Its the time of the year again and atleast i make this suggestion for about 5 years now. A great thing that would benefit players and you Rolf ALOT is that you put it in a premium gift system. Cause at the moment you must have the characters password to pay - WHY!? there is no harm in any way for someone to pay premium, only thing that could annoy someone is that you can see how much in game coin you have in the bank but that should be easily fixed. Please fix this once and for all rolf.

We had some issues with handing out the Christmas gifts this year but they have been spiced up with some sleep bonus and it’s time for us to share our wishes for a Merry Christmas. We do it with this image by Emil. Â Our recommendation is to play some jingle bells while viewing. In Wurm, Santa truly gives you bear hugs

I was not sure where to post this and thought i might just as well make a topic for others to share their ideas for new christmas gift ideas too. My thought/idea was a candy cane this would be 99ql and would give you a refresh on use/taste (same timer as the skill) each refresh would use up 1ql with no decay as long as it is carried. This fits into the holiday theme and would be of some use without being any game breaking thing If you have any ideas for future gifts fell free to post them here i just wanted to get my idea out there so the developers could see it so feel free to post yours too,

So today we had an outage game wide after implementing an update for Xmas. But in Wurm as most wurmians know this means full sleep bonus. Now just in case of outages I keep my sb pretty low, I think most do. I just want to thank you. We literally get reimbursed for our missed game time. Not for doing something extra above and beyond but what all other mmos should do. We pay for our time so we get it back in game if the game wasn't available. Its fair and right so thanks for doing the right thing even though Wurm is the only one, that I know of, doing it. Happy xmas.

I missed the event but went along on a tour later with some friends. I have to say: Go see this! The amount of work that went into it is astounding, yes, but what really got me was the creativity and imagination that went into it. It reminded me of those games that provide you with an environment, and you go through solving puzzles which slowly reveal a story (point and click adventure games like Myst, and a slew of horror games). If you take your time and enjoy the atmosphere it's very creepy and cool, and there are many everyday Wurm items you will never look at the same way again. Simply amazing.

It's a cool gift. But I saw a lantern and immediately thought 'well, it can't be improved and lanterns decay superfast in inventory. so it'll be gone in 6 months' I'm hoping they didn't just copy the lantern item and give it a different name/model. **** Merry Christmas all. Even Syhl and Nerf. =)

Speak for yourself, i actually been saving it up to start a new skilling session, topped up yesterday, so basically, nothing for me... They really should put up a SB overflow, so that when they hand over these compensations everyone gets compensated, not just those who exhausted their SB pool.

"If you build it, they will come!" It was a few months ago that Battlepants heard this mysterious voice. The source of it was nowhere to be seen. It was a calm voice, deep in its tone, bringing with it a strange sense of unease and an almost imperceptible hint of what is yet to come. All those who heard it turned their heads around alarmingly and grabbed their swords, suddenly alert and ready, as if expecting an impending attack. Even the horses stirred uneasily, their ears perched and their senses keen. All reacted... all, except Battlepants. With his eyes on the empty shoreline of south-eastern Deliverance, he smiled warmly under his heavy brow. He knew what he had to do. Battlepants did build it and we did come. The Impalong of 2013 can be counted as a great success. Preceded by others on Independence - all famous in their own right - it had tough shoes to fill. There was skepticism and unbelief. There was criticism even before it started. But for us who came, it was an event that will long be remembered. When I came to Pendelton after an arduous journey through the exotic and mysterious Exodus all the way from the southern lands of Celebration, the first thing I noticed was that however small my ship was it would fit in no remaining quay. The entire mooring line of the island was peppered with sea vessels. The cogs and sail boats from Deliverance, the caravels of Independence, the sleek corbitas from Exodus and even the knarrs of my own shallow-shored Celebration were squeezed four deep, obscuring dry land. Almost immediately the twang of a hundred hammers, mallets and anvils filled the air, the noise of many forges boomed in a cacophony of work unlike any I had heard before! When I finally squeezed my boat in the only remaining spot along the crowded port, a friendly fisherman welcomed me ashore. Passers by were waving hello as I reached the great forges. A friendly banter could be heard. The place was packed to the brim! Before long, I felt at home. And during my stay at Impalong, I witnessed the best that the Wurm community has to offer. This was a joyous, giving event, devoid of any petty squabbles or even major misunderstandings. I have seen people tirelessly donate their time to improve others' possessions that they would normally charge several silvers for. I have seen new players welcomed to the event over and over again... fully embraced and helped when they seemed confused and out of place. I have heard people laugh and tease each other, but never maliciously. There were tournaments and prizes, duels and mazes. There was a hall to put your likeness in and a tower to jump from. There were cow races. There was a visit from Rolf and steady waves of storming monsters that attacked the streets. Food flowed freely provided by some of the best chefs in Wurm. The bins were full of top quality materials. I manned my own station, donating my free time and it felt great. I will miss the friends I made at Impalong, even if they are only just several servers away. Suddenly, the far, exotic lands north of Celebration are no longer large and unknown, but full of people I know. As I now sail home, I think fondly of Pendelton. I will definitely return there next year. As for the rest of you, if you are interested, share your thoughts about how you enjoyed the Impalong below. Maybe post screenshots, if you have any, or send a shout-out to someone you met. Tell us what you had improved and how high. Give us your own postcard from this awesome event, so that we can all smile and reminisce a little, perhaps nodding knowingly and maybe shaking our head in disbelief, but remembering. And when you return to your deed and once again the updates, the tweaks, the features and the frustrations seem important anew, just think back to December 2013 in Pendelton, how great it felt, and grab a hammer, repeating once again: KEEP CALM AND IMP ALONG!

Thank you for a great gift and for all your wishes! Also thank you a lot for an amazing WURM year! (both DEVs and volunteer staff). Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you! Also Happy Holidays for all WURM players and their RL families... we may not had the best relations sometimes, but now, at the end of the year, "I LUV U ALL" - after all we're all part of the same WURM family. Ho Ho Ho... Merry Christmas! May all of your dreams comes true these holidays! Cheers, Alex

52 metallurgy. I use ~5ql large zinc bundles on a stack of copper. I don't care about the ql of the copper. You can reduce the ql of your zinc by shooting 63 lump bundles in the catapult. Anything that is lower then ~29ql will likely be destroyed. You can put coc on the zinc bundle. A lower creation chance is more likely to give skill gains. Charcoal ql, zinc ql, and tin ql all effect the creation chance. I prefer brass and bronze for skilling because its easier to get them compared to charcoal. Using high ql iron when you have low metallurgy skill is waste. Iron ql only affects your output ql but at low metallurgy skill you get mostly low quality regarles.

Hi, Not long ago here existed a thread named "Seriously" (about the XMas gift). I replied to it, not agreeing to the OP. Now the thread is is gone, as well as my reply (even in "my content"). Search doesn't find anything. Full threads are deleted now without further notice? Seriously? I'd expect an explanation from the mods. For sure, I might be completely wrong and just unable to use the forums search, too. I see that the XMas gift has been changed. But this isn't a reason to delete whole threads, IMHO. Such should not happen at all, IMHO. Period. Unhappy - this used to be a rather reliable forum before :/

Not sure why you feel it's necessary to leave a thread full of hatred and speculations out in the open while they're trying their best to raise the Christmas spirit. They made a mistake which in turn made lots of people angry, what reason would there be to leave large traces of it? To cause aggravations in others that weren't even there for the original anger outburst? Get over yourself, a few lost posts in the name of the holiday spirits isn't going to hurt you. I honestly hope this awful thread gets deleted as well.

Honestly, would be a better option just to get rid of them entirely. Offer a coin per charge refund type deal and be done with them entirely and level the playing field. That being said, there's also a lot of people who spent an awful lot of RL money on amulets that would no doubt feel screwed over.

I made a tool to calculate the base price and favor of various Items in Wurm. This has been developed and tested on windows 7 and uses .Net, there may still be a few bugs in the program but I cant seem the find them at the moment. quick glance of the features: Add, Merge, Ignore and remove Items on the fly.Calculates into both Favor and Base price, as well as showing god-specific bonuses.can Import and Export your table to .csv (which can be used in other applications like excel).Items are sorted by group, as to avoid too many items to scroll through.Create custom groups and add items to those groups with the configure items window.Use an items quality and base price to determine its constant for custom Items (no math necessary!). Pictures of the tool: As can be seen, it is somewhat configurable. Allowing you to add your own groups and items as well as learn the constant of an item (that is a value used in the get price of all items in wurm). It's main purpose is to simply select several items (a few stacks of cordage rope as an example) and it will perform the math for you on those items, and return the favor and base price (which makes this ultimately most useful to priests). It is capable of this the moment it is run, so no need to configure it. Some instructions are shown on the tool when it is first run to help you get used to how it works. Change log: 29/11/2013 - Version 1.01Attempt to fix usage with different cultures (for instance, using a comma instead of a full stop to show decimals) 28/11/2013 - Version 1.00Initial release Download link:http://www.mediafire.com/download/nawzhrcdz9j9o1b/Wurm_online_favor_calc_1.01.zip

Everyone knows BL is full of mycelium, and we love it. Everyone is also familiar with the quests that ask u to cut down a tree. When Libila asks us to cut down a tree the mission says fe.: cut down the lemon tree north of dead lake. Problem here is that our trees are infected very fast but the missions dont recognize this, so we have an area with infected lemon trees instead of what the mission asks: a normal lemon tree. so its not possible to finish this missions and it will be in the mission details for days until it expires. This is unfair and shouldnt be like it, mission would have aak for a infected/noninfected tree since a tree is a tree.

Mag just lost what I think is round 5 with Nathan, he's gonna respawn and go for round 6, I'm pretty sure... We've done enough missions for Mag that one person here has over 10,000 scenario points, just one person alone. And this is what we get instead.

-1 From me, but +1 for the Might and Magic reference. Mandate of Heaven FTW! All in all I don't think this system is needed. The current titles already sort of do this, and well.. It just seems unneeded to me, people already skill up crazy fast. That's also what affinities are for, if you want more skillgain, buy some affinities, or PVP for them. More Pay2Win is a no for me.

It seems like if you spent half the time that you've been using this thread as an outreach of your emotional troubles that you might actually get rid of your sleep bonus. If that's one of the saddest things you've ever read then you must be very shallow. The world is a pretty bad place, and a sleep bonus argument even if you don't agree with it, is not one of the saddest things. So please, let's not go down that road. And there's a very clear line of crying, the issue here is that the OP is not the majority, and people are fine with what we have. There's an entitlement behind the OP that rustles my jimmies. You can't have the world handed to you, just be happy with the bonus in place, and if you can't enjoy it because you don't play that much, then play more. It's not that hard to use sleep bonus TL;DR: Nightfall is a keyboard warrior

Tis the Season to be Thieving During a time of year when folks are supposed to come together to bring happiness and joy to each other, there seem to be those who do not believe in this tradition. Only last week some new people moved into the area next to The Hills of Aenasan, a new player refuge and academy They proceeded to steal the new player land by fencing off sections of it, and also reinforcing them out of sections of their mine. These dreadful people even went so far as to put a KOS hit on the Mayor of the Orphanage. Truly despicable people. Then yesterday, people lined up for hours at the Howl waiting for Santa to arrive so they could receive their Christmas gift. One group of ambitious thieves hid around the corner and robbed each person of their gifted Farwalker Amulets moments after they had gotten up from Santa's lap. Reports are, the Templars will never catch those crafty ones. Authourities urge you not to buy any of these items if you see them on the Black market, as they could be taken away from you and used as evidence. Finally, It is with a great sadness that I must report the theft of a game show near and dear to every ones heart, "Deal or No Deal". For over three years Gumbo and Nib happily hosted the program that brought joy to so many. The game show sponsored new deeds, paid upkeep on others, and sent many a player on a shopping spree. This game brought great happiness to the couple, and players alike. It's one thing to take an idea once the creators are done with it, but to steal an idea that is still actively being used is insulting. After finding out that thieves had taken their idea and replaced them with a creepy host and ugly case opener, bad times have befallen Gumbo and Nib. Neither is inspired to contribute anymore. Gumbo was last seen somewhere in a ditch around the Freedom Market area, begging for coins so he can support his growing "speedy ball" (source crystal mixed with wemp) addiction. Nib has been hit with a huge case of depression after learning she had been replaced as DoND case opener. Her replacement... a woman half her age and half her beauty. Family members say Nib is currently on a 24 hour /suicide watch. Rumours are that Nib now only stands by her altar, praying all day long. Sad times indeed. If you happen to come across one of these "fly by night" DoND games, we hope you'll make your displeasure known. A simple rule comes to mind, one that if applied probably would have helped avoid all of these situations. "Ask before taking". Merry Christmas

IMO: Meaningful features are good, Tedious tasks are bad. Complexity and immersion are not the same as "adding extra click-and-drag actions for the heck of it". If the ability to quickly cool down lumps was removed completely because it's not "immersive and complex" enough I'd have to spam floors full of lumps everytime I'd been mining to refill the iron stock. Literally like watching paint dry - What part of watching paint dry sounds like a good game? Ain't nobody got time for that.

I see nothing wrong with the system as it is .....unless we get a very big chunk of downtime ....say over a weekend or so. In which case Rolf has given out Prem time to players that lost it...Welldone Rolf But maybe.....just may be this idea will help both parties - How about (and i have posted this b4) if you have a full 5 hrs SB you have an op to turn it into 5 hrs worth of Sleep Powder ? Then the players that like and want to use there SB can ....and those that want to store it (incase of another shutdown where we get SB again b4 we had the chance to use the first) so they can use it later OR even trade / sell it can do that also. Not much of a change to the game......and not much work to do for the Dev's as most of this is already in the game. ?

I'm one of the winter lovers. I was hoping that winter would last at least 'till the 25th (in all timezones), and gods willing, maybe 'till January 1st. It's not like there has never been snowfalls in spring nor summer. I love spring too, but I spent some time putting snowpeople everywhere and now they look ridiculous . An option to force the season for the client would have been great. Disable it for the pvp servers if it's a problem.

-1 I don't think that people understand that crying just makes the game staff NOT want to give you things. Be grateful for your eggs.

I love the SB freebies! If you do not play often or for long periods, it is reasonable to expect that the irregular downtime spikes would not negatively effect you and your playtimes, therefore no reward is justified? But, I could be entirely wrong, as no one theory fits all. I am curious as to what other items/rewards you think would be appropriate? How about your premium time reimbursed hour for hour? Sounds fair.

Forum Trolls on the Rise Again After a large recession in forum trolling, it appears to be making a comeback once again. More and more trolls were increasingly finding themselves out of work, with the lack of interest for anyone to post here on the forums. There were simply not enough topics or ideas being posted for all the trolls to work on, and this is having a major effect on the douche-bags who troll posts. One troll was quoted as saying, "My family is starving, I can't troll enough to keep my kids belly full anymore", as he hinted he may just retire from the troll business altogether. Yet another one of these "Yes" or "Aye Aye" little boys noticed his favourite stalking prey make an appearance. Well, he jumped at the chance to once again put his trolling techniques into practice. This Aye Aye douche-bag repeatedly would ignore great posts by his stalking victim for years, but once someone else came along and posted the same idea, Aye Aye boy was all over it creating the drama he so loved to deploy. Now we here at the Wurnion realize people do have to eat, but we would also like to point out how desperately lonely the life of forum troll can be. Sitting in their homes with their fingers up their noses just waiting for their favourite victims to post, can be a heart-wrenching affair. We tried to make a donation to one of these jerks, but our CoD monies came back after not being able to find the address, "beyond time and space".
