 days.

That, or if it's too unrealistic (I am sure some will suggest this), then perhaps another idea: Assign a few(small, limited number) of responsible volunteer-roadworkers per server, to be able to turn/move/reposition/remove signs that pertain to basic navigation (not personal destinations and villages). Then these guys (I would happily) can clean up during the normal course of play and travel.

Anyone who thinks these videos are real has to be beyond dumb >.< Just sayin

Add a timer when fueling fire containers when you have a wooden tool activated. This gives you an opportunity to cancel the burn action and not have your tool destroyed instantly. For wood scraps and logs, the burn action should still be instantaneous.

No. No. No, Rolf. Terrible ideas. Would have been good as a joke on April 1st. You might as well remove all walls and fences from the game, far easier to do and has the exact same effect.

Removing the enclosure rule completely would require adding other rules to protect newbies. Otherwise it would be like marking any stuff left in their farms as "Free stuff if you bash" and their animals as "Free skill if you bash". While it doesn't protect people completely as fences can still be bashed or picked (it happened to me while I was still a froob) I think that it would be really disheartening for someone to hear that anyone with premium is free to break in whenever he wants and steal or kill whatever is not locked in a house. However the fact that there are a few giant enclosures that virtually serve no use other than making navigation for other players difficult means that there are some loopholes in the current system that need to be patched. Adding a "maximum distance from house" restriction and possibly a rule to leave walkable paths every x tiles would be a good idea.

Being on freedom, the only reason I can think of to jump is to steal other peoples' stuff from inside their walls. I don't see how adding that can be a good thing. In fact about the only benefit I can think of is to escape mobs more easily (not needing a gate) but then no doubt we'll just end up with spiders climbing over walls too

Verified and added to the bug list. If you plant one off-deed first, then you can plant on deed. However, if you plant on deed first, you get the one sign per week message.

I am not denyed the right to get a refill just because my cup happens to be full a some random point in time. Technically my refill cup is ---> UNCAPPED <---. I can drink any portion of my cup and go get more anytime I want. I am deny the benefit from a SB gift if I'm at 5 hr SB. More importantly, I am denied the right to any bed SB in excess of 5 days when I am away from Wurm for more then that time span. After 5 days in bed my SB is 5 hr (5day * 24hr * 60 min / 24 min-per-sb-min is 300 min or 5 hrs). Assuming I was away for 7 days I would be denied the right to to ~ 2hrs of SB that I rightfully earned. Further, removing the cap for premium solves both of these problems and makes the atmosphere for Wurm more positive ( no more disappointments followed by flaming/trolling/insulting forum posters). All this is gained at NO COST!

This is complete BS. I have 5, gift is given out, I have 5. I gained nothing. Another player had 1, gift is given out, that player benefited from 4 more they I. Seems pretty messed up to think just because I didn't use my first 5 hour that somehow I know don't deserve to receive a gift. Not that I care much about the SB gift. Heck I wouldn't care if they removed the SB gift. My main point is that removing the cap effectively removes all arguments about SB, improves moral, improves customers service, add more flexibility to using SB. All these benefits come at NO COST. No one here can give a well supported reason why this is bad. it literately huts no one and add substantial benefits to the Wurm experience. Every single comment about accumulating loads of SB is bull when you do the math associated with those claim. Players will still buy sleep powder. This is because most that by sleep powder are players who both grind for hours a day and want the SB too. Further, these players simply can't accumulate sb if they are grinding away for many hours a day.

Is it April Fools Day? That was my first reaction on reading this post. From the sentences I underlined, it appears you've already put in the dev time in on this. Meaning you've already decided to do this. Thanks for talking to us about it. Guess you're still deciding when. I'm frankly kinda speechless about this and probably should have waited til I'm more awake. So many things running through my head. I hate this. More than I can express. Flying?? So why will we need walls or fences? Just to keep out noobs with low bc? Being grounded in Wurm is one of the things that makes everything else work, imo. The majority of people I see posting in suggestions are always concerned with "realism." People don't even want cooling in bsb's because it'll "burn the wood." Watering flowers, nothing that increases travel speed, etc. I can't believe my eyes seeing people actually thinking flying is a good idea. Throwing out the enclosure rules but giving people time to "prepare?" So basically just throwing people to the wolves. And for what? To fix a getting-stuck-in-walls bug? With all the things people have been asking for......we get flying?? I have to say, this will very much ruin the best part of the game for me. I can only imagine the repercussions on the pvp servers. Sorry for the rant. It's still early and I still have my face in a cup of coffee. And I'm sure I'm just wasting effort here since, like I said, you appear to have already put the dev time into it and are just giving us your version of fair-warning.

It is wonderful that some people have a nice regular schedule such that they can devote at least 5 hours of playtime every 5 days to ensure that it doesn't go to waste but that isn't the case for everyone. And just because I can't use it immediately doesn't mean I'll have a decent chunk of free time in the future to be able to use it all. You can make that same argument for any timespan. If you could only store half an hour of it would you still be making the same claim? I mean if you can't play at least half an hour every 12 hours what good does storing it do for you? Well yeah different people have different obligations in life. The larger the capacity the more flexible it becomes with people's schedules. And I'm not sure how an unlimited cap changes what function it's supposed to serve. I'm still curious as to where Rolf explained his intentions with it or if you're just coming to your own conclusions about what it's supposed to be. As far as I understand sleep bonus type stuff it's meant to give a small boost to those that don't have the chance to play as often and if this is the case then increasing the limit can only benefit this, but I wouldn't presume to understand Rolf's intentions without some statement from him. I'm not exactly sure who this is supposed to be hurting to make them appreciate sleep bonus better. None of that would make any difference to me as I rarely benefit from crashes and one extra hour a month isn't all that much so I wouldn't exactly care if I didn't get that. So by all means get Rolf to do that. I'd be in the exact same position. You'd just be shooting yourself in the foot and the original issue would still be there to suggest solutions for. It is amazing how callous some people can be and think that everyone should be able to play the game in the same way they do and if they can't they should just suck it up and give up on enjoying it especially on something inane as this.

Is this the only thread on the topic? I used floorboards for every building I've ever made & I'm tired of seeing dirt every day. Have the Devs explained why it happened or when we will get our floors back? This is not cool=/ Edit: This is not an opinion. And why add in-game maps if they're not going to have all the information that the community maps do? I doubt very much that the in-game maps, at first, will be useful. They'll miss things and be too cut and dry. New players will want more information. Eventually, they'll have all the bells and whisltes just so players actually use them. And eventually we'll start talking about gps either for player position or for markers or something else. Many MANY developers say they'll never do something and do it anyway. Never ever believe them. In fact, there'll probably be lots of hints on the maps to identify where you're so gps won't even be needed. Same thing. Mark my words, they'll find some way to make it easy to use, so that you either find a kind of gps or you don't need it. The only time you should trust a developer is if you have a copy of the code and can change it and release it just like they do. Of course, since a lot of these mmo's are commercial and not moddable, you can't do that. It never ends, if you don't set limits. This is true for players too. Know when to quit playing! As a long time gamer, I stayed with many games too long even though they had lost a lot of their flavor. Know thyself. Bottom line, I'd be a happy player if they just removed the compass and stopped releasing official map dumps. Honestly, I've used the white light and black light and I've used landmarks and have my sense of direction. Without a compass and without an official mpa dump, I'm the type of person that will adjust and like it. Strangley, some people cannot exist without those things. They want automatic things and accessibiity features. I'd be happier. I'd have more faith in them. Right now, i have no faith in them. I lost faith in developers a long time ago. Most of them do the same ol' things. When they say something, they sound just like a politician to me. I've rarely ever used my compass or the community maps and that's why I don't think it needs to be expanded. As a new player, I LIKED that there was no in-game map. Things like that made Wurm Online special. It was just you and the world. Too many games nowadays have windows and icons inbetween you and the world. And I was a new player in 2012. Just last year. I'm not an oldtimer around here! Go ahead, shrug off everything I say. It's ok, I expect that. Been dealing with that for years. Most people don't like me. Fact. I always go for the hardcore games where you have to do things manually with harsh punishments. I don't know why I'm that way. Why does a farmer farm? Why does a painter paint? I am a sculpture preexisting in a block of granite. I am as helpless to change who I am as anyone. I go with hte rainstorms and swim with sharks. I will bow out from this discussion. I know hte talking heads and the people will convince themselves they need all this and eventually they'll think they can't live without. Most of you can't think on your own.

There's a bit of unfortunate wording in the original post, "General World and Local Map" should say "Server cluster map and Server map" instead. Might explain some of the confusion.
